It is all up to the student to seek the knowledge.Guru is beyond any comparison because he/she doesn't see any problem but still has the compassion to teach the student to make them see the problem doesn't exists. To see the reality we need to know and to know anything we need a means of knowedge. We will find it here. As a seeker one must have that intellectual honesty to reshuffle ones own thinking and has got to expose to the Vedantic teachings. For that to happen one need not be a philosopher, poiet or a thinker. Just have an intense desire to know the truth about oneself. So the pursuit of self knowledge must be the predominant thing. 9 days are dedicated for puja and generally known as navarathri puja which will culminate in the celebration of vijaya dasami on the 10th day. The day is very much selected for initiating children to the world of knowledge. Everything is looked up on as the manifestation of the "Shakti".Three aspects of the same power is viewed as ichha shakti, kriya shakti and jnana shakti. The capacity to discern and choose and the power to exercise our choice also the power of knowledge to make an appropriate choice is the basis for the success of any undertaking. This is attained through recognising the shakti which is universal and resides in the form of Durga,Lakshmy and Saraswati. So these are visualized the power of Iswara who is non seperate from it. Like the fire and its power to burn are non seperate.so too the Parameswara and the Shakti. Shakti is prakrti which is the manifested world. It has 3 gunas and the these gunas are inherent in the creation. This is Otherwise known as Maya which is behind the creation.Because Iswaras swarupa doesn't change inspite of the creation being what it is. The detailed discussion will bring out the truth behind the creation but here briefly we recognise the presence of three powers which is Bhagavans Shakti only therefore not seperate from Bhagavan but from the stand point of creation we have to look at it severally for our own understanding. Meditation is complete only by validating everything with Iswara's presence in ones life. Without accepting Iswara as the order one cannot find a place to surrender (samarpanam).Guru is the one who reveals it by unfolding the true nature of Iswara. Gurus words in keeping with pramana becomes the source of this wisdom. What the teacher ( guru ) says is important for the student ( Shishya ) but what the shishya doesn't say is important for the Guru. Interaction through proper questions and valid answers is the basis for the clarity of knowledge and this happens when the shishya has proximity to his/her Guru. The teaching tradition therefore calls it the "upanisadVidya" wisdom of the upanisads. This is taught in Bhagavad Gita also when Bhagavan Sri Krishna was asked by Arjuna who was an accomplished person but sarrow of life is following like a shadow and he realized it.So he sought the final answer for the human problem of self non-acceptance.SriKrishna taught him elaborately with karma yoga as the yoga of attitudes for managing raga and dvesha for gaining this knowledge. upanisads being the source which came through Rishis who revealed the vision and known as Vedas. Vedas being the body of knowledge which talks about the ultimate vision regarding the reality of the world and existence as such and known as Vedanta. Vedanta is the subject matter of upanisads and being ultimate knowledge placed appropriately towards the end of Vedas. It is the means of knowledge (pramana) for knowing the self. Om Sri Gurubhyo namah: . Brief description of some of the verses given here as we will see the entire vision through the teaching as and when each one of them are taken separately. Om Hara Hara shankara........... we need to have a lot grace of Matha Saraswati to understand the subject matter. Knowledge is a miracle we do not know how does it takes place in the mind or buddhi. All that we know is it requires a lot of grace. You have to earn it as it is not free.So this invokation is to fulfill that requirement...... Invoking Sri Dakshinamurthy who is Lord Parameswara himself in the form of the Guru. .................... The Guru of all the Gurus giving the knowledge to his desciples sitting under the banyan tree with a smiling face and revealing the self through words employed in a special way to communicate and at same time not creating concepts or phylosophies but exactly unfolding the vision intended to be reached by the listener. This is "mauna vyakhya" . "Mouna" is silence "vyakhya" is its unfoldment.Unfolding the subject matter through silence means the words themself do not stick on to the listener . But having done the job they go away. Just as container is not to be taken for the content in it.So too the literal meaning of the words are negated and the actual vision is transfered in the process of teaching. This involves a methodology, which is transfered to the desciple during the process of teaching itself. This method of teaching is known a traditional way of handling the words and delevering the knowledge from Guru to shishya. This teacher to student (Guru to Shishya) is Guru Shishya parampara. The flow of knowledge without any break. Hence it is as fresh as it obtained in the begining so we can say it is ever fresh. The Lord is presented as ever young (yuva).what is taught by the Lord is also ever fresh. It is live because the conscious being is adressed here to make that individual to awake to see the self which is free in its own glory..!! ................... Bhagavad Gita verses - the sanskrit verses of all the 18 the chapters of the Bhagavad Gita. The unfoldment of the vision of this teachings of Bhagavan Sri Krishna becomes live whenever the teaching takes place between a competent teacher and a qualified student. Amazing vision of Sri Krishna is presented by Vyasa bhagavan through these sanskrit verses which are arranged in the 18 chapters. To hear and to learn the verses makes it familiar to a person before he/she begins his/her studies.
