This week Ash opens up about something he’s NEVER told anyone and it all stems from this week’s breaking news about testicular pain. It’s got to be heard to be believed! Meanwhile, Matt is getting an early start on the spring clean, trying to offload furniture he’s shocked no one wants to buy… or even take for free. He’s also in the trenches helping the girls with their homework, putting their public-speaking skills to the test. Plus Ash has a hack to give your glow-in-the-dark ooshies a glow-up and something Oscar does in his sleep makes him think he might actually be a good dad after all. And more parenting lies to keep in your back pocket for the week ahead. ______________________________________________________________________________ You can grab a copy of Ash's new book The Secret Ingredient here. Once the authorities were involved, they turned their attention to Ian's ex, Michelle Hadley, who had sent Ian strange emails in the wake of their breakup. But following an insane turn of events, including fake cancer, wrongful imprisonment, and abuse of power, the question remained: Who was Lilith?HungryRoot: Breakfast, lunch, or dinner in 15 minutes or less with https://hungryroot.com/milehigher. A quiet night at a Texas woman's home was abruptly interrupted by an ambush in her own household. By the time law enforcement found Reagan Simmons-Hancock deceased, her attacker was long gone. In that same time window, police in another area conducted a traffic stop on a woman who had a newborn in her arms, claiming she was rushing to a hospital. It wasn't long before law enforcement connected the dots between the incidents. Get the full story on this episode of Female Criminals with Elizabeth Millner, presented by Law&Crime. Summer is here - we enter the long days and sultry nights with the garden looking glorious - but always looking to the horizon for a little bit of rain to keep things looking green and lush. Herbaceous borders are set to maximum colour, vegetable beds seem to multiply in growth weekly and the gardener's tan is ever present. So enjoy the long summer days, take some time to appreciate time in your garden and join the Talking Heads pair as they continue to look after their planty spaces, as well as enjoying their gardens at home.We give a long overdue shoutout to our wonderful listeners in this episode - and in doing so discuss raptors, buddleja aphids, petrichor (Lucy is NOT jealous...), chilli peppers, fuchsia gall mites and tropical tree selection in a Lancashire garden - in doing so we inadvertently fill the whole 30 minutes when we actually had planned to also discuss summer gardening 'funk' (which we have now moved to next weeks episode). If this isn't evidence that this podcasting duo are the king and queen of hortiwaffle, I don't know what is!Instagram links:Lucy lucychamberlaingardensSaul plantsmansaulIntro and Outro music from https://filmmusic.io"Fireflies and Stardust" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)Support the show

Following the tick report where we learn, in the words of a CDC scientist, that “the ticks are winning,” we discuss a new study finding wildfire smoke is now the primary pollutant negatively affecting pregnancy. Climate change, including increased heat, extended drought, and a thirsty atmosphere, has been a key driver in increasing the risk and extent of wildfires and the spike in tick borne illnesses. In a rather surprising development, former disgraced New York City mayor Erick Adams shows up to central Wisconsin to shill for data centers, and is booed by local residents. Whose brilliant idea was it to hire the corrupt Adams as a pitchman for Big Tech's AI binge? Investing in public education and phasing out the private voucher school program jumped onto center stage in the governor's race this week. Francesca Hong's commitment to wind down the voucher program which is draining resources from our public schools made headlines in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The newspaper also reports that Hong was the only candidate who agreed to discuss school funding plans in detail with reporters. Kudos to Hong for demonstrating her commitment to be open and honest with the public about her plans for the largest item in the state budget. We discuss the public debate in the 3rd Congressional District on if it is appropriate for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (the political arm of the House Democrats) to intervene in the primary elections on behalf of Rebecca Cooke, raising concerns of closed door decisions that disempower voters. Robert discusses parallel concerns about Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee and Senate Democratic Campaign Committee interventions in Assembly District 21 and Senate District 17 races. We also react to news that Tom Tiffany raised $4 million of his $5 million cash on hand from three billionaires. We close with a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel investigation finding half of ICE flights conducted by Appleton-based Air Wisconsin are using Milwaukee Mitchell as its hub. Also, Robert tells us if it matters that two federal court decisions block the Trump Regime from rescinding billions in climate change grants. We urge our listeners in the Milwaukee area to attend our $20 Minimum Wage Town Hall, Wednesday, August 19th, 6pm.

This is a spoiler-filled review and discussion of Super (2010), directed by James Gunn and starring Rainn Wilson and Elliot Page, covering the film's violence, its most divisive scene, and what it means that its director now runs DC Studios. Before James Gunn was directing Superman, he wrote and directed Super (2010) — and it's way darker than you remember. Wow! This is a fun interview. As a matter of fact, we had so much fun that we're going to do it again because we barely broke the surface of the band's rise to fame. Bones tells great stories of gigging around the metro Detroit area. How did Jimmie get started, and what influenced his love of music? "Well, way, way, way, way back, man, long before you were born, I saw this band on the Ed Sullivan show debut, and they were called the Beatles. And I kind of, I think I was maybe five years old. And I can't say it blew my wig back, because my mom used to shave my head back then, like this really 60s brush cut. But it kind of, yeah, did that to me, you know. And then later on, I saw the Rolling Stones on there and a lot of the other British invasion bands. So that had an impact on me."That was just the beginning. From there, Bones told me about his path through the Detroit ranks to meeting Kid Rock. The White Room Studios is where their paths crossed, and they've been bandmates ever since. That's the extremely short version; listen for the full version of events. As I said, there's too much to post here. This is a fun listen down the musical Detroit rabbit hole. This week, Mitch dives right into a chaotic sequel to last week's episode, pitching a dystopian game show where you gamble your actual lifespan for wishes. Then, we take it a step further and imagine a world where McDonald's runs a lethal survival show. Naturally, all this dark talk reminds us of our own glory days and a brutal Cap'n Crunch eating contest that absolutely destroyed the roofs of our mouths. We also get into some fascinating science and cultural deep dives, unpacking how neuroplasticity proves our brains are way more resilient than our high school health teachers claimed. We question whether the government is intentionally fueling the Gen X vs. Millennial feud to keep us from teaming up against the system, and look at how the new Little House on the Prairie remake is casually exposing massive historical corporate corruption. Finally, we wrap things up with a look at California politics and Gavin Newsom's move to return coastal land to local tribes for a major casino and tourism boost.
Episode Summary Same-sex attraction can become an intensely lonely battle, especially when shame and fear keep a struggling believer from seeking help. In this concluding episode of the Twisted Passions series, Ryan Swanson shares three listener testimonies that point to dependence on Christ, honest accountability, wise boundaries, and a willingness to let God use a redeemed story. The episode challenges both those seeking victory and those who want to help them: condemnation alone is not enough, pride must give way to humility, and God often provides the right people to help us walk faithfully. Topics Discussed Why Christians must do more than simply preach against homosexuality Biblical identity and the way sin twists desires and emotions Turning to Christ instead of trying to overcome temptation through willpower Confiding in mature, trustworthy believers and seeking accountability Breaking the lonely cycle of pride through humility Choosing wise boundaries instead of making provision for temptation The value of godly mentorship, biblical masculinity, and biblical femininity Moving from fear and shame to a willingness to share Christ's work Using personal testimony to help others pursue victory A forthcoming series on less-discussed biblical passages about purity Key Takeaways Jesus understands temptation and remains the believer's unfailing source of strength. God often uses mature mentors, faithful friends, and accountability partners to help us walk in victory. Humility opens the door to help, while pride keeps spiritual battles hidden and isolated. Wise relationships and prudent boundaries both have a place in resisting temptation. A testimony should magnify what Christ has done rather than keep us imprisoned by shame. Victory is bigger than personal relief; God can use a surrendered life to strengthen others in the same fight. Among the many black marks against Todd Blanche becoming Attorney General, there is perhaps no blacker and darker mark than his mistreatment of the Epstein Survivors, along with his lead role in covering up a child sex trafficking ring whose leaders are connected to his “client” Trump. Popok explains that 99.9% of the Epstein Survivors have never been interviewed by the DOJ or the FBI to tell their truth and provide their evidence, as the public's attention is diverted to stare at the pile of produced and unproduced Epstein files. And it all came to a head during Blanche's confirmation hearing as he was forced to confront some of the Survivors and melted under the lights. Popok reports on how the FBI and DOJ should be forced to set up interviews with the survivors and pursue justice on their behalf in criminal investigations. Ever thought about betting five years of your life for a guaranteed wish? Mitch kicks off the episode with a wild game show pitch where an AI knows your death date, you wager your remaining years, and a creepy comedian hosts the whole twisted mess. From there, the conversation goes off the rails in the best way possible. We chat about California's weirdly split weather before taking a deep dive into the early, experimental days of Pink Floyd (including the ridiculous inside joke about a band member's obsession with marmalade). We also track the ultimate Hollywood glow-up: James Cameron. Find out how he survived directing the absolute disaster that was Piranha II: The Spawning—complete with out-of-focus footage—to give us masterpieces like The Terminator and Aliens. But it's not all fun and movies. Things take a dark, conspiratorial turn as we break down Oscar-winner Roger Avary's intense claims about deep-state occult rituals in Hollywood. Finally, we look at the legendary Christian thriller This Present Darkness. It has been stuck in development hell for decades, but we discuss how modern AI and a Lord of the Rings style multi-part series might finally bring its epic spiritual warfare to life.

What if beauty was never supposed to be something you had to earn? So many women reach midlife carrying the same message they were handed for years: Lose the weight, do your hair, wear the makeup, change your body, and then maybe you'll feel beautiful. Maybe you'll feel confident. Maybe you'll finally feel like you are enough. In this episode, we're talking about what happened when Maria was invited to speak at a women's beauty and self-love event, only to realize that another speaker was planning to frame weight loss as a path to self-love. And instead of staying quiet, saying yes, and ignoring the discomfort, Maria asked the question that changed the whole conversation: what message do you actually want women to leave with? We get into what it means to speak up when a message does not align with your values, why beauty and body value get tied together so easily, and how powerful it can be to name the contradiction when self-love is being sold through appearance pressure, plus: Why Maria almost turned down the event and what made her speak up instead How beauty culture and diet culture can work together to make women question their value Why losing weight should never be framed as the reason someone becomes worthy, lovable, or confident Why you do not have to educate everyone, but you can choose to plant a seed when someone seems reachable Why speaking up can create a ripple effect, especially when the person listening has influence in her own community What it looks like to redefine beauty beyond the mirror and build self-love that is not based on appearance If you've ever struggled with body comments, beauty standards, or the pressure to change yourself before you're allowed to feel good, this episode is your reminder that you are allowed to question the message and choose something more aligned.
