Nielson and Gazzola are back with another episode of the Oil Stream, presented by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on Edmonton Sports Talk! Dusty and Tommy are set up in the new Edmonton Sports Talk Studio! The boys are breaking down the top five stories of the off-season for the Oilers as the Boston Pizza Headliner. From Jeff Jackson's arrival to Kailer Yamamoto's departure and everything in between the guys will take a deep dive into the biggest stories of the summer for McDavid's club. Inside the Numbers is presented by Coolbet Canada.
There was some actual Oilers news to talk about on this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio.Kicking off the podcast, we got started with a random conversation about woodpeckers attacking Jay's house. Why? It's a fair question given that woodpeckers have nothing to do with the Edmonton Oilers. Getting the podcast back on track, we got into the Oilers talk with a delicious debate about which PTO — Sam Gagner or Brandon Sutter — is most likely to turn their tryout into a contract. Will either of them even make it out of camp? Checking in on some former friends, we looked at the Zack Kassian PTO in Anaheim and Devin Shore landing a one-year with the Seattle Kraken. Seeing former Oilers land in other markets led us to discuss whether or not the bottom portion of our roster will have enough firepower to relieve the pressure on McDavid and Draisaitl to perform. What is a fair season for Nuge? What will Evander Kane do now that he's healthy? How will Connor Brown fare in his first year in Edmonton? Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots, and Hot and Cold performers.Shoutout to the episode's sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Wilhauk Beef Jerky: https://www.wilhaukbeefjerky.com/Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to sales@thenationnetwork.com to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! It's another episode of 2 Guys and a Goalie presented by Coolbet Canada with Dustin Nielson, Matt Kassianand Joaquin Gage! A quick recap of the weekend to start the show in which Kassian took ear plugs to a concert but says he's just a dad and not super lame. The Elks snapped their home losing streak and the boys are pretty sure it's because Gager wasn't slinging wieners in the back at Commonwealth. Dusty and the boys dive into the Matthews contract with Kassian explaining how it could be much better for the Leafs than it looks on the surface. How much more will McDavid get when his contract is up and will he take a discount to build a winner? The 2 Guys crew were at a golf tournament together last Thursday and had the G.O.A.T of golf tournament dinners which lead to Gager teaching Nielson how to eat lobster. The episode wraps with some Connor Brown discussion and where he belongs in the lineup to start the season.
It's Thursday afternoon and the boys have nothing going on, which means there was plenty to talk about on the newest episode of the Real Life Podcast.Kicking off the podcast, the guys jumped in with an extending chat about the #NationVacation to Seattle and how the guys don't believe Chalmers when he says he's coming. While he says he wants to head to Seattle with the boys, the likelihood of him actually getting on that airplane is a completely different story. Getting back to the Oilers, the guys dove into the Evan Bouchard contract news that came down yesterday, and whether or not it was a good enough deal from the team's side given that the player didn't have much leverage in terms of the negotiation. The guys also discussed the Auston Matthews contract extension that came down yesterday, and how that may affect McDavid and Draisaitl's upcoming deals. Does having Matthews come in at $13.25 mean Draisaitl and McDavid have to clear that by a substantial margin? Lastly, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a live draft for the Real Life Football pool that happens every year when the NFL gets underway. Hosted on Acast. Nielson and Gazzola are back with another episode of the Oil Stream, presented by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on Edmonton Sports Talk! The boys dive into the rumoured 3.9 million dollar 2 year deal for Evan Bouchard and how the deal basically was forced upon both sides due to cap constraints. How does the Matthews contract impact what the Oilers end up doing with Leon Draisaitl? Did the Oilers part ways with Tyler Wright based on his results in the draft or simply because the new boss, Jeff Jackson, wanted his own guy in place? Inside the Numbers for Coolbet Canada take a look at how the numbers on McDavid's next deal won't be impacted by any player in the league now or in league history.

After taking Monday off, the guys are back with a fresh episode of The Real Life Podcast. The first part of the podcast was just Tyler and Wanye because the rest of the crew forgot what time they were supposed to start recording at. Tyler and Wanye talked about the Elks firing of Victor Cui and some other nonsense before Jay eventually showed up to the studio. They talked about the launch of the first Nation Vacation for the 2023-24 season in Seattle. It's going to be a banger of a trip that includes both hockey and football games. The crew was also recording from a newly renovated studio, which Jay quickly ripped apart. Baggedmilk finally pulled up towards the end of the podcast and gave some takes on the newest season of Big Brother. The crew also talked about a few Oilers topics like Jeff Jackson, Steve Staois, and the chances of McDavid buying the Elks. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Edmonton Oilers are in Cup or Bust mode as long as they have two of the best players in the league, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Tyler Yaremchuk of The Daily Faceoff and Oilers Nation joins for the state of the franchise. We discuss why this team will be in Cup or Bust mode for the foreseeable future and if Tyler is starting to worry that McDavid and Draisaitl will become this generation's Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. Next, we analyze their offseason, including drafting Beau Akey and how the goaltending will shake out between Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell. Finally, Tyler gives his worst and best-case scenarios for the Oilers this year, why Darnell Nurse is so important, and where the Oilers finish in the Pacific. Let's do this! The Cult of Hockey podcast. By the Faithful and for the Faithful, tonight with Bruce McCurdy and David Staples. They dig into the Edmonton Oilers hiring of new hockey CEO Jeff Jackson, Connor McDavid's agent
We're working our way through the off-season dead zone, but that didn't mean we didn't still have plenty to talk about on this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio.Kicking off the podcast, we got started with a conversation about Ryan McLeod's new two-year contract that carries a $2.1 million AAV and whether or not it was a fair deal for both sides. We also looked at how this deal was very similar to the one Klim Kostin signed in Detroit and whether or not it makes sense that the Oilers walked away at that number. From there, we took a few guesses as to what Evan Bouchard will sign for given his spot on the roster and how he is easily the team's best offensive defenceman. As you'll hear, talking about the Bouch contract prompted Jay to look way down the line at what this next deal looks like and whether he's the right fit down the line. We also dove into the news that Jeff Jackson was coming to town as the new CEO of Hockey Ops and what that means for the franchise moving forward. Does bringing in McDavid's former agent increase the chances of him sticking around? Gord knows we all hope so. Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots, and Hot and Cold performers. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It's Episode 322 of 2 Guys and a Goalie presented by Coolbet Canada with Dustin Nielson, Matt Kassian and Joaquin Gage! The 2 Guys crew dives into the Oilers hiring Connor McDavid's agent as the new C.E.O. of Hockey Operations. How much say would 97 have had in this decision and does that really matter anyway? Paul Coffey gets a bit more responsibility and could there be even more on the way? Was the Ryan McLeod deal a win-win for both sides and what does he have to do this season to live up to the 2.1 number? What's left for Evan Bouchard and how much will it hurt the Oilers to run with a short roster this year? Dusty's on the road in Winnipeg and asks the boys what their favourite chips are Ketchup or Sour Cream because he had both bags in his hotel room when he arrived. What service!
Matt and Blake discuss if the Canucks can one day surpass Connor McDavid & Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs after it was announced that McDavid's agent would be joining the organization as the CEO of hockey operations. The guys analyze the Whitecaps acquiring Sam Adekugbe and Richie Laryea before welcoming Axel Schuster to the show to breakdown the additions and where the Caps are at ahead of their Leagues Cup match on Friday night. Rob Williams stops by and opines on whether the Canucks should re-sign Ethan Bear, the recent success of the B.C. Lions and Whitecaps, and how those two teams stack up against the Canucks. It's Episode 320 of 2 Guys and a Goalie presented by Coolbet Canada with Dustin Nielson, Matt Kassian and Joaquin Gage! Another classic Summer episode filled with stories and a bit of Oilers chatter. Gager bumps into Jared Spurgeon, a man that Kassian once forcefully moved into his home in Minnesota. The boys dive into the Riverhawks game as Kassian took his family and they got the full experience which lead to some minor league stories and a tale of Dusty's best man running the bases the night before his wedding. Nielson watched the Joker on a flight to Winnipeg so the boys discussed who was the best joker of all-time. What would it take for McDavid and Draisaitl to actually leave Edmonton and if they win a Cup this season does it make it more or less likely they move on? Who would win a best out of seven series between the 1985 Oilers and a team built with the best Oilers from 1991 to present day? Before the boys wrap Kass talks about going to a Stanley Cup party on Saturday and whether or not he should actually lift the Stanley Cup, What Say You?

TSN Hockey Analyst Mike Johnson joined the OverDrive guys earlier today and got into a number of things including the one voter who didn't have McDavid as the Hart winner, Sheldon Keefe returning for the Leafs and what would be a fair number to get Erik Karlsson at.
Justin hosts alongside Brent Gunning! The guys open the show by discussing last night's NHL Awards, Connor McDavid finishing one vote shy of being the league's unanimous MVP, the NHL's issue with forced comedy, and Jim Montgomery's heartwarming Jack Adams acceptance speech. Then, Justin and Brent weigh in on the Bruins shipping Taylor Hall to Chicago in a cap-saving move, the Leafs' patient approach so far this off-season, and Toronto FC's firing of head coach Bob Bradley. Afterwards, the guys close out the hour with our daily edition of the A-List (48:17). The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

Hour 1: Who was the voter that did not have McDavid as his MVP?
Hour 1: NHL Awards and Connor McDavid wins another MVP trophy
Hour 1: Mike and Bulldog discus the NHL writer who voted Edmonton forward Connor McDavid 5th in the Hart Trophy voting.
The NHL Awards are in the books, the draft kicks off tomorrow, and that means we've got plenty to talk about on this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio. To kick off the Tuesday episode of ONR, we started with a look at some of the trades that have been happening around the NHL this past week. From Taylor Hall getting moved to Chicago a few days ago to PLD moving to Los Angeles, the silly szn movement is starting to pick up ahead of the NHL Draft and that gave us an opportunity to grade a few deals that have happened so far. Changing gears, we looked at last night's NHL Awards and how Connor McDavid absolutely cleaned up. The big topic everyone was talking about after the awards, however, was the one writer that had McDavid listed as the fifth best player on his ballot. We also dove into the NHL schedule that was released earlier in the day and heavily complained about the lack of weekend games in some of our potential #NationVacation destinations. That's not to say that we won't be heading on trips anyway, but the NHL certainly didn't do us any favours again this year. Lastly, we wrapped the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with an extended version of Word Association and a very important Oilersnation Open announcement. Same thing as the last email. Tyler and Jay are in Nashville for the NHL Entry Draft and Chalmers and Wanye forgot to show up for the Monday recording, which meant Baggedmilk put together one of the most random episodes of the Real Life Podcast in quite some time.Seeing as I was in control of the Real Life Podcast since the boys were all away or forgot we record these every week at the same time, I invited everyone that was sitting around at Nation HQ to join me for a quick chat about life. Kicking things off, I started the Monday episode of the podcast with some stories about going to the Elks game last night and how I had a great time despite the team being generally terrible. That prompted me to ask the boys when the last time they went to Commonwealth Stadium was for a football game. That led us to talk about sneaking into events and how some places make it so easy provided that you walk in with conviction. Getting back to hockey, we looked ahead at tonight's NHL Awards that are set to take place at Bridgestone Arena and we took a few guesses as to who would win what and how proud we'll be of Connor McDavid when he inevitably expands his trophy case. Sticking with McDavid, we also touched on his engagement that happened over the weekend and took a few guesses as to who would be the best man at his wedding. Hosted on Acast.
