About the Show: “The culture of BBQ is one of Service and Comfort. Eating here is like you are eating in my backyard.” Jordan Wright, Wrights Barbecue On this episode of the podcast, we sit down with Jordan Wright from Wrights Barbecue in Johnson, AR. Jordan is a perfect example of opportunity meeting your passion. Learn how Jordan parlayed a job at Tyson, a church dinner, and a Food Truck to new heights. If you’ve ever been to Wrights Barbecue on any day of the week, they are open (Tue-Sat), you’ve probably stood on a long line as the aroma of barbecue permeates the air. Jordan walks us through his entrepreneurial journey and how so many other Pitmasters like Aaron Franklin from Franklins BBQ in Austin, and Esau Ramos from 2M Smokehouse, and others were kind enough to give him information, feedback, and encouragement as he got his establishment off the ground. Listening to this podcast is definitely inspirational but you will not fully understand the journey that Jordan took until you come down to Wright’s and experienced it for yourself. As an added bonus, mention that you heard the podcast and Jordan will give you a FREE drink with your meal - Limited Time (Expires 7/31/19) Important Links: Open Tuesday thru Saturday 11 AM - 9 PM or until the meat runs out... 479-313-8618 Website WrightsBarbecue Email Catering@WrightsBarbecue.com Instagram @WrightsBarbecue Twitter @WrightsBarbecue This episode is sponsored by: Email info@iamnorthwestarkansas.com to learn more about sponsorship opportunities. This week, we discuss steve's cocktail bar adventure, the willingness to wait, and bathroom blackouts. Our main topic this week? Waiting. Waiting for an experience, waiting through an experience, and what's worth the wait. Also we stumble onto a new bathroom topic! If you're brave enough to handle it - you too can visit Hop Sing Laundromat (https://www.yelp.com/biz/hop-sing-laundromat-philadelphia) and marvel as Steve did. Franklin's BBQ (https://www.yelp.com/biz/franklin-barbecue-austin) in Austin is where JP went. Local worth-the-wait breakfast at Kitchen (https://www.yelp.com/biz/kitchen-providence) And if Steve's tummy troubles don't dissuade you and you're in philly... Jim's Steaks (https://www.yelp.com/biz/jims-steaks-philadelphia-6) Spoiler: None this week. Except maybe spoiling the mystery of Hop Sing Laundromat.
Hey, it's the Comedy and Food podcast. This week David and Andy tell you about some great places to eat that they have discovered while on the road performing comedy. This week Andy was at Goodnight's Comedy Club in Raleigh, NC (his home club) and an owner of several Dickey's Barbecue Pit's brought in some delicious BBQ for Jimmie "JJ" Walker and Andy and the staff. Then David escaped the state of Texas and went to Salt Lake City, Utah where he ate a delicious meal that was also an awesome deal at Hook & Ladder Co Fire Station No. 13. It sounded so good! And as if that wasn't enough, he hit up Nonna's Pizzeria. They provided an incredible Italian meal for yet another deal. The Tobey boys claim that it was Too Much Cheese! But we all know that's BLASPHEMY! There is more talk of possibly making it to Franklin's BBQ in Austin, TX, twice voted best BBQ in America and right near David, yet he's never been. We have fun making these. Hope you enjoy listening!
