Sean Baligian is flying solo and coming clean in this episode of Off The Air—and no, it's not about the Lions (for once). It's a full-blown confession: he's in love with cauliflower crust pizza. From raving about low-carb lifestyles and Duroc ribs to debating the future of Detroit's sports franchises, Sean takes listeners on a wildly entertaining ride through food, fandom, and frustration. He dives into the Tigers' latest series win and shares his wishlist for the Pistons' second-round draft pick—though with a healthy dose of realism. He dishes on why the once-legendary "Meata" event went sideways (spoiler: sales got greedy), and teases a hockey-heavy What the Puck?! episode coming July 1.Also: Stanley Cup party stories (yes, including that dent), the chaos of NHL free agency, and why Connor McDavid's cryptic comments might shake up the entire league. If you've ever grilled a rib, hated on deep-dish, or worn socks with sandals—you'll feel right at home here.
In this episode, former NHL player Brendan Bell shares insights about his life post-hockey, reflections on his NHL career, and the whirlwind experience of the NHL draft. He discusses the importance of team dynamics, the impact of taxes on player decisions, and the attractiveness of Ottawa as a destination for players. The conversation also touches on Claude Giroux's contract situation, the potential of Dylan Cozens, and the future of Connor McDavid with the Edmonton Oilers. Finally, Brendan shares his expectations for the Ottawa Senators in the upcoming season.
The Buffalo Sabres completed the long-anticipated JJ Peterka trade, sending the German forward to the Utah Mammoth in exchange for Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan. It's the Wednesday leading into the NHL draft and start of free agency, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap what was another busy week in Edmonton. On today's podcast, I discussed the Evander Kane trade to the Canucks, wondered what the Viktor Arvidsson deal will ultimately look like, the Oilers' brass meeting with Connor McDavid's agent, and much more. While I think a lot of Oilers fans thought the team would trade Evander Kane to save some cap space this summer, I don't think many of us expected it to happen this soon, especially not to a division rival like the Vancouver Canucks. Yet, despite the seeming unlikelihood of the deal, Kane announced the trade via his Twitter account shortly after the NHL insiders started to hear rumblings that it was happening. Despite being a solid player, the Oilers desperately needed the cap space the move created, while the sentiment in Vancouver wasn't quite as optimistic. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about plane etiquette before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was quieter this week, but the messages were still all over the map. As always, the voicemails are always a fun way to wrap up the show and give everyone an opportunity to say their piece. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode, because having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.
We discuss news and updates from around the NHL including Evander Kane being traded to the Vancouver Canucks ahead of previewing the NHL draft with Elite Prospects' Cam Robinson. Plus, we discuss the HHOF class and the Blues jersey & logo update. Steve "Petey" Peters, former video coach for Rick Tocchet, also joins the show to discuss how Trevor Zegras will fit with Tocchet and the Philadelphia Flyers. 0:00 Welcome to What Chaos!6:45 Evander Kane to VAN15:10 Hertl trade rumors27:51 Cam Robinson joins!52:45 Petey joins!1:16:00 Bruins & Blues jerseys BUY OUR MERCH: https://store.allcitynetwork.com/collections/what-chaos JOIN OUR DISCORD: https://discord.gg/3brHQ2q5V2 Follow us on Twitter:https://twitter.com/WhatChaosShowhttps://twitter.com/DJ_Beanhttps://twitter.com/PeteBlackburnhttps://twitter.com/shawn_depaz VIVID SEATS is offering an exclusive discount on Playoff tickets!
