Absolutely packed episode since the last one; lots to discuss. We start with Week 6 in the NFL which was a terrible slate of games and the NY Jets were the worst of the worst (2:59); the Jets are an affront to NFL Football and everyone (the QB, the coach) stinks. On the flip side- the NY Giants beat the defending champion Eagles and there is hope again in Giants land (7:27). Around the NFL- shout out to Baker Mayfield- the best story in the NFL, the Steelers are somehow good and KC will likely win 12 games again (12:32). Monologue concludes with another case of LeBron James being a jackass (15:56). Then a recurring guest is back to preview the Eastern Conference and do over/under wins picks (17:53) and then another recurring guest is back to talk about the NY Yankees exit from the playoffs and their future followed by a plug for his NY Islanders (1:22:15). The Jets are a mess! Defense showed up, but Justin Fields looked “locked up,” and Boomer called it the worst QB performance in team history—fake punts and all. Garrett Wilson's frustration is visible, and Gio doubts Aaron Glenn even gets it. Jerry opened with the loss, Fields snapped at a start-next-week question, and NFL chaos spilled over as Dan Campbell apologized after the Lions-Chiefs fight. Boomer also highlighted a teen on the Islanders, while Gio admitted the NFL picks segment is in shambles and hinted at a format shakeup.

Show notes provided by Joe PelusoWith back to back Stanley Cups under their belts, Chris and Joepreview the 2025/2026 Florida Panthers upcoming NHL season. Employing lethal legerdemain in the front office, the brain thrust of the Panthers brought back to the ice almost everyone to make a rush at a "three peat" With his usual unerring stick to puck skills, Chris lays out the most important factors that could make a third straight Cup possible for the Florida fans. But will season ending surgery to centre Aleksander Barkov, and a lingering injury to forward MatthewTkachuk derail their best laid plans? Or can the Panthers "skate"through the early part of the season, licking their wounds, and then strike feline-like at the rest of the league? The hockey world will be watching. Because not since the halcyon days of the New York Islanders has any team won three straight Cups. It should be an interesting and wild season.
The Penguins defeated the Islanders in the home opener. Mario Lemieux was in the building and went to the locker room after the game. Is this part of Mario's attempt to buy back the team? Jaxson Dart had a great game and beat the Eagles. Cam Skattebo is a stud running back. Would Skattebo have broken through with the Steelers?

The Jags and Colts are rolling at 4-1, while the Jets and Giants are a brutal 1-9 combined. Boomer's not feeling any “Championship Winds” in New York—hockey's cold, the Yankees on the verge of being swept, and Gio's worried Schlittler's mouth might jinx their only shot at a win.
