Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and is ready to help you through the rest of your workweek. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' series-clinching win, Stuart Skinner posting back-to-back shutouts, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a random conversation about Instagram ads and how you can sometimes be following an account only to have them pivot to the weirdest posts for cash. That led the guys to wonder what the model is for these accounts to abandon their normal content in favour of ads that annoy all of their followers. Clearly, there's money to be made, but is that angle the right one?Turning back to the Oilers, the team walked through the series-clinching win in Game 5, discussing how it was an incredible victory given how tight the game ultimately shook out. The most impressive part of that win was how the Oilers were able to suppress the Golden Knights offensively, leaving them with next to nothing in the offensive zone. Equally impressive was the way Edmonton kept getting depth goals at key moments when we needed them most.Changing gears, the guys took a look at some news from around the NHL to share their thoughts on what's been happening. Starting with Sam Gagner signing in Ottawa in player development to the Toronto Maple Leafs imploding on themselves in Game 5 at home, the Thursday episode of the podcast was all over the map and arguably the most fun the boys have had in a minute.
Ask Dubey episode 4 is live! Today Devan Dubnyk answers your questions from the past week and breaks down the Edmonton Oilers re-taking charge of their round 2 matchup vs the Golden Knights after Then Devan jumped into your questions! Dubey gave his thoughts on the impact a goalie coach has on a starter and a backup, do stiffer pads create better rebounds, how a goaltenders vision dictates which side they feel more comfortable, and what the Edmonton Oilers have to do to close out the Golden Knights?Don't forget to comment whatever questions you want Dubey to answer next week or use #AskDubey on social media!

Nothing is better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to recap the weekend and start your week. On the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' need for a win in Game 4, playoff shenanigans in the city, and much more. The boys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics around the Oilers' second round matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. After losing Game 3 in the most painful fashion imaginable, the pressure is on Edmonton to turn things around or risk losing the advantage they built by winning the first two matchups. Even though this isn't a must-win game in the literal sense, it certainly feels like it in the spiritual sense. Changing gears, producer Eli jumped onto the podcast to tell the story about our intern Padon getting kicked out of the Moss Pit for allegedly sneaking alcohol in. The problem with their theory, of course, is that Padon doesn't drink. Not only does he not drink alcohol, but the guy was wearing shorts and didn't have a bag of any type that would allow him even to try. Pivoting once again, Chalmers wanted to talk about banana cream pies after he crushed one over the weekend from Duchess Bake Shop. That led to a discussion about baking in general, including everyone's love of fresh bread with butter. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with a Game 4 preview ahead of Monday's game against Vegas, and how there are a couple of line combo changes that have people raising an eyebrow. Talking line combos led to some betting talk for our friends at bet365, before wrapping up with the podcast with another run of random topics.
Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Tuesday's Game 1 win, Calvin Pickard taking over the net, what to expect in Game 2, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life by discussing the Oilers' making it through Game 1 with one of their more complete postseason games so far. Given that everyone expected Vegas to blow them out, especially after dropping two goals early, watching the boys come roaring back over the final 50 minutes was every shade of fun. The question on everyone's mind after a win like that is whether the Oilers can keep the train rolling in Game 2. Taking a hard pivot from the Oilers talk, the boys discussed the new pope getting announced earlier Thursday afternoon. Given that he will be known as Pope Leo, is that a good omen for our beloved Leon Draisaitl? The betting boys on the podcast certainly think so. Sticking with the papal talk, Wanye then told a story from when he was living in Mexico and had the airport shut down when the former pope landed in Mexico City. Changing gears once again, Jay recapped his trip to Toronto with a story about how the city didn't seem that into the playoffs even though the Leafs were in Round 2. Jay spoke about how quiet bars and pubs were while he was there and how it was also a challenge to find anyone who would play the Oilers game. Somehow, taking shots at the city of Toronto led to a discussion about the Utah Mammoth logo reveal, and everyone also learned how much it bothers Tyler that the name wasn't pluralized.
Nothing is better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to recap the weekend and start your week. On the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' series win, what to expect from the Vegas Golden Knights, and much more. The boys were shorthanded for the Monday episode of Real Life, but Tyler, Chalmers, and Baggedmilk kicked off the podcast with a recap of their first round win over the Los Angeles Kings. While many of the pundits and experts felt this was the Kings' year to beat the Oilers finally, what actually happened was a fantastic display of resilience by an Edmonton crew that would not quit. As a result, the Kings announced that they've parted ways with Rob Blake as the team's GM only days after a fourth consecutive first-round exit.Looking ahead at the Vegas Golden Knights, Tyler walked the boys through what to expect from their second round matchup vs. the Vegas Golden Knights. While there's little doubt the Golden Knights are a fantastic hockey club, Tyler also singled out some areas where the Oilers could have an advantage over the team that knocked them out of the playoffs two years ago. Changing gears, the guys then looked back at the two Game 7s that happened over the weekend, and how both games had the wildest endings you could ever hope to see. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including a look back at some of the stats from Oilers/Vegas from two years ago, depth scoring, tactics, and much more. Despite playing shorthanded for the Monday show, the boys worked through the hour with an array of topics that were all over the map.
Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed living on a cruise ship, the death of happy hour, Oilers vs. Kings, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including Jay's Australian stock pact with Dooks, communication via random DMs, and anything else that happened to be on everyone's mind. Talking about social media made the guys wonder if it would be fun to live on a cruise ship. As you'll hear, the start of the Thursday episode of Real Life was all over the map.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the guys looked ahead at Game 6 and what the team needs to do to close out this series. After earning the chance to close out a fourth consecutive first-round win over the Kings, the Oilers must come up with their best game of the series to punch their way through to the next round. From playoff Mattis Janmark coming through in the clutch to Evan Bouchard's redemption, to Calvin Pickard locking things down, there are plenty of reasons to be bullish about the team's chances.Looking around the rest of the NHL, the guys discussed the rest of the series and how the storylines from the first round continue to make this the best round of the playoffs. They then discussed what's happening around the city, and now that cell phones are in everybody's hand, the ability to experience a playoff run becomes so much easier. As you'll hear, the boys are excited about Game 6 and how much fun the city will be if the Oilers get through to the second round for the 4th consecutive season.

Nothing is better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to recap the weekend and start your week. On the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' series comeback, Evan Bouchard's redemption, the NFL draft, and much more. The guys started the Monday episode of Real Life by looking at the Oilers' miraculous comeback in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings. While neither Games 3 nor 4 were masterpieces by Edmonton, the resilience they showed to come back on both nights was as extraordinary as it was concerning that they could keep doing it. As much as the comebacks were thrilling, wouldn't it be nice to have the boys find an early lead and be able to keep it for 60 minutes?Diving into the Game 4 win, the guys discussed the Oilers' comeback win and how Sunday's victory was as electric as it gets in the post-season. Starting with the way the Oilers got better as the game wore on, the guys wondered why it takes the boys being down by a goal or more before they're able to get themselves going.Changing gears, the guys looked at the NFL draft from this past weekend, and how the Cleveland Browns snagged Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round even though some people — his old man, specifically — were hyping him up as a top prospect. Since Jay is a massive Browns fan, everyone wanted to know whether or not he'd be purchasing a new jersey to celebrate his team's new toy. From there, Chalmers also let the boys know about a prank call involving Sanders and how the kid's dad ended up taking shrapnel as a result.
What a weekend in Oil Country! On today's Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin recap a wild few days that saw the Edmonton Oilers completely change the momentum of their first-round series against the LA Kings. After starting the weekend down 2-0, the Oilers now head into Monday with the series tied 2-2.It all started Friday night when the Oilers dominated the Kings with a 7-4 victory at Rogers Place. Calvin Pickard made his first career playoff start and was huge in the third period to lock down the win and breathe life into the series. Then came Sunday night — a game that will be talked about for a long time in Edmonton. The Oilers mounted a stunning third-period comeback, erasing a two-goal deficit to force overtime. Other teams in this year's playoffs were 25-0 when leading by multiple goals, but not against this Oilers squad. Evan Bouchard was once again the hero with two massive goals to tie it up, before Leon Draisaitl capped off an incredible night with a powerplay overtime winner from his office. We'll break down everything that happened this weekend with our scoring summaries, deliver our One Big Take, and ask the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Plus, we'll dive into what this comeback means for the Oilers moving forward, and how the LA Kings' psyche might be shaken heading back home for Game 5.Finally, we'll be joined by Oilers colour commentator Louie DeBrusk to get his thoughts on the Oilers' huge momentum swing, the performance of Calvin Pickard, and how confident he is that Edmonton can close out this series for the fourth straight year. You don't want to miss today's show!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed The Last of Us, Wednesday's Game 2 loss, where the Edmonton Oilers go from here, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about anything other than the Edmonton Oilers. Instead, Chalmers ranted about The Last of Us after Wednesday's episode dropped a bombshell on viewers that our man did not see coming. Given that no one else on the podcast watches the show, the conversation didn't last more than a few seconds. If you're a fan of the show, however, you probably know what Chalmers was talking about.Changing gears, the boys got a second rant from Chalmers about the state of the Oilers. After dropping Game 2 more disappointingly than the first game, it was incredibly frustrating to watch a veteran team like this battle the details of their game as much as they are. Whether you're concerned with the goaltending, the defensive coverage, the lack of offence, or all of the above, there's little doubt that there are countless issues the Oilers need to sort out if they have any hope of getting back in the series. On a positive note, Tyler offered a few reasons why Oilers fans should be hopeful. As good as the Kings are at Crypto.com Arena, they are equally bad as the away team, which could give Edmonton an avenue to chip away at the deficit. As much as hoping for the best is part of the Oilersnation brand — Hope Will Never Die after all — it can be a battle when the team looks as down as they are right now, but the mission for Friday is to bring the good vibes anyway.
The boys are joined by Steve Peters, telestration producer for ESPN and a long-time NHL analyst, to break down the first two games of the series. He'll share his thoughts on the Oilers' decision to go nuclear, what's gone wrong in LA, and the ongoing question marks in Edmonton's crease.Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
Game 2 is in the books, and it's one the Oilers would like to forget. On today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin break down a rough night in Los Angeles as the Kings dominated the Oilers at Crypto.com Arena, skating away with a 6-2 win and a 2-0 lead in the series.Kris Knoblauch's decision to go nuclear—loading up the top line with both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl—backfired, as the Oilers struggled to generate any sustained offense when their stars weren't on the ice. Stuart Skinner had another difficult outing, giving up five goals on 28 shots before being pulled in the third period in favour of Calvin Pickard. While there were some positives—like the season debut of Evander Kane—it wasn't enough to flip the script in Game 2.We'll go through our scoring summary, hand out our one big take from the night, and ask our Sherwood Ford Giant Question: Who should start in net for Game 3 when the series shifts back to Edmonton?Later in the show, we'll be joined by Steve Peters, telestration producer for ESPN and a long-time NHL analyst, to break down the first two games of the series. He'll share his thoughts on the Oilers' decision to go nuclear, what's gone wrong in LA, and the ongoing question marks in Edmonton's crease. The pressure is mounting as the Oilers head back to Rogers Place—can they turn it around on home ice? It's Game 2 of the Oilers vs. Kings series and the pressure is on. The Edmonton Oilers are looking to rebound after a crushing 6-5 loss in Game 1—a game that saw them erase a four-goal deficit, only to surrender the game-winner in the final minute of regulation. On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will preview tonight's pivotal matchup as the Oilers aim to even the series before heading back to Edmonton. We'll dive into the lineup report, with any projected changes ahead of puck drop, and share important game notes that could shape the outcome of Game 2. From potential adjustments to the defensive pairings, to key matchups up front, we'll break it all down. We'll ask our Sherwood Ford Giant Question of the day and be joined by Oilersnation writer Bruce Curlock, who will share his thoughts on what went wrong in Game 1, and whether he still believes the Oilers can take this series—even without home ice advantage.Later in the show, we'll hit our Boston Pizza Playoff Report, taking a look around the league at other big matchups and storylines from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And of course, we'll wrap things up with another round of our Bet365 Gameday Betting Challenge. It's another jam-packed playoff edition of Oilersnation Everyday—you won't want to miss it!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs did not go the way the Edmonton Oilers hoped. On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin recap an emotional rollercoaster of a game that ended in heartbreak. The Oilers fell 6-5 to the LA Kings after allowing the game-winning goal from Philip Danault with under a minute left in regulation. The Oilers were down 4-0 early in the game but battled back in the third period, eventually tying it on a clutch goal from Connor McDavid. Despite the comeback, it wasn't enough. We'll break down the full scoring summary, analyze some of the key turning points—including a costly Evan Bouchard turnover—and examine Stuart Skinner's performance between the pipes. We'll deliver our One Big Take, pose the Sherwood Ford Giant Question, and look ahead to Game 2, breaking down what the Oilers need to adjust to return to Edmonton with the series tied at 1-1.Plus, we'll be joined by Zach Laing, News Director at Oilersnation, to get his take on the Game 1 loss. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Tyler's childhood footwear, Wanye's broken toilet, and previewed the Oilers vs. Kings series which is set to kick off on Monday. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the Mega Stream that Tyler and Liam will be doing on Monday in anticipation of Game 1 against the Kings. As you'll hear, the boys have some fun stuff planned to fill up an eight-hour stream, and you'll want to subscribe to the Oilersnation YouTube page to ensure you're involved in the hijinks.Changing gears, Chalmers discussed his driving fear of going underneath overpasses with trains on them. Although there has never been a situation involving a train accident of any kind, he still feels anxious anytime he drives under a train. That story led Tyler to talk about his hatred of stairs and how he wore clogs with bells on them as a kid. Despite his story not making sense, the boys had a healthy chuckle to hear about the oddness of his childhood footwear.Next up on the docket was a story about Chalmers running over to Wanye's house this morning to fix his running toilet. If you remember, Chalmers had a situation in one of his rentals where a running toilet resulted in a $3800 water bill, so the trauma from that story still lives rent-free in his mind. As you'll hear, Wanye Manor is as much a place to hold inventory for his projects as it is a place for him to live, in addition to having a broken toilet that is basically unfixable. Finally, the boys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a discussion about the Oilers' playoff run that will kick off Monday. Starting with the schedule, the guys wondered what would have to happen in the world for the Oilers to play earlier than 8PM so that the rest of the league can watch what is turning out to be the best rivalry in hockey.
Finally done with the regular season after the Oilers snagged the last two points of the year against the Sharks, the boys will break it down on today's 2 Guys & A Goalie. They will recap the 3-0 win you watched last night while keeping the focus on the larger goal in sight as well. Don't miss Dusty, Gager and Kass on a loaded Thursday program. All that and much, much more on 2 Guys & A Goalie. 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction and brought to you in part by Coolbet Canada!
Last night saw the season finale of the regular season, and the Edmonton Oilers closed it out with a strong 3-0 win over the San Jose Sharks. On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, we're recapping the victory, celebrating milestones, and looking ahead to what promises to be another thrilling playoff run.Stuart Skinner was lights out in the Oilers' crease, turning aside all 18 shots he faced to secure his third shutout of the season. The night also belonged to Connor McDavid, who recorded his 100th point of the campaign—becoming just the fourth player in NHL history to hit the century mark in eight different seasons. With only 10 years in the league under his belt, McDavid continues to build on his legacy. The depth stepped up too, with goals from Ty Emberson and Max Jones—his first in an Oilers jersey—helping lift the team to the win. We'll go through all the key moments in our scoring summary and discuss what we learned from Game 82 as the Oilers head into the playoffs riding some positive momentum. We'll also look back on the regular season as a whole, deliver our final One Big Take of the regular season, ask our Sherwood Ford Giant Question, and officially crown a winner in the Game Day Bet365 Betting Challenge. Who came out on top after 82 games of predictions and wagers? And to cap off the show, we're honoured to be joined by Oilers legend and Hall of Fame goaltender Grant Fuhr. He'll share stories from his playoff runs in Edmonton, reflect on what it means to play for this city in the postseason, and give his thoughts on the Oilers' current squad heading into Round 1 against the LA Kings. You don't want to miss this one—it's the final regular season show before the real fun begin!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Dusty and Tommy are set for a game day edition of The Oil Stream. It's 82 of 82, and before the Oilers can get comfy in LA for the first two games of their series, they get the Kings, cross-state rival, the Sharks. An already depleted blue line gets thinner as Nurse will sit out a game for his cross-check late in Monday's game. The fellas will set you up with lines, injury updates and further insight. All that and so much more on today's Oil Stream. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
It's the final Wednesday of the regular season, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to get you prepped for the playoffs. On today's podcast, I'm discussing Oilersnation's playoff plans, what to expect from the Oilers and Kings, and much more.I started this week's Better Lait Than Never episode with a little playoff preview from an Oilersnation content perspective. I walked through what we've got coming for playoff coverage and how excited I am to get the post-season going, even though so many people seem down on our boys right now. Just because we're not travelling to L.A. for Round 1 this year, that doesn't mean we don't still have plenty planned for playoff content.Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I looked ahead at the 4th straight playoff kickoff against the Los Angeles Kings and how I expect this round to be different. Even though I still believe the Oilers can win, there are definitely some concerns going into this series that are new and scary for our boys. I also touched briefly on the Oilers' final regular season matchup against the San Jose Sharks as Connor McDavid looks for his eighth career 100-point season. Given that he's sitting at 99 points on the year and the final game is against the last-place Sharks, I'm feeling pretty good about him getting there. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about Phillip Danault's whining during the intermission about the Oilers trying to hurt Kings players before wrapping up the podcast with a quality round of voicemails. While the voicemail was more lively this week, the messages were very funny anyway. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to most.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here!
It's the season finale of the regular season, and we've got you covered on Oilersnation Everyday with a full preview of Game 82 between the Edmonton Oilers and the San Jose Sharks. The Oilers are officially locked into the third seed in the Pacific Division and will face off against the LA Kings in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs—for the 4th straight year. With the Kings holding the NHL's best home record, we'll dive into how much of an impact the Oilers' lack of home-ice advantage could have on the series. There's also some big roster news ahead of tonight's matchup. Darnell Nurse has been suspended one game for his cross-check on Quinton Byfield, meaning he'll miss the season finale. We'll talk about what the suspension means for the blueline tonight and what it could mean for Nurse's role heading into the postseason.Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will run through everything you need to know about tonight's regular season curtain-closer with a full lineup report, key game notes, our Sherwood Ford Giant Question, and One Big Take. Plus, it's the final edition of the Game Day Bet365 Betting Challenge—will Liam hold onto his lead or will there be a last-minute comeback? To wrap things up, we'll be joined by former Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk to preview Edmonton's upcoming playoff series against the Kings. We'll get his thoughts on who should be the Game 1 starter in net, what he sees as the keys to the series, and we'll even share some exciting news involving Devan and Oilersnation! It's been a wild ride through 81 games, and the playoffs are right around the corner. The Edmonton Oilers wrapped up their final regular season home game in disappointing fashion, getting shut out 5-0 by the LA Kings. With the win, the Kings officially clinched home ice advantage for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where they'll now host the Oilers when the postseason begins next week. It was a rough night for Edmonton, who played without some of their biggest stars — nearly $40 million worth of players were up in the press box due to injury, including Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and more.Despite the depleted lineup, there was no shortage of intensity. The game featured a number of heavy hits and classic playoff-style scrums. The most heated moment of the night came in the third period, when Darnell Nurse cross-checked Quinton Byfield in the back of the head after the whistle. Nurse was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct and will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety later today. Will he be suspended? Will it be just a fine? Let us know what you think in the comments!Calvin Pickard was under siege for most of the night, facing 36 shots and allowing five goals in what turned out to be a tough outing for the Oilers' netminder. The team simply couldn't get anything going offensively and were thoroughly outplayed by a Kings squad that looked playoff-ready.On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down the entire game with a scoring summary, the one big take, and today's Sherwood Ford Giant Question. They'll also get you up to date on the latest injury news and what it could mean heading into the playoffs.Later in the show, Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis will join the show to discuss some exciting prospect news from around the hockey world. We'll get his thoughts on Ivan Demidov's highly anticipated NHL debut, where Quinn Hutson fits into the Oilers' plans, and which NCAA and European free agents are generating buzz at the end of the season. It's a jam-packed show with major implications as the playoffs draw near. Nothing is better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to recap the weekend and start your week. On the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Masters final day, the Oilers' playoff run, and much more. The guys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with an array of random topics, including everyone's anticipation of the Oilers' playoff run and Rory McIlroy's Masters win from Sunday. Starting with the golf, the guys spoke about how awesome it was to see Rory get the grand slam after over a decade of trying to win that fourth major. Seeing as there was plenty of history about blown opportunities for Rory, watching him overcome that adversity was fantastic in every possible way. This past weekend was an incredible sports weekend, and it was a lot of fun to watch the Oilers handle their business despite being shorthanded only moments after one of the most exciting Masters finishes ever. To assess the Oilers' situation, the guys started by discussing Mattias Ekholm's season-ending injury and how that is a massive blow to Edmonton's playoff aspirations. No matter how you slice it, that is an enormous loss for an Edmonton team that has been questionable defensively all season. Sticking with the NHL, the guys discussed some of the playoff races that are still happening, with only a few games left in the schedule, including Calgary's path to the playoffs if they keep winning. As you'll hear, there are plenty of storylines to follow during this last week of the regular season, and it will be fascinating to see how everything shakes out. The only problem with the conversation is that there was a lot of math involved, so you'll want to sharpen your pencil and bring your calculators.
Off of a successful four point weekend, the Oilers go at it again as the Kings come through town. The boys will catch you up on everything you need to know on another packed edition of The Oil Stream. Between lineup updates, the injury report and a late season preview of a first round matchup it's another loaded hour. All that and whatever else the fellas conversation takes them too on the program today. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
The Edmonton Oilers went into Winnipeg on Sunday night and delivered a massive 4-1 win over the league-leading Jets. It was a complete effort from a team that continues to battle through injuries and adversity late in the season. With home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs still in reach, the Oilers showed they're not backing down, even without a fully healthy roster. From the drop of the puck, they took control of the game and never really looked back.Scoring came from all throughout the lineup, with goals from Connor Brown, Corey Perry, Adam Henrique, and Viktor Arvidsson. It was the kind of depth production the Oilers will need in the postseason, and last night proved this group can step up when needed. Connor McDavid continued his torrid pace since returning from injury, playing a key role in the team's offensive success once again. He looked confident and dangerous every time he touched the puck. The win also marked the return of Stuart Skinner, who hadn't started since March 26th against the Dallas Stars. He wasn't overly busy, but he was sharp when called upon, stopping 24 of 25 shots and making a strong case to be the Game 1 starter for the Oilers in the playoffs. With Calvin Pickard playing well in Skinner's absence, the Oilers are now faced with a tough but positive decision in net.On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down last night's huge win with a full scoring summary, their one big take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. They'll also preview tonight's massive showdown against the LA Kings at Rogers Place — a game that has huge implications in the Pacific Division and could be a preview of the first round.Plus, Louie DeBrusk will join the show for his weekly segment to share his thoughts on the Oilers' current injury luck, the team's recent form, and how Jay Woodcroft and his staff might approach the goaltending decision moving forward. We'll also look around the NHL playoff race and talk about where the Oilers fit in with just a few games remaining in the regular season. On today's special episode of Oilersnation Everyday, we're joined by an all-time great — Oilers legend Mark Messier. From growing up in Edmonton to leading the Oilers through one of the greatest dynasties in NHL history, Messier shares his memories of the City of Champions and what made playing here so special. We dive into the culture of the city, the legacy of those iconic teams, and what it meant to bring Stanley Cups home to Edmonton. Plus, Mess offers his take on the current Oilers squad and whether they have what it takes to capture hockey's ultimate prize once again. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Oodle Noodle's origin story, Connor McDavid's return to the lineup, meme coins, and much more. The guys started the Thursday show with a history of Oodle Noodle as the Jay and Wanye-led restaurant chain turned 20 years old on Thursday. From how they formed a relationship with the founder, Sonny, to travelling to Vietnam to formalize the relationship, hearing the Oodle Noodle origin story was a wonderful trip down memory lane.Changing gears, the guys discussed Connor McDavid's return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the St. Louis Blues and how his surprising return was not only welcomed but also incredibly productive. Not only was it incredible to see McDavid back on the ice with his teammates, but to have him go supernova in his first time out was an incredible display of dominance in a game Edmonton needed to win.Unable to stick to one topic for more than a few seconds, the conversation shifted to Wanye's Tyler Yaremchuk A.I. doll, which prompted Yaremchuk to confess that he is Oilersnation. If you've seen the photo, A.I. did a fantastic job creating a Tyler doll, but Yaremchuk worries that people will think he's making these images of himself. Could this be a long con to get Tyler even more hate than he already does online? Stay tuned. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with a collection of random topics that ranged from the Masters tournament, NBA shenanigans, and some betting talk about all things sports. As always, the Thursday episode of Real Life was as random as it was enjoyable.
Monday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life is ready to help you start your week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Trent Frederic's latest injury, Rexall Place memories, Will Smith's return, and much more. The guys started the Monday episode by discussing Trent Frederic's ankle injury again against the L.A. Kings on Saturday afternoon. Despite playing only 7:10 in TOI, Frederic re-injured his ankle and will now miss the rest of the regular season, with the goal of returning to the playoffs. Considering Frederic got re-injured in his first game as an Oiler, the fellas discussed the comparison to Mike Green playing on two games after the trade to Edmonton and refusing to return for the bubble playoffs.Sunday marked the ninth anniversary of Rexall Place closing, so the guys spent the next few minutes talking about the old barn and comparing the vibes to how they are now at Rogers Place.Next, there was a discussion about Alex Ovechkin breaking Wayne Gretzky's record and speculation about whether he will finish out the last season on his contract or go to the KHL. Either way, it's an incredible feat for Ovi and it will be interesting to what his next move looks like. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with a little bit of baseball talk after the Jays signed Vladdy to a monster deal worth $500 million over the next 14 years. They also discussed Will Smith's return to the stage as the Fresh Prince tries to rebuild his image after the infamous Chris Rock slap.
Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the #NationVacation to Vegas, Alex Ovechkin's goal chase, and much more. The guys started the Thursday episode of Real Life with a recap of the #NationVacation to Las Vegas and how it was a magical few days for the crew on Fremont Street. Starting with the way the boys cleaned up at the craps table, Baggedmilk updated Chalmers on how much money everyone made and how the trio can't seem to lose when they play together. From there, the guys started a semantic argument about the Ovechkin goal record chase and how the goals/game should be factored in once the record is tied. As you'll hear, most of the boys don't care much about those kinds of things, but that didn't stop Jay and Tyler from getting into it anyway. The guys started to wrap up the Thursday episode of Real Life with some Oilers talk about the injuries they're still battling and whether players like Connor McDavid and Stuart Skinner will be back before the playoffs. Given how tight the race is between the Oilers and the Kings, finding ways to win these last eight games has to be the focus. Finally, the Thursday episode of Real Life wound down with some baseball talk about the Jays and the new torpedo bats that seem to be taking the MLB by storm. Tyler and Chalmers then discussed some golf stories that have propped up lately, and we also gave Chalmers Jakey Baby's feedback that he's not a real golf fan. As always, the Thursday episode of Real Life was as random as it was enjoyable.
