Isaiah 62 For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch. 2 The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will give. 3 You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. 5 For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. 6 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, 7 and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth. 8 The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: “I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, 11and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored; 9 but those who garner it shall eat it and praise the Lord, and those who gather it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.” 10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples. 11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” 12 And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.
As sinners, it is only through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by His death and resurrection that He can call us the redeemed and rescued from hell.

Jesus paid for you and bought you with His blood - He redeemed you to Himself eternally!
Pastor James continues our new series, Redeemed, walking through the book of Ruth. This week we looked at Ruth 2 and saw that God's redemption is motivated by His love.
Under the covenant of grace, we no longer need to depend on our own efforts to earn God's approval like the people had to do under the law. Because of our belief in Jesus and in His finished works, God has already approved of us and declared us righteous. All that remains for us to do now is to respond to what has already been done. The new covenant calls for the effort to stay rooted in grace when everything around us tries to pull us back into performance. Living under grace doesn't mean the absence of labor, but laboring to remain at rest when the devil tries to distract us with the world's doubts, fears, and anxieties. Pastor Ray Bentley reveals a portion of Revelation where John, the earthly author, was tearful. John's tears represent the tears of all God's people throughout all the centuries. No wonder John wept so fervently. If no Redeemer could be found to remove the curse, it meant that God's creation was forever consigned to remain in the hands of Satan. But then all of a sudden, everything changed.

The power of sin has separated us from God which means we needed an even stronger savior to come to our rescue. Rescue came when Jesus was born and we have redemption through His blood and sacrifice.

At times, we relinquish parts of ourselves—our peace, our joy, and our sense of worth—for pursuits that ultimately fail to provide genuine fulfillment. However, it is important to recognize that God offers restoration freely, without cost. When we turn to Him, we find a source of love and support that replenishes our spirits and rejuvenates our hearts. Embracing this divine gift allows us to reclaim our authentic selves, filled with hope and purpose. It is a gentle reminder that our true value is not defined by external achievements or possessions, but by the inner peace and contentment that come from a deeper connection with God.
1. Its Origin 2. Its Shape 3. Its Effect
In this passage, Paul introduces us to God's very special vocabulary.
Today, pastor Ray Bentley looks to revelation for the Lord's plan of redemption. The Book of Revelation has comforted the church that there is a plan. There is an unfolding of the divine will of the father in heaven. And the central theme is the sun. And it's going to a conclusion. And the conclusion is that the very title deed of the earth that was lost and forfeited is to be reclaimed spread.
Pastors spend their days shepherding others through crises, temptations, and mental health battles, but who helps them carry those same burdens? This question led Josh Turner to launch Project 10Ten, a ministry devoted to helping pastors confront their own struggles, stay mentally healthy, and thrive for the long haul. This week Nate Dewberry sits down with Josh to unpack how 10Ten weaves rigorous academic research into practical support and counsel for church leaders. (3:15) Bible Study: Isaiah 29:17-24 Redeemed and the world to come. Matthew 9:27-31 What does this passage mean really? (21:39) Break 1 (23:21) Letters: Is there a difference between someone who sins and someone who is a regular sinner? How does the gift of tears relate to the other gifts of the bible? Father answers these and other questions, send him a letter at simon@relevantradio.com (32:16) Break 2 (33:44) Word of the Day Santa Claus (37:02) Phones: Diane - In the New Testament it says 'many are called but few are chosen'. What does it mean that, 'few are chosen' Alonzo - The priest at Mass today said the Matthew that wrote the Gospel is not the same Matthew who was an Apostle. Is this true? Joseph - I want to push back against the letter you received about sin. Wouldn’t it be the case that if someone aims at a different target, they still miss the target so 'Hamartia' could still apply? Rich - In the New Testament the historic Jesus says he is not allowed to associate with the Canaanite woman. What is your interpretation of this passage? I think Jesus is rejecting Catholicism here because Catholicism comes from the Etruscans.
In Christ, we have been redeemed! Through faith in the Blood of Christ, our debt has been paid in full. Our freedom has been purchased. Our position in God's family has been made secure. The Bible says that “as a man thinks so is he.” What you think is based upon what you believe. What you believe is based upon what you hear - for faith comes by hearing! As we embark on this brand new study, we will see who we are in Christ! To know who you are in Christ is ALL that matters. Once you know who you are in Christ, the lies of the devil and the opinions of man (including your own) fall to the wayside. Dom Fusco experienced his first spiritual transformation when he was baptized at age 23. His second came a few years later, when a cardiac arrest caused him to collapse during a run, leaving him “flatline dead” for two and a half minutes. This sermon explores the origins and significance of baptism and communion, tracing them back to their roots in the Exodus story. It explains that these sacraments are not random rituals but divine institutions commanded by Jesus, prefigured in the Old Testament, and practiced by the church for thousands of years.Scripture ReferencesMatthew 28:18-20: The Great Commission to baptize.Luke 22:7-20: The Last Supper, instituting communion.1 Corinthians 11:23-26: Paul's instructions on the Lord's Supper.Exodus 12:1-28: The Passover, the origin of communion.Exodus 12:29-51 & 14:1-31: The Exodus and crossing of the Red Sea, the origin of baptism.John 1:29: John the Baptist identifies Jesus as the "Lamb of God."1 Peter 1:18-19: Redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish.Key PointsCommunion: The Passover Fulfilled To understand the Last Supper, we must understand the First Supper (Passover). In Exodus 12, God provided a substitute (a lamb) to save the Israelites from judgment. This lamb had to be:Pure: Without defect.Personal: Kept in the home for four days.Killed: A true sacrifice.Applied: Blood on the doorposts (faith in action).Consumed: Totally devoured (we take all of Jesus).Taken in Faith: Eaten in haste, ready to move. Jesus is the fulfillment of this Passover lamb. He is the pure, personal sacrifice whose blood is applied to our lives, saving us from judgment.Baptism: The Red Sea Crossing Baptism is framed by the Israelites' crossing of the Red Sea (Exodus 14). It involves three movements of salvation:Leaving the Old Behind: Just as Israel left 430 years of slavery in Egypt, baptism symbolizes leaving our old life of bondage.Surrendering to God: At the Red Sea, Israel was trapped and terrified. Moses told them, "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Baptism declares our trust in God to fight battles we cannot win.New Identity: Passing through the waters, Israel was born again as a free nation. They emerged on the other side with a new identity as worshipers, erupting in song. Baptism marks our entry into a new life and identity in Christ. Why We Do It We practice baptism and communion because Jesus commanded them, the early church practiced them, and they powerfully reenact the story of our salvation. They are not just rituals; they are "sacraments" that mark the church and remind us of who we are and whose we are.ConclusionThe sacraments of baptism and communion are God's way of "resetting our clocks" and marking us as His own. Just as the Passover changed the calendar for Israel, meeting Jesus changes everything for us. We leave behind the old, trust God to fight for us, and step into a new identity as His people.Calls to ActionRemember Your Baptism: If you are a believer, recall the moment you "crossed the Red Sea" and left your old life behind.Take Communion in Faith: When you participate in the Lord's Supper, remember the cost of the Lamb and apply His blood to your life by faith.Stand Firm: If you are facing an "impossible" Red Sea situation, hear the word of the Lord: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm... The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Support the show*Summaries and transcripts are generated using AI. Please notify us if you find any errors.
