Each episode is based around a chosen Saint or Angel, Demon or Devil, Herb, Stone, Geomantic Figure, Tarot Trump, and more as the intersections and trajectories a…
Happy Feast of St Dismas! A second episode this year?! It's almost like a twin birth! Brought to you by the Feast of the Penitent (hereafter “Good”) Thief Dismas, the Demon Valefor, the ever elusive flower Pimpernel, the lively Turquoise, the Magical weaponry known as the Arma Christi, the geomantic figure of Acquisitio and its corresponding Odu Ofun, the tarot trump of Justice/Adjustment, and for our dead magicians, those holy mothers of Spiritualism, the Fox Sisters. Stay safe and sane in these times, friends. Special thanks to Mark Steadman for his continued editing and help in getting these episodes out and leveled and sounding like we know what we're doing (we DON'T!). Excited to keep broadcasting, and we hope you enjoy the Good Thief's Mercurial Jovity and a Happy Spring to those in the North, a Happy Fall to those in the South, and happiness for all those in between in the belt loops of the world. Ever excited to be back, friends (and enemies)!
Happy Feast of St Blaise! Two years later, in the wake of the Great Sick, we now slouch towards Bethlehem once again. Brought to you by the Feast of Saint Blaise, the Demon Syrach/Exu Calunga, the goodly tree Birch, the mineral Gold, the geomantic figure of Rubeus (and a splash of Ika/Metanla), the magical practice of Divination, the nameless arcana of the Tarot (okay…. THE DEATH CARD), and the often notorious and always beloved John Dee. A wish for continued good health and good spirits to you all! We have had help this episode with our mastering of our soundses- many thanks to Mark Steadman for his editing and level masteries! We're also playing with a theme song- based in the Coptic Golgotha hymn- as well as intercalary soundlets and such. More to come! We're excited to be back, friends!
A glorious Walpurgisnacht to you all. Today's episode is brought to you by the Feast of Saint Catherine of Siena (on her pre-1969 Feast Day with a guest appearance by Walpurga), the demon Ashtaroth (and maybe the King and Queen of the Seven Crossroads), the herb Mandrake, the stone Quartz, the geomantic figure of Albus (and a side of Oturupon), the practice of Night Flight, the tarot trump of the Moon, and the witch Isobel Gowdie! Good health and good spirits to you all- wash your hands!
And….. we’re back! After a nine month hiatus, pregnant with possibility, we have a new episode! Two and a half hours of topic meandering brought to you by the Virgin Mary's Bodily Assumption into Heaven, the Demon Hicpath and Exu das Matas, the Herb Myrtle, the Stone Moonstone, the Magic of Possession, the Geomantic Figure of Fortuna Major and the Odu Owonrin/Owani, the Tarot card of the World, and the Witch and Magician Aradia. We are happy to be back in recording mode and a few more episodes planned for this year up our collective sleevies (where the King keeps his armies)…. Brought to you by the Feast of the Saint Raphael and the Archangel of the same name; the Demon Asmodeus; the Geomantic Figure Tristitia (and the Odú Okana); the stone Labradorite; the herb Lavender; traditions of Learning Magic- i.e. magic to help you learn; the Tarot Trump of the Chariot; and the Saint and Doctor and Abbess Hildegard of Bingen as our dead magician. Behold, our second golgoth-a-trois! The talented Vanessa Irena of knifesex is with us for this episode- and how fitting as Vanessa and Al teamed up recently to write a booklet on the eponymous Archangel Raphael, available from Hadean Press as part of their ‘Guides to the Underworld’ series. We will continue to update the website and our facebook page when footnotes become available.
Merry Cyprianmas, dear hearts! In honour of Cyprian of Antioch, infamous patron saint of necromancings, we have resurrected a big old extended episode from the RFG crypts of unpublished recordings, celebrating the Sorcerer Saint Cipriano! Along the boneyard way we sing the praises of the mineral Jet, the herb Asafoetida aka Devil's Dung, the geomantic figure Cauda Draconis and the Odu Ogunda, the Major Arcana The Magician, the magics of Grimoires, and the devil Hael and the Exu of Quimbanda - the spirit said to have taught Cyprian his black magics - Exu Meia Noite. Salve! We recorded this Cyprianmas episode back in 2018. One of the reasons this one has laid in deathless slumber, awaiting reanimation, for so long was a disconcerting shift in sound quality between the two sessions in which it was recorded; the first half of the episode was captured live, the second over the interwebs. In fact, you might notice our sudden shift towards various indeterminable continental accents in the Sean Connery sibilants (we decided to favor the lithp rather than be inaudible). Perhaps the Sorcerer Saint reminds even your esteemed hosts to never take themselves too seriously…. But mostly, we are again incredibly grateful to Mark Steadman for his excellent sound wizardry in making this 'cast as listenable a pod as possible out of our old bad recording habits! Other than spruced up sound, we have decided to chop up this resurrected zombie of an episode as little as possible and present as is, was, and shall be. We hope you don't miss the new theme tune too much. Once again, the opinions expressed in these recordings are four years old at this point, and we reserve the right - like any four year-old - to abandon them in a Walmart car park if they now prove overly disagreeable or obnoxious... We sincerely hope, on this blessed Feast of Cyprian and Justina, that you find something shared, something inspiring, or simply something quite interesting in our resuscitated breath, banter, and bones to pick. May looking over your old work inspire you to new; and if you're lucky (like us!), with a lithp.
Brought to you by the Feast of the Saint Roch; the Demon Frucissiere and the Spirit Exu do Cemitério; the Geomantic Figure Fortuna Minor (and the Odú Irosún); the mineral Carnelian; the herb Rue; the broad sweep of traditions and folklore of Plague Magic; the Tarot Trump of the Sun; and the Four Thieves (of vinegar fame) for our Dead Magicians.

Brought to you by the Feast of the Saints Peter and Paul and the saints of the same names; the Dead Magician and Pope Honorius; the herb Basil; the mineral Sapphire; the Tarot Trump of the Hierophant; and good intentions (but temporal failure) on getting to the demon Serguthy (and the Exu Mirim), the Geomantic Figure Puer (and the Odú Ireté), and Magical Swords. More for the future!

And... we're back! While we are still figuring out the missing episodes, we're returning with our fifth (technically) episode! Brought to you by the Feast of Saint Lucy and its namesake; the demon Clistheret and Exu Tronqueira, Casanova; the herb Mistletoe, the mineral Amethyst, the Geomantic Figure of Laetitia (and the Odú Obará), a brief chitter on Oil Lamps, and the Tarot Trump of the Judgement... We will continue to update the website and our facebook page when footnotes become available.
Our third episode had to be divided into two parts, we ended up with broad topics and broad tangents- this is PART TWO of TWO. These twin episodes are brought to you by the Feast of Candlemas: the Saint and Goddess Brigid; the Emperor/Angel/Fallen One/Exu Lucifer, Working with Dead Magicians (a topic finally discussed!)- specifically Adam and Eve in this episode; the herb Dandelion, the mineral Milkstone, the Geomantic Figure of Acquisitio (and the Odú Ofún), the Art and Practice of Candle Magic, and the Tarot Trump of the Star... This is one of our "missing episodes"- We learned the hard way about back up with these episodes, as our files were corrupted and lost for the better part of the year. The sound quality is not as high as we would like, but here at the end of 2017, we are happy to *finally* present the long, long lost Candlemas episode(s). Cheers! (Forgive any repeated material... we left some things in for broader concept discussion while editing these even after the December episode - even *we* forgot what we talked about during these episodes because they were lost for so long!)
