Anti-trigger warning: Doug and Strickland don't talk about politics AT ALL this episode! The US government is a dumpster fire, Elon Musk has given all of your SSNs to 3 kids with no security clearance who are not even old enough to drink, and the NFL has taken "End Racism" out of the end zones for the Super Bowl because...Well, I guess that idea could possibly be offensive to our President, who knew? Anyway, I wanted to give you an update on all that since the boys didn't today. Hold on, are you upset because the notes didn't give you any clue as to what Doug and Strick will be talking about today? The guys are back in full swing with another 1 hour + episode. I hope most of you are listening at 1.5 speed. Either that, or you're using it to put you to sleep at night. So Doug and Strickland are getting thoughtful now, trying to respect your precious time by keeping the episode under an hour? I don't believe it. Stop me if you've heard this one before...Maybe I should stay away from the religious jokes, I could scare away both the listeners Doug and Strick have left. And Sally is studying religion? Damn, I could get myself in a lot of trouble there. I'll just quit now before I get into more trouble. Not that I was going to write anything more, I've already given you more information about the episode than I usually do. our final Talkin' Ball before actual game week fires up with John Strickland in to give his thoughts on the team after seeing them in scrimmage. Doug's son Adam is sitting in with the guys today so I wanted to come up with a good clickbait-worthy title for him, but I'm not young and hip enough for that. I was originally thinking "D&S Get Some Extra A Today!" but since the "A" is Doug's son, I thought that might be inappropriate. Not that Doug and Strick aren't inappropriate enough already, but they're usually not when it comes to family and shit. Do you want some cool merch? Doug retiring? Yea, he's waiting for that check in the mail but there's probably nothing in it for me. I've been loyally writing show notes for these guys for years and what thanks do I get? Nada. I sometimes even listen to the whole episode! Not that often, but sometimes. Well, Jared did write/record a song for me, that's more than he's done for Doug or Strick. So I've got that going for me. John Strickland hangs around, and Matt Anderson of Late Night Gamecock fame is in close wrap The Show with Phil. They dive into the defense deeper, and create some expectations with the discussion as John is high on them heading into the season. They turn their attention to the position groups with the most question marks, and it's pretty much consensus. They ask why more isn't being made of this tight end room? Entrepreneur? I hardly know her! This week your girls are discussing whether or not THE DUKE GETS DESPERATE by DIANA QUINN can stand on business. Raya just wanted to meet a penpal. Strick just wanted to own his Ducal castle. Instead, they end up in bed together - business-style! And also the other way. While Raya tries to get over the betrayal of her brother forcing her out of the business she helped build back in New York, The Duke of Strickland is trying to get over the betrayal of his father willing the family castle to her cousin (who then died mysteriously and willed it to Raya). But you know what they say, the best way to get over one capitalist venture is to get under another. But when the worlds of tourism, real estate, and The Nobility collide, sparks might fly. Can one appreciate a novel that isn't meant for them, politically? What if the politics are like thiiiiis close? Is a murder plot really necessary? Get the permits and a good respirator. We're going to take this one down to the studs.
Between the two of them I'm guessing Doug and Strick have broken most of the 10 commandments at some point. Hell, who am I kidding, Strick probably broke half of them on his own in the last week.
