Welcome to my Memorizing Tarot Card Audio Podcast, where I discuss strategies to learn and memorize Tarot cards. Today's episode is your three-minute lesson on the Reversal of the Death card. Why an audio course=================The purpose of this audio podcast is to help reinforce key messages by audio, while you clean, exercise, mow your lawn, or drive great distances. There is no charge for this content, and it is intended to provide short, snappy microlearning to help beginners keep practicing and reinforcing the learning. The best way to learn Tarot cards, is to keep practicing working with the cards. Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck=======================I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning Taro, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. I earn a small referral commission from these links from Amazon. Rider Waite Tarot Deck - USA Link: https://amzn.to/3TW5y0iRider Waite Tarot Deck - Canada Link: https://amzn.to/3YcTwlRRider Waite Tarot Deck - UK Link: https://amzn.to/4eyRUIMRider Waite Tarot Deck - Australia link: https://amzn.to/3ZRB1EwAbout Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests ===============================I have been reading Tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet. Here is my YouTube Channel video for interpreting cards in Three Card Spreads: https://youtu.be/P8En-8-8njk?si=7LIlOsFv9pNZ9iK7 Here is the transcript: Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Death card, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed. The Death card upright is often misunderstood, but it is profoundly transformative. It represents endings, beginnings, and the cycles of renewal that are necessary for growth. However, this transformative energy is stalled or resisted when the Death card appears reversed. It can suggest fear of change, clinging to the past, or avoiding necessary endings that pave the way for new opportunities. The reversed Death card often points to a reluctance to relinquish old patterns, relationships, or situations that no longer serve you. It's a reminder that while change can be uncomfortable, it's also essential for growth and renewal. So, what happens when The Death appears in a reading? When Death reversed appears in a reading, it's a signal to examine what you might resist in your life. Are there situations, relationships, or habits that you're holding onto even though they no longer serve your highest good? This card asks you to reflect on what's keeping you from embracing necessary change and to consider how releasing the old could create room for the new. It may also indicate that you're feeling afraid of or overwhelmed by transformation. The reversed Death card reminds you that change is a natural part of life and that facing it with courage and trust can lead to renewal and growth. So, what is the best way to memorize the Death card in reverse? Tying the card to a personal experience helps me remember it. For example, my reversed Death card moment is my struggle with changing my diet. My sweet tooth has always been a struggle for me. Still, for the last 10 months, I have made a reasonably consistent effort to make good choices around carby and sugary foods. I am not remotely happy about this, and have a mindset issue with feeling deprived. I am adopting recipes to try and create yummy treats that are sugar-free, but trust me, I still remember what a slice of chocolate cake with chocolate icing tastes like. So, I am a work in progress, and I associate this journey with the Death Card reversed. I am transforming with my actions, but my brain is still struggling. That's all for today's Death Card Reversed episode. Remember, to memorize tarot, keep practicing tarot. In “ROLL CALL: NEW TAROT NAMES FOR BLACK GIRLS,” Amber McBride treats us to a playful litany of language that twists and leaps and never stumbles. Flavored with old-time Christianity, old-time hoodoo, and a modern alchemy all her own, it talks back to prejudice, reclaims the words meant to take people down, and forges new identities that shimmer with strength and strangeness. Amber McBride is an English professor at the University of Virginia. She is the author of several books, including the forthcoming poetry collection, Thick with Trouble (Penguin Books/Penguin Random House, 2024). Her debut young adult novel, Me (Moth) (Square Fish/Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, 2023) was a finalist for the National Book Award, and it also won the 2022 Coretta Scott King - John Steptoe Award for New Talent. McBride low-key practices hoodoo and high-key devours books (100 or so a year keep her well fed). She is a bit of a book dragon; she collects more than she reads. In her spare time, she enjoys pretending it is Halloween every day, organizing her crystals, watching K-dramas, and accidentally scrolling through TikTok for 3 hours at a time. She believes in ghosts, and she believes in you.Find the transcript for this show at onbeing.org.We're pleased to offer Amber McBride's poem, and invite you to read Pádraig's weekly Poetry Unbound Substack, read the Poetry Unbound book, or listen back to all our episodes.

What better way to ring in the New Year than with a freeranging discussion of the dreaded thirteenth arcanum of the tarot? Of all topics, surely death needs the least introduction. Or does it? To those of us who inhabit the castellated compounds of post-industrial privilege, it is perhaps too easy to forget the uninvited guest who skulks in the shadows, touching each of us in turn as he sidles past. "Nothing is certain except death and taxes," Benjamin Franklin once wrote. He was joking, of course. The truth is that death is the only certainty. Happy Feast of St Blaise! Two years later, in the wake of the Great Sick, we now slouch towards Bethlehem once again. Welcome back to "Class Reunion: The Podcast!" This week's guest is Liz Lawson, a longtime Aurora resident who now runs a daycare in our hometown. She faced more obstacles than she let on when she was a kid, losing her mom when she was 7 and then losing her home to a tornado as a young adult. But her love of kids and of being a community helper were well established by the time we graduated. In our conversation, Liz shares what it was like losing a parent as a young person and how she navigated her career while also raising a family from a young age. Each week, I make a donation to a nonprofit of choice selected by the classmate featured in the show, and this week, Liz picked For the Kids, an organization in Aurora that provides clothing and other essentials to foster children in Barry, Lawrence and Stone counties. (The group is hosting a camping and floating trip for foster families on the same weekend as our reunion, so I'm particularly send a donation their way.) If you want to show your support for this program, go to patreon.com/classreunionpodcast to sign up. Thanks to this week's featured Patrons: Kandice, Travis, Chris and Abby. Thanks to this week's sponsor, Don't Fear the Death Card, my ancestral healing and tarot business. Lastly, if you are a member of the Class of 2001, head over to Facebook to join our class group, where we are sharing information about the upcoming reunion, taking place September 24 and 25 in Aurora. Reach out if you have questions and we'd love to see you there.

It's an unexpected part of his job, but one he loves, thanks in part to his upbringing in Southwest Missouri. In this week's episode of "Class Reunion," Jeff and I chat about marching band, planting roots and traveling around the world. This episode's sponsor is Don't Fear the Death Card, my tarot reading and teaching service. 01:18 Stones of Choice 04:17 Numerology 09:20 Astrological Energies 25:42 Messages from our Angels and Guides 39:25 Special Message based on Stone of Choice This month we are in the Lion's Gate Portal of energy! This is a time where there is a massive influx of Galactic Frequencies and Light Codes immersing us and our planet. This will bring an awakening into Higher Consciousness, and much more! Watch this month's intuitive reading to find out! The month of August vibrates, in numerology, to the karmic number 13. This brings in transformation, death & rebirth energies. The 13th Major Arcana in the tarot is the Death Card. This is about transition, transformation, transmutation, death and rebirth. It tells us that the old must fall away for something new to take its place. The astrological highlights for August are: August 8th: New Moon in Leo supporting new beginnings with our creative self-expression, children (and inner child healing) and leadership. This is also the day of the 8-8 Lions Gate Portal energy being at it's maximum. August 11th: Mercury, ruler of the mental realm, shifts from Leo into Virgo until August 30th. Our plans and ideas require more organization with attention to details and our communications are more practical and discerning. August 15th: Venus, ruler of partnerships and finances, is shifting from Virgo into Libra until September 10th. The focus in now on balance, harmony, and equality in our relationships and shared personal resources. August 19th: Uranus, planet of freedom and radical change, is turning to retrograde motion until January 22nd, 2022. As it stations (stops) to turn directions at this time, the energies of redirection as well as sudden and unexpected situations and circumstances may be experienced. August 22nd: Full Moon at 29 degrees Aquarius. This is the last degree of Aquarius and considered a critical degree. Situations and energies that were in a completion phase about a month ago may now be more final. This is also the day that the Sun shifts into earth sign Virgo. For the next month the focus is on details and more practical matters. August 29th: Mercury, ruler of thoughts, perceptions and communications, now shifts into air sign Libra until November 5th. It stays in Libra for an extra long time because of a retrograde cycle that starts in September. There is a focus on revising, revisiting, restructuring, revamping and renewing situations that deal with balance, compromise and equality within our relationships. The message from our angels and guides tells us that there may be some major shifts within the situations and circumstances of our lives. There may be sudden and unexpected occurrences that require us to find our bearings again. We may need to take some alone time to heal, listen to our own inner guidance and light our own way forward on our paths now. We have the potential of tapping into our own Akashic Records, but at the very least, our personal power and psychic senses are heightened and we should pay attention. There is an increase and faster movement in our evolutionary process, both personally and as a collective. A phase of completion is near so that we can move into a new beginning.
In this episode, we cover the Thirteenth card in the major arcana, the Death Card, reincarnation beliefs, and near death studies. The 4 of Pentacles is about creating stability, economic security, a healthy body, a cozy home, or anything else that nourishes and sustains us. But if security is something that MOST of us long to have, then why does the 4 of Pentacles seem like such a crabby card? When we pull the 4 of Pentacles, Tarot is coming to us like a close friend, putting their hands on our shoulders, looking us in the eye and quietly asking: "Is what you're doing you right now really getting you what you want? Maybe, it's time to let go."In this episode we talk about the relationship between the 4 of Pentacles, the Emperor Card, and the Death Card; Moliere's play "The Miser"; Charles Eisenstein's "Sacred Economics"; FOMO; Snoop Dog; being in integrity; how to tell when you're operating out of fear; scarcity and abundance; trusting your own value; somatic practices to help you take the best step forward; and how to create true abundance. Our guest this episode is Liliana Perez, a psychic medium, intuitive channel, deck creator and working witch. Comfort in communication, ease-filled thinking, smooth cognition. Jupiter in Pisces: May 13 - July 28. Expansive intuition, big intuitive hits. ☠ TIME TOTAL ON VIDEO: 1 + 5 = 6; 2 + 9 = 11 (6X11 = 66), BUT ALSO 6 + 11 = 17, AND 1 + 7 = 8 (DEATH CARD, 8TH HOUSE, SCORPIO, THE 8TH ZODIAC SIGN).
Now that we've realized the importance of meditation , we taken a step back, or pause and So that we can look at things differently, and seeing it from an elevated position, gained a different perspective and can move forward knowing or understanding much more. So now we proceed to take action. And the card of transition or death comes up to signal what must be done. The death card signals a time of Transition. Because when something is over, or its gone, or simply is no longer working…it is time to transition into the new. We simply cannot have our cake and eat it to. We must accept that some things whether we like it or not have to go so we can transition into something else. Thanks for joining the discussion and subscribing! Finding our way into the Death Card at the end of the year, only seems fitting. Being with the cycles of Death has transformed us all through the wake of a global pandemic- and what are we in the acts of this dance with life-death-rebirth. Instead of hiding from death, what happens when we actually move towards it, instead of hiding from it- tucking it away, never to speak of it again. In our conversation with Aunia Kahm, we talk about the ways in which the death card comes up in a reading, that it is not to be feared yet embraced. Transformation season is here and The Death card in the Tarot speaks to our connection with change as an ever-present element in our lives. In this episode, we dismantle fears around The Death card and how change can relate to change as being energizing and supportive. As we near Election Day in the United States, we explore how we're rooted into the very fabric of democracy and how the current Full Moon in Taurus supports our grounded nature with the reality of all that is. We also explore The Hierophant card in the Tarot and how it invites us to connect directly to Source without a middleman. Enjoy the sounds of nature in this episode as I hike through the rain with my beloved Newfoundland dog while we're both smelling all the smells! Sometimes things need to die. I've pulled the Death Card in a couple of readings for myself and it was always at a time when I needed it. We continuously go through cycles (good or bad) and they all have to come to an end. Listen to what I'm choosing to let die. The Death Card episode. Discussed: Noah Gabbard (R.I.P.), my largely non-religious upbringing, the tedium of the Bible, discovering Carl Sagan along with atheism/skepticism, and the story of how I stumbled on (or was led to re-discover) the I Ching, or Book of Changes. Mentioned: Noah Gabbard (Bombs for the Bored, HAIRSPRAYFIREANDGIRLS). Music: "Adventure" by Disasterpeace.
We never talk about it. We get upset about it. We cannot live without it. Death. People think that death is an ending to life. This is incorrect. Death is the stopping of a persons PHYSICAL existence in THIS realm. Hence why it’s important to say and do what we need to do by our loved ones. We need to do this while they are still here in the physical. I’ve done over 300 shows, in that time I’ve lost 5 people I cared and loved for all eternity. I know for a fact that when they left they knew I loved them. They knew I would do what I promised each of them. I promised I would LIVE. Above all things I would make them proud and take care of anything they left undone. I stand on that. Their deaths were actually a rebirth in ME and the rest of my family who loved them just as much. In tarot, the death card does not mean DIE. It means that new things must be born. It means old ways are done. It means you got past the hard part (Tower Card). I never discussed the selfish part of death while I watched someone die. Let’s talk about it. #chuch
The One with The Scorpio to Sagitarrius Energy Update Happy Sagitarrius Season!!! We have our last week of November's cards. This month we have the Death Card continuing to lead us through some powerful up-leveling transformations. We Also have Temperance reminding us to step back and see the big picture so we can know when to get in there and mix things up and when to step back and observe. And this week we also have the star card reminding us that even if were a little battle-scared from the Scorpio and Merc Retro- there are rewards waiting- that weren't ready for us until we cleared those levels. What Am I listening to? Host Cardsy B is a fashion industry survivor, tarot reader, and creator of the Badass Bitches Tarot by Cardsy B deck. Through intuitive readings served with a side of pop culture, Cardsy B offers an entertaining intro to the world of Tarot. Who the F is Cardsy B? Rebecca “Bex” Szymczak- aka Cardsy B- picked up her first deck of tarot cards at age eleven. After abandoning them to fit in with the cool kids in highschool she worked her way up the fashion industry by designing for DKNY, NIKE, and eventually serving as Creative Director/VP of Design for Playboy. After experiencing several traumatic losses in a period of five years, (Saturn return back to back with Saturn in her sun sign!) she pulled herself out of a pretty tragic Millennial meltdown using Tarot as healing tool. Eventually this passion for Tarot led to increased bookings as a Tarot reader at events around NYC and in person and via skype to private clients. In our work and in our living, we must recognize that difference is a reason for celebration and growth, rather than a reason for destruction.Audre LordeMy time with Jewelle dates back to my childhood. She is my first cousins oldest sisters wife. Family. We haven't seen each other much over the years, but her memory of cheetah filled black femme elegance radiates out from her every pore. Jewelle's work surpasses the landscape of activist, witch, renegade, original. She had no trouble choosing the death card. It came naturally to them, it was what was inherently something they had leaned into. Being raised by her Great-Grandmother, growing up with her ancestral wisdom ran through her veins. Jewelle has lived 71 rotations around the sun, and is the first elder I have had the sincere privilege of recording for this episodeA historical fiction writer and feminist futurist, Jewelle has written 8 books, and The Gilda Stories has been in print for almost 30 years. Their work in the LGBTQ community is vast, from being present for the Stonewall Riots to marriage equality. She grew up around social movements such as the civil rights movement, black power movement, anti war movement. The roots of social activism were a daily part of life's experience. She enjoys reflecting on periods of herstory, and bringing light from other generations. On today's episode, we have Beth Jacobellis on the show. She's a writer, mother, business woman, and a tarot card reader! She really is a jack of all trades. We talk about whether or not soulmates exist, astrological signs and how they work in dating, seeing dead people, turning TJ into a believer...and if that's not enough, we both get an eerily spot on tarot card reading. SPOILER ALERT: Someone is apparently getting married. ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: It's not Gena, but that's just because the universe apparently hates her and wants her to be alone forever.
