Ever heard of Tertius? He appears exactly once in the entire Bible—Romans 16:22—where he writes, "I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord." He was Paul's scribe, the one who actually penned the 7,000+ words of Romans with cramped hands and careful letters. Here's the truth: If Tertius hadn't done what he did, Paul couldn't have done what he did. Not everyone is called to be Paul. Most of us are called to be Tertius—the faithful servants working behind the scenes. And that matters eternally. This world tries to make us feel small and inconsequential. But God put Tertius in Scripture to tell us something crucial: NO believer is inconsequential to the kingdom of God. Your life matters. Your faith matters. Your witness matters. You have a calling, and God is holding a place for you to fill it.
We've been treating peace like something we have to earn. Like once the finances stabilize, once the relationship feels easier, once the career finally clicks — then we can relax. Then we can breathe. Then we get to feel okay. But what if peace was never tied to your circumstances at all?In this episode I'm breaking down one of the most quoted verses in the Bible — Romans 8:28 — and why I think most of us have been reading it wrong. "All things working together" isn't God promising to rearrange your life. It's an invitation to make a decision before anything changes. A decision to trust, to surrender, and to choose peace as an act of faith. If you've been waiting for your life to get better before you let yourself feel peace, this episode is going to challenge that. Because peace isn't the reward for things working out. It's the decision you make before they do.FOLLOW US: @girlsirlpod@mariahhutchinson_Don't forget to leave a 5 star review!
This weekend we dove into two of the most memorized, most known, most powerful verses in all the Bible… Romans 12:1-2 tells us to "not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.”Let's be honest… The pattern of this world is pretty chaotic. It's not very hard to find bad news. Because of that it becomes easy as believers to live, not in response to the grace of God, but in reaction to the chaos of the world. When we constantly consume the chaos, we will conform to the chaos. It gets into our minds and soul and affects every part of our life. Yet Jesus, the Prince of Peace, walks into the middle of our chaos and offers relief. He urges us to live in reaction, not to chaos, but his mercy. These verses help us to better understand how what we consume shapes who we become, why chaos is constantly fighting for our attention, what it means to become a “living sacrifice.” Scripture urges us to take chaotic thoughts captive before they take us captive, and how can we allow Jesus to renew our minds and form us into people of peace. Tune into this week's message as we unpack this in a message called, “No Longer Conforming to Chaos.”Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11:15am, & 5pm (C&V Service).Connect to Captivate! - https://shorturl.at/nKxQuDownload the Captivate App to Stay Connected! - https://shorturl.at/5PfXPIf you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Title: Obedecer o No Obedecer el Evangelio Speaker: César Augusto García Rincón Series: Sermones Evangelísticos Date: 26 de abril de 2026 Bible: Romans 10:16 YouTube: https://youtu.be/Rc5NJnNLTLk SermonAudio: https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/42726085238 El sermón argumenta que el Evangelio demanda una respuesta de su oyente. El Evangelio, presentado como un mensaje celestial, poderoso y necesario, no es una simple enseñanza humana, sino la buena nueva de que Dios ofrece perdón, reconciliación y vida eterna gratuitamente a los pecadores, incluso a los más rebeldes, siempre que se arrepientan y confíen en Cristo. La desobediencia al Evangelio no es un simple desinterés, sino una negación de la veracidad de Dios y un rechazo del único Salvador, con consecuencias eternas para quien lo rechaza.
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is: While We Were Yet Sinners Today we spent time in one of the most powerful passages in the entire Bible—Romans 5:6–11. The message is simple, but it is life-changing: God demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners. Think about what we saw together. 1. First, we learned that humanity is helpless in sin. We cannot rescue ourselves or earn our way back to God. 2. Second, we saw the astonishing truth that Christ died for sinners. God did not wait until we were worthy. Instead, Jesus stepped into our brokenness and took our place on the cross. 3. Third, we discovered that through the blood of Jesus we are justified and reconciled to God. The barrier between us and God has been removed. 4. And finally, we saw that salvation leads to joy in God Himself. When we belong to Christ, we are not only forgiven—we are welcomed into a restored relationship with our Creator. * * * * * Once again, thanks for joining us in our time of worshiping the Lord through His Word! Our new Bible series this year focuses on passages of Scripture that can be difficult to navigate or know what to do with. This month, we take a closer look at Romans 13, examining how Paul understands the role of government and how Christians are called to approach faithfulness and obedience to the law. This passage has often been used to silence dissent—but is that truly Paul's intent, or is there a more faithful and nuanced way to read it?
