Episode 543 - Kymberly Kaslar - Faith Heal Love - Embarking on a Trip to Find HealingFulton Books author Kymberly Kaslar, who resides in Northern California, where she enjoys car events, traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and her two cats, Bastet and Bishop, has completed her most recent book, “Faith Heal Love”: a stirring tale that centers around one woman's expedition to Ireland, Italy, and Sweden in order to find the spiritual and emotional healing she requires after suffering at the hands of an abuser, then a cheating husband and losing everything precious to her in the world.Originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas, author Kymberly Kaslar has called Northern California home for thirty-two years. She has been a civil servant to the state of California for over twenty-five years, but writing has always been her passion. She hopes her stories of surviving grief and abuse would help others find faith in God and in themselves. She has always been a car enthusiast, thanks to her mom and her love of Ford and Italian cars. After her mother's passing in 2012, she formed Dreams and Drivers Inc. to incorporate her love of cars around bringing awareness to pancreatic cancer with monthly car and coffee events and car shows.“How many times can a person survive having the rug jerked out from under themselves?” writes Kaslar. “Teagan became a widow at thirty-five, then became the victim of an abusive sociopathic manipulator who destroyed the young widow physically, emotionally, and financially. After years of abuse, she is finally free of Alex and is happily married and enjoying life and upcoming retirement with Jake. Then like a bad dream, Teagan gets her world turned upside down for the third time.“In a fifteen-year span, she loses her husband, gets involved with a serial abuser, loses a child, loses her mother to pancreatic cancer, gets married, and then he turns out to be a lying, cheating, lazy narcissist!“How could God let this happen to her? What signs did she miss? How the hell could this happen again?“Realizing that God removed Jake at the right time and protected her, she took a different ‘healing' approach. With the coaxing of her newly divorced friend Valo who had returned to Sweden, she decided to make this forced new chapter about having the faith to take care of herself by any means possible and lean into her faith for more guidance so she could heal and check her baggage, let go of all the past, and find the blessings that these tribulations have given her. Teagan realized that regardless of the pain and suffering, she was alive and needed to learn how to enjoy life. First up, she embarked on a divorce vacation to Ireland, Italy, and Sweden. Lastly, Teagan hoped to learn to love again and be loved.”Published by Fulton Books, Kymberly Kaslar's book is a poignant story filled with painful, gut-wrenching lessons, loss, tears, self-reflection, healing, forgiveness, romance, and finding real love. Candid and emotionally stirring, Kaslar shares her story with the hope of helping survivors of grief and abuse find faith in God and in themselves once more.https://www.pr.com/press-release/929557Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

In 2012, six years after 21-year-old college student Nina Ingram was strangled at her apartment in Fayetteville, there was an arrest and a man named Rico Cohn was charged with Nina’s murder. But after a key witness died suddenly, the criminal case against Rico was dismissed. His legal team filed a CIVIL LAWSUIT against the Fayetteville Police Department, suing several officers who worked on his case as well employees as the Arkansas State Crime Lab. They alleged that the case against Rico Cohn was weak, basically nonexistent - that there was no physical evidence against Rico Cohn and that the witness, Randee Applewhite, told them that she was NOT at all sure that Rico had committed the crime. Eventually, the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed. And the ENTIRE case against Rico Cohn was sealed by a judge. Now as we said last week the lawsuit is obviously only one side of the story. But there are a lot of details in the civil lawsuit about investigations that were done by Rico’s attorneys for both the civil and criminal lawsuits - and about leads that the Fayetteville Police Department allegedly failed to follow up on. One of them was a person described as Person of Interest B - who, from reading through the events of the case file, appeared to match the description of Jarvis Allan Harper, a man who worked with Nina Ingram at the Sixth Street Walmart at the time she was murdered. So we went back and tried to figure out how did Jarvis's name first come to the attention of the Fayetteville Police Department and if there were other leads that should have been investigated. What else did the police miss?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to the Leading Edge in Emotionally Focused Therapy, hosted by Drs. James Hawkins, Ph.D., LPC, and Ryan Rana, Ph.D., LMFT, LPC—Renowned ICEEFT Therapists, Supervisors, and Trainers. We're thrilled to have you with us. We believe this podcast, a valuable resource, will empower you to push the boundaries in your work, helping individuals and couples connect more deeply with themselves and each other. Overview and Themes: This podcast episode is the finale of the "Resistant Client Series," focusing on how therapists can transform client resistance into opportunities for deeper emotional connection and healing. Main Themes: 1. Understanding Resistance as Protective Behavior - Resistance isn't a problem to eliminate, but a weight-bearing mechanism protecting relationship dynamics - Every resistant stance has an attachment significance - Clients aren't being difficult; they're managing deep emotional fears 2. Theory of Change in EFT - Replace resistance with corrective emotional experiences - Help clients make clear emotional signals - Enable partners to provide compassionate comfort - Support clients in truly receiving and embodying that comfort 3. Clinical Wisdom - Don't lose hope with challenging clients - Trust the attachment map - Be intentional about vulnerability in therapeutic interventions - Focus on helping clients understand their own emotional experiences Closing Summary: In the intricate dance of human connection, resistance is not an obstacle, but a doorway. Each defensive stance whispers a profound story of fear, longing, and the desperate hope to be truly seen and loved. As therapists, our sacred work is not to dismantle these protective walls, but to gently illuminate the tender heart beating behind them. We are architects of hope, helping couples rediscover the language of vulnerability, transforming cycles of pain into rhythms of connection. Every moment of resistance carries within it the seed of healing - waiting to be understood, honored, and transformed. Keep pushing the leading edge. Keep believing in love's remarkable capacity to heal. Upcoming events, if you would like to train with James or Ryan… You can do a joint Core Skills (Colorado) with Lisa J. Sometime after ten pm on April 21, 2006, 21-year-old college student Nina Ingram was brutally murdered inside her apartment in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The cause of death was ligature strangulation, and The Arkansas State Crime lab ruled the death a homicide. Despite the fact that detectives interviewed dozens of Nina’s friends, coworkers and her significant other, they had no viable suspects for years. The Fayetteville Police Department considered this a cold case, their only unsolved one at the time since the 1970s. But then in 2012 they arrested and charged 26-year-old Rico Tavarous Cohn with Nina’s murder. But the case against Rico Cohn was not as solid as it appeared to be on the surface. He spent over three years behind bars, and then, the case against him was dismissed. Three years later in 2018, Rico filed a civil lawsuit against the Fayetteville Police Department detectives and employees at the Arkansas State Crime Lab who he alleged violated his civil rights. This lawsuit claimed that there were several people of interest who police interviewed who were potential suspects...suspects that the lawsuit alleges were overlooked. The person who murdered Nina has never been found. This person is still out there. Could the answers to finding Nina’s killer be there and is this person still out there? Wernes shares the incredible story of how a random encounter at a Christian sports camp in Branson led to an offer from legendary coach Dave Van Horn — a moment he credits as divine intervention. He opens up about the misery of junior college baseball, nearly quitting the sport altogether, and how perseverance reshaped his future. The conversation dives into his transition from standout third baseman for the Hogs (2014–2015) to minor league pro, and eventually to a coaching role that now has him manning third base once again — this time from the coach's box. Wernes also discusses the intensity of coaching at Arkansas, the quirks of sending runners home, and the overwhelming pride he feels working under Van Horn.

What happens when rejection becomes the catalyst for something extraordinary? In this revealing episode of All Things Skin, the tables are turned as Dr. Missy Clifton shares her remarkable journey from being fired from her first dermatology position to founding Premier Dermatology—now a cornerstone of innovative skincare in Northwest Arkansas. With raw honesty, Dr. Clifton reveals the fear and uncertainty she faced when starting her own practice after being told she would fail. "I was absolutely terrified," she admits, describing sleepless nights and the immense pressure of supporting the team who took a chance by following her. This vulnerability transforms into a powerful narrative about perseverance, showcasing how that initial rejection sparked a twenty-year journey of growth and innovation that continues to evolve. The conversation delves deep into the entrepreneurial mindset that drives medical innovation, with Dr. Clifton crediting her business acumen to watching her parents run their own companies. "My mom wanted to build something incredible as her legacy," she explains, contrasting this with her father's more lifestyle-focused approach to business ownership. These dual influences shaped her balanced perspective on building Premier Dermatology while maintaining boundaries that previous generations of entrepreneurs often lacked. Most fascinating is Dr. Clifton's evolution into integrative health and preventative medicine—a path she pursued after experiencing her own health challenges and witnessing gaps in patient care. Her passionate advocacy for looking at the "whole person" rather than just treating symptoms reflects a progressive approach that's transforming how we think about skincare and wellness. "Your skin is a representation of what's going on inside your body," she emphasizes, highlighting the interconnected nature of health that drives her practice philosophy today. Ready to be inspired? Listen now to discover how one doctor's unwillingness to accept limitations created a healthcare legacy that continues to push boundaries and redefine what's possible in dermatology and beyond.Let's Connect! * Instagram https://www.instagram.com/premierderm/* Facebook https://www.facebook.com/premierdermatology* Website: https://premierderm.netPremier Dermatology is located in Bentonville, Fayetteville, & Bella Vista, Arkansas!

Sometime after 10 p.m. on April 21, 2006, 21-year-old college student Nina Ingram was brutally murdered inside her apartment in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It became big news, at the time it was one of only two unsolved murder cases in Fayetteville since the 1970s. Police interviewed Nina’s neighbors, her boyfriend, her friends and family but failed to identify a single suspect. Her case went cold. Until six years later in 2012 when a 26-year-old man named Rico Tavarous Cohn was arrested and charged with Nina’s murder. Go to soccerdownhere.net and click Listen, then select your match or bounce back and forth.Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse.PSG has made their second Champions League final, defeating Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate, 2-1 yesterday in Paris. Luis Enrique has been the best manager in the world this season and he has remade this team in his image and achieved incredible success. They have to go through the 3-time champions Inter to lift the trophy, and remarkably, it's the first time these teams have ever met in official competition. The goalkeepers have been stars in the semifinals. Yann Sommer made a couple of mind-blowing saves on Lamine Yamal of Barcelona, Gianluigi Donnarumma turned into Superman as soon as he saw the English flag again and also stood on his head to lead PSG. I disagree with Mikel Arteta when he says that Arsenal were the better team in the competition, but I do think he's getting unfairly dragged in the media. He took a team without a healthy #9 as far as he could this season. They have to get that position right to compete with the best in England and in Europe. He's one of the best managers in the world today, give him the right squad to truly give him a chance to win a major trophy, I don't think he's had that yet and has done as much as he could.MLS won 15 of the 16 Round of 32 matches in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup over the past two days. The Pittsburgh Riverhounds needed a stoppage time goal to upset NYCFC to keep it from being a clean sweep. Philadelphia needed penalties to get past Indy Eleven, multiple games needed extra time, Austin was 2-0 down at home to El Paso but stormed back to win 3-2. Good news on the business front for MLS as well, their sponsorship revenues are up double digits in 2025 compared to the same timeframe in 2024. 5 clubs were named in Sportico's Most Valuable Soccer Clubs in the World's Top 20, with 19 clubs making the Top 50, the most of any league in the world. While revenues aren't matching the top European clubs at the moment, security of the format along with top-notch infrastructure and ownership collaboration and cooperation have given MLS clubs a strong floor from which to grow their valuations. Arsene Wenger made the news yesterday, saying that his proposed change to the offside rule is imminent. Based on the way these rules have been altered in the past, that's not true. The trials of the new rule (essentially going from if any part of the body is offside then it's an infraction to if any part of the body is onside then it's good, giving the attacker a body length) have not been successful and more are needed to see if this gives the attack too much of an advantage. I do believe that the rule needs to be tweaked in light of video replay being used, but more testing is needed rather than something rash. Plenty more in the video and podcast editions of the Espresso, please check them out. More to come tomorrow morning on the SDH Network.
