If you listened to my novel The Cul de Sac you know that twenty minutes west of Boston (give or take) sits a quiet, secluded little place called Woodland Hills. The town exudes quintessential New England charm, pretty neighborhoods, classic New England architecture, and a handful of local businesses on a charming main street. Yes, it does contain a demonically infested cul de sac - but really, the rest of the town is quite normal. Its residents are typical New Englanders, hardy, preppy, and true to their regional reputation, they are kind, but they are not nice. It is a quiet town. A cozy town. A town where families live and work and go to school. So, next week, on Friday, February 13th - join me and the Woodland Hills West PTA for a cozy mystery right here on the Ghosts in the Burbs podcast feed. As always, Instagram is the best place to get updates on the podcast - go take a peek - you'll find that the WHW PTA has already taken over my account. See you back here next Friday - go Rams!

In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of our SBS Fall Fest Retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona, and why it ended up being one of my favorite retreats yet. I share why I decided to make retreats members-only, what changed when everyone came with the same foundation, and how that shifted the entire experience from “catching up” to true growth. You'll hear how we designed Fall Fest around the theme “remembering your why,” especially after a packed sewing season that can leave you disconnected from what you actually want. I break down what made our keynote day with Michelle Grosser so powerful—from noticing stress patterns to understanding the deeper “why” behind habits like overbooking, avoiding confrontation, and staying stuck on pricing.PS - I give you a peek at what's coming for Nashville (March 10–12): a bigger group, new ways to keep it intimate, and a “Future by Her Design” theme with sessions on serving weight-loss-journey clients, social media + AI + Canva, and financial planning. In this episode:A shared foundation changes everything in an in-person retreat experienceStress patterns can drive overbooking, avoidance, and pricing hesitationVulnerability and real connection create the “no drama, all growth” dynamicRetreat structure matters: space, pacing, small groups, and intentional bondingNashville is March 10–12 with a “Future by Her Design” focusLearn more about the upcoming SBS retreat: https://secretsofabridalseamstresspodcast.com/retreatsConnect with Nadine:Check out the exclusive private podcast series, Fitting Packages 101: https://enchanting-sun-77080.myflodesk.com/privatepodcastBecome a member: https://secretsofabridalseamstresspodcast.com/membershipInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/secretsofabridalseamstress/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nadinebozemanYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@secretsofabridalseamstress

In this week's episode of Live! with Fefe & Freddy, things got real, funny, and a little chaotic as the duo covered everything from government shutdown drama to reality TV madness.Freddy shared his “Just the Tip” segment on how watching reality TV — like Married at First Sight and Love Island — can actually help strengthen relationships (yes, really). He broke down red flags, communication lessons, and how shared “trash TV” moments can spark meaningful conversations about love, boundaries, and self-awareness.Fefe took “A Closer Look at Current Events,” diving into Veterans Day reflections, same-sex marriage rights, and the ongoing government shutdown. From military family stories to the latest political updates, she highlighted the need for empathy, awareness, and advocacy — even when the system feels broken. The pair also caught up on local community events, including the Queer Center's Fall Fest and the Emperor's Ball, and shared plenty of laughs over food fails, social media pet peeves, and the chaos of parenting and burnout. It's your midweek mix of humor, heart, and real talk — only on Live! with Fefe & Freddy.

This week takes us to Mecosta County, where you can find stunning rolling hills perfect for senic drives, fresh water lakes to fish on, and one exciting university where you can study both gaming and hospitality. So just where the heck is Mecosta County? Tune in to find out.You probably do know where Mecosta is, but not as a county. It's the home seat to Big Rapids, and to Ferris State University. We talk about both on this episode of Behind the Mitten, kicking off the show with the vivacious Dr. Bill Pink, President of Ferris State University. We always enjoy hearing what is new on campus, and we'll just say that Ferris does not disappoint. From exciting new buildings, including a unique gaming arena, to innovative majors that you won't find anywhere else, Ferris stands poised to create a great new generation of Michiganders. And did we mention that the Ferris State Bulldog's were the National Football D2 Champs last year? We didn't? Don't worry, Dr. Pink will.Next, we head to local icon Schuberg's restaurant for both burgers and great conversation. We meet Josh Pyles, local man about everything, who shares upcoming events from both Big Rapids Parks and Recreation and the downtown business association, because he works with both. He's really looking forward to October 25 for Fall Fest a family friendly event featuring inflatables, trunk-or-treating and more. Amanda Starkey and Jenifer Faris Jones from the Mecosta County Visitors Bureua stop by to talk fall with y'all. Turns out that Mecosta County is the perfect spot for gorgeous fall drives, whether you are in a car or on a motorcycle, which these two ladies are fans of and own and ride themselves. They share some of their favorite roads to travel, as well as why this community has had a hold on their hearts their wholes lives. Finally, we have two absolute Ferris firecrackers on, Amy Dorey, associate professor in Hospitality Management and Dr. Karyn Kio, also an associate professor in hospitality. We discuss why this major is so important to Michigan tourism, some of the innovative ways they engage their students, as well as their top spots to visit in Mecosta County. The Inn at Rustic Gate employs many Bulldogs in their hospitality journey, they both really like The Peaks at Canadian Lakes, and they give a super shoutout to the Big Rapids Culver's, where students go to learn systems that work. Thank you ladies for preparing our next generation of workers, they are in excellent hands.
