In Romans 1:8-15 we find a window into the “Great Gospel Expectations” that Paul has planned for the church in Rome. He is thankful yet not satisfied. He is prayerful, yet not idle. These verses call us to think, pray, and labor for the strengthening of Christ's body, so that the church may become all the Lord has called her to be.
Daily Dose of Hope March 5, 2026 Scripture: Romans 1 Prayer: Almighty God, Thank you for a new day and a new chance to give you glory and praise. You are an amazing God. How incredible it is that you, who created everything, know my name. You know every hair on my head. While I am so grateful for your love and care, it is sometimes difficult for me to adequately wrap my brain around your expansive love and mercy. Help me be a better reflection of you, Lord. Help me see others through your eyes. Help me be merciful, kind, and good. Lord, I know I fall short. So often. But I want to do better. In these next few moments of silence, Jesus, hear my prayer... In Your Name, Amen. Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope Church daily Bible reading plan. We are currently journeying through Paul's letters. We just finished our fourth letter (2 Corinthians) and today we are beginning Romans. Today's reading is Romans 1. Romans is probably one of the most impactful books of the Bible. Much of our Christian doctrine is rooted in this book. My own experience in Romans is that sometimes I need to read a chapter more than once to understand its meaning. Don't be discouraged if that is the case for you too. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your reading and reveal what God wants you to know in each chapter. Romans is written in the form a letter. Paul starts by identifying himself: he is a servant of Christ, an apostle, and one who is set apart for the Gospel. He is writing to a church in Rome that he did not establish and has not yet visited. He wants to be clear from the beginning who he is and what he believes. He is clear that the purpose of his writing is Jesus. Really, it's all about Jesus Christ, and we will see that theme woven throughout the entirety of Romans. It's certainly a good reminder for us–it is simply all about Jesus. We get quite distracted but Jesus is what matters. In the middle of the chapter, Paul is clear about his purpose - sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Take a look at some of the statements that Paul makes: -I am obligated to both Greeks and non-Greeks, to those who are wise and foolish. -I am eager to preach the Gospel to those in Rome. -I am not ashamed of the Gospel. Paul knows who and whose he is and that defines every other aspect of his life. He is a person sent to share the Good News to all people, he is looking forward to preaching Jesus to the people of Rome, and he is totally unashamed, unembarrassed, and ready to be a minister of the Gospel. What are your thoughts about this? We live in a time and culture in which people are hesitant to share their faith, worried about people's reactions, and content to just leave things be. Paul was anything but content. He felt obligated, eager, and totally unashamed! Spend some time in prayer asking God to speak to you, specifically what God wants you to learn from Paul and our new study of Romans. Ask God to open your heart and mind to new concepts and challenges. Blessings, Pastor Vicki

Romans 1:25-32 | Serious Consequences by Enfield & Strathfield Anglican Church
The Apostle Paul repeats the word peace eleven times in the letter to the Roman church, and never once is it used in a random or tertiary way. Rather, there is a logical flow to how he wants us to understand the comprehensive peace that is meant to mark the life of every believer, and the order of how it is used is vital.
Romans is perhaps the most comprehensive explanation of the Christian faith ever written. From the opening verses, we learn that it is primarily about the Gospel—what Jesus has done for us. This week, we will introduce this inexhaustible topic, why it is needed, and how it powerfully shapes our lives.

The Book of Romans unveils the heart of the gospel and the power of God to save. As Paul explains justification, grace, faith, and life in the Spirit, believers are reminded that righteousness comes through Christ alone. Romans strengthens our foundation in truth and challenges us to live transformed lives marked by obedience, surrender, and wholehearted worship. In Romans 1, Paul exposes the root issue beneath sin: not just bad behavior, but dishonor. Humanity did not simply disobey — we exchanged. We traded the glory of the Creator for created things. And when God loses His rightful weight in our lives, something else always takes His place. In this message, Phil Martinez explores what it truly means to honor God. Biblically, honor carries the idea of weight — to treat God as significant, essential, and first. When we treat Him as light, optional, or secondary, our thinking becomes distorted and our hearts grow dark. But when we restore His rightful place, everything changes. This sermon is both a mirror and an invitation. Where has God become optional? What carries the most weight in your decisions — His Word, your feelings, culture, success, comfort? Honor begins in humility. It shows up in worship, obedience, generosity, suffering, and everyday life.God is not looking for perfect people — He is looking for surrendered hearts.Today is an opportunity to reverse the exchange. To give God back the weight He deserves. To honor Him not just with our lips, but with our lives.Passage: Romans 1:18–25
In this week's message, Pastor Lawrence digs into Romans 1:18-32 to show us that the best news ever actually starts with some bad news. God — the Great Physician — has given us a clear diagnosis: our world is sick, and we are the cause. But understanding what's wrong is the first step to receiving what's right. This episode explores the wrath of God (and why it's actually a sign of His goodness), two forms of truth suppression, what it means when "God gave them up," and why the gospel is truly good news for every kind of sinner — regardless of background, struggle, or story.
No matter where you are in life, thriving or struggling, addicted to drugs or religion, too confident in yourself or not confident enough in who Jesus has made you to be… The Gospel makes you new. In fact, here is what the depths of the Gospel give us as a New Humanity… 1. A New Footing with God - “We are Justified”2. A New Family with God - “We are Adopted”3. A New Future with God - “We are Empowered”Becoming new through faith is a beautiful thing, but in the first three chapters of Romans, Paul describes the broken state of “Old Humanity.” Old Humanity does not live justified, but condemned, does not value family but radical individualism, and does not have a future with God but only focuses on the here and now. Paul makes a case to not live like the Romans do. He writes this letter to help believers live in Rome without becoming “of Rome.” I believe as he writes to them, he is writing to us, to help us live in the world but not become “of the world.”This week we unpacked this in a message called, “Rome: A Home Away From Home.”Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).Connect to Captivate! - https://shorturl.at/nKxQuDownload the Captivate App to Stay Connected! - https://shorturl.at/5PfXPIf you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? February 22, 2026 - Romans 1: 18-32 by Grace Church of Mentor
The gospel is only good news to those who know the bad news. In this passage, Paul unpacks the bad news that sinful insubordination leads to idolatry, which bears the ugly fruit of immorality revealing a kind of insanity culminating in all kinds of insurrection. This very bad news characterises human history. But like a diamond placed on a dark background, this very bad news reveals why Paul is not ashamed of the very good news of the gospel.
Paul is emphasizing the need for faith in a savior, rather than trusting in an unattainable man-made law.Copyright Disclaimer: All media in this production is used by permission & under copyright by its owners: shiftworship.com, epidemicsound.com, CCLI 20811957 / CVLI 20811964, Artlist.io. The Righteousness of God Romans 1:1-17 Christ Church Kingwood February 15, 2026 Preacher: Patrick Wimberly
The emphasis of the part of Romans 1:7 we are studying is seen first in who is it that has called us to be saints, namely God himself. But second, it is a summons for God's people to live different from the world they live in.
What is the gospel — and why does it still matter? In this week's message, Pastor Lawrence opens a powerful new series through the book of Romans, beginning in Romans 1:1-17. Romans 1:18-32. Pastor Satchel Burton continues teaching through the book of Romans.
In vv. 1–7, Paul emphasises his faithful gospel stewardship, a stewardship that protects the gospel. Verses 8–15 emphasise his desire for fruitful gospel partnership as a means to propagates the gospel. And in vv. 16–17 he explains his gospel confidence for proclaiming the gospel. We will study these profound verses under three headings: 1. Gospel Pride (v. 16a) 2. Gospel Power (v. 16b) 3. Gospel Provision (v. 17)

Rev. Brian Habig
In Romans 1:6-7 we find a trio of beautiful truths that help us understand who we are and whose we are as the people of God. Following his personal introduction and familiarizing his readers to the substance of his letter, Paul now turns to addresses his audience. He writes to all those in Rome, but more specifically to, “A People Called and Loved.”
Pastor Christian taught from Romans that the gospel brings unity by leveling everyone—Jew and Gentile alike—reminding us that all have sinned, all need grace, and no one stands above another in God's family. Following Jesus means loving like He loved—choosing forgiveness, humility, and community—because the gospel produces real love and unity, making us one family in Christ. Listen and be challenged.
