Advent E4 — We're ending our short Advent series with a reflection on love. In the Hebrew Bible, the word “ahavah” involves faithfulness to God and living by his wisdom, but it also means showing practical care to others—especially the vulnerable. Jesus views this love for God and neighbor as the greatest command, and he expands it to be indiscriminate, radical kindness and generosity even toward our enemies. The New Testament authors were so blown away by this kind of love that they adopted an obscure Greek word for love, “agape,” and redefined it to be a self-giving, sacrificial love that Jesus demonstrates in his life, teaching, death, and resurrection. BSJ's Greg Bedard joins CLNS Media's John Zannis as they react to the Patriots 28-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in week 16 on Sunday Night Football. Drake Maye helped lead the Patriots down 11 in the 4th quarter Maye's monster performance helped the Patriots comeback and not only secure a victory for them but clinched them a playoff spot as well. Maye finished the game throwing for 380 Yards and eclipsing the 300 Yard mark for the first time in his career. Maye had 2 Passing TDs in the victory. The leading receiver was Stefon Diggs who seemed to make every big catch the Patriots needed finishing the game with 9 Catches for 138 Yards. Episode 7: The Legacy Run covers January through March 2004 — the stretch where the SmackDown Six philosophy stops being "just" a great TV formula and becomes the backbone of WWE's entire main-event scene. Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, the two workhorses who defined this era between the ropes, finally break through the ceiling and hit the very top of the industry at the exact same time. We start at the 2004 Royal Rumble, a one-match show that actually delivers exactly what WWE needed. Paul Heyman stacks the deck, forces Benoit into the #1 slot, and dares him to fail. Instead, Benoit puts together a marathon performance: 61 minutes, six eliminations, and a finish built around pure will, dragging Big Show over the top rope in a head-and-arm choke that feels earned instead of cute. Along the way we hit all the key beats that made this Rumble feel alive in the building — Orton's elevation through the Foley feud, Goldberg getting robbed by Brock, Big Show as a real "final boss," and the sense that for once, the obvious story actually got the right payoff. From there, we turn to No Way Out 2004, where Eddie Guerrero walks into San Francisco with three weeks of build… and a lifetime of baggage. We walk through how a thrown-together title program becomes a full redemption story: the SmackDown Rumble that sends Eddie to the title shot, the promo duel where Brock mocks his addictions and Eddie weaponizes his own past, and the infamous mariachi "celebration" that starts as comedy and turns into something dead serious. Today that shot is complicated, even haunting, because of what would happen in the years that followed — Eddie's death, Benoit's actions. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' Tuesday's matchup vs. the Penguins, Tristan Jarry vs. Stuart Skinner, Baggedmilk's Trivia, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether everyone is making too big a deal about the Oilers taking on the Penguins for the first time after the Skinner/Jarry trade. Given the magnitude of Friday's trade and the fact that the two teams are playing so quickly, it's easy to understand why the media and fans are so interested, even if we're only talking about a regular season game in mid-December. Changing gears, we looked at Tristan Jarry's Oilers debut against the Maple Leafs and how he was more than adequate despite arriving with the team just over 24 hours earlier. We also walked through some of Stuart Skinner's quotes from this morning after practice, and how it definitely seems like a trade was needed for both sides. Not to be left out, the fellas also spent a few minutes giving Brett Kulak his flowers after being a fantastic Oiler for the four years he was here. Regardless of the situation, Brett Kulak was a wonderful player for the organization and everyone on the podcast was sad to see him go.
