Pressoché sconosciuta, invece, è la sequenza precedente, cioè la disputa tra farisei e sadducei intorno all'identità di Cristo come Messia. Una sequenza che ora Israel Knohl restituisce in modo magistrale, seguendo in un percorso inedito lo sviluppo millenario di due correnti contrapposte del pensiero biblico, messianica e antimessianica, che collidono drammaticamente nel processo a Gesù. Portatori di una visione «popolare», i farisei credono alla venuta di una «figura eccelsa» in grado di restaurare «la grandezza della Casa di Davide», e pur non riconoscendo in Gesù quella figura, abbracciano la posizione filomessianica. All'opposto, è l'idea stessa di messianismo a risultare blasfema per i sadducei, che ne rigettano le ragioni ultime, dalla resurrezione dei morti ai concetti di premio e castigo. Alfa e omega di questa radicalità dottrinaria, la distanza incolmabile tra il divino e l'umano, a sua volta riconducibile a un'interpretazione severa della Torah. Nel rimarcare come il giudizio su Gesù spettasse proprio ai sadducei – egemoni nel Sinedrio –, Knohl smantella con la sua avvincente narrazione una serie di stereotipi e pregiudizi consolidati: dimostra come le radici teologiche del processo a Gesù siano da ricercarsi in un conflitto interno al giudaismo, non tra giudaismo e (proto)cristianesimo; e come le responsabilità della sua morte non si possano in alcun modo ascrivere al «popolo ebraico nel suo complesso» (Concilio Vaticano II), come vuole l'adagio «deicida» a lungo impresso quale marchio indelebile su un'intera comunità.Israel Knohl è un eminente biblista e storico israeliano, già professore alla Hebrew University e senior fellow allo Shalom Hartman Institute. Uno sfortunato evento ma le preoccupazioni dell'avvocato Isotta Fraschini insinuano il dubbio che dietro ci sia molto di più. Trovando conferma nella scoperta sul cadavere due colpi di pistola di piccolo calibro. Il passato della vittima si rivela più nebuloso del previsto e l'inchiesta sembra condurre verso i rapporti che l'uomo teneva con un gruppo esoterico torinese, le cui riunioni notturne si svolgono in via Cappel Verde. La verità è un'ombra sfuggente, che a qualcuno serve rimanga tale.Ròtari deve districarsi tra menzogne sapientemente costruite, silenzi interessati e poteri che agiscono lontano dalla legge, trovandosi a confrontarsi non solo con la complessità di un caso che coinvolge personaggi della Torino bene, alte sfere del potere e figure influenti dell'economia, ma anche con l'ambiguità dell'animo umano.Il rapporto tra la magia e Torino non è solo una “leggenda nera”. Tra le pagine del romanzo fa capolino il professor Massimo Introvigne, grande esperto di nuove religioni, fondatore del Cesnur di Torino, interpellato da Vitari come da Ròtari, per meglio comprendere la tradizione spiritica torinese: qui, infatti, nel 1863 venne fondata la Società Torinese di Studi Spiritici, che l'anno dopo iniziò a pubblicare gli “Annali dello Spiritismo d'Italia”, e le fila degli spiritisti locali annoveravano perfino il più famoso positivista della città, Cesare Lombroso.Un romanzo che avvolge il lettore in un'atmosfera cupa e ambigua, dove la verità sembra celarsi dietro al soprannaturale, e solo l'indagine con le sue procedure, mantiene il senso della realtà in cerca della logica del delitto. Scoprendo, alla fine, che più che il diavolo potè il suo sterco (e le sue corna). Giorgio Vitari, torinese, nato nel 1948, dopo gli studi classici si è laureato in Giurisprudenza. Nel 1977 è entrato in magistratura dove è rimasto per oltre quarant'anni, sempre nel ramo penale: come pretore penale e sostituto procuratore a Torino e poi procuratore della Repubblica a Ivrea, Vercelli e Asti e infine come avvocato generale presso la procura generale di Torino. È in pensione dal 2018. Ha pubblicato “Il procuratore e la casa del pavone”, Morrone, 2021. Tisíce iných za svoj boj s teokratickým režimom zaplatili aj životom.Irán – ešte pred pár dňami krajina s celonárodnými protestami proti teokratickému režimu na čele s ajatolláhom Alím Chameneím. Tri týždne verejného odporu - v krajine, kde sa za odpor vešia. A to verejne. Napriek tomu vyšli do ulíc. Najprv nespokojní obchodníci, ku ktorým sa pridali mladí ľudia a študenti. Kritiku životnej úrovne a dražoby rozšírili o kritiku moci. V stovke miest po celej krajine.Reakcia? Armádna streľba do davov, zatýkanie, vyhrážky popravami. Následne informačný blackout. Vypnutý internet i telefonické linky.A Trumpov prísľub pomoci, „ktorá mala byť na ceste“. Po tom, ako Iráncov vyzýval k prevzatiu inštitúcií.Po inom prísľube – a síce, že režim prestane s popravami – americký prezident akoby na ten svoj prísľub zabudol.Bilancia? Irán bez protestov. John Conneely, Deputy assistant General Secretary of ASTI, and science teacher at St.Flannan's College Ennis, joined Alan Morrissey on Morning Focus to discuss the findings of a new parents survey. A newly published Parents of Ireland Survey 2026, which captures the views of nearly 2,000 parents nationwide. The survey highlights growing concerns around access to special educational needs assessments, long waiting times for children's mental health services, pressure on family finances, and attitudes to issues like compulsory Irish and mobile phones in schools. Ireland's teacher recruitment and retention crisis is not a temporary fluctuation but a system challenge that threatens the quality of education and equity for young people. This was the message conveyed to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Education by ASTI General Secretary Kieran Christie on Wednesday. Mr Christie referenced recent ASTI and RedC research which found that the teacher supply crisis is impacting on every part of the school system, including 75% of schools advertising posts for which no applicant applied, and many second-level schools relying on non-qualified, out-of-field, or casual teachers. The ASTI is calling for a number of measures to address the current teacher supply crisis. Salvatore Ferragamo Jr., the grandchild of Salvatore Ferragamo, the fashion designer and founder of the renowned Italian luxury fashion house known for its shoes and accessories since 1927, will be this year's special guest. Ferragamo's grandson owns part of the family wine company out of Tuscany, Il Borro, a super Tuscan wine producer, and Pinino, a Brunello wine producer. There will be a Ferragamo wine station open throughout the entire weekend of the festival, offering wine bottles and tastings. Ferragamo Jr. will attend the event briefly on Sunday afternoon. The two-day festival will feature over 30 wines from various regions in Italy, new Valley food vendors such as Luna by Giada and Elephante, along with returning favorites like Pomo Pizzeria, Mamma Lucy, Marcellino Ristorante and several others. Merchant vendors such as Outrageous Oils, Italian Harmony and Mamma Letizia will offer a selection of curated Italian products at the event. Additional items available include ceramic pottery from Lome, handcrafted apparel from Tea n Lace, jewelry, leather handbags and original artwork. This year, the festival will feature two stages with live entertainment along the waterfront. Programming includes cooking demonstrations from the festival's title sponsor, Greco & Sons, music performances by Ripalta Bufo, Sima and her All-Star Quartet, the Steve Ansel band and various street performers, including a group of 15 flag twirlers from Asti, Italy. Children can also enjoy face painting and balloon making at the event. The festival provides three ticket packages. The Salvatore Ferragamo Experience is available for $99.99 during the presale period from now until Tuesday, Sept. 30, offering one general admission ticket, six wine tasting tickets, four Ferragamo wine tasting tickets, as well as a wine glass and lanyard. After the presale, the price increases to $125 and does not include the wine glass or lanyard. The “La Strada del Vino” package consists of one general admission ticket, six wine tasting tickets, a wine glass and a lanyard, priced at $49.99 for presale and $65 at the regular rate. General admission tickets cost $15 if purchased in advance and $25 at the door. Children aged 12 and under receive free entry to the festival. The celebrations don't stop there. Ferragamo Jr. will also have an exclusive meet and greet experience on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of the Ferragamo store in Scottsdale Fashion Square, right next to the festival. For $150, guests can personally meet Ferragamo Jr. and select a bottle of either the highly rated Super Tuscan Il Borro or the Brunello di Montalcino from Pinino. Following the festival, Ferragamo Jr. will host an exclusive dinner on Monday, Oct. 27 at Virtu Honest Craft in Scottsdale. Limited to 50 guests, this event will feature a seven-course menu paired with wines from Il Borro and Pinino, offering attendees the opportunity to dine alongside Ferragamo Jr. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the Italian Association in support of building a future Italian Culture Center.
