From Matthew Tkachuk talking about the experience of having a chance to win the Stanley Cup at home to Connor McDavid discussing, and disagreeing, with the pressure he's under, this episode covers all the storylines in advance of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Dan and Shawn start by talking about how the Panthers put themselves on the verge of winning their second straight Stanley Cup championship. That leads the conversation to what's at stake in Game 6, the discussion goes to McDavid and if he's under the most pressure right now. Roarke disagrees, because he doesn't think McDavid's legacy will be defined by championships won. Rosen thinks part of his legacy will be defined by winning a Stanley Cup. McDavid weighs in on the pressure too followed by Tkachuk discussing what it will be like to go up against a desperate McDavid in Game 6. They also talk about the Oilers' comeback ability, with Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch discussing the team's resiliency, where it has shown up this postseason and why. Before putting a bow on the Stanley Cup Final talk, Rosen and Roarke talk about Edmonton's goaltending situation, the fact that Knoblauch hasn't yet announced if the Oilers starting goalie in Game 6 will be Stuart Skinner or Calvin Pickard. Finally, they talk about the Olympic announcements that came out Monday, with all 12 competing nations in the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in February announcing the first six players to their rosters. Neither the United States nor Canada named a goalie. Is that a surprise or was it expected? And which underrated national team should we all be watching come February?

Of course, a lot of that work is similar to what Groulx did in the NHL, so he shared some of the foundations and lessons that he developed along the way, and the how working with goalies like Craig Anderson and Carey Price helped cement many of them.In the Parent Segment, presented by Stop It Goaltending U the App, we go over the first 5 of 10 gear tips for goalie parents. Send us a textAs Mercyhurst University makes its ambitious leap into NCAA Division I men's lacrosse, one name to watch between the pipes is sophomore goalie Jaret Jawor.A native of Lockport, Illinois, Jawor played his high school lacrosse at Wheaton Academy, where he developed into a strong and athletic netminder. Now standing at 6-foot-3, Jawor brings size, reach, and a calming presence to the crease—traits that are quickly turning heads in his second collegiate season.Jawor made his college debut in 2024, seeing time in six games as a freshman. He made 21 saves while posting a 6.95 goals-against average and an impressive .618 save percentage, finishing the season with a 1–0 record. His early showings hinted at potential, and in 2025, that potential has started to materialize. This season, Jawor has stepped into a more active role, appearing in five games and making one start. Across 143 minutes of action, he's registered:38 saves36 goals against15.06 GAA.514 save percentage1–1 overall recordBut the numbers only tell part of the story. In NEC conference play, Jawor has stepped up under pressure, delivering a .571 save percentage across two appearances—highlighted by a standout 19-save performance against Robert Morris. Though the Lakers didn't secure the win, Jawor's poise and shot-stopping ability stood out in a hard-fought matchup. The 2025 season is a landmark one for Mercyhurst. After years of dominance at the Division II level, the Lakers have entered the Division I stage with a youthful roster, a new head coach in Trey Keeley, and something to prove. While postseason eligibility will have to wait, performances from players like Jawor have helped Mercyhurst secure key wins—most notably a dominant 22–6 victory over Hampton. As Mercyhurst builds its foundation in Division I, Jaret Jawor is emerging as a core piece of that future. With two years of eligibility left and a growing confidence in the cage, expect Jawor to continue evolving into one of the NEC's top goaltenders.Keep your eye on No. 12—he's just getting started. Enjoy my conversation with future star Jaret Jawor.Support the show

Episode 306 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a great interview with Seattle Kraken prospect Victor Östman after a wild first season of pro hockey. In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Östman discusses his roots and training in the position growing up in Sweden, his continuing evolution in the USHL and then through four years at the University of Maine, and a crazy first full season after turning pro at the end of past season. It included games in the ECHL, AHL and his NHL debut with the Kraken, as well as a goalie fight despite having an EBUG backing him up on the bench and a little known rule that kept him in the game. It's another can't miss interview with a goalie we suspect you'll hear a lot about in the coming years. In the Parent Segment, presented by Stop It Goaltending U the App, we asked listeners if you could pick ONLY 1 thing to work on this summer, would it be: A. Goalie-specific training with a coach (at a camp or 1-on-1), B. Playing Games or C. Skating (power or goalie specific). That sparked a great discussion on the benefits of each, with input from respondents to our question on social media. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, which features Charlie Lindgren breaking down video and discussing the importance of in-zone awareness even when your teammates have the puck, as well as the importance of not widening out as you drift backwards in order to avoid biting on fakes. And in our weekly gear segment, we go to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports to for a deep dive on the new CCM EFLEX 7 pads and gloves that launch in full at retail next week.
