Banafsheh Sayyad is a master sacred dancer and visionary spiritual embodiment teacher whose forthcoming book, Dance of Oneness (Sounds True, March 2026), offers a revolutionary invitation to embody love through conscious movement. Drawing from her signature Dance of Oneness modality, a Divine Feminine lineage that fuses Taoist wisdom and the mystical traditions with flamenco, Tai Chi, Persian dance, and Sufi whirling, Banafsheh guides readers to awaken their light body, dissolve constriction, and rediscovery vitality and purpose. Dance of Oneness traces Banafsheh's own awakening, from her exile in Iran to her emergence as a world-renown artist and teacher and invites readers to live as channels of love and light, healing both self and planet. Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as a "mesmerizing foray into the body as a trance mechanism," her work has inspired thousands worldwide at centers such as Esalen, Kripalu, Omega, and Hollyhock, and through her acclaimed non-profit company, NAMAH, and her film "In the Fire of Grace", co-created with Andrew Harvey. Send us a textShiva: Both Severe and TenderIn this episode, we explore Baba's profound discourse “Shiva – Both Severe and Tender,” which reveals how Shiva reshaped early human civilization. We look at how Shiva ended clan-based divisions, uplifted women, introduced marriage, and inspired unity across Aryan, non-Aryan, and Mongolian communities. We also discuss His revolutionary contributions to music, dance, and phonetics, and His creation of Shaeva Dharma — a universal, non-ritualistic spiritual path beyond all narrow sentiments. Above all, we reflect on Shiva's unique blend of firmness in principle and deep tenderness in personal conduct, a combination that transformed society and continues to inspire humanity today.

Om Namah Shivaya bedeutet also Ehrerbietung an Shiva. Aber was bedeutet Shiva? Sri Swami Satchidananda, Integral Yoga founder, teaches the pronunciation of the Sanskrit slokas used in daily pūjā, a service of devotion at Chidambaram (the Mahasamadhi Shrine of Sri Swamiji). The pūjā is offered to the Sivalingam (according to Tamil Saiva tradition, Sri Swamiji's root tradition). In Sanskrit, Siva means “auspiciousness,” and lingam means “sign” or “symbol.” The Sivalingam symbolizes the Absolute God, the nameless and formless One. The slokas are broken into syllables to help one learn to pronounce each portion and then Sri Swamiji chants the entire line. Find the text here:
