Whether you're a die-hard Swiftie or just a regular person who's not into her songs, there's no denying the grip that Ms. Taylor Swift has had on American pop culture since her debut in 2006. In her most recent “Eras” tour, which generated roughly $5 Billion USD for the US economy, Taylor Swift walks the audience through her many eras: the hopeless romantic princess in sparkly dresses in “You Belong With Me,” who then fell from her pumpkin carriage and claimed victimhood after Kanye's public humiliation of her in 2009; clapping back at critics and experimenting musically with “Red;” embracing her "girl squad" of famous friends and cementing her spot as a pop culture icon with “1989;” her villainelle era with “Reputation;” and taking quaratining at home to the next level by embracing cottagecore with “Folklore” and “Evermore” during the pandemic. In this episode of CyberPink, we take a look at how different stages of our own lives intersect with Taylor Swift's eras and how we interacted with her – whether it's through passionately listening to her songs on repeat, reciting the lyrics, or simply studying her as a pop culture artifact and what her popularity means from an anthropological perspective. Each Taylor era evokes memories and emotions that allow us to revisit a moment somewhere in the last fifteen years. So join us as we dive deep into her many looks through the years, career-changing award show moments, feuds with other mega stars, and her music – and explore how the themes intricately intertwined with our own growth, and the evolution of what it means to be a modern woman. 03:00 Fearless Era: The girl next door from Nashville and our collective coming-of-age 22:29 On the stage of the 2009 MTV VMAs, the wheels of fate begin to turn for Taylor and Kanye 37:00 Red Era: Pop superstar Taylor as the clever, well-behaved “common denominator” woman 42:40 Taylor vs Spotify: When streaming upheaved the music industry 50:00 The controversial lyrics of “Famous” and America's culture shift around 2016 01:09:00 Reputation Era: Debate over Taylor's master recordings and re-recordings 01:25:05 Midnights Era: Taylor's tenth album, written for all women and herself 【拓展链接 The Links】 我们提到的文章: For Taylor Swift, the Future of Music Is a Love Story Tom Hiddleston on Taylor Swift, Heartbreak, and Great Bolognese Taylor Swift (Acquired's Version) Listening to Taylor Swift in Prison 其他参考的内容: Make the Whole Place Shimmer: America Spends Big for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift Non-Fungible Taylor Swift Scooter Braun Makes $300 Million Deal for Big Machine Records Taylor Swift's Feud With Scooter Braun Spotlights Musicians' Struggles to Own Their Work The unavoidable politics of Taylor Swift Kanye West Addresses Hip-Hop's Homophobia In 2005 Interview | MTV News Can't Shake It Off: How Taylor Swift Became a Nazi Idol Taylor Swift: The Rolling Stone Interview 【疲惫红书 CyberRed】 除了播客以外,疲惫娇娃的几个女的在小红书上开了官方账号,我们会不定期发布【疲惫在读】、【疲惫在看】、【疲惫旅行】、【疲惫Vlog】等等更加轻盈、好玩、实验性质的内容。如果你想知道除了播客以外我们在关注什么,快来小红书评论区和我们互动。 Apart from the podcast, we have set up an official account on Xiaohongshu. Actor and Artist Briannagh D Talks New Music, Career, Creativity and More Despite being 22 years old, New Jersey-born singer/songwriter, actress, and dancer Briannagh Dennehy has spent over a decade imprinting her mark on the music and acting world. At just 10 years old, Briannagh D presented her vocal abilities to ABC News in August of 2012, in which just 10 months later she would go on to perform at the Apollo Theater stage to compete in the Showtime at the Apollo's finalist round. If you thought that performing at music festivals in the U.S. and the U.K. would be impressive enough, Briannagh D took it to the next level with her performance on the stage in the Caribbean at the 2017 St. Kitts Music Festival. The St. Kitts Music Festival has previously had acts such as Chris Brown, Lionel Richie, and Lauryn Hill perform for one of the island's biggest annual summer events. The following year, her single “Feel the Beat” shot to number 1 in over 24 countries on the Tempo Caribbean charts. After collaborating with Cassidy on “That Feeling” in 2019, Briannagh D followed up the success of the song with the music video's premiere on Nickelodeon's music channel “Nick Music.” After this, Briannagh walked the 2019 MTV VMA red carpet and spent the night as a television correspondent, interviewing artists on the red carpet. Her 2020 single "Grateful," amassed over one million views on YouTube. In July of 2021, Briannagh performed in Times Square for Wonderama's Summer Concert Series. From her appearances on Disney Channel's Bizaardvark to NBC's Emmy-award-winning television series “This Is Us,” the IMDb-credited actress has a promising acting future ahead. Briannagh refuses to shy away from the music and acting scene anytime soon. With her 2022 single "Run My Check" (feat. Jadakiss), Briannagh D dominated the music scene earning a #38 spot on the iTunes charts. Briannagh has continued to bring the heat in 2023 with her most recent release, "Elevate." Racking in over 1.6 million views in a viral Instagram reel, international talent group "Ghetto Kids" brought their Ugandan flare to the original "Elevate" choreography. This week Britney Spears released her new memoir, and is the latest celebrity to open up about the trauma of being a young famous woman in the 2000s. Post-MeToo and the Russell Brand allegations, there has been a collective re-evaluation of how stars like Spears, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were treated. So why did we want to see them humiliated? And why did so many of us think it was normal? This podcast was brought to you thanks to the support of readers of The Times and The Sunday Times. We are THRILLED to be talking this week about Mary-Kate and Ashley's appearance at MTV's 2003 Video Music Awards and subsequent Rolling Stone Cover (and never again about Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action). On August 28th 2003, Mary-Kate and Ashley made their second appearance at the MTV VMAs. For anyone who doesn't remember, this was a big year for the VMAs. This was the VMAs that opened with the notorious Britney Spears, Madonna & Christina Aguilera performance, and a tidbit that the history books don't mention is that Mary-Kate and Ashley were also there! They presented best pop video with David Spade, and every joke Chris Rock makes about them is as cringey as you can imagine. We also talk about their red carpet interview with SuChin Pak before the show, who asks them how they feel about Rolling Stone calling them "America's Fantasy," in their iconic cover that was coming out just a week later. In this interview and in the Rolling Stone article, Mary-Kate and Ashley walk the impossible tightrope of posing for a magazine with notoriously sexy covers while denying an awareness of their own sexuality amidst a barrage of reminders that America has started sexualizing them. We do our best to unpack this strange and unsettling time in pop culture history, and buckle up for the rollercoaster that is about to be our coverage of Mary-Kate and Ashley in 2003 & '04. We hope you enjoy this first chapter! You can also watch the video version of this ep by subscribing to our Patreon here. You can watch the full video of the 2003 VMAS here and read their Rolling Stone Article here.Find us on Social Media!Instagram: @theythoughtiwasyouTikTok: @theythoughtiwasyouBecca: @beccarothLani: @laniharmsQuestions/thoughts? As you're probably aware (thanks to your TikTok and Instagram feeds), the MTV VMAs went down yesterday with pretty much everyone who's anyone in the music biz in attendance. There were awards, there were performances, there were surprise reunions of iconic 90s boy bands… but mostly there was just standard award show stuff being captured on stage. But we're more interested in what was happening off stage! On today's show we're going to run you through all the juicy things that happened backstage and in the audience, as well as why the most important award of the night was unexpectedly cut from the broadcast.
