Sermons from the weekly gatherings of Rooted Church, a Family of Missionary Disciples in Joplin Missouri
To live as one who has received mercy and gives it is to live as one whose heart has been purified by God, to live as one blessed to see the glory of God in the gospel, not only upon salvation but each day after through His word and Spirit
Despite various schemes and threats from adversaries, Nehemiah and the people persist in their work, demonstrating resilience, determination, and reliance on God.
True believers will display evidence of being redeemed in their beliefs and lives of love and mercy.
As you pursue faithfulness to God, you can rest in the Savior's grace, remember God's perfect faithfulness, and rely on His strength to finish the course.
Difficult times were coming (and have come), but Christ did not die so that Timothy would have a spirit of fear. No, His death has given us a Spirit of power, love, and faith.
Men and Women glorify God by reflecting His created order in the home and church. To live in such a way requires humility and sacrifice, attributes also needed to serve as a Deacon in God's church.
A biblical model of church leadership is necessary for the church to display the glory of Christ in its worship and witness.
There is a mystery within the themes of sovereignty and salvation—likewise, the unique roles of men and women can be challenging to understand fully. Yet, because we know God, we know His ways are good, and we can embrace mystery with confidence and humility.
Today we begin three months in the book of 1 and 2 Timothy. Paul writes this letter to Timothy as the church at Ephesus is in turmoil only four years after his departure. Paul could have offered a lot of pragmatic recommendations, but instead, he begins his letter by exhorting them to guard the gospel, and to remove anything (and anyone) who distracts from it.
On this Sunday when Rooted Church and First Baptist Carl Junction enter into a summer of exploring a merger, we remember the means through which we have been made family already. By becoming a man and experiencing the weight of temptation and the agony of death, Jesus Christ, our faithful High Priest, destroys the power of Satan, aids us in our trials, and ultimately makes us Family through His blood.

What does it mean to be a member of a Church? This sermon discusses what it means to be a member of Rooted Church. Today's text is 1 Corinthians 5:1-13
From the beginning God had a plan to give His people a King. A King who would be both a humble servant, and a triumphant conquerer. Our framework for such a one as this is found only in God Himself.
From the beginning, God has had a plan to rescue His people. That plan is revealed in Jesus Christ... the One for whom we wait expectantly.
On this first Sunday of Advent, we remember that God's promises are true, and that Israel, Judah, and all of God's people will be united when the Messiah reigns on the earth.
The Politicians and Prophets of the day were modeling worship of power self and God condemned them righteously. Micah stands as a pillar of truth in the midst of a land of lies, and he does so by the power of the Spirit that now resides in this whom are "In Christ"
Israel and Judah rejected the Just King's commands and instead chose deceit, coveting, and lying.
Israel and Judah rejected the King's covenant by embracing idolatry and placing their faith in pagan nations.
"And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." Personal, perfect, perpetual obedience. This is what God requires. And this week we highlight the great gulf between that requirement and what we are apart from Jesus. However, this gulf is not meant to dismay, but to point us toward what God accomplished in Jesus at Calvary.
We glorify God, by enjoying Him, loving Him, trusting Him, and by obeying His will, commands, and law.
God created all things by His powerful Word, and all His creation was very good; everything flourished under his living rule (so that He might receive glory!)
God created us male and female in His own image to know Him, love Him, live with Him, and glorify Him. And it is right that we who were created by God should live to His glory.
There are three persons in the one true and living God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
That we are not our own but belong, body and soul, both in life and death, too God and to our Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the God-Man, the basis for all true Christian fellowship and service. As those redeemed by the Redeemer, we have no reason to fear our sin, we glorify Him in our confession.
Rooted Church continues the Revelation Sermon Series. Pastor Josh Wise from Rooted Church - NWA preaches a sermon related to Revelation Chapter 8, pointing us to the importance of prayer in the midst of the Lord passing down his first judgement upon the earth while also understanding the depth of his grace in the midst of this judgement.
