We are back with a bang. It's good to be back with a new season of Ireland's number 1 zero judgement parenting podcast. We hope everyone had a good summer and managed to both enjoy and survive their kids. As always you can get in touch with us anytime. Simply email honeyyouareruiningourkid@gmail.com. Question 1- How do we cope with outside voices commenting on our parenting? When a relative doesn't respect your approach and interferes to the point of it being detrimental to your child, what can you do? Is there any way of getting them to understand and respect your method of parenting or do you need to arm the child with the tools to know which voice they need to pay attention to? Question 2- You wake up one day and your four year old no longer seems to be the child they were. Suddenly she is throwing tantrums, being oppositional. Nothing is easy any more and you feel completely wiped. Is there a way back? How can you stop and restart? Is there something else causing these new behaviours or is this just a phase that will pass?Question 3- Moving schools for whatever reason always takes its toll. How do you manage the fall out? How do you guide your child through it and help them feel settled? How do you manage your own emotions during this impactful change on your little person's life? What is the right and wrong way to navigate this?Thank you for listening in to another episode of Honey! You Are Ruining Our Kid. We will be back in 2 weeks with another episode. In the meantime, email your questions into honeyyouareruiningourkid@gmail.com. Visit www.jigser.com/gigs for tour dates and to pre-order Jarlath's book.

Do you struggle with emotional upsets? Are you self-conscious, or chronically shy? Are you missing out on all the good weenie roasts? If you don't want your friends to think you are a “drip” then put those ear buds in and check out our latest episode featuring our in depth discussion on Coronet Films. These films were extremely popular and common tools in public school classrooms from the 1940s all the way up to the 1980s. With production based in Chicago, the films were extremely homogeneous and saturated with Midwest sensibilities. While Coronet was not the only company producing educational social guidance films, they are probably the most widely known. It is easy to criticize these films for their lack of diversity, sexism, and obvious whitewashing of the social landscape. However, they did provide some sound fundamental life strategies especially when addressing issues like self-confidence, communication, and interpersonal relationships with friends and family. In this episode we look at all of it —the good, the bad, and the ugly. These films are great to poke fun at, but they are also an important frame of reference to see both how far, or how little we have grown as one American community.May we all buy ranges with “Deep Well Cookers” in the future.

Part 1 of 4 – This one was heavy on the feels, light on the bullshit, diving deep into the shit that matters. We kicked off with a punch to the gut - an emotional video tribute for our baseball team's 20th anniversary, mourning the loss of someone who was like family. We didn't shy away from the tough stuff. Talked about the support we crave when life shits on us, and the unexpected calls that bring back memories you thought you'd buried. We dug into family legacies, sharing stories about ancestors we never met but whose wild-ass traits we've inherited. But hey, we balanced it with some lighter shit - like the beauty of a fucking sunrise, the pride in providing for your kids, and the unbreakable bond of friends. We tackled parenting, the art of talking to your kids without going full dictator, and the economic realities that sometimes make you feel like a failure. This episode? It's raw, real, and packs a punch. If you want something that'll make you laugh, cry, and think, dive deeper than usual into this one.

(summary provided in collaboration with Otter.ai and ChatGPT) The experience of transitioning careers to become a therapist Derek explains his shift from a performer and speech-language pathologist to therapy, motivated by a desire to create supportive, transformative spaces for others. What graduate school can be like for aspiring therapists He details his MSW program structure, designed for working professionals, which includes online courses, in-person classes once a month, and 1,000 hours of fieldwork by graduation. How therapy students can balance academic and personal life Derek shares how his personal circumstances, being single, working in academia, and attending a state university for affordability—helped shape his path. Some challenges and surprises on the path to becoming a therapist He discusses the variability in program lengths (some social work programs are only 1 year, for example), California's unique licensure process for social workers, and the tension between broad social work education and specialized psychotherapy training. How current events and technology are addressed in therapy grad school Derek highlights the integration of national events and teletherapy technology into his program and the importance of addressing these topics with clients and students. Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. Right in time for Halloween Homo Superior co-host Adam Kousarri-Amin joins our host for The Most Depressing After School Special EVER! The Power Pack kids get abducted by the Morlocks and the X-Men have to remember the Morlocks exist and save them. That's right! How to top last week's episode where the Morlocks kidnap an adult? With another episode where they kidnap children! Everyone needs a hobby and this is the Morlocks' so please stop judging them. We review Uncanny X-Men 195 and other important topics covered include: How watching X-Men 97 was like watching Drag Race...but for X-Men Why mourning X-Men 97 is like losing a foreign lover Lodro has a Star Wars name Wolverine loves to smoke cigars and stab little girls...and he's all out of cigars Power Pack loves to hang out in sewers We all know why Manson removed one of his own ribs right? Kitty can be in charge and if Wolverine has to kill a couple Morlocks as a result of her bad leadership it's not the end of the world The many teams of baby soldiers Xavier made us forget If you live in a sewer why are you going to dress your kid in a tube top? Cro Magnons are going to HATE this episode but everyone should give it a listen anyway. Adam Koussari-Amin is co-host of the weekly podcast, Homo Superior, which provides smart analysis and dumb jokes about the latest and greatest of X-Men and MCU content. When he's not running his mouth, you can catch him DJing around Washington, DC, or cuddling on the couch with his partner and his dog watching horror movies and playing video games. The excellent meme-game discussed in this episode can be found here. More of Lodro Rinzler's work can be found here and here and you can follow the podcast on Instagram at xmenpanelsdaily where we post X-Men comic panels...daily. It's September, and that means it's officially "Back to School" season! And we're in the academic spirit, reading and reviewing X-Campus, a four-issue miniseries, from 2010. "As told by some of Europe's greatest comics storytellers," including writer Francesco Artibani, X-Campus re-imagines the X-Men mythos and the origins of the team, re-casting the characters we know and love as the faculty and students of the Worthington Foundation, a special High School for gifted youth. Does this reimagining work? Which characters are best suited to this sort of approach, and which feel out of place cast as modern teenagers? And should Marvel try more "Elseworlds"-style re-tellings of the X-Men mythos? We discuss all this, and more! But first, we look at the recent, controversial public dispute between fired X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo and Disney, offering our take on their war of words and accusations, and where the truth may lie (and, of course, for the second episode in a row, even more stuff about this came out not long after we recorded, so this probably won't be the last of it you'll hear from us, either).
