Episode 337 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a pair of Edmonton Oilers prospects with great stories to share: the debut of Connor Ungar and the return of Matt Tomkins. In the feature interview appropriately presented by NHL Sense Arena, we start with Ungar sharing lessons from one of the most unique seasons in recent memory. He has played for three different teams in the ECHL before getting called up to the American Hockey League and somehow posting an 11-1-4 record with a save percentage north of .944 for all four teams, including 6-0-0 with a .955 right now in Bakersfield. And it's all come as an undrafted free agent who spent a season at Brock University (not unlike Logan Thompson) after playing four seasons in the CHL.Speaking of unconventional paths, we also catch up with Tomkins, who went from two seasons in Sweden to his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning before signing with his hometown Oilers this summer, and continues to show he's capable of playing at the highest level all while openly sharing lessons learned along the way. That includes offseason time with osteopath James Wendland, whose popular training tips have been featured regularly at InGoal Magazine. In the Parent Segment, presented by Stop it Goaltending U the App, we talk about the risk of always comparing your child's path in this position to what others are doing, especially when it comes time to make Spring Hockey choices. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, which features Jet Greaves of the Columbus Blue Jackets with some great depth advice on even-man rush chances, and how you should adjust if it breaks down in tight. And in our weekly gear segment we go to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a look at the new Vaughn Ion pads and gloves already being worn by Calvin Pickard of the Oilers in the NHL and available now in store and online.

Vegas Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon in conversation! A busy few days of trades saw Vegas land Rasmus Andersson from Calgary after extension issues steered the deal away from Boston, continuing the Golden Knights tradition of bold swings. Vancouver moved Kiefer Sherwood to San Jose for draft picks and depth, giving the Canucks five picks in the top 50, while the Sharks add energy and puck retrieval. In New York, Chris Drury told Rangers fans the plan is to re-tool, not rebuild, but trade protection for Panarin, Zibanejad, and Miller complicates matters, and Panarin appears unlikely to return on a new deal. Matthew Tkachuk had a wild first game back, highlighted by a heavy hit and a rare Bobrovsky versus Nedeljkovic goalie fight, while Florida faces a playoff squeeze without Barkov for the rest of the regular season. Then, Kelly McCrimmon joins the show to discuss the return the Flames got for Andersson, the impact that injuries have had on their season, the importance of Mark Stone, and the coming circus around Mitch Marner’s return to Toronto.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Let's do this! The Cult of Hockey podcast. By the Faithful and for the Faithful. Today Kurt Leavins and David Staples of the Edmonton Journal digs into the Edmonton Oilers 1-0 loss to Ilya Sorokin and the Islanders of New York City.
It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending situation and tried to figure out how the team will solve it. Given that carrying three goaltenders is less than ideal, the organization will eventually have to make a decision. Given how well Ingram has played since being recalled, it seems completely unlikely that Connor Ingram will be the one to go, but it's clear that the organization still respects what Calvin Pickard has done in his time here. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the New York Islanders, and Ilya Sorokin absolutely robbed them of two points by standing on his head. Given how well New York's goalie played, it's almost impossible to be too upset about the result, but that didn't stop the boys from being slightly annoyed anyway. They also discussed Andrew Mangiapane being a healthy scratch again and looked at what it will take to get him either in the mix or out of the market. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season now past the halfway mark, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Flyers finished their home-stand 1-2-1 and were dominated by Tampa Bay in back-to-back games. The power play AND Sam Ersson both continue to struggle which leaves up wondering why CAN the Flyers do to fix each problem?
Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne are joined by New York Rangers hockey analyst and CEO of Clear Sight Analytics Steve Valiquette (1:59) to chat about the Rangers' losing streak reaching 5 games after their 8-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators, Joseph Woll's recent starts and why he would showcase the Leafs' netminder's tape to younger goaltenders, why the numbers reveal the need for a third goalie on an NHL team, and Mitch Marner's ability to setup scorers on the Leafs vs. on the Vegas Golden Knights. Then, on Grill Marks, Vally asks which goalie has the best save percentage when their team is up by one, when the game is tied, and when down by one score. Afterwards, Nick, Justin and Sam McKee look at Zdeno Chára's jersey retirement ceremony with the Boston Bruins. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
With Kass and Dusty away on business, YouTube Trev steps in to fill the big shoes. The fellas preview tonight's matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the New York Islanders. What do the Oilers need to do to get back in the win column? We break it all down, touching on the brilliance of Connor McDavid as he continues to dominate. The boys also deliver the lineups for the game, debating the goaltending situation in Edmonton. Trev goes on to pick Gager's brain about all things hockey. They hit on some notes around the NHL and the rest of the hockey world, as Joaquin shares some personal stories on a fun edition of the show. 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!
On today's episode of 2 Guys & a Goalie, the fellas recap last night's 4-1 Oilers win over the Chicago Blackhawks. They'll break down what they liked from the game, taking a closer look at Connor Ingram's performance, while diving into the lineup decisions that led to a solid team effort. Then it's all about what's next as the Oilers head into tonight's matchup against the Nashville Predators. What do they need to do to keep the momentum rolling? Will we see any lineup changes? And Tristan Jarry and Jake Walman have both been activated off LTIR. How does that affect the goaltending group moving forward? What happens when the Oilers have to make that tough decision? The boys hash it all out and much more on today's episode of 2 Guys & a Goalie. 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!
