Shaina’s own professional journey inspired her desire to help others struggling to find their own career path. After graduating with a degree in education and working a few good jobs in her field, she realized that she needed to find something better suited for her. After years of research and training with a mentor, Shaina discovered career coaching. She found that it was not only a good fit for her skills and interests but also for her lifestyle. Having children to care for made working from home was a necessity. Shaina stresses that when deciding on a career it is just as important to consider life and external obligations as it is to think about skills, interests, and personality. Deciding on a career is a difficult task made more so by the fact that the skills and life of an eighteen-year-old will be wildly different from those of a thirty-year-old. Shaina believes that people should receive career-focused guidance and assistance at multiple points in their careers rather than only viewing it as a one-time requirement.
