Once again, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time and got to experience the lift off of the first Canadian artist to hit #1 in the USA. Before they became world famous, they were another prairie band trying to get the bosses in Toronto to notice them. I was at CJME and CKCK in Regina, and over one early 60's summer, they spent the hot months playing at beach parties and small halls. One after the other. Then the hits started to roll, and I ended up going to London, UK, with them, to cover the story. Except the story was a bust.  Poorly planned on the London end, they played a couple of tv shows and came home. Then came These Eyes,  American Woman and fame. After the Guess Who split up, another set of musicians decided to take the name and run with it, for 13 years. Legalities carried on for many years, but eventually Randy and Burrton Cummings..the two original guys, got the name back and that's why the upcoming Guess Who Tour is called the " taking it back tour." Taking it back tour dates June 8 – Saddledome Calgary June 10 – Rogers Place, Edmonton Aug 23 PNE Freedom Mobile Arch August 25 Memorial Arena Victoria

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed what comes next for the Edmonton Oilers, Evan Bouchard's Norris Trophy snub, the Leafs winning the NHL Draft Lottery, and much more. The guys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the latest round of drama in the Mike Vrabel and Diana Russini story and how TMZ just released another batch of photos and documents about their affair. Needless to say, the rabbit hole keeps getting deeper by the day, and it's going to be fascinating to see where this story ends up when the dust settles. With the Oilers out of the playoffs, the boys have a bunch more time to think about other things.Changing gears, the conversation turned to a bunch of movie talk. The boys really dove into the weeds on what they're watching these days and which movies can lure them back to rewatching, even if they've seen them a bunch of times. Even though the segment was meant to be only a few minutes, the boys ended up talking about movies and TV for much longer than anyone expected. Even though they acknowledged the segment was going on too long, it ended up running a few more minutes anyway. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with the name rights for Rogers Place could potentially be wrapping up and whether any new companies would work their way in. Chalmers also shared the story of a WHL prospect who went 9th overall in the draft, and how it was such a cool moment for a young man he's known since childhood. Hosted on Acast. It's a Thursday in Edmonton, and while the sun is out, the clouds are still lingering over Rogers Place. The Edmonton Oilers' offseason is in full swing, but the "patient" approach from the front office has the fans—and the fellas—feeling anything but calm. We're diving back into the wreckage of the 2025-26 season to ask the hard questions that management hasn't answered yet.   We quickly got into Morning Announcements to recap all the action from last night in the NHL and NBA.   After the break, we continued the Oilers discussion. Dusty asked the boys and the nasties what's the best reason to keep Bowman as GM? It was tough to find the answer.   To cap off hour one, it's day two of YouTube Trev's trade of the day. And we got Fired Up for Gemco Fireplaces. Today, we gave away some Stingers tickets.

The 2025-26 season has come to a jarring halt, and the post-mortem has officially begun. Dusty and Tommy are back to break down a franchise-altering weekend in Edmonton following the Oilers' shocking first-round exit at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks. With the players and management now officially on the record, the "vibes" in Oil Country have shifted from disappointment to genuine concern.   The Stars Speak Out: Leon Draisaitl didn't hold back, admitting he is "concerned" and that the organization has taken a "big step backwards". We react to his raw honesty and Connor McDavid's labelling of the squad as an "average team with high expectations." Management's Message: While the players sound the alarm, GM Stan Bowman is preaching patience, stating he doesn't envision "massive changes" this summer. We discuss the growing disconnect: Can a team the players call "average" really be fixed with minor tweaks? Coaching Watch: Is Kris Knoblauch officially on the hot seat? After back-to-back Cup Final appearances, the early exit and declining 5-on-5 metrics have many wondering if a change behind the bench is coming. We weigh the pros and cons of moving on from the bench boss. NHL Weekend Recap: The playoffs roll on elsewhere. We recap the Montreal Canadiens' stunning upset over the Lightning and the Minnesota Wild's dispatching of the Stars. Plus, a look at the second-round matchups already underway, including Carolina's early lead over the Flyers. The Road Ahead: With McDavid only having two years remaining on his deal, the clock is ticking. We debate what must happen this offseason to convince the superstars that Edmonton is still the place to win.   The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' Game 5 win, what the boys need to do to push Game 7, the special teams problems, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about most of the Real Life hosts not being in attendance on what is a massive day for the Edmonton Oilers. With the attendance complaints out of the way, Tyler talked about getting into Game 5 after waiting in Ford Hall until right before puck drop. That also led Tyler to talk about how great the vibes were at Rogers Place on Tuesday and how it felt like the fanbase is finally getting into it.Changing gears, the conversation turned to fans who bring their babies to the Moss Pit, and how it seems like a strange choice to bring toddlers out to playoff parties. Given that none of the fellas who started the playoffs have children, it's pretty easy to talk about what parents should and shouldn't do with their kids. Needless to say, the advice may have come from the right place, but the boys were also interested to hear from parents who actually have to deal with these situations. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with beer prices in the Moss Pit and the Fan Park. Given that beers are still $18 each, the boys wondered how kids are affording to be in there every night. Changing gears, the guys looked ahead at Game 6, and specifically, what the Oilers need to do to grab a win on the road and force the series to a 7th and deciding game. Hosted on Acast. Facing elimination and a 3-1 series deficit, the Edmonton Oilers delivered their most complete game of the postseason, defeating the Anaheim Ducks 4-1 to force a Game 6.   Game 5 Dominance: The Oilers came out flying, scoring three goals in the first ten minutes and chasing Lukas Dostal. We dive into the "big moment" that set the tone and why the team finally looked like the juggernaut we saw in the regular season. The Goalie Pivot: Connor Ingram returned to the crease and slammed the door with a 29-save performance (0.967 SV%). Was going back to Ingram the defining move of the series? We discuss the stability he brought back to the lineup after the Game 4 heartbreak. Stepping Up: With their backs against the wall, the stars arrived. Leon Draisaitl potted two goals, while Evan Bouchard fueled the offence with a massive three-assist night. We discuss why this version of the Oilers is so hard to beat—and the frustrating question: Why can't they play like this every night? Ducks Breakdown: Were the young Ducks finally showing some nerves with a chance to close it out? It was a rough night at Rogers Place for the Edmonton Oilers. On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin break down a disappointing 4-0 loss to the Florida Panthers in a game that carried plenty of Stanley Cup Finals rematch storylines. The Oilers came out flat, fell behind 2-0 early, and never found their way back into the game, lacking energy, physicality, and urgency from start to finish. A major issue was the team's tendency to over-pass and settle for perimeter play, making life far too easy for Sergei Bobrovsky, who shut the door and handed Edmonton a frustrating shutout on home ice.The guys will dive into a full game recap and discuss what went wrong, what needs to change, and whether this is just a bump in the road or something more concerning. They'll also take a look at what's trending around the sports world before being joined by Ryder from The Sauce for a little Friday Fun Zone. Later in the show, Ryan Holt checks in with an update from the Bakersfield Condors, highlighting which prospects are making strides, and the episode wraps up with Jack Han offering his thoughts on the Oilers and where the modern NHL game is heading.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin are back with a full recap of a busy weekend for the Edmonton Oilers, who finished the stretch with a 1-0-1 record. The weekend began with a frustrating 3–2 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. Edmonton held a 2–0 lead heading into the third period but couldn't close things out, ultimately surrendering the tying goal and falling in overtime. However, the Oilers bounced back in a big way on Sunday night with a 3–1 win over the Nashville Predators at Rogers Place. Edmonton played one of their stronger defensive games of the season, continuing what looks like a positive trend on the defensive side of the puck. One of the big storylines from the weekend was Matt Savoie making the most of his opportunity on the first line, scoring a goal and continuing to impress in an expanded role. The guys will also discuss a concerning moment from Sunday's game when Leon Draisaitl left in the first period and did not return. Is this something Oilers fans should be worried about heading into the stretch run?Later in the show, NHL insider David Pagnotta joins the guys to talk about the latest rumors around the league and provide any updates regarding Draisaitl's injury status. They'll also dive into another big storyline surrounding the team, as head coach Kris Knoblauch has named Connor Ingram the Oilers' number one goaltender. To wrap things up, Tyler and Liam will go through what's trending around the sports world and hand out their daily betting picks courtesy of Bet365.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed their beefs of the week, life hacks, the NHL Trade deadline, Oilers moves, the Nation HQ snack controversy, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a new order of operations: they started the podcast with their beefs of the week instead of wrapping up the show. Wanye started the segment with a drive-thru complaint after his breakfast order was missing both the egg and milk he requested. Jay followed up with a beef of the week of his own after he got told off in traffic for simply occupying his space.Changing gears, the conversation turned to life hacks the fellas have amassed over the years, and how Wanye has a new parking hack at Rogers Place that he refuses to share. Somehow, the parking discussion led to a discussion about snacks at Nation HQ and how a few staffers are being accused of overindulging in the office fridge. As you'll hear, the mission for the boys is to start capturing greed red-handed and turning it into content. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with the Nation Vacation to Vegas, the Oilers making moves ahead of the trade deadline, what they could potentially do before the buzzer, NHL insiders calling trades before they're done, and whatever other random stories and items they could come up with to fill the time.
