The Edmonton Oilers are officially on the ropes. Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final was a tough one, as the Oilers were dominated from start to finish by the Florida Panthers, falling 5-2 and now trailing the series 3-2. Edmonton came out flat and never recovered — generating just three shots in the first period and going down 2-0 early. Florida suffocated them in every zone, and despite a brief push later in the game, the Oilers just couldn't solve the Panthers' defensive structure.Calvin Pickard got the start in goal after his heroics in Game 4, but his unbeaten run came to an end, allowing 4 goals on 18 shots. Now, the biggest question becomes: who starts Game 6 with the season on the line — Pickard or Skinner? We'll break down everything from Game 5 in our scoring summary, deliver our one big take, and ask the giant question ahead of the Oilers' do-or-die moment. Joining us on today's show is Sportsnet's Louie DeBrusk, giving his thoughts on what went wrong for Edmonton and how they can bounce back in Game 6. The Edmonton Oilers went into Winnipeg on Sunday night and delivered a massive 4-1 win over the league-leading Jets. It was a complete effort from a team that continues to battle through injuries and adversity late in the season. With home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs still in reach, the Oilers showed they're not backing down, even without a fully healthy roster. From the drop of the puck, they took control of the game and never really looked back.Scoring came from all throughout the lineup, with goals from Connor Brown, Corey Perry, Adam Henrique, and Viktor Arvidsson. It was the kind of depth production the Oilers will need in the postseason, and last night proved this group can step up when needed. Connor McDavid continued his torrid pace since returning from injury, playing a key role in the team's offensive success once again. He looked confident and dangerous every time he touched the puck. The win also marked the return of Stuart Skinner, who hadn't started since March 26th against the Dallas Stars. He wasn't overly busy, but he was sharp when called upon, stopping 24 of 25 shots and making a strong case to be the Game 1 starter for the Oilers in the playoffs. With Calvin Pickard playing well in Skinner's absence, the Oilers are now faced with a tough but positive decision in net.On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down last night's huge win with a full scoring summary, their one big take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. They'll also preview tonight's massive showdown against the LA Kings at Rogers Place — a game that has huge implications in the Pacific Division and could be a preview of the first round.Plus, Louie DeBrusk will join the show for his weekly segment to share his thoughts on the Oilers' current injury luck, the team's recent form, and how Jay Woodcroft and his staff might approach the goaltending decision moving forward. The Edmonton Oilers pulled off a gutsy 5-4 win over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night, despite being without Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. With the team missing their two biggest stars, other depth players rose to the occasion, including Adam Henrique, who opened the scoring on the power play, and Jeff Skinner, who continued his hot streak by finding the back of the net once again. In goal, Stuart Skinner held his own, making 27 saves on 31 shots to pick up his 24th win of the season.
