You'll never experience complete deliverance until you walk in forgiveness. During the close of his series, Deliverance, Dr. Gabe challenges us to reflect deeply on generational patterns, personal transformation, and the realities of deliverance—not just for ourselves, but for those who will come after us.Through honest stories and scriptural insights, Dr. Powell confronts the realities that many of us normalize: from the everyday struggles we're reluctant to admit to the generational wounds we often hide. He emphasizes the urgent need for deliverance and the power that transforms forgiveness—reminding us that true freedom and breaking these cycles often come down to our willingness to forgive those who have passed down these patterns to us.Support the showText encounteratl to 94000 to stay up-to-date on all things Encounter.Worship with EncounterSundays at 9 AM ET | Wednesdays at 7:30 PM ETSupport EncounterText egive to 77977 Connect with EncounterFacebook | Instagram | TikTok | YouTube | WebsiteConnect with Dr. GabeInstagram | YouTube | Website
The sudden influx of many Gentile believers into the Church of Jesus Christ created a serious theological issue that needed to be resolved. Were the Gentiles under the Law of Moses? What was needed for one to be saved? These and other issues are brought to the leaders in Jerusalem to be resolved.

Pastor Chris Drew is our guide as we walk through Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 19, Of the Law of God. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxOWdAHeXLE CHAPTER 19 Of the Law of God 1. God gave to Adam a law, as a covenant of works, by which he bound him and all his posterity to personal, entire, exact, and perpetual obedience, promised life upon the fulfilling, and threatened death upon the breach of it, and endued him with power and ability to keep it. 2. This law, after his fall, continued to be a perfect rule of righteousness; and, as such, was delivered by God upon Mount Sinai, in ten commandments, and written in two tables: the first four commandments containing our duty towards God; and the other six, our duty to man. 3. Beside this law, commonly called moral, God was pleased to give to the people of Israel, as a church under age, ceremonial laws, containing several typical ordinances, partly of worship, prefiguring Christ, his graces, actions, sufferings, and benefits; and partly, holding forth divers instructions of moral duties. All which ceremonial laws are now abrogated, under the new testament. 4. To them also, as a body politic, he gave sundry judicial laws, which expired together with the State of that people; not obliging any other now, further than the general equity thereof may require. 5. The moral law doth forever bind all, as well justified persons as others, to the obedience thereof; and that, not only in regard of the matter contained in it, but also in respect of the authority of God the Creator, who gave it. Neither doth Christ, in the gospel, any way dissolve, but much strengthen this obligation. 6. Although true believers be not under the law, as a covenant of works, to be thereby justified, or condemned; yet is it of great use to them, as well as to others; in that, as a rule of life informing them of the will of God, and their duty, it directs and binds them to walk accordingly; discovering also the sinful pollutions of their nature, hearts, and lives; so as, examining themselves thereby, they may come to further conviction of, humiliation for, and hatred against sin, together with a clearer sight of the need they have of Christ, and the perfection of his obedience. It is likewise of use to the regenerate, to restrain their corruptions, in that it forbids sin: and the threatenings of it serve to show what even their sins deserve; and what afflictions, in this life, they may expect for them, although freed from the curse thereof threatened in the law. The promises of it, in like manner, show them God's approbation of obedience, and what blessings they may expect upon the performance thereof: although not as due to them by the law as a covenant of works. So as, a man's doing good, and refraining from evil, because the law encourageth to the one, and deterreth from the other, is no evidence of his being under the law; and, not under grace. 7. Neither are the forementioned uses of the law contrary to the grace of the gospel, but do sweetly comply with it; the Spirit of Christ subduing and enabling the will of man to do that freely, and cheerfully, which the will of God, revealed in the law, requireth to be done.

In this final message in our series on the law of God, we examine commands 4-10. How we love God with our time, and how we reflect the character of God in our relationship with others he has created in his image.
This evening Pastor Ryan continues our series in Exodus with his sermon, "Can a Person Be Saved By Keeping the Law of God."

In this second part of our series on the Law of God, we examine the distinctions (moral, civil & ceremonial) seen in the law, how Jesus has fulfilled the civil and ceremonial for us, yet the moral still remains as a guide for the Christian. We then examined the first three commands dealing with how God is to be worshipped.
God's law is good—but only when used as He intended. Dr. John unpacks 1 Timothy 1:8-11, examining how false teachers misused the law and how Paul instructs Timothy to uphold the truth. Rather than a means of salvation, the law reveals sin and points us to Christ, showing our need for His grace. Understanding this distinction is key to living out the gospel.Upholding the Truth: Upholding the Truth is a 15-message series focused on the study of 1 Timothy. Do you remember the words of Jesus to Pilate? “Everyone who is on the side of truth, listens to my voice.” The question might arise in our day, “is there such a thing as truth?” There is, and it never changes. It is found in the Word of God. Discover or rediscover this truth for the church, and your role in proclaiming the unchanging truth of God, in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

In the first of two sermons on the Law of God, we examine the Christians relationship to the law and the purpose of the law. The law is given in the context of covenant, there is an eternal law of God, it shows us our sin, cannot save us and points us to Christ who fulfilled the law through perfect obedience and by bearing the curse of the law.

Ed Romero | Hebrews 10:1
Do we recognize the things that subtly creep in and distract us from being able to love God with a whole heart? Fear and worry will eat up our focus and attention and crowd out our love for the Lord. Competition with the world - trying to love the Lord and love the world at the same time will cause our love for God to grow cold. And even just busyness (even if it's good things) so often distracts us from Him! We need to guard against allowing other things to pull our focus away from wholehearted devotion to the Lord. This is the foundational bedrock of the Christian life: God loves us. When we receive that love, it changes us. Our desire is that this new study on the command of Christ to “Love the Lord” will open your eyes to see the love of God for you. Receiving God's love is the one thing that will ignite in us a desire to love Him back and then enable us to become channels of His love to others.Want to go deeper in studying this command of Christ? Have you ever realized that from the beginning to the end of the Bible, the primary way that loving God is defined is by keeping His commandments? This makes all the sense in the world when we see that the word keep means “to treasure” and “to guard.” What are you treasuring in your heart? Because “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21).This is the foundational bedrock of the Christian life: God loves us. When we receive that love, it changes us. What would you say if a husband professed deep love for his wife, then followed up his declaration with, “But my life is just so busy, I only have 5 minutes a day I can spend with her”? You would call that man a liar. The greatest revealer of what we love is how we spend our time. Some argue that Hebrews 7:12 teaches that there has been a change in the law regarding the Levitical priesthood. Does a contextual reading of Hebrews 7:12 indicate the Messiah's priesthood negates the Law of God?

If we were to be honest, most of us would admit that we view God's laws and commandments as a rigid checklist of do's and don'ts. But have you ever considered that all the commands have their foundation in love? The atmosphere would have been tense. People would have been waiting with baited breath to hear Jesus' answer. “Should we pay the tax to Caesar?”, was both a politically and religiously charged question. And it was asked intentionally to trap Jesus. Would He openly come out against Rome? Would He openly speak against His people, the Jews? Listen as Gabe and Nate share how Jesus cut right to their heart - in profound wisdom, He addressed the question in a way that was irrefutable by either side. In this often overlooked command to “Render to Caesar”, Nate and Gabe will unearth the context and background of this command as well as the rich application that this holds for our lives here and now. First and foremost, we are to “render to God things that are God's” - namely we are to surrender to God our lives which bear His image! And secondly we are to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's.” It is beautiful to realize that when we honor the God-ordained authority structure, we are actually honoring God Himself and showcasing His love to those in authority! Fr. Mike takes us through the last chapter of Daniel and explains how Daniel models for us on how to live in exile and still be faithful to the Lord. We also see in Jeremiah the Lord promise a new covenant that will ultimately be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Today's readings are Jeremiah 31, Daniel 14, and Proverbs 16:21-24.
