Send us a textGuru Purnima celebrates the sacred relationship between spiritual teacher and disciple, honoring the guru's role in revealing our true nature as formless awareness. The ultimate gift a guru offers is showing us that when we realize our nature is bliss, we no longer merely feel peace—we become peace itself.• The guru serves as a medium for highest wisdom, revealing Brahm Gyan (knowledge of formless reality)• True devotion to the guru means living in awareness of formless consciousness, not just offering praise• Ethical teachings from gurus guide householders in balancing spiritual life with worldly responsibilities• Householder path and monk path are equally valid—what matters is following your natural tendencies• Spiritual growth comes through guru's grace rather than personal effort• Being a sincere disciple means embodying the teachings in daily life• The mark of true realization is maintaining awareness of the formless even when not in the guru's presenceThank you for listening to this Guru Purnima episode. The Purusharthas are the four fundamental aims of human life in Hindu philosophy, guiding individuals toward a balanced and meaningful existence.Dharma – One's purpose and moral duty, fulfilling ethical responsibilities.Artha – Material wealth and resources needed to support Dharma.Kama – The pursuit of desires, pleasure, and emotional fulfillment.Moksha – Spiritual liberation and self-realization, the ultimate goal. The term "Purushartha" combines Purusha, meaning pure consciousness, and Artha, meaning purpose or goal. Together, they signify the pursuit of purpose, prosperity, pleasure, and liberation.Ancient texts such as the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, and Ramayana provide insights on achieving these goals. Balancing all four leads to inner fulfillment, harmony, spiritual wisdom, and unity with pure consciousness. Though Moksha is often prioritised, embracing all Purusharthas allows for a fulfilling, well-rounded life that integrates material, emotional, and spiritual well-being.To read more and to practice with Zephyr Wildman, click here. What does it mean to act without attachment—and why is that the key to spiritual freedom? Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita is so rich, I had to split it into two parts—and this second half is where the real philosophical firepower kicks in

As souls on a spiritual journey, striving to deepen our connection with the Supreme Person, Krishna, we inevitably encounter periods that feel dry and unfulfilling. The Bhagavad Gita, in its profound wisdom, speaks of the cyclical nature of life, of happiness and distress arriving like the summer and winter seasons (BG 2.14). These “dry seasons” […] The post Dry Seasons appeared first on Radha Krishna Temple in Utah.
What I've talked about today is being renounced where it counts. And there is a lesson to be learned in this world, because the whole world is available to us through our senses in various ways. Our responsibility is to learn which things to leave behind and which things to pick up. Make a list. In fact, I wrote it in my book. This one I keep with me every day. Did any of you have a to-do list? Anybody keep a to-do list? Only five people. This is scary. Okay. Well, I recommend you keep a not-to-do list. Try it, because you may have been struggling with a particular habit and you thought, 'Why do I keep doing this?' It's because it's not in your not-to-do list! Make a list and just see how powerful that is. Yeah, there's a to-do list, and it keeps growing longer, right? You keep thinking, 'I gotta do this, I gotta do that,' and you still haven't finished it all. And I hate to bring up a sore subject, but when you die, it's still going to be full. And a lot of people think, 'Oh, I didn't finish. I didn't finish. I didn't finish.' Do yourself a favor and write a not-to-do list, even if you put one thing on it—that one thing that keeps bugging you, where you can't feel your own integrity because you keep doing this one thing that makes you look in the mirror and think, 'Why am I still doing something like this?' Put it on your not-to-do list. And then, add to your to-do list the most important things: First important thing is Chant Hare Krishna.Second, read Bhagavad Gita. Third is, get some service! ----------------------------------------------------------- To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

What if peaceful system transformation isn't led from the top, but from within — through the everyday choices of those embedded in the system? In a world craving certainty, how might we learn to embrace dissonance and cracks as the starting points of meaningful change?Episode SummaryIn this episode of The Learning Future Podcast, Louka Parry speaks with renowned systems thinker and facilitator Adam Kahane, author of Everyday Habits for Transforming Systems. Drawing on more than 30 years of global experience—including his involvement in South Africa's democratic transition—Adam explores how radical engagement and individual agency contribute to peaceful system transformation. Together, Louka and Adam unpack the hidden grammars of schooling, the pitfalls of top-down reform, and the power of everyday habits to drive sustainable change. From Leonard Cohen to the Bhagavad Gita, this conversation is a deep and practical exploration of how we might lead with love and power in a time of profound flux.About Adam KahaneAdam Kahane has more than 30 years of experience in more than 50 countries working with thousands of leaders to transform social systems at all scales (organization, city, country, globe). His work has addressed many of the most important challenges of our time, including racial oppression, violent conflict among warring groups in countries, insecurity and inequity, drug problems, social unrest, unsustainable food systems, and climate change. Kahane is a bestselling author whose five previous books each have sold between 20,000 and 100,000 copies: Solving Tough Problems, Power and Love, Transformative Scenario Planning, Collaborating with the Enemy, and Facilitating Breakthrough. He is the director of Reos Partners, an international social enterprise that helps people move forward together on their most important and intractable issues.

EPISODE 557 - Ronald Okuaki Lieber - The Long Journey Out - from the place where I now am, the diary of that journeyAuthor's BioI am of Japanese and Jewish lineage, born in Tokyo, a late post WWII baby. I grew up moving every year until the age of 14 when my parents settled in Petersburg, VA. I graduated with a BS in Biology from the College of William and Mary, then served two years as a Peace Corp volunteer in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. I returned to live in NYC and eventually graduated from the MFA Program at Columbia University. I later began psychoanalytic training at the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. After graduation, I became the Director of the institute and editor of its journal, Modern Psychoanalysis. I have been in private practice since 2001 as a licensed psychoanalyst and recently completed a plant medicine guide training program at the Center for Medicine Work in Philadelphia. My entrance into poetry begins with these lines from “Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey, On Revisiting the Banks of the Wye during a Tour. July 13, 1798” by William Wordsworth:And I have felt A presence that disturbs me with the joy Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime Of something far more deeply interfused, Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns, And the round ocean and the living air, And the blue sky, and in the mind of man: A motion and a spirit, that impels All thinking things, all objects of all thought, And rolls through all things. Those lines form the basis of my book The Long Journey Out. I was a sophomore in college, adrift in the back of the room in a second semester composition class when the professor read those lines. They woke me from my stupor. There, in those lines, I heard a kindred voice that spoke to an experience I had, an LSD trip, that was, to borrow a cliché, awash in the ineffable, a boundless sense of oneness where any distinction between self and other sundered. That voice joined with another, “An unexamined life is life not worth living,” from which a path emerged, unknown to me at the time--and forgive if what follows sounds pretentious--that took me to Jung, the Peace Corps and Costa Rica, Gurdjieff, poetry, eastern doctrine through The I Ching and the Bhagavad Gita, the TS Eliot of The Four Quartets, Heidegger's Being and Time, the gospels of the New Testament, and too many other books to enumerate, and an abiding curiosity about the unconscious, thus the study and practice of Freud and psychoanalysis, meditation, making do in the East Village of the early 80s, Ashtanga yoga, domestity and two wives and two children, dabbling along the way into neuroscience, windsurfing, and cosmology. The book The Long Journey Out is, from the place where I now am, the diary of that journey.https://www.ronaldokuakilieber.com/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

Hindi - Chapter 5 Bhagavad Gita And Decision Making Bhagavad Gita Overview Chaitanya Charan by Exploring mindfulness, yoga and spirituality
A live recording of a Bhagavad Gita class given virtually on the 22nd of June 2025.
What if your stuckness, your suffering, even your failure to “get it right” on the spiritual path… is not a detour, but the path itself? In this compelling conversation, Vedic teacher Acharya Shunya meets with Phil Goldberg, bestselling author of American Veda and the forthcoming Karmic Relief: Harnessing the Laws of Cause and Effect for a Joyful, Meaningful Life (releasing October 2025). Together, they explore the deeper teachings of karma, yoga, imperfection, and inner transformation beyond spiritual clichés. Topics include: What karma really means (it's not a punishment system!) How modern yoga lost its roots—and what we can reclaim Why the Bhagavad Gita, not the Yoga Sutras, is the yogi's true guide The danger of performative sadhana vs. sincere practice How pain can teach what pleasure cannot This conversation will land for seekers who've outgrown “quick-fix” spirituality—and want the real thing: a path that's raw, honest, wise, and human. Phil Goldberg is a respected voice in global yoga circles and the host of Spirit Matters Podcast. He's been immersed in Vedic teachings for over 50 years. Season 2 of Shadow to Self is themed “Yoga Burns Again”—a call to rekindle the true fire of inner awakening. Learn more at: PhilipGoldberg.com | AcharyaShunya.com Karmic Relief releases October 2025
Embracing the Paradox. Hi Curious Yogis,I'm here with my friend Vijay and fellow meditator, and I'm so excited to share the first rendition of a new podcast format I'm calling Good Company. It's a part of The Curious Yogi Podcast, created to offer something a little different: spontaneous, live-streamed satsang that invites you, the community of listeners and Patreon members, into deeper connection and active participation. In this inaugural conversation, recorded live in Copenhagen, we dive straight into the heart of what it means to walk the spiritual path while still being fully human. It's a real, unscripted exchange. Just two seekers exploring the paradoxes of life and truth together. We touch on the nature of mind, the illusion of control, the role of desire and attachment, and reflect on timeless teachings like the Bhagavad Gita, all while holding space for not-knowing and being present with what is.Most of all, this episode is a celebration of satsang, the kind of good company that nourishes and supports true inquiry. In this episode:The paradox of being human and awareHow desire and attachment shape our experienceWisdom from the Bhagavad Gita and other sacred textsThe deep value of spiritual friendship and satsang
Devotional service and taking up spiritual practice can be heroic. You actually take a stance. You take a stand. If you don't stand for something, as they say—sorry about this—you'll fall for anything. And Krishna invites us to stand up, be strong. In another language, in the Third Chapter of the Gita, he says, "evaṁ buddheḥ paraṁ buddhvā saṁstabhyātmānam ātmanā jahi śatruṁ mahā-bāho kāma-rūpaṁ durāsadam" (BG 3.43). He's telling Arjuna, "You stand up and fight for conquering over the lower self by the higher self." So, "nirmāna-mohā jita-saṅga-doṣā"—give up false association with the world—and "adhyātma-nityā"—find out about transcendental knowledge. What that means is, read the Bhagavad Gita every day. If you want to have a nice day, read the Bhagavad Gita. If you'd like getting confused and disturbed, then just don't read it. "Adhyātma-nityā vinivṛtta-kāmāḥ." Kāmaḥ means desires that can't be fulfilled, and that's also the craziness of this world, is trying to fulfill a desire that will never be fulfilled. So he says, "Give this up." It's a permission to not engage in what most people do. "Dvandvair" means duality. It means don't see anything separate from your highest interest in life, which is to serve Krishna. Don't have a dual identity. Don't have cognitive dissonance and try to play both sides. Just be absorbed in Krishna and get everything from Krishna. Consider Krishna your protector, and consider him your maintainer. And whatever you do, do it for Krishna. You don't have to do it for anybody else. Even if you do have to do something for anybody else, consider that you're doing it for Krishna. Dvandvair, give up that sense of duality in the material world that causes consternation. And then "vimukta" means to be liberated. Be a liberated soul. "Sukha-duḥkha-saṁjñair gachanti" means now... Gachanti means you can go. "Yānti devavratā devān, pitṟn yānti pitṛvratāḥ, bhūtāni yānti bhūtejyā, yānti mad-yājino 'pi mām" means you can go wherever you want. Little jīva, free to move about the universe. You can go wherever you're able to point your attention; you can go there. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

The war in west Asia is a reflection of the war in consciousness that is being played out in every fractal of the whole of the cosmic manifestation. It is the same war that is commemorated in the Bhagavad Gita. The secret instruction to gain victory for the soul over the demonic ego is most clearly delivered in an ancient text called the Ashtavakra Samhita. There are eight major curves on the road to divine liberation. We must steer the mind accurately around each curvature of conscious space.

When you're used to something, you don't see it after a while. And when somebody new comes and looks at it, they go, "Oh, that!" Like, if you have a beautiful picture in your house, you see it all the time, so you don't even notice it until you bring someone over and they look and say, "Where'd you get that? It's beautiful!" And you go, "Oh, that? Yeah, I haven't seen it for a year." That's why it's important to bring new people into Kṛṣṇa consciousness, because they come in and they're wide-eyed—meaning, full of wonder. And then we remember that it's not just some ritual, that it's an awakening when we see other people awakening. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Today returning on Sense of Soul we have Padma Aon Prakasha he is an evolutionary catalyst and wisdom author bringing together ancient wisdom and modern science. Padma's books, music and multimedia are drawn from the traditions he has been initiated into. His books include: The Power of Shakti, Womb Wisdom, Sacred Relationships (Inner Traditions), The Christ Blueprint, The Nine Eyes of Light: Ascension Keys from Egypt (NAB/Random House), Dimensions of Love, Shiva's Hologram: The Maheshwara Sutra and The Science of Sound (O Books). Since 1997 he has presented, lectured and taught in 20 countries worldwide. After being initiated into the Brahmin lineage at age 4, he read the Bhagavad Gita followed by the Bible at age 7 and a whole host of spiritual teachings by age 11. When he was 21 he had an experience of the AUM and God Consciousness that changed his life forever, followed by a direct and unexpected meeting with Christ Yeshua. Shortly after this, Padma was initiated in India through a Near Death Experience in Badrinath by Master Babaji, and into the Saivite Lineage in Kedarnath. Further Initiations into Saivite Tantra and the RK Veda through the Arunachala Sampradaya and Ganesha followed. Padma was also Initiated into Tibetan Tantras through female teachers Prem Prabhuta and Margot Anand, and is an Initiate in the Order of Melchizedek. Padma's most powerful ‘formal' Initiations came through Sri Om, an Awakened teacher in London from the Lineage of Buddha Maitreya, associated with the enlightened wisdom of many traditions. After this, Padma sat in Samadhi, the highest form of bliss meditation, for two months, 16 hours a day. Samadhi activates the pineal gland and many dormant gifts within us, which Padma then demonstrated through his numerous books, workshops and transmissions over the ensuing years. https://padmaaon.com Visit www.senseofsoulpodcast.com
Student: How did you find your path? Did you do something else before, right? Vaisesika Dasa: Well, I got involved in this when I was around 16. Student: Oh, that's pretty early. Vaisesika Dasa: I became a monk when I was 16. From the time I was born, I had a curiosity about what life was, why I was here in the world, and why I had to die, things like that. Student:Okay Vaisesika Dasa: But in high school, I came into this Bhagavad Gita and other spiritual knowledge. My teacher is from the tradition of Bhagavad Gita. You know Bhagavad Gita? Bhagavad Gita is from India. It's where yoga comes from, meditation. Teaches that the body's like a machine, but the consciousness, the soul inside, is the driver. ----------------------------------------------------------- To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

What it means is, you don't get to determine how it turns out, but you do get to plant your seeds of goodness. And as Thoreau says, ‘Convince me you have a seed there, and I'm prepared to expect miracles.' You get to plant the seeds, and eventually, in their own time, they bear fruit. That's not your job. Your job is to make a beautiful garden, to plant beautiful things, and to tend them.” – Jack KornfieldAbout Ocean Robbins:Ocean Robbins is an American entrepreneur and author, best known for his role as the co-founder of Food Revolution Network, Inc. Speaking across the decades, from the 1960s to the 2010s, Ram Dass shares his insights into responding to suffering, the meaning of service, and the confluence of social action and spiritual work. The Ram Dass community gathers regularly to engage in meaningful discussions about the podcast. We invite you to join us and share your curiosities, insights, and wisdom. Sign up for the General Fellowship to receive event invitations directly in your inbox. This episode of Here and Now is a compilation of Ram Dass talking about service and social action across the decades. We begin in 1969, during a time of significant cultural change. A time where the people of the United States found themselves in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, the anti-war protests, and the rise of Women's Liberation. Ram Dass explores the concept of social responsibility and talks about why protesting should come from a place not of anger, but of love.Next, we move to 1983. The media landscape has transformed in the wake of the Iran hostage crisis, political paradigms shift as Ronald Reagan makes his way to power, and communities all over the world begin to feel the impact of the growing AIDS epidemic. Ram Dass talks about learning to trust one's intuitive inner voice when it comes to responding to suffering, and how we can bring together social action and spiritual work. Two years later, it is 1985 and the world has rapidly evolved. The Soviet Union has become a global threat. The nightly news shows the Apartheid regime in South Africa violently cracking down on Civil Rights activists, while the Reagan administration stands by, focused instead on rolling back civil liberties at home in the United States. Ram Dass offers perspective on navigating these challenges with an open heart. He explores the difference between dharma and seva, and why service requires us to embrace paradox in our lives. It is 1993, technology is transforming the world and how we engage with it. Ram Dass explores how being too attached to the fruits of our actions can be detrimental to social action work, leading activists to burn out quickly. We end our journey across the decades in 2018, in the middle of the first Trump administration in America. Wars rage on, and civil liberty is at risk across the globe. How do we oppose this skillfully and with an open heart? Ram Dass talks about how karma yoga is the key to finding the right balance between working on yourself and taking action for the benefit of others. And if you're too obsessed with the goal, you lose it. If you're too obsessed with the goal, since in much action you don't get what you want, you'll burn out much sooner. And so, the injunction of the Bhagavad Gita, which says be not identified with being the actor, be not attached to the fruits of the action, and yet, the action happens.” – Ram DassSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
