One of our Creation Moments listeners has written to ask how evolutionists explain the development of male and female. The problem is, if a mutation produced the first male, it isn't likely that another mutation would have produced the first female at the same time and in the same neighborhood. The writer further pointed out that studies now show that with the current genetic errors we all carry within us, one male and one female would not be enough to establish a new population of male and female creatures. The question is important. Evolutionists have admitted that their theory does not have a satisfactory explanation for how male and female could have developed. One evolutionist even noted that because evolutionists have no credible explanation, most textbooks simply ignore the question as obvious as it is.But evolutionists also point out that the problems in explaining the origins of male and female are even greater than those I've already mentioned. They now admit that their studies show that if creatures progress by evolution, creatures that reproduce sexually would be at a disadvantage. Even worse, sexual reproduction is, as one evolutionist put it, designed to weed out the very genetic variations that supposedly cause evolution! It is difficult to understand, then, how anyone could say that evolution offers a better explanation of life than the Bible's creation account.Genesis 6:19"And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female."Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You that in Your wisdom You have made us male and female, and that You have done so in a way which confounds man's rebellious wisdom. Help this fact be a witness to Your glory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.Ref: Kathleen McAuliffe, “Why we have sex,” OMNI. Sermon on Genesis 1:26-28, where we are taught that God created mankind male and female.
God Sees Jesus Followers as “In Christ”: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” MESSAGE SUMMARY: As Followers of Jesus, we are "In Christ" -- God looks at us and sees Jesus in us. Throughout the Epistles we find: "In Christ" or "In Him". In Galatians 3:14, Paul tells us that our faith in Jesus makes us “In Christ” and recipients of God's Covenant with Abraham: “so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.". Also, Paul goes even further, in Galatians 3:25-28, to tell us that, through our faith in Jesus, we no longer need any kind of intermediary because we are “In Christ” and we have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe: “But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.”. The benefit our position "In Christ", as Christians, is that when God looks at us, He sees Jesus, the Son; therefore, He then sees us as His sons and daughters. TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Romans 3:21-26; Romans 6:5-11; Romans 6:22-23; Psalms 77a:1-10. This week on The Backyard Naturalists, Debbie Foster, Laurie Horne, and Chris take a playful trip through the animal kingdom with a trivia-style episode all about the names for male and female animals. Some are familiar — like a buck and doe, bull and cow, or stallion and mare — while others are far less obvious, including cob and pen for swans, jack and jill for opossums, and even cock and hen for lobsters. Along the way, the conversation wanders in true Backyard Naturalists fashion, from international listeners in places like Vietnam, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Zambia to jellyfish at the Tampa aquarium, a "passel of possums," and whether anyone could ever win a Jeopardy category devoted entirely to Young Sheldon, Tombstone, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? It's a lighthearted, funny, and surprisingly educational episode that proves nature vocabulary can be just as wild as the animals themselves. In this episode, you'll hear about: Animal-name trivia for ants, bears, coyotes, deer, donkeys, elephants, foxes, goats, geese, horses, jellyfish, lobsters, mallards, opossums, pigs, seahorses, squirrels, swans, tigers, and zebras The difference between familiar terms like boar and sow, drake and hen, and billy and nanny Why some animals share naming patterns across species A few surprising terms, including vixen, cob, pen, sea mare, and sea stallion A fun detour into group names, including a passel of possums The podcast's growing international audience and a warm invitation to visit Backyard Birds in Matthews, North Carolina Whether you already know your ganders from your geese or you're just here for the laughs, this episode is a fun reminder that the natural world is full of curious details hiding in plain sight.

Has there always been only two genders? Or have there been societies, including in the Western world, where additional genders were recognized? A recent study by Matteo Winkler shows that many cultures throughout history, including Western cultures, did not necessarily conceive of sex and gender as binary. This comes at a time when an Italian court dismissed a case demanding the recognition of one of its citizens as non-binary, saying that in the Italian legal system there is no sex or gender beyond male and female. What happens when a society rejects God's design for manhood, womanhood, marriage, and the family? Hosts Scott Brown and Jason Dohm sit down with pastor and author Michael Clary to tackle this crisis as they discuss the creation order — God's purposeful design for men and women and the far-reaching implications of rejecting it. From the opening chapters of Genesis to the modern confusion surrounding gender, sexuality, marriage, and the body itself, they explain how abandoning God's order leads to chaos — and how joyful submission to His design leads to beauty, harmony, and human flourishing.

Sermon by Ant Frederick on January 18, 2026. Key scripture: Genesis 1:26-28 & 2:18-22 In the West, there seems to be endless discussion about men and women. What do those words mean? Do they matter? Is their distinction even important? All the while, men and women are struggling. Men are not doing well, women are not doing well, and marriages are not doing well either. And we often don't know how to talk about why. At times, we lack the clarity to see that some of our biggest problems go all the way to our God-given, gendered design. There is a lot of deep confusion, and the topic of gender differentiation is often incredibly contentious. But what if it doesn't have to be? What if a better understanding of our God-given design sheds light on many of our problems? God's Word extends an invitation to find our joy in God's good design for our gender. The Biblical foundation of two genders made with fundamental equality AND unique wiring, skills, and responsibilities is both more in line with reality and more helpful for human flourishing, healthy marriages, and an overall healthy society.

Our world is so confused about what it means to be male or female. Some speak as if men and women are interchangeable, and others as if we're totally different species.
