A trip to Denver led Andy Sheeter down a path that has him getting ready to move his business into a 40,000-square-foot brewery. I went on a ski trip with some friends. We were out in Breckenridge and then we were in Boulder, Colorado, and we went to a brewery,” Sheeter said. “And there were three of us and we thought ‘This is really cool. We should try this,' and so on the flight home from Denver, by the time we landed, we had a brewery concept.” Crooked Can Brewing Company officially opened for business in March 2015. Sheeter said he knew he wanted to open in Winter Garden. “We just felt that Winter Garden was where it was at,” he said. Sheeter and his then-partners, he has since bought them out of the business, purchased an empty apartment complex that had gone into disrepair and become a nuisance property. They had the place leveled and began building what would become the Plant Street Market — a brewery and food hall. “Once we started building the brewery, I knew instantaneously it was going to be a hit because we would go there on a Saturday or Sunday and would go to the worksite and it was literally like a parade of bikes, golf carts, cars, everybody going by and everybody staring at us trying to figure out when we were going to be done,” Sheeter said. Sure enough, he said the brewery saw instant success. “What I'm surprised in is that we continue to grow year after year,” he said. “Because every year, I look at the amount of business we do, the amount of customers that come through here and I say to myself, ‘I don't know how we can handle more than this,' then every year we do.” However, even though Crooked Can has handled the growing business up to this point, it is time for the business to grow. The brewery is starting construction on a new flagship brewery in Minneola. “It's going to go into what's called the Hills in Mineola, which there's a new turnpike exit on Hancock Road,” he said. “There's going to be a roughly 132-acre development there that's going to have mixed-use section. It's going to have a hospital. It's going to have a hotel. It's going to have a lot of retail, grocery and, last I heard, roughly 1,000 apartments that are going to be on top of the retail.” Sheeter said he hopes to have the new brewery open by 2025. On the latest episode of Florida Foodie, Sheeter talks about why he is so focused on keeping his brewery in Central Florida. He also talks more about the new brewery and his possible plans for the future. Please follow our Florida Foodie hosts on social media. You can find Candace Campos on Twitter and Facebook. Ecclesiastes 7:1-14 - Speaker: Danny Brooks - Have you ever thought, “It would have been better if I had not been born?” You are not alone. Many of us have had those very thoughts. We wrestle with the hard circumstances and difficult experiences of life and wonder "Why?" Why me? Why this? Why now? What's the point of living if things are always going to be this hard? At the end of Ecclesiastes 7, the Preacher calls us to "Consider the work of God: who can make straight what he has made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him." It's not only a sobering reminder that we are not sovereign over our days or the difficult circumstances, but God is! Like so many of us the author of Ecclesiastes is straining to see God's goodness and control in the crooked things around him. But again and again he returns to the goodness and sovereignty of God in all of life. It's there in front of us if we are willing to look with the eyes of faith and believe God's word.

Welcome back to another amazing guest interview! This week I'm chatting with Cam Bailey of Crooked Owl Hard Tepache. We get into working with a significant other, balancing work & play, finding connection through food/bev, and so much more. Cam was such a joy to talk to and I'm so thankful she was willing to share her story. About the brand-- Crooked Owl is the first hard Tepache brand on the market! Cam and her husband took their love for traditional Tepache and turned it into a 5% ABV bev. This allowed Cam, who is gluten-free, to have a go-to bev option. They soft launched this year (2023) and will be having a formal launch in 2024! I was lucky enough to try their brews when I was out in Atlanta and OMG are they delicious!! A Crooked Judge and a Desperate Widow (Luke 18:1–8) - Dr. Jeff Eieff
1... 2... The RPGrinders are coming for you. 3... 4... Break will even the score. 5... 6... Eric is pulling dirty tricks. 7... 8... Frank will seal your fate. 9... 10... Let the nightmarish fun begin! The nightmare begins with an extra short news section. Although most games have already given their 2023 release dates, the Grinders were able to dig some new release dates. Radiant Silvergun is coming to the PC, 9 Years of Shadows is coming to the Switch, and Blasphemous 2 is coming to last generation systems. All three games are going to be released within the next few weeks. A nightmare would not be proper without a good scary movie. Frank reviews the horror video game adaption of Five Nights at Freddy's. Will this movie leave you up and night crying for your mommy? Only Frank knows for sure. Unlike Frank, Break didn't seem to get the memo. He reviewed another video game related adaption, the very unscary Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. Nothing could be more horrifying than the Grinders own version of Hell, the Stinkos. As usual, Break has a list of complaints to terrify the listeners. A list that grows as the show is happening! A list of death, destruction, and greed. Crooked politicians, fun hating priests, the continual failures of the United States police force, the deaths of beloved celebrities (RIP Richard Moll), and an escalating war/genocide. As if those weren't enough, Frank has gotten sick and a mentally ill man is on the run in Michigan after committing acts of pure evil. As scary as the news may be the light of the Sweetos peaks through the pitch-black nights. A couple of those nights will be enjoyed by Bernie. She is long overdue. Maybe she will spend that extra time playing Tales of Arise with Frank or getting ready to celebrate the unholiest of nights, All Hallow's Eve. Nothing embodies the horror of the night as a good scary movie. What makes a scary movie "good"? That's right! The KILLS! On this unholy night the Grinders finally decide the Greatest Kill of All Time! A lot of monstrous legends have already fallen and only 8 remain. Is Freddy Frueger's teenage girl killing television scarier than a nurse meeting her fate to the Gemini Killer? Will Art the Clown's unconventional gynecological skills out gore the master of killing ingenuity, Jason Vorhees? If Jason's cold-snap kill isn't gruesome enough, maybe his creative use of a sleeping bag will slay the competition? Is Norman Bates' shower scene thrilling enough to topple the unkillable Jason Vorhees? The good guys didn't want to be left out of frightening fun. Is Conan's ultimate act of revenge a better kill than the quip dropping Furiosa's face ripping fatality? Only one hero will walk away from this round but how will they fair in the next round? One hero versus three villains. The odds are not in the hero's favor. The horror maybe over for now but a new nightmare will always be waiting around the corner. Ghosts, goblins, vampires, police, werewolves, politicians, serial killers, and squirrels are only a few of the things that go bump in the night. They grow more powerful on the night of Halloween but they don't disappear in the morning. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Anal of time or anals of time? Am I still getting this wrong?
