My guest for today's episode is Agnes Ngetich: the 10,000m world record holder on the road, the reigning World Cross Country champion, and one of the most compelling athletes in distance running right now. She is 25 years old. She grew up in rural Kenya, lost her father to cancer at 10, and spent much of her adolescence working on farms and carrying bags of charcoal to help feed her family. She missed school to earn money. She showed up to race barefoot and hungry anyway.A coach named Ruth Bundotich saw something in her at 14 and opened a door. From that point, the progression has been relentless: junior titles in Kenya, an African Championships silver, a World U20 bronze, and then the slow build toward the longer distances where she now lives. In 2024 in Valencia, she ran 28:46 for 10 kilometers on the road — the first woman ever under 29 minutes — a record she had to earn three times: once on a course that turned out to be 25 meters short, once in atrocious weather in Lille where she fell eight seconds shy, and finally in Valencia where it was made official. In January 2026, she won the World Cross Country title in Tallahassee by 42 seconds — the second-largest winning margin in the history of the event.Last weekend here in New York, she came back after getting hypothermia at the United NYC Half in March and ran a course record 30:07 at the Mini 10K, blasting the first mile in 4:47 and pulling away from Hellen Obiri before the race was even a kilometer in.In this conversation that we recorded while she was in town, we dive into her childhood, the coach who changed her life, getting to the point of running world records, her World Cross Country dominance, what she thinks of the marathon and more.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavezGuest: Agnes Ngetich | @jebet.agnesProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSXENDURANCE: Xendurance Protein is designed specifically to help your body recover, rebuild, and get stronger after training. This week Alex and Randy go over all their recent favorites from the site, talking along the way about a heavy-breathing Fairlane, the terrible-or-terrific teals of the early '90s, a bullet-riddled Jeep, a raft of special Z-cars, and one of our favorite sellers. They take a lengthy detour into oddball induction setups before returning to the special Cunningham race car on the site, which prompts memories of Alex's traumatic childhood visit to The Briggs Cunningham Automotive Museum.Next, assumed clone status; missing a Rallye in Tahoe; a brief review of '80s box flares, followed by an about-face to perhaps the curviest car ever made; a solid parking lot scene on taco night; fulfilling a 60-year dream for Alex's dad; a visit to Charlie Goodman's place; Randy's upcoming pod episode with Rob Fisher ahead of our appearance at the Hillsborough Concours, the longest-running event of its kind in California; our July gathering at the Rose Cup at PIR (also the location of the first-ever BaT event); and this summer's BaT sponsorship of the vintage weekend festivities in Elkhart Lake.Follow along! This week, Alex and Beck grill Randy about his recent trip to Europe, which entailed among other treats watching a BaT alumni 993 GT2 ripping it up at Monza; ripping it up himself in a Falcon on the track, on the Autostrada, and all over Europe; experiencing general Falcon love across the pond; and wishing he'd brought a bigger suitcase. The trio talk about the recent increase in BaT inventory in the EU, including skinny Porsches and perhaps the ultimate E36 Touring; how to pronounce "959" (hint: it sounds much like "wow!"); comment melees of yore; a host of recent collections on BaT; the best GTO; aspiring to 20-car Fox-body ownership; 356 price drops and Shelby price creep; driving into the sunset on Route 66; a Nomad kind of blue; some stellar recent sales; the downside of our company's name; a semi-sheepish (and obvious to anyone who speaks with him routinely) admission from Randy; and extremely fast snail with an Audi wrapped around it.Follow along! Czabe welcomes two of his favorites, author and bourbon expert FRED MINNICK, along with inventor of the "Whiskey Weekend" PAUL CHARCHIAN, to talk about a whole lotta stuff. Starting with Fred's assertion that, despite the Kentucky Derby's obvious "glow up" with more money, more eyeballs, and more hype, it may be losing its soul. Also, Charch is wondering why McDonald's plans to eliminate the self-serve soda fountains in its restaurants by 2032. While Czabe just marvels at... horses. The Seattle Seahawks reset the top end of the NFL wide receiver market by extending Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a four-year, $168.6 million deal, making him the highest-paid WR ever and effectively keeping him in Seattle for six more seasons. The contract structure is team-friendly early, with manageable cap hits now and a deal that could look like a bargain as the market rises. Seattle also matches Jacksonville's two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Jake Bobo, locking in a depth piece with incentives and guarantees. The contract reduces the cap hit for Bobo in 2026 and keeps him locked in for 2027. Is Devon Witherspoon the next guy to get a new deal and could an looming ownership change be propelling deals to get done sooner than later?
Charlie Oakes is our Gen Z movie correspondent. He joins Jason to talk about a record-breaking trailer release, an exciting film in theaters this weekend, and if you're at home, which Oscar winners to watch.
If Rookie cards were a thing in the sport of Track & Field, then Foster Malleck's would be one you'd kill to get your hands on. After a 6 year NCAA career at Boston University where it took right up until his final collegiate season to qualify for the national championships, the Kitchener Ontario native wasted no time making a splash in his first year as pro. Less than a week after his final race in the BU Kit, Malleck was back on the track in a different shade of red, this time representing Canada at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing China. His first-ever appearance at a senior international championship would kick off a rookie year as a pro that has been, quite literally, one for the record books. Since Nanjing, Malleck has lowered his Personal bests at the 1500, Mile, 2000, and 3000m while breaking three Canadian records and becoming the second-fastest Canadian in the 1500m of all time. Add to that a NACAC Gold Medal last summer and trip to the World Championship semi-finals in Tokyo in September and it's safe to say that jump to the big leagues was not a leap too far for the 24 year old. Now, a trip around the sun and countless laps around the track later, and Malleck returns to the World Indoor Championships this week in Poland no longer a fresh faced rookie but a battle-hardened vet ready to mix it up with the very best in the sport. We sat down with former Southern Utah University QB, and long-time E4A member Justin Miller. He reflected on how the principles of E4A have shaped him and helped him as he has navigated his athletic career. We also talked about the difference of being present and being engaged.Key Takeaways from the Podcast Being present is not enough—be engaged. True influence comes when we give our full attention to the people around us rather than simply being in the same room. Resilience matters more than a perfect path. Justin's journey to college football included injuries and unexpected turns, but persistence and “stick-to-it-iveness” helped him stay the course. Influence multiplies across generations. Living good principles today can create a ripple effect that blesses people for years to come. Athletes have a powerful opportunity to serve. The spotlight that comes with sports can be used to bless others rather than simply seek recognition. Real impact requires action. Simply being around people is not enough—service, effort, and stepping out of our comfort zones are what truly make a difference0:16 Meet College QB Justin Miller0:33 Growing Up in California & Moving to Utah2:36 Snow College, Romania, and a Broken Throwing Wrist5:25 Walking On at Southern Utah7:39 Turning Around the Southern Utah Football Program10:52 How Justin Discovered Especially for Athletes15:16 Life Lessons Sports Teach You20:16 The Power of Resilience & “Stick-to-It-iveness”32:16 Lessons Learned Outside of Football42:16 Taking Risks Instead of Playing It Safe57:16 Seek to Bless, Not Impress1:04:46 Final Lessons from Justin's Journey⸻Especially for Athletes: Website: https://e4a.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EspeciallyForAthletes/ X: https://x.com/E4Afamily Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/especiallyforathletes/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmbWc7diAvstLMfjBL-bMMQJoin the conversation using #E4APodcast⸻Credits: Hosted by Dustin Smith & Shad Martin Produced by Shad Martin and IMAGINATE STUDIO

A good mantra can change a season, and ours hits different: earn it in the winter, win it in the spring. We start with a candid weather check and slide straight into the nuts and bolts of racing life—updated Wine & Dine registration flows, random queue placement, why sellout times barely budged, and how our community rallied with Zoom rooms, phone trees, and charity backups We map out Princess Weekend long runs, Springtime Surprise magic miles, and the kind of speed work that shakes off a post-Dopey lull and brings your spring fitness back online. Then everything sharpens into one story. Heather, a push-rim athlete many of you know, takes us inside the Donna 110—eight laps Saturday and a marathon Sunday—finished in historic Florida cold with frozen hydration lines and sheets of ice. She shares how triple-stack long runs, bike guides, a coach pacing a late lap, and a brand-new custom chair made the difference. The result: the first wheelchair finisher in race history, the only woman finisher this year, and a heady mix of grit, humor, and joy that included communion at mile one and counting dogs to stay present. Her perspective on adaptive sport is powerful and refreshingly inclusive: we're all out here doing hard things, visible or not, and the win is showing up with purpose. We round things out with Loopy Looper team interest surging, Tom's strength challenge for accountability and smarter training, and Fluffy Fizzies returning to the Expo with upgraded foot care, themed bath bombs, and easy preorder pickup. The race report delivers a streak of firsts and PRs—from stadium sprints to donut runs and frigid New England grit—that remind us how many ways there are to measure progress. The Framber experience is now over- Now that it's over, how do we look at Framber's time as a Houston Astro?
It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record-setting run by defencemen, Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and how everyone thought the undrafted centre fared in his first game as an Oiler. While he played only 7:43 in TOI, Samanski was noticeable in his first game in the bigs, and the boys spent a few minutes talking about how he didn't look out of place. Given that he played two years of pro hockey in Germany, it definitely looked like he was comfortable playing in that third-line role.Changing gears, we looked at how the Oilers set two NHL records in Monday's game against the Ducks. Starting with the four goals by defencemen in a span of only 3:49, it was wild to see Edmonton's d-men getting into the rush with that much space as often as they were. From there, we looked at the back-to-back hat tricks by Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm, and how it was the first time in NHL history where two defencemen scored hat tricks in consecutive games. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your San Jose Sharks history? This game was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure. Hosted on Acast. At the age of 45, seven time grand slam winner Venus Williams broke the Australian Open record as the oldest-ever women’s player in the tournament’s history. Williams first competed in the Australian Open when she was 17, three years before her opponent, 24-year-old Olga Danilovic was born. Even though Williams ultimately lost the match, she walked off the court to a standing ovation with a big smile and wave, saying she was really proud of her effort because she’s playing better with each match. On this episode of the Three-Inning Save podcast, the Dodgers continued to swim in the deep end of the free agent pool, signing Kyle Tucker for a staggering $240 million over four years. Tucker, who turned 29 on Saturday, was considered the top free agent on the market, and he stabilizes a Dodgers outfield that struggled to produce in 2025, especially in the corners. He joins Andy Pages as the only Dodgers regular position players younger than 30 years old. Tucker has two opt-outs in the deal, but not until 2027, meaning the Dodgers lineup (and starting rotation) are nearly completely all signed for at least the next two seasons (except for third baseman Max Muncy, who is a free agent after the season). The cost is exorbitant, but the Dodgers have been comfortably in that space now for multiple years running. Efficiency isn't necessarily the goal of each deal, as the Dodgers in signing both Tucker and closer Edwin Díaz opted for the easiest route, signing the best player available because they had the financial wherewithal to do so. Ep. 965 - For the second time in three games, Trey McBride set three different single-season records. Unfortunately, and it's happened too often this season, McBride wasn't able to fully enjoy his accomplishments. He's about winning games more than anything, and the Cardinals just haven't won enough games in 2025. The latest defeat came Sunday in Cincinnati, 37-14. Craig Grialou and Paul Calvisi, after a discussion on McBride and a quick word on the season-finale at the Rams, detail what they saw; the offense's inability to stay on the field, the defense's inability to get off the field. Plus, what did Cody Simon, who earned Paul's Angry Bird Award, Will Johnson and Denzel Burke show that may carry over to next season?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Now, a study of IRS data by the National Taxpayers Union Foundation found that California is losing a taxpayer roughly every minute, as states like Florida, Texas, and North Carolina attract new residents due to lower taxes and higher standards of living. In comparison, Florida gains a new taxpayer every 2 minutes and 9 seconds while Texas gains one every 2 minutes and 53 seconds. The result has been a bonanza for Florida, which is now collecting $4 billion more per year for its budget. The states losing taxpayers at the fastest rate are California, New York, and Illinois. Democrats AND Republicans agreed. The bill introduced tight immigration quotas, new visa requirements, the Border Patrol, and outright banned immigrants from certain countries that we viewed as incompatible with our culture. It dramatically reduced the number of people coming into the country, and provided an opportunity for the recent “great wave” of immigrants to assimilate. By the 1940’s and 1950’s, American society thrived with a boomimg economy, rising middle class, common culture and limited immigration. The Act was in place until 1965. Since then, we have experienced decades of *historic* immigration, both legal and illegal. Today we have higher levels of foreign-born than the early 1900's by both raw number and percentage of population. This mass immigration has also included vastly different cultures than the mostly Europeans we accepted then. It's obvious that we once again need to make a national policy shift, and it should be bipartisan… It's time for another Immigration Act. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1992591518314668440?s=20 https://twitter.com/EndWokeness/status/1992794921569517639?s=20 DOGE https://twitter.com/ElectionWiz/status/1992754205308944525?s=20 https://twitter.com/drawandstrike/status/1992765443052814719?s=20 based on recent reports, it’s true that DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) has been integrated into many federal agencies through embedded teams, staff, or operational units—often described as “DOGE offices” or equivalents—that continue its mission of efficiency, waste reduction, and oversight. This decentralization followed the quiet disbandment of DOGE as a standalone entity around November 2025, ahead of its original July 2026 expiration. While sources vary on the exact scope (e.g., “all” vs. “many” agencies), the embedding is widespread and includes: Office of Personnel Management (OPM): Acts as a central hub for DOGE’s workforce reduction directives, with embedded staff handling HR overhauls and agency-wide efficiency mandates. Office of Management and Budget (OMB): Institutionalizes DOGE’s tools for deregulation, AI audits, and budget cuts, with teams funded through agency IT modernization funds. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS): Former DOGE staffers in roles like chief technology officer, focusing on fraud detection and program streamlining. State Department: Embedded personnel overseeing foreign assistance and efficiency reforms. Department of Education: DOGE teams with access to federal student loan data and other systems for waste elimination. Treasury Department (including IRS): Staff integrated for system access and financial oversight. Other agencies: Reports mention integration in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Naval Research, General Services Administration (GSA), Social Security Administration, and dozens more, with over 100 former DOGE staffers reassigned across the government. Some agencies were directed to establish minimum teams of four specialists (e.g., engineer, HR expert, lawyer, and lead) coordinating with a rebranded U.S. DOGE Service in the Executive Office of the President. This model makes DOGE’s influence more pervasive and harder to dismantle, as it’s no longer a single target but distributed “watchdogs” with data access and decision-making roles. Critics, including Democrats, have raised concerns about political influence from these embedded staffers. Overall, while not every minor agency may have a formal “DOGE office,” the embedding affects a broad swath of the federal government, with ongoing activities like contract terminations (e.g., $1.9 billion in recent cancellations). Geopolitical https://twitter.com/disclosetv/status/1992964442380779549?s=20 https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/1992964685071839677?s=20 Barbary Pirates were a raiding group of true pirates who captured American and European ships off of the North African coast, stole the ships and cargo, and enslaved or ransomed the crews. The pirates were generally under the control of the Ottoman Tripolitania, and many were true privateers: i.e., civilian ships and civilian crews causing great harm to American interests. So President Thomas Jefferson sent the Navy and the Marine Corps to North Africa to blow those private ships and crews the hell out of the water. Tommy J. didn't have Predator drones like Trump is using to blow narcoterrorists out of the water who are trying to slaughter hundreds of thousands of Americans with fentanyl, but Tommy did have some kick-ass Marines to blow pirates out of the water who were enslaving American citizens. Right on the shores of Tripoli. Hence the song. But Democrats are too stupid to know what that means. ‘Murica. Blowing up civilian ships since 1801, all to protect America. So how about it, you lobotomite Democrats? Were Tommy J.'s orders lawful or unlawful? We all know the answer, even though you won't admit it. Lawful. Just like Trump's lawful preservation of American lives from the scourge of fentanyl. Learn a little history, you Democrat goons. Now go write the Marines' Hymn 5,000 times on the blackboard until you learn your lesson. War/Peace Europe’s Counter-Plan For Ukraine Peace Leaves Door Wide Open For NATO Admission Even as the Trump White House is busy in Europe trying to get NATO and EU states on board its 28-point peace plan which controversially demands the Ukrainian side cede territory, the Europeans have leaked their own counter-plan which proposes much less in the way of compromise with Russia. The UK, France, and Germany have put forward their own counter-proposal, and the draft differs sharply from the US version. Like with prior proposed deals, it contains terms which Moscow is expected to flatly reject, mostly notably it does not provide guarantees that Ukraine will stay out of NATO, and also absent is the ceding of any territory. While Trump’s plan makes clear that Ukraine must renounce ever joining NATO, the European draft states that Ukraine's potential NATO membership “depends on the consensus of NATO members, which does not exist.” This intentionally ambiguous language of course leaves leaves the door wide open, dependent on when such consensus is reached.
