Hà Nội lựa chọn giới thiệu tại Đại hội XIV Công đoàn Việt Nam.Trong bối cảnh nền kinh tế Việt Nam đang tăng trưởng mạnh mẽ, nhu cầu sử dụng điện năng trong công nghiệp và dân dụng liên tiếp lập những kỷ lục mới. Bài toán đặt ra cho các doanh nghiệp sản xuất không chỉ là sử dụng điện tiết kiệm, mà còn phải đảm bảo chất lượng điện năng nhằm giảm thiểu nguy cơ gián đoạn vận hành do sự cố. Trước thách thức đó, nhóm 5 kỹ sư Ngô Ngọc Vinh, Lê Minh Tuấn, Đỗ Thanh Bình, Hà Đức Nhẹn, Nguyễn Văn Hà, Công ty TNHH Điện Stanley Việt Nam (thành phố Hà Nội) đã nghiên cứu và triển khai thành công giải pháp: "Lắp đặt bộ lọc sóng hài thụ động cộng hưởng đơn tại tủ điện tổng".

Nhưng có một “đỉnh núi” mà chàng trai người Mông, đã phải leo suốt gần 30 năm qua, ngọn núi ấy không nằm trên bản đồ, nó nằm ở ngay trong chính hình hài nhỏ bé của em. “Các bạn cứ cao dần lớn dần lên, mình thì vẫn giữ nguyên với cái vóc dáng như thế thì mình cũng cảm thấy rất là tự ti, cũng cảm thấy buồn khi mình không lớn được như các bạn. Lúc đấy cũng có các thầy cô cũng tư vấn cho mình người nhỏ như thế này thì học về máy tính là phù hợp nhất. Mình phải khắc phục cái khó khăn đấy, bởi vì mình người nhỏ như thế này mà bây giờ mình dừng học thì cũng không thể làm được cái gì khác. Mình phải bắt buộc phải cố gắng lên. Trong thế giới của những người khổng lồ, Dì đã chọn cách không cúi đầu.Giữa văn phòng của Công ty chỉnh sửa ảnh Imagtor tại Hà Nội, có một hình dáng nhỏ bé ngồi lọt thỏm trên chiếc ghế tựa. Nếu chỉ nhìn thoáng qua, nhiều người sẽ nghĩ đó là một cậu bé 4-5 tuổi đang mải mê chơi điện tử. Nhưng không, đó là Sùng A Dì, một chuyên gia kiểm soát chất lượng (QC) đang tỉ mỉ soi từng điểm ảnh trên một màn hình máy tính lớn. Với thân hình nhỏ bé nhưng lại có trí tuệ của người trưởng thành hơn 30 tuổi, Sùng A Dì luôn nhận được người đồng nghiệp quý mến và nể phục. Không phải vì vóc dáng đặc biệt, mà bởi nghị lực sống mạnh mẽ ẩn trong hình hài bé nhỏ ấy.Sinh ra ở bản Hồ Nhì Pá, Mù Cang Chải, căn bệnh liệt tuyến yên bẩm sinh đã “nhốt” Dì trong hình hài một đứa trẻ. Năm 18 tuổi, khi bạn bè đồng trang lứa đã trở thành những chàng trai H'Mông lực lưỡng, có thể đi nương, đi rẫy, thì Dì vẫn chỉ cao ngang thắt lưng họ. Nỗi mặc cảm ấy giống như lớp sương mù dày đặc bao phủ lấy cuộc đời em. “Thấy trên TikTok, YouTube thì biết bạn ấy nhỏ rồi, nhưng ra ngoài gặp trực tiếp mới thấy bạn ấy nhỏ đến nhường nào. Nhưng nhỏ mà giỏi, nhỏ mà có ý chí vươn lên khủng khiếp. Nhìn bạn ấy làm được, mình tự nhủ bản thân phải cố gắng gấp đôi.” Nguyễn Thị Mai, một đồng nghiệp của Sùng A Dì chia sẻ.Để có được sự nể trọng ấy, A Dì đã phải trải qua những năm tháng học bán trú từ lớp 6. Hãy tưởng tượng một đứa trẻ cao chỉ hơn 1 mét, tự nhóm lửa, tự vác những bó củi to hơn cả người mình, tự giặt giũ và tự học. Đôi chân ngắn ấy đã đi qua bao con dốc để tìm đến với con chữ, để rồi chiếc máy tính xuất hiện như một “cánh cửa thần kỳ”, nơi chiều cao không còn là rào cản.Từ bản làng vùng cao đến giảng đường đại học rồi xuống Hà Nội lập nghiệp, hành trình ấy với một người bình thường vốn đã không dễ. Không ai trả lương, nhưng chị vẫn âm thầm làm công việc này bằng tất cả trách nhiệm và lòng trắc ẩn với cộng đồng.Mỗi ngày, trên những tuyến đường của Hà Nội, hàng triệu lượt phương tiện qua lại. Giữa dòng xe hối hả ấy, ít ai để ý rằng chỉ một chiếc đinh nhỏ nằm trên mặt đường cũng có thể trở thành nguyên nhân của những vụ tai nạn nguy hiểm. Chương trình Chân dung cuộc sống hôm nay kể câu chuyện về chị Nguyễn Thanh Thu ở xã Vĩnh Thanh, Hà Nội- người phụ nữ thường xuyên thu gom đinh trên đường phố suốt hơn chục năm qua.Chị Nguyễn Thanh Thu sinh năm 1974 có khuôn mặt hiền hậu, đôi mắt sáng và mái tóc xoăn tự nhiên; Tuy dáng người nhỏ nhắn, hơi gầy, chỉ cao khoảng 1m50, nhưng chị lại có thể điều khiển chiếc xe máy kéo theo một phương tiện hút đinh có trọng lượng tới gần 1 tạ. Hành trình thiện nguyện này đã lặng lẽ dâng hiến cho cuộc đời suốt hơn chục năm qua.Bất kể khi nắng rát trưa hè hay gió rét đêm đông, cứ rảnh rỗi là chị Nguyễn Thanh Thu lại đi thu gom đinh trên nhiều tuyến đường ở Hà Nội. Chị lựa chọn giờ nghỉ trưa hoặc đêm muộn để không ảnh hưởng đến việc tham gia giao thông của mọi người, chỉ với một mong muốn không có người lái xe nào bị thủng xăm, thủng lốp do những chiếc đinh hoặc ốc vít trên đường.Để có thể rong ruổi khắp các ngả đường làm công việc thiện nguyện, từ năm 2019, chị Thu bắt đầu tìm hiểu cách làm xe hút đinh, nhưng phải tới năm 2024, chiếc xe đặc biệt này mới được hoàn thiện. Chiếc xe hút đinh tiêu tốn gần chục triệu đồng- số tiền không nhỏ đối với một người lao động tự do như chị Thu đã đủ thấy tâm huyết của người phụ nữ nhỏ bé này trong việc thu gom định để những chiếc xe trên đường tránh được nạn “đinh tặc”.23 giờ đêm mùa hè nóng bức, trên tuyến đường Võ Chí Công hướng về cầu Nhật Tân, dòng xe đã thưa dần. Thi thoảng mới có vài chiếc container rú ga lao qua trong đêm tối. Giữa khoảng không hun hút ấy, một chiếc xe máy cũ chạy chầm chậm sát mép đường; Kéo theo một chiếc xe lôi được gắn thanh nam châm lớn gần chạm mặt đường. Mỗi khi khối xe này lăn bánh, tiếng “lách cách” khẽ vang lên, đó là âm thanh của những chiếc đinh, vít, mảnh sắt vụn bị hút vào thanh nam châm. Manuela Ceballos' new book Between Dung and Blood: Purity, Sainthood, and Power in the Early Modern Western Mediterranean (University of California Press, 2025) engages with the life and legacies of two sixteenth-century saints; the Spanish Christian Teresa de Jesús (also known as Teresa of Avila) and the Moroccan Sufi Sidi Ridwan al-Januwi. The book draws from rich Arabic and Spanish sources that moves us between Morocco and Iberia. In the process, we learn that these saints both descent from families of converts and as such blood and bodily pollution operated as material and metaphoric symbols to define their identities. Through this generative comparison, we see how constructions of blood and dung circulate across these varied but entangled temporal geographies to constitute notions of impurity and purity, such as in the case of the deathly hemorrhaging experienced by Teresa. In end though blood is used to set different boundaries around religious or racial identities, and even at times gender norms. As such, the discourses that are utilized for such argumentations are not stable, and so blood and how it is deployed is not the same across the stories of these two saints and their enduring legacies nor does it refract power consistently. This book will be of interest to those who think about embodiment, material culture, the early modern Mediterranean world, and Christian-Muslim mysticism. Manuela Ceballos' new book Between Dung and Blood: Purity, Sainthood, and Power in the Early Modern Western Mediterranean (University of California Press, 2025) engages with the life and legacies of two sixteenth-century saints; the Spanish Christian Teresa de Jesús (also known as Teresa of Avila) and the Moroccan Sufi Sidi Ridwan al-Januwi. The book draws from rich Arabic and Spanish sources that moves us between Morocco and Iberia. In the process, we learn that these saints both descent from families of converts and as such blood and bodily pollution operated as material and metaphoric symbols to define their identities. Through this generative comparison, we see how constructions of blood and dung circulate across these varied but entangled temporal geographies to constitute notions of impurity and purity, such as in the case of the deathly hemorrhaging experienced by Teresa. In end though blood is used to set different boundaries around religious or racial identities, and even at times gender norms. As such, the discourses that are utilized for such argumentations are not stable, and so blood and how it is deployed is not the same across the stories of these two saints and their enduring legacies nor does it refract power consistently. This book will be of interest to those who think about embodiment, material culture, the early modern Mediterranean world, and Christian-Muslim mysticism. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 21 of 22 churches destroyed in Christian town in Myanmar since coup On January 30, the Burma Research Institute released a scathing report detailing destructive attacks, murders, and harassment of Christians and churches since the military coup in 2021 that forcefully took control of Myanmar, reports International Christian Concern. Some of the key findings include: 21 out of 22 churches in Thantlang Town, a majority-Christian town, have been destroyed and the town's population displaced since 2021. More than 340 churches and Christian buildings have been destroyed. 149 Christians murdered and 218 imprisoned from 2022 to 2025. One unnamed church leader, who is still living inside Myanmar, testified powerfully that the faithful are now scattered across jungles, remote areas, and informal shelters, struggling to preserve their faith and communal life under constant threat and insecurity. Pastor in India forced to eat cow dung After accusing a pastor in Odisha, India of forcefully converting Hindus to Christianity, a group of Hindu nationalists forced him to eat cow dung and drink sewer water, reports International Christian Concern. The incident occurred on January 4th, but only became widely known in recent days, prompting nationwide outrage and criticism. A mob of 40 people, reportedly affiliated with the Bajrang Dal — the militant wing of the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh — stormed a home during a prayer meeting in Parjang village, and accused the pastor of conducting “forced religious conversions.” Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik was dragged from the house and beaten with sticks. His face was smeared with red vermilion. Sandals were hung around his neck. He was then paraded through the village for nearly two hours. Pastor Naik was eventually taken to a local Hindu temple, where his hands were tied to a metal rod, and he was forced to consume cow dung and drink water from a sewer. They also tried to force the pastor to chant Hindu slogans, but he refused to do so. In a statement on X, Pinarayi Vijayan, the chief minister of Kerala, wrote, “Forcing a human being to eat cow dung is a deeply inhuman act, emboldened by the silence and complicity of BJP-led governments.” Landslide in Congo kills 200 miners A landslide last week collapsed several tunnels at a major coltan mine in eastern Congo, leaving at least 200 people dead in the rebel-controlled site, reports the Associated Press. The collapse occurred  Wednesday at the Rubaya mines, controlled by the Rwanda-backed M23 rebels, after heavy rains caused several hand-dug tunnels in the unregulated mine to cave. The M23 rebels and the Congolese government traded accusations over responsibility as reports from the remote region began to emerge. The collapse is one of the deadliest disasters in years in an area already facing a humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict. Trump announced prayer gathering to rededicate America to God Appearing at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Donald Trump explained that the Department of Education will protect the right of public school students to pray. TRUMP: “Today, I'm also pleased to announce that the Department of Education is officially issuing its new guidance to protect the right to prayer in our public schools. That's a big deal.” (applause) President Trump also announced that Americans are invited to attend a special prayer event on the 250th birthday of America in our nation's capital. TRUMP: “In the last 12 months, young Americans attended church at nearly twice the rate as they did four years ago to support this exciting renewal. This morning, I'm pleased to announce that on May 17, we're inviting Americans from all across the country to come together on our National Mall to pray. We're going to rededicate America as one nation under God.” (applause) Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.” NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie addresses kidnappers of her mother In a tearful video posted Wednesday on Instagram, “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie — flanked by her sister, Annie Guthrie, and her brother, Camron Guthrie, pleaded for more information from the possible kidnapper of her 84-year-old mother, saying her family is “ready to talk,” reports NBC News. GUTHRIE: “Our mom is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you. And we are ready to listen.” In the Instagram video, Savannah thanked the public for “the prayers for our beloved mom,” Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen Saturday night in her home outside Tucson, Arizona. She was reported missing after she did not show up for church.  Nancy had no cognitive issues, and her disappearance was not linked to dementia. Blood was found on the front porch of Guthrie's house. DNA analysis has confirmed the blood belongs to Nancy Guthrie. A doorbell camera to her home was disconnected and removed at 1:47 local time and at 2:28, Guthrie's pacemaker was disconnected from her phone, an app shows. Fox10 TV reports that investigators are taking seriously a ransom note sent to a handful of media outlets connected to her disappearance. Heith Janke, the FBI chief in Phoenix, announced that they have arrested Derrick Callella in Hawthorne, California. Shocking lessons taught on college campuses today And finally, according to Students for Life's January newsletter, college students are being taught shocking lessons – often paid for by our tax dollars. * Harvard University has a class called, "Come hammered. Get Nailed: Safe Sex Under the Influence.” * Ohio State University features a class entitled, "Fighting Abortion Stigma with Planned Parenthood." * And Grand Valley State University has one called “Breaking Up with Purity Culture.” If that's not enough, they'll be encouraged to write Valentine's Day “thank you” cards to abortionists! The truth is many colleges have turned into little more than recruitment centers for Planned Parenthood's bloody business by first encouraging students to experiment sexually and then funneling vulnerable young women to abortionists to “take care of” or murder the natural consequences of sex – precious little babies. Campus missionaries with Students for Life are confronting the Culture of Death with three outreaches. First, setting up Cemetery of Innocents displays that visually expose the gruesome reality of abortion featuring 1,102 bright pink crosses commemorating the preborn babies aborted by Planned Parenthood every day. Second, hosting table events that spark one-on-one conversations with pro-abortion college students. And third, screening the pro-life movie Unplanned which tells the incredible conversion story of Abby Johnson, who was a Planned Parenthood director-turned-staunch-pro-life-activist, after she witnessed a preborn child squirming for its life away from an abortionist's tools during an abortion.
