Paul loves Israel dearly, and wants them to know that Jesus is, in fact, their promised Messiah. In preaching about putting the law to death, he doesn't want to communicate that Israel has somehow been forgotten or rejected in the process. While not all of Israel will be saved, there will be a remnant chosen by grace. Paul turns to address the Gentiles of Rome directly to show them how important Israel is to their salvation. They, and all who are not of Jewish decent, have been grafted into Israel, which means that the roots planted and secured through Israel are what allow us to thrive and flourish in the life-giving faith that comes through submitting to Jesus, our Deliverer who comes from Zion. :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

In this episode of Uncommon Sense, we're talking about Tucker Carlson's highly discussed interview with Senator Ted Cruz. I'll be sharing my honest thoughts on how it went, why I think Tucker came out ahead, and what this kind of bold, unscripted, and unapologetically frank conversation means for the future of political discourse (spoiler: I'm all for it). We'll go into why I support constructive confrontation—yes, even when it gets "mean" and uncomfortable. The Founding Fathers didn't tiptoe around the truth, so why should we? They debated passionately because the stakes were high. The polite punditry act is wearing thin, and people are tired of political puppets mouthing safe lines. They're craving what we saw here: real conviction, real disagreement, and real questions. We'll cover why I believe Tucker won this exchange: from his biblical literacy to his serious concerns about foreign lobbying groups like AIPAC having a hand in U.S. policy. Ted got visibly nervous when pressed about Scripture, about Israel, and about U.S. involvement in a possible war with Iran. And the question still lingers: Why are we only now suddenly being pushed to act, when Trump was reportedly targeted by Iran two years ago? Most importantly, we'll reflect on Tucker's question—a theological one with deep political ramifications: Who is the real Israel according to God? Is it the modern state that does not believe Jesus is Lord and historically has required a denial of Christ for Jewish returnees? Or is it the true church—those who belong to Christ?I'll share my belief unapologetically: Israel is the body of believers in Jesus Christ. Not those who reject Him. Not those who crucified Him. That's a hard truth, but a necessary one in these last days when clarity very much matters.Faith shouldn't be a popularity contest.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOorwAVEYslTlOGA-36_bHHjruNDOebEKWQ6M2115NZZwL8WG_ali

On this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I explain why I've shifted to a neutral stance on the Israel-Iran conflict. While mainstream media pressures us to “pick a side,” Scripture tells a deeper story, one that's not bound by modern borders or politics.Christians are the true Israel, not by race or nation, but by faith in Christ. The Church is the chosen people of God, not a geopolitical state. So why are we being told that standing with the a government equals standing with God?We'll unpack the phrase “Judeo-Christian”—what it really means (and what it doesn't)—and discuss how religiously manipulative narratives can cloud our judgment. Supporting everything any group does (whether Jewish, Christian, or Muslim) is not biblical discernment. It's idolatry.None of us are perfect. Not every Christian represents Christ well, and not every Jew or Muslim represents their faith's ideals either. So let's step back, seek the truth, and refuse to be emotionally blackmailed into blind allegiance.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

Paul breaks forth in glorious worship as he comes to the end of this section where he examines and works through God’s dealings with Israel. He concludes his summary of the redemptive purposes of God among both Jews and Gentiles. Then, he worships. It is a picture of how deep God’s salvation had penetrated his soul. Prior to Christ, we picture Paul as a very constrained, narrow and unemotional man. Post-Christ, we find a man who has been stretched emotionally and breaks forth in joyful adoration and worship at the wonder and glory of God. This is the purpose of Bible study. The purpose of Bible study is not merely moral. The purpose of Bible study is not to simply to make you better. The purpose of Bible study is to bring you to a place of worship. You are meant to study and read so that you might truly know the God of all creation—the One who made you, who loves you, who saved you and who is coming again to reign. When you see Him as He is, your only response is to fall on your face in awe and cry, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty! Who is like the Lord our God?” True theology and Bible study should be followed by purity and morality but also by adoration and glory. As we have come to see in Romans again and again, the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I pray you will join us this weekend as we study one of the most profound and wonderful passages in all of Romans. My prayer is that all of us, both believer and non-believer, would see and taste the glory of God and the joy and peace and grace that can only be found in Him.

So much of our evangelism training today centers around the skill or the art of initiating a gospel conversation with someone. How do I navigate the daily activities and conversations of life in such a way that open a door of opportunity for the gospel? This is so important, because it reminds us that our primary mission as we go into the world is to glorify God and to point others to Christ. As we live and interact with others in this world, we pray that we would see the opportunities that God gives us and the open doors that He provides for gospel conversations. Wouldn’t it be great, however, if the people around us were initiating gospel conversations with us, rather than us seeking to initiate conversations with them? What if our lives and the joy we have in Christ and the joy we find in fellowship with other believers were so unique and so extraordinary that those around began to experience a kind of jealousy towards us? What if the people around us, as they witnessed our lives, began to have a longing for eternal privileges that have come to us as a free gift in Christ? That is exactly Paul’s prayer for the Gentile believers in Rome. That their lives and fellowship and joy of salvation would create a kind of jealousy for spiritual things among the non-believing Jews. But this idea is predicated upon a foundational truth that we give them something spiritually in our lives that is worth being jealous of. I pray that you will join us this weekend as we continue to walk through Romans. Make plans now to join us in one of our many worship service opportunities both on Saturday and Sunday that we may experience the riches of God’s kindness in Christ Jesus, our Lord. — Pastor Chad McDonald

What happens when deep theology meets awe-inspiring worship? In this powerful and passionate sermon, Pastor Tim walks us through the stunning conclusion of Paul's Gospel treatise in Romans 11—and it ends not with more teaching, but with praise. This isn't your typical Bible study. It's a soul-stirring invitation to move from head knowledge to heartfelt worship. Discover why God's boundless wisdom, flawless judgment, and awe-inspiring mercy leave us with no other response than “To Him be the glory forever.” Whether you're in a season of joy or confusion, you'll be reminded that God doesn't need our counsel—He invites our trust. Expect moments of laughter, deep conviction, and that unmistakable sense of God's greatness as Pastor Tim shows us how the story of redemption—from Adam to Christ, from Jew to Gentile—was never just about information. It was always leading to worship. Tune in to be challenged, comforted, and ultimately lifted into praise for a God whose ways are unsearchable but always good.
