Over 40 million Americans have dechurched in the last 25 years alone, and multiple generations have been raised to believe the most spiritual thing they can do is follow God by following their heart - right out of the church. Ed Stetzer talks with Brad Edwards about his book, The Reason for Church: Why the Body of Christ still matters in an age of Anxiety, Division and Radical Individualism, and how the current cultural crisis of loneliness, stress, and anxiety can provide compelling reasons to come back to church on Ed Stetzer Live. This week, the Rev. David Drake continues our sermon series through the book of Romans. Romans 16:1-16
Every single week, we send a new message across the world. Everything we do here at Mosaic is made available to everyone in the world for absolutely free. Incredible people who give generously and sacrificially to make this possible. Go to mosaic. org give Become a Part of our support system, become one of our partners. The church matters because it's how God brings us together. If your spirituality is simply a way for you to avoid human connection, it's not very spiritual. The only thing you need to believe in God is to see God for who he really is. In the church, I am a mess. I am imperfect. Calling me hypocritical is just an upgrade. I'm just working through all the brokenness of who I am. Jesus established the church so that we wouldn't do life alone. It's through the church that God brings us together. How many of you would call yourself an introvert? Raise your hand. A huge part of your spirituality has to be you learning how to walk alone with God. You cannot fully experience who God is outside of community. Experience God more fully through the church. When you get around a lot of people with destructive characteristics, you become a destructive human being. But if you can get around people who are compassionate, you start becoming compassionate. There's something that happens in community that changes you.

Every now and then, it pays to ask why we do the things we do.Today, we're asking why Christianity (and religion in general) matters. It starts with the hard questions that come sooner or later for us all, but ends in tremendous, life-giving hope.
Sunday morning sermon by Tim Alsup. We've been studying some "church matters" on Sunday mornings. Today's question: does it matter how we worship?
Tim Alsup, our preaching minister here at Great Oaks, speaks again on a series called "Church Matters". Is there a specific pattern for how the Church is to operate?
This is Week 4 of our series, The Signature of God.
A new sermon series begins this Sunday morning as Tim Alsup speaks to us. How do we handle sin in the Church?
In this sermon, Pastor John Murphy highlights that the church is a community of believers, not just a building, created to live in unity and reflect the love of the Trinity. It stresses that Christians need community to grow and fulfill the commands of Scripture, contrasting this with the isolation and convenience of modern culture. The message encourages believers to engage in both gathering and scattering as a church, living out their faith in Jesus through everyday life.

In this message, Pastor Adam helps us remember "why church matters." We'll take a look at Hebrews for important points. Notes: Hebrews 10:19—25 Hebrews 4:12 Hebrews 4:15—16 Hebrews 6:19 We must go to God. We must hold on to hope. We must motivate each other. Only 24% of our congregation attended Harvest at least once per month on average. 76% attended less than once per month. Only 11% went to at least half the Sundays in 2023. 1. We must go to God. The Church exists for 3 reasons: The exaltation of God (Upward) The edification of the saints (Inward) The evangelization of the world (Outward) 2. We must hold on to hope. Ephesians 2:8–9 (ESV) “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” 3. We must motivate each other. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org.
