TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for June 4th, day 156 in our journey through the Scriptures. Join Speaker A, your brother and Bible reading coach, as we spend time together in God's Word—today reading from Proverbs 28 and 29, Psalm 60, and Romans 16. In this episode, we'll reflect on the theme of God's strength made perfect in our weakness, the wisdom found in Proverbs, and Paul's encouragement to the church in Rome to embrace unity and remain faithful. We'll close with prayer, an invitation to rest in Christ's presence, and a reminder that you are deeply loved. Let's open our hearts and direct our focus to the One who gives life, hope, and peace. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He gives you strength for today. Do you need some good news? Here it is—you can be strong. God's people are being offered strength through Christ. At the end of Romans 16, we're told that all glory goes to the God who is able to make you strong. That's the message for the church, for Jews and Gentiles alike: there's strength for you, right now, in whatever situation you face. God's strength isn't confined to your best days—it's made perfect in your weakness. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 12, described how he repeatedly asked God to take away his weakness, the "thorn in the flesh." God's answer to him was clear: "My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness." That is good news, because, like Paul, there are days when we just don't feel strong. Paul learned, over time, that he could actually boast in his weakness. Why? Because it was then—precisely when he didn't have it all together—that God's strength showed up most clearly. That's when he learned to rest in God. In those moments, he discovered a life that wasn't driven by striving, but by abiding. It wasn't about achieving, but about receiving. So, are you feeling weak, weary, or emptied out by the burdens of the day? Christ's abiding presence offers you real strength, right now. Take it by faith. Moment by moment, call on him, walk with him, and lean into his strength. Don't try to conjure it up on your own—just rest, abide, and let his power carry you. God is with you in whatever you're facing. He wants to meet you right there in your weakness. He wants to do something important in you and through you. You can be strong today—because Christ is in you. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that is a prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Torn between their obligations to Caesar and the imperial cult on one hand, and to the Jewish law and culture on the other, Paul uses this letter to give the most careful, nuanced, beautiful, and practical exposition of the Gospel that the world has ever heard. It truly is the greatest, saddest, most exhilarating and dangerous letter ever written!#Gospel #Justification #Jews #Gentiles #Wrath #Grace #Jesus #Church
This week, Pastor Wes walks us through Romans 16:17–20 & 25–27, encouraging believers to stay grounded in the truth of God's Word and be aware of teachings that pull people away from the gospel. As we celebrated Graduate Sunday, we were reminded of the importance of building our lives on the foundation of Christ and remaining faithful in every season of life. Paul reminds the church to stand firm, remain wise in what is good, and trust that God is ultimately victorious over evil. The passage closes with a beautiful reminder that the gospel reveals God's plan to bring glory to Himself through Jesus Christ.Text: Romans 16:17–20 & 25–27 Recorded: May 17, 2026

Pastor Marshall Ochs | April 19, 2026In this message, Pastor Marshall teaches from Romans 16. In this chapter, Paul concludes the Epistle to the Romans by highlighting ordinary men and women whom God used in meaningful ways, showing that the gospel is lived out through real people and everyday faithfulness. Paul the Apostle both celebrates these faithful servants and warns against those who serve themselves rather than Christ, emphasizing the need for discernment guided by the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the chapter resolves this tension by pointing everyone—strong and weak, faithful and selfish alike—back to worshiping Jesus, trusting Him to build His kingdom in His way and timing.

Pastor Rick spoke from Romans 9, 10 and 11 where the Apostle Paul talked about election and man's responsibility. Paul embraced both God's sovereignty and human responsibility, without sacrificing one to tidy up the other, because both are true. He lived with the tension. The old saying “Pray as if everything depends on God; work as if everything depends on you” accurately reflects the way Paul thought and lived. Pastor Rick preached at the CrossPoint Church.
Romans 16:1-16 “The Family of God at Work”
When you're new to Christ, not everyone in your life will celebrate the change. In those moments, it's natural to look for new people to walk alongside you, as you grow in your faith. But sometimes you might choose companions simply because they're available, not because they'll hold you accountable to God's Word. That's why today, Pastor Richard urges you to pray for godly friendships and trust that God will bring the right people into your life.
Today we will be wrapping up our lengthy study in Romans. As the apostle Paul put the finishing touches on this magnificent epistle, he made mention of some faithful friends who were with him in the trenches! Not much is said of them, just a simple but powerful word or sentence. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
As we look at the final verses of chapter sixteen, we find Paul doing something he often did - he warns his readers about the dangers that lay before them, he acknowledges a few of his friends, and then he gives glory and honor to our wonderful savior, Jesus Christ. Resurrection Power for Real People (Romans 16:1-27)
I think you would agree that this nation hasn't been this divided since maybe the civil war! And it's not hard to see the damage that's left behind. People no longer talking to each other, church splits, divorce, and on and on I could go. How does God feel about it, how can we avoid it? Let's look into it today on Sound Doctrine as pastor Jeff Johnson nears the completion of his study in Romans. We're in chapter sixteen today with a message titled, “Final Warning with Promise”. Last time you may recall we were in Romans chapter sixteen and discovered Paul was no lone ranger! He knew and served with a lot of people, many of which were women. And one of the great benefits of fellowship is the friendships that develop. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
Many denominations today accept women as pastors, and that has caused a great amount of animosity in Christian circles. So now more than ever we need to hear God's truth about Women in Ministry. That's what we find in Romans chapter sixteen! Women have an absolutely vital role to play in the church, just as men do, but the roles are different. Pastor Robin wraps up our study in the book of Romans, challenging us with one question: are you a Palm Sunday believer or a Romans 16 believer?
Daily Dose of Hope March 26, 2026 Scripture: Romans 16 Prayer: Holy God, We start by praising your name. You are a good God, a mighty God, and a wise God. Work in our lives. Speak to us. We need you, Lord. Over and over again, we need you. In these next few moments of silence, Lord, hear our prayers...In Your Name, Amen. Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope Church daily Bible reading plan. We are working our way through Paul's New Testament letters, in chronological order. Today, we are finishing the book of Romans and tomorrow we begin the book of Ephesians. Our reading for today is Romans 16. The final chapter of Romans has this beautiful section of greetings to the people that Paul has worked with and encountered in his ministry. I love how this was obviously a letter for regular people. This was not a letter intended for religious scholars. Rather, Paul sent it to people he cared about in an effort to help them in their own lives and ministries. Another interesting note is that out of twenty-six people who are listed as special workers in ministry, nine are women. This is especially impressive because Rome was a male-dominated society and women had little, if any, social and legal standing. But in the church, things were different. There is also a variety when it comes to the names: some of Jewish, some are Latin, and many are Greek. While I'm sure the early church had its issues, it appears to be a diverse mix of men and women, from different cultural and religious backgrounds. Essentially, it was a great picture of the Kingdom of God. God's Kingdom is universal, with people from all races, cultures, and stations in life. In God's Kingdom, men and women serve alongside each other. It's a place in which every single human life has value and no one is better than another. God's values are actively at work: love, justice, mercy, righteousness, hope, and freedom for the oppressed. Somewhere in the history of the church, it got off track. The church became less Kingdom-focused and more about growing the institution. It began to resemble the culture around it. Certain people were excluded, corruption crept in, sin invaded. It's hard to read a church history text because it seems so far from the church Paul was trying to establish. Paul also warns his dear friends about avoiding division and those who seek to create it. He actually says to stay away from people who create conflict in the church. Wow. That's handy guidance. Be aware, be vigilant, listen to the Holy Spirit, and don't be deceived by the evil one. As much as the church has gone through, we know that the powers of Satan and the powers of men cannot defeat it. I think of Jesus' words in Matthew 16 when he tells Peter that it's on that rock, his confession of Jesus' Lordship, that Jesus will build his church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. The church has and will prevail, despite all our brokenness and sin. God's mercies are new every single day! As a church, we can pray and strive to be a better picture of God's Kingdom. In fact, my on-going prayer for New Hope is that we will become a multiplying congregation-multicultural, multiracial, and multigenerational. I pray that we will be the kind of place where people from all walks of life find a place of belonging, a place to be nurtured and loved. I hope you will join me in this prayer. Blessings, Pastor Vicki
Romans 16 may look like closing credits, but it is full of gospel power. In this final message from our Romans series, we see how God works through faithful people, why unity in the church matters, and how our confidence must rest in the God who is able to keep us. This is a timely, practical word on relationships, discernment, and worship.
The reality is, there is an enemy who is actively seeking to steal, kill, and destroy. We need not fear, for victory is secure in Jesus. But we do need to watch out for those who would divide and obstruct our pursuit of Jesus.
In concluding his letter to the Romans, Paul gives a series of greetings to those in the churches in Rome. This letter is more than just information. But it is sharing the way of Jesus WITH one another.
