WE ARE BACK IN EPHESIANS! Enjoy this exposition on how to live a humble life before God. While often times the world may perceive the virtue of humility as a weakness, we as Christians know that Jesus embraced a humble posture all the way to the cross, the greatest show of strength in all of human history.
Ephesians Series – 06 – Ephesians 2:11-22 – Sam Barnes
This Sunday Pastor Chris continues the theme of "Submitted Relationships" started last week by Pastor Dana. This sermon continues to highlight the beauty of relationships that are within the covenantal bounds instituted by God, Pastor Chris also adds historical context to the people Saint Paul would have been writing to in his time, referencing how revolutionary his teaching breathed out by the Spirit truly is. Let your marriages, friendships, families, jobs etc. be opened to the grace of God and reach new depths through reciprocated submission in Christ. God be with you all!
In this sermon Pastor Dana concludes Ephesians 5 as she reflects on her upcoming 30 year anniversary with Pastor Chris! She delivered a powerful message of what it means to have relationships (of all kinds) submitted to Christ. Sometimes messages like these are so profound that they can be encompassed in one verse "Submit to one another out of reverence to Christ" (Ephesians 5:21)
The Ephesians series continues! In this message, Pastor Chris shares some concluding thoughts on what it truly means to walk worthy before God. Earlier in the series, he highlighted how Paul the Apostle, in his Epistle to the Ephesians, first lays a strong foundation by describing the incredible gifts that have been given to believers. After establishing these truths, Paul shifts the focus to how Christians should live in response to those gifts.Because of what has been provided to us through the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are called to live in a way that reflects that grace. Pastor Chris emphasizes that our relationships should be marked by a self-sacrificial mindset, as we seek to imitate the character of the one true God.May we be people who not only hear these words but also delight in them and live them out.Blessed are those who hear and receive them!
Another Sunday, another message in Ephesians! This week, Pastor Chris continues unpacking chapter 4, drawing powerful parallels to the Old Testament priestly garments described in Exodus. He explains how what was once a physical reality under the old covenant now carries a deep spiritual meaning in the new covenant.Referencing 1 Peter, where the apostle Peter calls believers “priests,” Pastor Chris highlights that just as Old Testament priests were recognized by the garments they wore, we are now to be recognized by the character and conduct we display. Our “attire” is no longer fabric, but faithfulness. The way we treat our husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, and fellow believers should reflect a distinctly priestlymanner of living. After all, we are described as:“a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9, NKJV).As you go into this week, take time to ponder this question from Pastor Chris:Do you intentionally wash yourself with the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures?
Paul contrasts “walking in love” and “being imitators of God” with darkness, unfruitfulness and drunkenness. Believers are called to encourage one another along the journey, and the means of that encouragement is a bit surprising if you think about it. | Ephesians | Series: the epistle to the Ephesians
In light of Pastor Chris' absence this Sunday, as he ministers on the West Coast, we received the message from Pastor Dave Shanosk. Pastor Dave builds upon the ongoing theme of walking worthy in Christ, the spiritual gifts received by believers, and the call to put on the new man. All who have accepted Christ are now set apart to live a consecrated and holy life for God — abandoning the ways of their old life and embracing the fruitfulness of the new life they have been given. As Pastor Dave powerfully reminded us, "we must resist the temptation to look like the world to gain its approval."
During this passage of scripture, Paul emphasizes practical changes. He speaks on separation from God, urges believers to abandon their former way of life, and tells believers to walk and love like Jesus. | Ephesians | Series: the epistle to the Ephesians

After learning how to walk worthy in the previous two weeks, we now pivot to spiritual gifts and how they are distributed throughout the body of Christ (his church). In this sermon Pastor Chris goes over the 5-fold gifts given to the church- Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd, and Teacher, and how these gifts all contribute to the maturity of the body by edifying in love to one another. Give glory to God who from the Exodus all the way to the cross, has poured out his spirit and has decided to function amongst his people for the salvation of the world.

This Sunday we stay in Ephesians 4 where Pastor Chris builds off of Pastor Dana's message from the previous week. The primary passage focused on in this message is Ephesians 4: 1-7; where Pastor Chris highlights the redeeming power of the Gospel brining in life and light to all the nations, therefore with that in mind we should be 'walking out' the faith in accordance with what Christ has given us through his sacrifice on the cross. We should examine all of ourselves for the signs of maturity which come flow forth forth from the body of Christ (his church.
Paul stretches the bounds of language so his readers can begin to understand just how much bigger God's grace is compared to their own expectations. He invites us into a faith that transcends human capacity. | Ephesians | Series: the epistle to the Ephesians
After last weeks pre-recorded messages with guest minister Samuel Whitefield and Pastor Chris, we are back in the book of Ephesians. Pastor Dana camps out in chapter 4 of the book, where Paul lays out the riches (spiritually) which are gifted to those in Christ, showing us how by receiving these riches we should now "walk out" our faith, that by unity with both the Holy Spirit and the body of Christ (The Church), we can love others as God has loved us and bring the grace and mercy of God to the world.

In this masterful passage, Paul drives home the idea that the Jews and Gentiles are both equal participants in God’s plan of salvation. Not only does he challenge Gentiles to step up to the role of being God’s people, but he also challenges the Jews from the Scriptures to shift their perspective on Gentiles coming | Ephesians | Series: the epistle to the Ephesians
ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT FOR THE XXI DAY FAST! a wonderful milestone that is going to be shared with the WOL family, as we set our sights on this final week. Pray for endurance to finish the race strongly and to end the fast illuminated by the presence of Christ in a deeper way than when you began it.This Sunday Pastor Chris continues the Ephesians series by hopping right in to chapter 3 of the book. Paul in this chapter lays out the glory of the church of Christ, one where heaven and earth have been reconciled, and one where generations of saints (a cloud of witnesses) cheer us on to finish the race. This communal element of the church is done by design so that we may know God more deeply and be stretched so that our love may increase in him—"There are depths of God's love that you will never know apart from gathering with Christ-followers who are different from you," Pastor Chris. Do not be afraid to encounter those depths.
The devil prowls as we continue our study of the Book of Ephesians. The Grace of God will prevail for faithful believers as we travel with the Apostle Paul through versus 1-10 of chapter 2. | Ephesians | Series: the epistle to the Ephesians
In this sermon Pastor Chris stays in Ephesians 3, where Paul reveals the mystery of God's plan: that the Gentiles are now fellow heirs of Christ through the Gospel. He emphasizes God's grace in entrusting him with this revelation and calls us to understand the immeasurable richness of God's mercy. This sermon explores how God's unifying love breaks barriers and invites all people into His eternal purpose.
WOL ushers in the New Year with an essential message, offering an opportunity to equip everyone with a renewed outlook for their lives in 2026. Pastor Chris continues the Ephesians series by delivering a message centered on repentance, the free gift of grace, and the works of God that become evident in the life of a believer who embraces that gift. We are reminded that it is not our own efforts that grant us salvation, but God working through us that produces good works—“not saved by works, but saved for works.” Let 2026 reveal clear evidence of the fruit God has brought forth in your life.
