Remember the late '90s mystery show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction? where you had to figure out which stories were true and which were fake? For this episode I tell the wild life story of the mysterious man who provided the "true" stories which were certainly beyond belief. I'm joined by wonder-siblings Will Rogers (our voice actor!) and Kristen Rogers-Anderson of Guide to the Unknown, a podcast that explores urban legends, the paranormal, horror movies, haunted places, and creepy pop culture. We take a trip down memory lane to discuss this cheesy gem which was also an early inspiration for what would one day become American Hysteria. "Who do you think you're fooling? You're so scared I can smell it. Your fear is the most predictable thing about you. You've lived your whole life in fear. Terrified of making a mistake, scared to death you won't get that A, that ticket out. Afraid you'll never escape your mother and her name tag. Or your father who won't return your calls.”Kevin Williamson is known for movies like SCREAM and THE FACULTY, but today we're giving him his flowers for his solo directorial feature, TEACHING MRS. TINGLE. The Wives are joined by Kristen Rogers Anderson of the Guide to the Unknown podcast to talk about the maniacal power of Dame Helen Mirren, the sweetness of Katie Holmes, the undeniable talent of Marisa Coughlan's EXORCIST imitation, and uhhhh Barry Watson's really good hair. This is one of the most underappreciated teen films from the golden year of 1999, and we're here to figure out why.--------Become a Patron! www.patreon.com/thisendsatprom---------Follow Kristen on Twitter & IG: @chillinkristenListen to Guide to the Unknown: https://www.gttupod.com/---------Find the Show on Twitter & Instagram: @ThisEndsAtPromBJ Colangelo —Twitter & Instagram: @BJColangeloHarmony Colangelo — Twitter & Instagram: @Veloci_trap_tor----------Logo Design: Haley Doodles @HaleyDoodleDoTheme Song: The Sonder Bombs 'Title': https://thesonderbombs.bandcamp.com/
After TMZ reported that Britney Spears had been checked into treatment for mental health issues in April, concerns were raised about the state of her conservatorship, the legal agreement that gives her father a great deal of power over her affairs. A conspiracy theory under the hashtag #freebritney, started by the pop culture podcast Britney’s Gram, has spurred actual protests as the news of the state of Britney Spears continues to be updated daily. Kristen Rogers Anderson wants to help people feel good by entertaining them and inspiring "me too!" moments. She's the co-host of the Book Club Schmook Club podcast and her true crime YouTube show, Guilty Party, launches this month. Kristen recently wrote an article about the positive sides of grief that she unexpectedly experienced after her family suffered a horrible tragedy. We talked about dealing with death, the importance of allowing yourself to grieve - and what that means, and how this experience helped her grow as a person. We also riffed on our love of bullet journaling, Kristen's journey with personal development, and the routines she's developed to take care of herself.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Kristen Rogers-Anderson has always had an interest in the world of the supernatural, and she's decided she'd like to conduct an investigation. Aided reluctantly by her friends Will & Bobby, Kristen goes looking for trouble. And trouble finds her. What started as a fun examination of the paranormal quickly turns into a dark investigation of a serial killing that might be a demonic ritual. It's TalkBomb's Halloween Special!
