Der Mai steht vor der Tür. Ein Monat mit vielen Brauchtumsfesten. Den Auftakt macht der Tanz in den Mai, mancherorts auch als Walpurgisnacht gefeiert. In manchen Gemeinden wird ein Maibaum erreichtet. Zu seinen Füßen feiert die Dorfgemeinschaft sich selbst und die Tradition. Ein Brauchtumsfest stiftet Identität. Es drückt in Symbolen aus, was im Leben wichtig ist: Die Liebe zum Beispiel, wenn junge Männer ihre Liebste mit Birkenzweigen beschenken. Manche Tradition ist schon viele hundert Jahre alt. Manchmal wissen die Heutigen gar nicht mehr, wo der Ursprung einer Tradition liegt. Etliches Brauchtum hat sogar vorchristliche oder naturreligiöse Wurzeln. Und trotzdem erweisen sich einige Traditionen als erstaunlich modern. Da verbindet eine Sängerin das Jodeln mit modernen Pop-Sounds. Junge Leute suchen sich Dirndl und Lederhose und posten das auf Instagram. Kann es sein, dass diese alten Rituale und Brauchtümer uns auch seelisch guttun, weil sie dem Leben Kontinuität geben, weil sie Gemeinschaft feiern, weil sie wichtige Werte zelebrieren? Kann es sein, dass gelebtes Brauchtum die Resilienz stärkt, so dass wir in unsicheren und unruhigen Zeiten besser durchkommen?

Der Frühling ist da und Beltane steht vor der Tür – oder auch: die Walpurgisnacht. In dieser Episode tauchen Amy und ihre Gesprächspartnerin Heelruna in die faszinierende Welt der modernen Hexen ein.
