Comedian Dave Chappelle and poet Maya Angelou spend a day together at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They discuss how poetry and comedy can bridge both genders and generations. In today's episode we have a new correction corner. Then, I briefly talk about the new Netflix Documentary jeen-yuhs (which some people describe as a Heartbreaking Ode to the Old Kanye). Do you miss the old Kanye? In the segment the seven deadly sins of management, I describe that even though the word sin has a negative connotation, it actually derives from a latin word that's translated to mean, "missing the mark or target." So, how many times have you missed the mark -- even when trying your best? I would be here counting for days ;) This week in podcast; Bobby Lee's return from rehab and shares his traumatic experience in the first center he went to, which is referred to as a "rehab mill." (An investigation by NBC News has found that many of these vulnerable patients have become grist in an insurance fraud mill. Crooked treatment centers partner with "body brokers" and operators of so-called "sober homes" to find patients with good health insurance. Brokers and sober home owners offer those trying to get clean free rent and grocery store gift cards, cigarettes...) Ethan Klein from H3H3 removes the two Jordan Peterson interviews he had on his channel. Peterson's Daughter, Mikhaila, goes on the FreshandFit podcast and talks about Ethan appeasing to his fans and a discussions about the left and censoring. Ryan Holiday gives great advice on the 7 Stoic Strategies For Being Creative (Lucky coincidence). Write your shitty pages every day! You can't edit nothing. And at last! In todays, can I speak to the manager? A really funny clip my friend sent me about a customer who wants to buy something that the store is not offering. Tonight, we discuss a book that I love to revisit, The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle. From the Publisher's preface; "He is not aligned with any particular religion or doctrine or guru; his teaching embraces the heart, the essence, of all other traditions, and contradicts none of them -- Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, indigenous, or anything else. He is able to show us, in simple and clear language, that the way, the truth, and the light is within us." - Marc Allen, (Author of Visionary Business and A Visionary Life) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whosmindingthestore/support
