THIS IS A spontaneous episode covering the recent horrific massacre of Hindus in Pahalgam, Kashmir. What we call as the Kashmir “problem” is a polite way of describing a civilisational problem. It is a festering wound created by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. In this episode, I recount the brilliant article written more than 30 years ago by Sita Ram Goel, one of the greatest intellectual warriors of Sanatana Dharma. In it, Sri Goel gives not only a historical perspective to the Kashmir issue but links it to the failure on the part of the "secular" governments since Independence. In this connection, it is pertinent to remember current the fate of the Hindus in Muslim-majority Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is the same fate that Hindus in Kashmir are also suffering in Kashmir since the last thirty years. In fact, the civilisational problem in J&K is one of Hindu astitva and asmita.Do tune into this powerful episode! “Our dear friend Yashoda, your son sometimes comes to our houses before the milking of the cows and releases the calves, and when the master of the house becomes angry, your son merely smiles. Sometimes He devises some process by which He steals palatable curd, butter and milk, which He then eats and drinks. When the monkeys assemble, He divides it with them, and when the monkeys have their bellies so full that they won't take more, He breaks the pots. Sometimes, if He gets no opportunity to steal butter or milk from a house, He will be angry at the householders, and for His revenge He will agitate the small children by pinching them. Then, when the children begin crying, Krishna will go away.” (Shrimad Bhagavatam, 10.8.29)

Unitasking, using a planner, utilizing our time effectively, and engaging in sadhana can help us become and remain balanced. These discourses are from our Parenting Culture community, a space for seekers striving to be better in their caregiving responsibilities through the practice of self-development. By starting to practice shama (quieting the mind) and accepting that creation is inherently imperfect, we are able to interact with the world around us in a much smoother, less judgemental way. THE LAST TWO DECADES have been witness to the near-total destruction of Hindus weddings. From being a highly sacred ceremony, they have become sponsored events and vulgar exhibition of wealth. The Hindu community had braved and survived thousands of storms precisely because it was rooted in the Gruhasthashrama Dharma or the Hindu family. The advent of contemporary weddings, where even the notion of sanctity is absent, does not bode well. Watch the full video to understand the extent of this destruction. This is a detailed analysis of the tragic incident concerning the deceased Atul Subash and the roots of the issue. The roots go all the way back to the destruction of the Hindu family system by passing a series of legislations dating back to the 1950s known as the Hindu Code Bill. Ever since, there has been a continuous devaluation and erosion of the Hindu family and consequently, the Hindu society has been broken perhaps irreparably.Arguably, the most draconian legislation that accelerated this break up of the Hindu society is the dreaded Section 498A. This law can be more properly called The Revenge of Shurpanakha. This is an extremely worrisome, serious and grave situation that will have even more far-reaching consequences.
