This week we hear how Romans 11:36 calls us out of being self made, and into being God-made, God-sustained, and God-aimed.
In this episode of the MRO off-season Bible reading plan we share a short devotion on Romans 11.

What is the "chief end" of man? In this sermon, we explore why the answer to our modern identity crisis isn't found in a new algorithm, but in the historic truth that we were made to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. From the creation of the world to the bodily ascension of Jesus Christ, we see that God places a high status on humanity. Join us as we discuss how to reclaim our humanity in 2026 by prioritizing local relationships and embracing our creaturely limits.
"Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!" Romans 11:33
December 14, 2025 sermon from Providence Reformed Church Las Vegas by Pastor Travis Peterson
Have you ever felt like you weren't good enough to come to God? Some churches might say you have to fix your life before coming to church or even getting to know Christ, but you don't wait to get better before going to the doctor, do you? You go to the doctor because you're sick and because you need help. And today, Pastor Richard invites you to come to Jesus just as you are, and let Him be the one to change your heart

In the world we live in today, it's easy to look at others and think we have a better standing with God because of what we believe or how we live. But in today's message, Pastor Richard reminds us that we're not to look down on anyone, especially on those who haven't yet believed. The truth is, we've been grafted into God's promises by His grace alone. And that's not a reason for pride, but a reason to be thankful and give glory to God.
Fr. Mike reflects on Stephen's heroic martyrdom and points out how those around him refused to hear him and hardened their hearts, something we too can do with the Word of God. In the book of Romans, Fr. Mike also highlights the importance of offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, responding to the call to love and to not be conformed to this world, and remembering that Christians have been grafted onto the tree of Israel. Today we read Acts 7, Romans 11-12, and Proverbs 27:13-14. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.
