Title: The Gospel that Reaches All - Reach: Part 1 - Woodside Bible Church
Join us this Memorial Day Weekend in Acts 8.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! God honors the faithfulness of godly women. What does a life of gospel faithfulness look like? Open to Acts 9:36-42 and follow along with us to learn!
The message of Easter tells us that Jesus defeated death, rose from the grave, and ascended into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God. This is a powerful story, but if we're honest, the thought of Christ's ascension can be a confusing idea. So, what does His ascension really mean? Listen in as we talk about how God's plan for our Savior resulted in Jesus ruling over us with intention, interceding for us with love, and commissioning us for a special mission.

What if the resurrection wasn't just a moment in history—but the turning point of your life? The death and resurrection of Jesus isn't just an annual reflection—it's the event that changed everything. In the Gospel of Mark, we meet four witnesses who reveal who Jesus is: a Roman soldier who calls Him the Son of God, a religious leader who buries Him as King, women who proclaim Him risen, and a young man in white who points to our hope of new life.Jesus conquered the grave, breaks our sin cycles, and offers us restoration. By placing your faith and trust in Christ's hands, He offers a way out of shame and gives us a garment of new life and renewal.Listen in and discover how the risen Christ invites you into a new beginning.
In Mark chapter 11, Jesus enters Jerusalem at the beginning of Holy Week, where He reveals Himself as the Messiah to the multitudes who had traveled there to celebrate the Passover. Now, thousands of years later, His identity remains the same: our righteous deliverer and promised king.Jesus is the solution to our sin, emptiness, and restlessness — so how will you respond to His arrival? We have the choice to either accept and celebrate His offer of salvation, or reject Him and face His judgement. Listen in as we unpack God's message to us through Christ's entry into Jerusalem: I have come to set you free!
What does it mean when believers take Communion? As followers of Christ, Communion calls us to unity, personal reflection, and the public declaration of our faith. The act of taking Communion impacts both our walk with Jesus and our relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ. Join us as we take a deeper look at God's design through the lens of the Lord's Supper.1 Corinthians 11:17-34 ESV
You can't escape God. That might sound unsettling, and you may wonder how it's even possible. The truth is, God is sovereign—He reigns over the world and our lives. His power is unmatched, and His justice is perfect. When God calls you, there's no running away from responding to Him. His purpose is intentional, His passion is invitational, and His power is undeniable. The Creator of the universe desires a personal relationship with us, and His love for us is vast and unshakable. Join us as we explore what it truly means when God calls us and why His invitation is inescapable.
Have you ever put Jesus in a box? It's easy for us to shape Christ into the Person we have in our minds, but in doing so, we'll fail to see Him for who He truly is—the great I AM. Jesus is not someone we can mold to our liking; He is the living Savior who deserves our full reverence and trust. By His grace, let's open our hearts to the true Jesus, allowing His nature to shape us—not the other way around. Join us as we discover how God's people can rightly know Jesus.John 9:1-43 ESV
Have you ever failed to truly recognize Jesus? It's easy for us to shape Christ into the image we desire in our minds, but in doing so, we fail to see Him for who He truly is—the great I AM. Jesus is not someone we can mold to our liking; He is the living Savior who deserves our full reverence and understanding. By His grace, let us open our hearts to the true Jesus, allowing His nature to reshape us. Join us as we reflect on this question and discover how God's people can rightly know Jesus.Join us as we will be in John 6:14-21 (ESV).
What are your motives for following Jesus? Perhaps you've never considered this, or maybe you have. Either way, our true reasons for following Jesus will eventually reveal themselves. Not everyone follows Him for the right reasons—some may follow only for personal gain, rather than seeking a genuine relationship with Christ. As we walk with Him, it's important to reflect on our motives and ensure they align with His purpose. Listen in as we walk through John 6:1-15, 25-35.
How does Jesus demonstrate His divine authority? In the Gospels, we see Jesus healing the sick, drawing people to repentance, and working on the Sabbath. These counter-cultural acts revealed His ultimate authority as the Son of God. Jesus is the sovereign Lord who commands us to live in the fullness of His grace, repent of our sins, and join in His ongoing work of renewal in the world. Listen in as we walk through John 5:1-18.
Our culture is defined by conditional allegiances. IF you do what I expect, THEN I will do what you expect. IF you love me the right way, THEN will I love you the right way. Conditional relationships with our spouses, with our families, with our friends, with our kids, with our bosses, with our barbers, with our baristas, with everybody. They all have requirements. Since conditional and transactional relationships dominate the way we relate to one another, do you think it's possible we put conditions on Christ? Lets jump into part 3 of our series "Signs of the King" to explore how the bible instructs us to interface with these cultural tensions.
We are continuing in our message series, Signs of the King, looking at the Gospel of John to discover who Jesus is. In life, we are constantly searching for direction. We desire guidance, even if we are getting it from the wrong places. As a result of our misguided searches, we are left even further from our hope. The Bible makes it clear for us, that in every circumstance, we can lean on Jesus. What does it mean to lean on Jesus? We must come to Jesus, fully obey Him, and receive the gift of Christ. When we are in Christ, we can rest in the truth that we can trust and lean on Him in any and everything. Join us for another message of the series, The Secret Sign, and discover how you can lean on Jesus in all circumstances.
Do you know what the Book of Signs is? You may not have heard of it before but it's another name for the Book of John. The Gospel of John helps us understand Jesus, the crowds, the disciples, and ourselves. We are beginning a new sermon series titled, Signs of the King, where we will dive into the first eleven books of John while looking at the signs and wonders Jesus performed. As we walk through each of these chapters, we will consider openly who Jesus is and what that means for us. So, what will you find if you investigate Jesus? When we're in Christ, we discover that He answers honest skepticism, honors sincere inquiry, and calls for sustained attention. We are offered an invitation to investigate Jesus, and that invitation can lead to spiritual illumination. Join us for the first message of the series, Come and See, and pay attention to how the Lord may be stirring in your heart.
Today, as we turn our attention to the last section of Jesus' prayer in John 17, we see another group of people who are on his mind and heart, all that would believe in Him. As Jesus stood on the precipice of the pinnacle of His work of salvation, Jesus looked forward to all those in the years, decades, and even centuries ahead who would trust in his life-saving work and surrender to His Lordship, and he prayed for them. So, if someone's prayer life reveals their concerns and desires, what does Jesus' final prayer section reveal about His desire for His followers? Join us today as we dive into this important life defining question.
We have been studying John 17 throughout our series, Why Pray? In this passage, we read a prayer that Jesus prayed just hours before His crucifixion. At the Last Supper, we see Him praying to His Father over His disciples and His purpose. Within Christ's prayer, we can find the purpose that He longs for us, His children, to have. Because we're set apart as followers of Christ, our purpose is found in Jesus and built on Him alone. It's all about Jesus. Join us for our latest sermon, How Do We Know God's Purpose for Us? and find out why prayer is so vital to knowing our purpose in Christ.
Today, as we continue in our series, Why Pray? We will continue to see how through prayer we can come to know Christ deeper. Can we be confident when we pray for God's protection? Yes, we can! But to solidify this truth we will see examples from scripture. We can be confident in God's protection because God keeps us in salvation, in His joy, and from the evil one. Why should we pray? To seek God's protection. We don't have to live in fear because we have a Father who is more than able to protect us. Join us in the latest message of the series, Knowing God's Protection, and run to God with all your requests, He is faithful to cover us in His love.
As we continue in our series, Why Pray? We will look at how the Lord has been generous towards us. The more time we spend in the Word, the more we will learn God's character. Jesus' heart is for His children and those who will follow Him. He is trustworthy and His Word is true. Christ cares for us deeply and we see that through all He has given us. God has given us to Christ and Christ has given us God's Word. So, why should we pray? To know the generosity of God. Join us in the latest message of the series, Is God Generous? And hear how Christ has been greatly generous toward His children.
This new year we are beginning a new series, Why Pray, looking at the High Priestly prayer Jesus prayed to examine why and how we should pray. So, why should we pray? To glorify God. When we pray, we are entering into a conversation with God, the Holiest of all. He loves to hear from His children and through our time spent in prayer, we get to know who He is and grow in intimacy with our Father. When we acknowledge God as Father, Jesus as Son, and the glory of Christ we are glorifying God through prayer. Join us in the first message of the series, How to Glorify God in Prayer, and learn how we can grow in our prayer lives.
Happy Sunday, church family! We hope you are enjoying this Christmas season and have had moments to reflect on what this time of year means for us. As we enter into a new year, we are praying for you and that you would experience God's blessings. Join us this Sunday as we hear from Pastor Jim Dahlke and talk about The Power of God. We hope this week's sermon blessed you and that it challenged you in your faith.
As we carry on in our Radiant series, we will hear about how Jesus' incarnation brings us peace today. Life is unpredictable, we face loss and pain, at times it can feel like we are constantly being tossed in the waves of distress. So, how do we come up for air and find peace? Clinging to the faithfulness and certainty of Gods promises through these times, can serve as an anchor for our souls. As we wait for Jesus' return, where He will eradicate war, pain, and loss, we should rejoice, pray, and serve in the meantime. The coming of Christ ultimately brings the death of war. We can press on with the hope that Jesus promises peace through the Holy Spirit, and we can live with intention in the meantime. Join us in the latest message of the series, The Light of Peace, put your faith in action and trust in Christ.
We are continuing in our Advent series, Radiant, looking at the birth of Jesus and the importance it had then and what it means for us now. Jesus frees us from our captivity of sin and shame. Through His gift of relationship with Him, Christ frees us from the burden of sin, He crushes the pain of Satan's accusations and defeats the tyrant of death. We are a people in desperate need of deliverance, to find liberty in Christs gift of salvation. We need His hope to change our lives and free us from the bondage of sin. May this bring encouragement to you that the coming of Christ brings liberty to enslaved sinners. Join us in the latest message of the series, The Light of Liberty, receive Christ's gift to you and experience the freedom He brings to us.
Last week we kicked off our Advent series, Radiant, diving into the hope that Christ holds and the gift that is found in Jesus' birth. The light that the coming of Jesus brings us is eternal, He offers us hope and joy. In Him, we can experience forever joy—that never dissipates, even in the difficult parts of life. Jesus fills us with joy by growing our family, bringing us to a table of celebration, and giving us forever joy. Life throws us a lot of different joys, many bring us happiness, but when the joy of receiving goes away what are we left with? What hope we have in Christ—the light of joy, we get everlasting joy that isn't dependent on circumstance or temporary pleasures. Tune in to the latest message of the series, The Light of Joy, and cling to Christ's everlasting joy.
We are beginning our Advent series, Radiant, unpacking how Christ holds the hope and light we desperately need. In the book of Isaiah, chapter 9, there are two promises within, that we will look at today. With Jesus, our gloom is overcome with glory and our darkness is overcome with light. We are promised transformation and freedom in Christ when we turn from our sinful ways. The light of Jesus is undeniable, it permeates every part of our lives and has the power to bring us out of depths of gloom. Join us this Christmas season as we jump into a new series. Tune in to the first message, The Light of Hope, and hear how the coming of Christ is the light of hope the world needs.
Enjoy this Stand-Alone message on gratitude and thanksgiving from our Campus Pastor Jim Dahlke.
This Sunday, we will hear from Pastor Chris about sharing the joy of the Gospel. In the church, it's important for us to have leaders who teach the Gospel and members who take the Gospel and to share it with neighbors who need the Gospel. Listen to our latest message, Spreading the Joy of the Gospel, and be encouraged to share the love of Christ.
This week we are finishing our study through the book of Galatians, learning the Good News of Christ and the freedom found in salvation through Jesus. In the final chapter, Paul addresses the church urging them to keep each other accountable and to bear one another's burdens. As we strive to walk in the Gospel we must keep in step with God's spirit. We can do this by immersing ourselves in Christ-centered community and freedom. God gave us the gift of fellowship; we have each other to lean on and to have accountability as we walk in the light of God's spirit. Tune in to the last message of the series, Walking in the Gospel, and be encouraged to remain in step with the spirit.
Today we continue in our message series in Galatians, Good News, diving into what it means to be free in Christ. Before we come to know Christ, we long to gratify our desires, our flesh. We live with internal passions to be fulfilled; every time we fulfill them, they grow. Once we have come to know Jesus and accepted Him as our savior, we learn that those in Christ have crucified their flesh along with their passions and desires. Yet, we still may experience these desires from our old life. So, as we learn to walk with the Spirit, Jesus points out a few steps we should take as we walk alongside Him. We must recognize that we have an inner struggle that goes towards fulfilling our flesh, we should acknowledge the fruit that is growing in our life and put our flesh to death in Christ Jesus. When we walk with the Spirit and crucify our flesh, we will see godly attributes growing in our lives like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Join us in the newest message of the series, The Gospel Life of the Spirit, and learn how to walk with the Spirit.
We are continuing in our Galatians series, Good News, studying the freedom from the law and security found in the Gospel. When we find ourselves going back to our old ways, habits, or sins, it's as if we are re-enslaving ourselves to the law and forfeiting our liberty in Jesus. Paul shows us that we lose the benefits of Christ, the scandal of the cross, and the motivation to love when we revert to the law and believe the lie that we can do it all on our own efforts. In some ways freedom is scary, we can find comfort in thinking that our faith is based on works, but Jesus is desiring us to know in deep ways that our faith is based solely by believing in the Gospel and accepting Christ as our Savior. Jesus saved us by grace alone, despite our flaws and shortcomings, He loves us deeply. We would be foolish to go back to the law and abandon a gracious Gospel and loving Father. Listen to the latest message, Gospel Freedom, to learn more on how you can stand firm in the freedom of the Gospel and abandon the law.
Today, we are continuing in our Good News series, revealing the goodness of the Gospel. In Christ we get to experience the truest form of freedom, eternal joy in Him. We are promised of this truth, within His word are several points and promises from Christ that reveal His ultimate desire—to save and free us from the law and burden of sin. In the depths of your souls, maybe you felt a stirring, or deep longing for something more, to be freed. When we enter in relationship with Jesus and put our trust in His Gospel, we get to step into the freedom He promises. Jesus states that we are children of the promise and free in Christ. The law before Christ brought slavery, but the Gospel brings freedom, and we should stand firm in that freedom. We can't muster this freedom on our own, it's a gift given through Christ alone. Join us in the newest message of the series, The Gospel is Not Self-Effort and walk in the true freedom of Christ, that frees our souls and satisfies our hearts.
This week we continue in our series, Good News, studying the Gospel and how it shapes our lives. As we seek after Christ and are continually molded by Him, we are given three action steps. We are to remember our former bondage—where we were before Christ, return to our former zeal, and receive Christ's formative work. When we allow ourselves to be formed by the Gospel, we experience the freedom that can only come when we are in Christ. Our Savior renews us each day, as we surrender ourselves to His work and give Him the space to shape and form us. Join us this week in the newest message of the Good News series, Gospel Formation, and walk in the freedom of the Gospel of Christ.
Today, we are continuing our series, Good News, looking at the truth and hope of the Gospel. We'll ask the question; how do we experience the blessings of God? In Galatians, we see how Paul desires the church of Galatia to not believe in a false gospel, he urges them to believe in the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. God's blessing comes by faith alone in Christ alone. In obedience to Christ, we must surrender our efforts and trust in Jesus, He has won, and we can have hope in Him. Paul asked direct questions to the church in this passage that allowed them to think through how they were experiencing the blessings of God in their lives. We can ask ourselves those same questions today. Tune in to the latest message of the series, The Gospel of Blessing, and be bold in acknowledging the state of your heart.
As we dive into another week of our Good News message series, we will see this week that the Gospel alone is all we need. Paul writes in his letter to Galatia that he has been crucified with Christ, stating that Christ lives in him, no longer did he allow his flesh to lead him. As fellow believers in Jesus, this truth is the same for us. When we came to know Christ Jesus, we surrendered our lives to Him, from there our lives are transformed by faith in God. In this chapter, we see that nothing but the Gospel is needed. The Gospel is our source of freedom, ministry, and justification. We have access to lean on Jesus at any moment. The Gospel is rich in hope for a weary world. Join us in the newest message of the series, The Gospel Plus Nothing Else, we pray a fire is stirred in your heart to be a minister of the Good News of Jesus.
Last week we kicked off our fall sermon series, Good News, looking at the goodness within the Gospel and how it impacts us. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is revelation that transforms, this change is from the inside out. When we receive salvation in Christ, we are brought to repentance because the Gospel reveals our sin and urges us to turn away from it. Jesus takes us on a journey to remove sin and shame and instill faith, hope, and courage in Him. The Gospel reveals Christ and our destiny. Placing our faith and hope in Christ gives us the promise of spending eternity with Him. Tune in to the latest sermon of the series, The Transforming Gospel, and open your hearts to how Christ wants to change you.
This fall we are beginning a new series titled, Good News, where we will turn to the book of Galatians to uncover the truth and goodness of the Gospel. This Sunday, we will discover how the gospel is unique. The gospel immerses itself into every aspect of our lives. Our God is personal, He desires to work and speak to us in specific and intentional ways. The Gospel provides hope to remind us that there is redemption for the evil of this world. The source of the Gospel, the heart of the Gospel, and the exclusivity of the Gospel are unique. Join us in the first sermon of the series, No Other Gospel, and be challenged as we are reminded of the hope that can only be found in Christ.
Our Metamorphosis series has been focused on transforming our minds to align with Christ, this week we will discuss anger and learn how we can reframe our mindset on how we handle anger. James 1:19 states we should be “quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” As we choose to deal with our anger lovingly, we should seek wisdom from scripture because Godly wisdom produces peace among people. When seeking wisdom from God's word we will see that Godly wisdom brings peace and Godly wisdom takes action, while worldly wisdom produces chaos. In our pursuit to deal with our anger in ways that glorify God, let us seek out scripture and wisdom from above. Join us in the latest sermon of the series and be challenged to change how you respond and act on your anger.
This week in our Metamorphosis series, we looked at adversity and found out how we can look at adversity as opportunity rather than a hindrance. In Philippians, Paul writes about his imprisonment due to sharing the Gospel, Paul is an example of how adversity can cause us to grow in Christ. Paul even exclaims, “for me to live is Christ, to die is gain.” We have an opportunity to bring the Gospel everywhere, we should not be ashamed of it, for Christ dwells in us if we have placed our trust in Him alone. Embracing adversity requires us to know that endurance inspires faith, we should rejoice in Gospel proclamation and recognize that adversity is a win-win. Join us in the latest sermon of the series, Embracing Adversity, and be encouraged to rejoice in your difficulties because when we are weak then we are strong.
As we continue in our Metamorphosis series, this week we will address the issue of apathy. Our succumbing to apathy can go unnoticed, not realizing we have fallen into this frame of mind. So how do we get out of that mindset? We must be transformed by the word of God. An urgency to spread the gospel defeats apathy. We are to follow the ways of scripture and devote ourselves to love, show hospitality, and serve with diligence. Join us in the latest sermon of the series and be challenged to defeat the apathetic tendencies we fall into, to gain an urgency to share the gospel with a waiting world.
In our message series, Metamorphosis, we are talking about transforming our minds with the word of God. Today, we will hear how our ambitions are welcomed in Christ, but we must submit them to God in an act of obedience to Him. Jesus had ambition, a ton of it. His ambitions were submitted to God, and He led them out with fervor—being the atonement for all. We have the chance to align our dreams and ambitions, just as Jesus did with God. When we submit them to God, He will exceed our expectations and align our desire with the desires of His own. We must put off worldly ambition and put on godly ambition. Listen further to the latest sermon of the series, as we learn what it means to see how God's work changes our ambition.
As we continue in our message series, Metamorphosis, we will talk about the hold that anxiety has made are many today. Anxiety can feel inescapable and suffocating. We may lose hope of ever feeling free from its chains, but we will see that there is hope. What was once anxiety can be turned into peace, by the grace and power of God. Through praying with gratitude, meditating on what is good, and living out God's word, we can experience our anxieties turning into peace. Join us in the latest sermon of the series and be encouraged to fight anxiety with hope and gratitude.
We are beginning a new series called, Metamorphosis, where we will look at scripture passages that will guide us to transforming our minds to the work of Christ. When God saves us from our corrupt ways, our response should be a life of worship to Him. He extends mercy to us because of His immense love for His creation. Our response to this mercy looks like committing your body to the Lord, rejecting the world's thinking, and receiving a new mind. How will you respond to the mercy He has shown you? Join us in the first message of this series, Metamorphosis, and allow God to transform your mind.

We are in our second week of our series, Reach Where There Is No Church, preaching on the topic and importance of spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Christians are called to bring the Gospel to the world, we can read our direct calling in Scripture. We are a part of the body of Christ, we have brothers and sisters who are all on the same mission with us, thankfully we don't have to do it alone. Our mission is to reach, to reach until all have heard. We can do this together as a body of Christ by discipling one another in mission. We can have courage to spread the Gospel because we are empowered by Christ. Join us in the latest sermon of the series, Until All Have Heard, and be encouraged to share the Gospel.
We are beginning a two-week sermon series labeled, Reach: Where There is No Church, discussing the necessity to bring the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. Maybe you've asked the question, “How do we live out the Gospel to reach the world?” It can seem daunting to look out to a world in darkness and try to reach all who are lost, thank God that we are not alone in our journey; we have a family who are all a part of this commission. As believers, we should aim to live with a faith and longing to go, recognize the power for all who believe, and live unashamed of the Gospel. Join us in the first sermon of the series, Power of the Gospel, and walk in boldness as you proclaim the good news.
Happy Memorial Day weekend, church family! As you reflect on this day may you remember those who lost their lives fighting for our freedoms, that we hold today. Join us in a sermon on Generosity, Elder Preston Zale. We hope this week's message blesses you and pushes you to know Christ deeper.
As we wrap up our What God Says About series, it is necessary that we look at what God says about femininity, especially on a day that celebrates the wonderful mothers in our lives. God's word is clear that it values women, and their role in the church, in families, and in the world. Proverbs 31 is one of the most highly quoted scriptures that points to the value and need for women. We see three important points from this chapter on how to honor the women in our lives. We should acknowledge her value, affirm her work, and applaud her character. Godly women are an essential part of the world, the church, and the home. Join us in the final sermon of the series, What God Says About Femininity.
