I was once driving with a friend of mine, who tends to get a little irritated when driving if somebody doesn't drive properly. Merging onto the freeway, he noticed that somebody didn't let him on, and I could tell that urge welled up in his chest and he started accelerating. And then I, the passenger, said the mantra, "We forgive you." As soon as I said that, it kind of broke that spell of that rush of anger that he had, and a second later, he looked over and said, "How do you do that?" To this day, he remembers that incident. It was at least 15 years ago, and whenever we get together, not all the time, but he will bring it up from time to time. He says, "I remember that time when you said when you uttered that mantra," because it's utterly contrary to what people often feel is the right thing to do. The mode of passion colors us. Incidentally, the mode of passion is the color red, appropriately, like when you "see red." It's practically literal, and it's also symbolic of the mode of passion that we see red. But we can preempt it if we are ready to forgive and let it go. And when we talk about forgiveness, forgiveness isn't condoning what anybody else does, but it's releasing ourselves from the situation so that we're not consumed by it, because rajas, that middle mode, it burns like fire, and fire can burn everything to ashes once it starts. Who knows how far it can go? It can burn down everything in your life. So learn to let it go instantaneously by having this mantra ready to go. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Go For Steadiness In Chanting First, Not Taste | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 22 Aug 2025

Following the advice of Rūpa Goswāmī and Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad-gītā, we can understand that we have to be consistent in chanting to begin with. We must use our intelligence. Kṛṣṇa says, "Conquer the lower self by the intelligence." So, when we're clear that this is medicinal and we have to trust that the doctor is qualified, then we can practice chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa for consistency. And here are just a few points. One is being professional. Professionals show up no matter what, not when they feel like it; otherwise, that person will be fired. So, for your japa and practice of japa, go for steadiness, not taste. Be very, very patient over the years to show up for your japa based on your intelligence and practice a lot. Those who learn to play the mṛdaṅga, who mess around, who don't take a teacher, who don't practice the rudiments, end up playing a sloppy mridanga, or concocting. I mean, if they're playing devotionally, there's no harm in it, but they end up slapping it in weird ways that disturbs the kīrtana rather than help it move along. And if we don't practice carefully—and practice means correct practice—and that means practicing again and again, even if out of 16 rounds, we can only hear one mantra, at least you hear one mantra. That can change everything. But we have to be patient. We have to practice a lot and keep showing up again and again. And we have to have determination of Rukmiṇī Devī. As I mentioned yesterday, she told Kṛṣṇa (SB 10.52.44), "yasyāṅghri-paṅkaja-rajaḥ-snapanaṁ mahānto vāñchanty umā-patir ivātma-tamo-'pahatyai yarhy ambujākṣa na labheya bhavat-prasādaṁ jahyām asūn vrata-kṛśān śata-janmabhiḥ syāt" I'm prepared to do this for hundreds of lifetimes if that's required." That is sheer determination. That's sadhana bhakti. It's not, "I'm not getting enough juice. I don't feel the bhāva. Therefore, this must not work. I quit. I'll go scroll on the internet instead." Don't do that. Be very professional. Show up for your japa. Be determined. If you don't get anything, then be prepared to give up this body and start over again in the next life and do it again. That's what Rukmiṇī says. She said, "If I can't have you as my husband in this life, I'll perform such severe austerities that I'll give up my body. In my next life, I'll do it again until you consent that you're going to marry me." So we have to be like that in sādhana-bhakti. Sādhana-bhakti is not messing around. It's very serious. So the place to be really serious is with our japa. Come as a pro. Do your work, bring your lunch box, and stay for the long term. And if you do that over many, many lifetimes, then maybe hear one mantra and realize that Kṛṣṇa and his name are not different. If we have that, then we have a joyful life dedicated to chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------

The Universe is Woven Together by Sound | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 14 Sep 2025

Physicists have theories about the substance of the universe and describe it as wave-like. The fabric of the universe, so to speak, is woven together with threads of vibration, vibrational threads. Some have even described it as a kind of symphony, the whole universe, because it's woven together by sound, and matter is extremely fluid. It can bend, it can stretch, it can morph into something else, much like music. One can introduce variations to it, and there are modulations. So matter is like that also. In the Bhāgavatam, Kṛṣṇa describes, or Kapiladev describes, how the universe comes from sound as the first element. And from sound, the various other elements emerge and the various patterns in matter are created by various kinds of sounds, coming back to the point that Prabhupāda makes. Acts of creation in this world are dependent on the kinds of sound vibration that we make, or to be more specific, what we say and what we listen to. And as I've mentioned in previous discussions, quoting from the Vedānta-sūtra, the last verse, Anāvṛttiḥ śabdāt, which means everything comes from sound. There are different interpretations of that sūtra, but other ones say that you can become enlightened by sound, or uncovered, Anāvṛtti, by sound, śabdāt. So Prabhupāda mentions how all paraphernalia is available to us. If you want to organize it in a certain way, then you go figure out what kinds of things to listen to and what kinds of things to say. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In the Bhagavad-Gītā, Kṛṣṇa describes, bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati (BG 5.29). He said, "If you want śānti, what is śānti? Peace. If you want to feel peaceful, which is impossible in this world, and especially in Silicon Valley, then there are three things that you can come to understand which will allow you that peace you are looking for." The first one is that if you want the love that you're seeking in this world to be fully reciprocated, then give your heart to The Personality of Godhead. That's what it bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ means many people you give your love to can't give it back, true or false? But Kṛṣṇa can give unlimited love back. Whatever we give Him, even the tiniest gesture, if you just one day, unsophisticated, without any context, you just had an urge to offer God a little flower or leaf that you found, and you just offered it in a simple way—no ritual involved, just from the heart—He will accept it. That's one of the main themes of the Bhagavad-Gītā. If you're sincere and you try to offer something, then Kṛṣṇa will accept it, and He'll reciprocate directly with you, and He is only waiting for that. That is what bhakti means, "I understand that I'm looking for love in all the wrong places. I'm just trying to give my affection to those who can't fully reciprocate it." Incidentally, when we develop this sense of loving Kṛṣṇa, then we're able to more fully love everyone. Because our capacity for love for individual entities separated from Kṛṣṇa is limited. We may love them, and then we may hate them. But there's a deeper level of love when we understand that everybody's part of Kṛṣṇa: every animal, every plant, even some of the 52 cousins that we have that we don't like at all. We even love them because we know they're part of Kṛṣṇa. It's a different level of love. ----------------------------------------------------------- To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

It's mentioned in the Bhāgavatam. Kṛṣṇa says to Uddhava, "Sometimes sādhus live by the Gaṅgā, but then they take it for granted because it's in their backyard. And then they say, 'I'll go somewhere else to take a bath.'" So one has to study the mantra and remember how one is fortunate, and also stay in a humble state of mind. Be a beginner. Start over every day. Don't think, "I know this. I've got this. I've done this before." Instead, start over. "I'm helpless. I don't know anything." And that gives us a way to reverentially approach the process of chanting Haré Kṛṣṇa, which is the same as being in Kṛṣṇa's presence and invoking his presence. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In tamas, we're helpless. If you've ever felt helpless—for instance, if you have some addiction and you can't give up, or you feel so depressed that you can't do anything—this is the modality of tamas. Above tamas comes rajas. Rajas is the modality of intense activity. That is, we are creative. In rajas however, the setback is that no matter what we get, it's not enough, because we remain in that active and creative mode. We attain something, we create something, but it has to become more. We may attain a position—for instance, you may become a city council member, but then think, "Well, that's nothing. I want to be the mayor." When you become mayor, you may think, "Well, why don't I become governor?" And after becoming governor etc etc. There's never an endpoint. In modern parlance, it's called the hedonic treadmill; that is, no matter what I get, it's not enough. And there are plenty of songs and poems from ancient times and modern times expressing the experience of being in rajas and tamas. For instance, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" and many, many more, like "Too Much Is Not Enough," etc. And then there's the highest of the modalities in this world, called sattva. Sattva is the modality of clarity, where we see ourselves beyond the body. Gone is the drive to attain something, because we realize we already are something. We are something that's so amazing. And as Kṛṣṇa describes in the Bhagavad Gītā, when you see yourself beyond the body, you realize that this is the most amazing thing: the soul itself. Kṛṣṇa says 'āścaryavat', he calls it amazing, 'āścaryavat.' Some see it as amazing, some hear of it as amazing. And when you analyze who you really are, you examine your consciousness, or you become introspective, then you don't feel that you have to attain anything necessarily, because you already are something, and you're here right now, and you feel tuṣṭa, or satisfaction in the self. This is sattva. But there's a modality beyond sattva, which is called śuddha-sattva, which is a completely transcendental realm—transcendental to the modes—meaning you've gone beyond any of the modalities of the material world. And this is pure consciousness. So the perfection of the teachings of Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is to come to that pure consciousness. There's niyama-āgraha and niyama-agraha. Niyama-āgraha means to do something, but to not be aware that you're doing it actually, you're just doing it by rote. And the other one, niyama-agraha, means to avoid doing it altogether. Finding that balance is the perfection of practice. In that, I'm doing it, but I'm also aware that I'm doing it, and I'm doing it with deliberation, as that's when the chanting becomes really powerful. So Haridas Thakur in the Harinam Chintamani said you should make whatever arrangements you have to on a daily basis in order to be aware that you are chanting and to be very deliberate about it. And if you find yourself falling into a rut—that either I'm not doing it or I'm doing it, but I'm not deliberately doing it—then adjust. Move your environment around, get new association, do something. And that's why we have these japa circles as a kind of booster so that when we come together, it gives us more awareness that we're chanting and the importance of chanting, and so forth. Hopefully, it carries forward. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

You can add this to your portfolio. "I was there. I chanted Hare Kṛṣṇa. I got up early, I dropped what I was doing, and I sat and chanted with the devotees, gave full attention to The Holy Name." This some people don't achieve after millions and millions of lifetimes, but all of you have this conviction: 'Vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti,' Vasudev is everything. You also have śraddhā, which means, "śraddhā-śabde-viśvāsa sudṛḍha niścaya, kṛṣṇe bhakti kaile sarva-karma kṛta haya" (CC Madhya 22.62). That if I chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and I give my full attention to the holy name, then everything else will be perfectly executed in my life. Nothing else is needed. "Vedeṣu yajñeṣu tapaḥsu caiva, dāneṣu yat puṇya-phalaṁ pradiṣṭam, atyeti tat sarvam idaṁ viditvā, yogī paraṁ sthānam upaiti cādyam" (BG 8.28). That is Kṛṣṇa, who assures us at the end of the eighth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, that if you just give yourself to Kṛṣṇa and the process of devotional service, you achieve the results of everything else you're trying to achieve in your life. This is why you're here. This is very deep. So this is no small accomplishment to be able to sit and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Most people can't do it. The mind is raging, there's problems to solve. "I feel depressed, I feel attracted to something else." But the fact that you show up means that you have evolved spiritually over many, many lifetimes to come to this position. So take advantage of it, that you know this, and that you know that all the Vedas are pointing to one thing—the holy name. And that is by taking part every day in chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. Finishing 16 rounds, you're following the instructions of the Ācārya, which means you're safe. So stay safe. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

I was speaking with some of the devotees who noticed the same thing, just by chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa. We associate with Kṛṣṇa. We are in Kṛṣṇa's immediate proximity in a very special way, through the avatār of the holy name. And as the Bhāgavatam says, just by such proximity, we develop all of Kṛṣṇa's qualities. So the most advantageous of all practices is to stay in Kṛṣṇa's proximity. Education means that people have to come to some mature knowledge and awareness of what's right and wrong and what the important values in life are. It's not just about vocation, but the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam goes right to the point of the real values in life, how to attain them, and why it's important to act in a certain way. That's because there are consequences to everything that we do, and if we take up the simple, direct processes mentioned in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam for practicing devotion to God in practical ways, then we'll not only be happy, but we'll also be able to make other people happy. So the propagation of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is the greatest welfare activity, according to those in the line of the teachings of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. That's what the sages mention, or asked at Naimiṣāraṇya: "How to do the greatest good for the most people? How to benefit the soul?" And the answer was to show people how to perform devotional service to God, so that it's continuous and it is in a mood of service, not expectant of receiving something in return. So we have inherited that. Therefore, in ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), the first order of the day is a Śrīmad Bhāgavatam class. All around the world people come together; they'll sit in assembly and they'll hear from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. If you read one verse a day, you'll finish the whole book in 50 years. But you can also take it home and have it in your house, and you can read more if you want. I have noticed that any environment can be uplifted by reading Śrīmad Bhāgavatam aloud. It seems as if, oftentimes, there's no solution to the problems that face us. Have you ever felt like that? It happens a lot. There are things that come up, and you think, "How am I going to get out of this one?" And the solution is to raise one's consciousness. And how might one do that? This section of something I have been writing lately, has to do with Prabhupāda's statement about how chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa is forced meditation; I'm just interpreting that. I've included some other śāstra, which I'll just read to you briefly. In other words, it's a brief segment excerpt. At Nectar of Instruction, verse three. In his purport, Śrīla Prabhupāda tells how powerful such a prayer can be. "Devotional service," Prabhupāda writes, "is so pure and perfect that once having begun, one is forcibly dragged to ultimate success." In other words, for those who pray for Kṛṣṇa's help, Kṛṣṇa takes personal care and pulls them in the right direction. Anugraha, often translated as mercy, literally means "to grab and pull." Chanting japa invites Kṛṣṇa to grab and pull us to him. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, in his last bhajan in Śaraṇāgati, tells how the Holy Name abducts him, taking him directly to Kṛṣṇa. "The Holy Name is the bud of the flower of divine love, and it is the very abode of astonishing mellows. Such is the power he manifests that when his holy name starts to blossom a little further, it then reveals his own divine form and qualities. Thus my heart is abducted and taken directly to Kṛṣṇa. Blossoming fully, the flower of the holy name takes me to Vraj and reveals to me his own love dalliance. This name gives to me my own eternal spiritual body, keeps me right by Kṛṣṇa's side, and completely destroys everything related to this immortal frame of mine." Abduct means "the action of taking someone away by force." Kṛṣṇa, by his supreme powers, personally escorts those who chant his divine name back to his supreme abode. Kṛṣṇa's name is so kind that he helps even those who accidentally chant His names, what to speak of those who chant with love? As Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 11.2.55, The Yogendras say the Supreme Personality of God is so kind to the conditioned souls that if they call upon him by speaking his holy name, even unintentionally or unwillingly, the Lord is inclined to destroy innumerable sinful reactions in their hearts. https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/11/2/55 ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

The sociologist Michels wrote about the "iron laws of oligarchy." Those, he said, who take up a noble cause naturally tend to protect their position at the cost of the noble cause over time. And that's why political movements that are well-intentioned, people who take office, who may be well-intentioned—although it's probably hard to find one these days—tend to then change the way they see their job and try to consolidate power more and more rather than do their work. There's no replacement for maturity and enlightenment. We can't manage it out of the system. Devotees have to be detached. vāsudēve bhagavati bhakti-yogaḥ prayōjitaḥ janayaty āśu vairāgyaṁ jñānaṁ ca yad ahaitukam (SB 1.2.7) When you practice devotional service, you'll naturally get a sense of detachment and knowledge, which will make you more flexible and so forth. My experience in being part of a community is that management means solving problems. Problems come from people, personal interaction. If I accept that that's the norm, even amongst devotees, then I'm better equipped to face it and deal with it. The best way to deal with it, I've found, is patiently and through meticulous conversation. As Stephen Covey wrote in his book, The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, "first seek to understand." It's easy enough to take a position and then say, "I want to protect my position." In fact, ISKCON Resolve, when they answer the phone, they say, "ISKCON Resolve. Get over it." I've used them a number of times, but I also talked to them deeply about what the methodologies are, what is behind all this. They said, "Try to understand people's circumstances, what's beneath the surface." And what I find to be solidifying in a community is the act of taking the time. Even in the most trying circumstances—I'm conflict-avoidant, it's my nature, but I have to face these issues and bring the parties together and then talk about it. I find that when there's the light of awareness through communication, then oftentimes we can come to an enlightened understanding together. And that's the greatest victory we can have in our communities. Talk about "boiling the milk"—really learning how to get along with one another, despite the fact that we come from different cultures and have different ways of seeing things, different gurus, and this and that. When we're able to come together and have a common understanding and appreciate one another's point of view and, for the sake of the higher good of the mission, we decide to cooperate one way or another—one of those is worth, I don't know, what do I want to compare it to? It's invaluable. And that's what really makes a community strong, is taking the time to do that. So the only remedy I've seen is to talk about it. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant

'Yas tu sarvāṇi bhūtāny ātmany evānupaśyati sarva-bhūteṣu cātmānaṁ tato na vijugupsate.' This is Śrī Īśopaniṣad (Mantra 6). Anupaśyati, as Prabhupāda explains in his purport, means that you should systematically see all living beings as parts and parcels of the Lord. And 'na vijugupsate' means, if you have that vision, that systematic vision, it doesn't mean that you suddenly try to imitate the uttama-adhikārī. But what Prabhupāda says is you should follow in the footsteps -anupaśyati, systematically see that there's a soul within everybody. Then na vijugupsate means that you won't hate anybody or any being, because you're not repulsed or attracted by their body, because you're seeing their spirit soul. So that's our directive. When we say to somebody, "You look spiritual," we mean it. Because you look at them and you see there's consciousness coming through their eyes, and they're animated. How is that? It's because there's a soul in the body. That soul's a part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. What's more, there is Supersoul, you can offer obeisances. Kṛṣṇa says to Uddhava in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, to a dog, because you realize Kṛṣṇa is within the heart of the dog, and therefore you offer obeisances. Now that's śāstra, and that's how we're enjoined to see others. https://vedabase.io/en/library/iso/6 ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Next is an excerpt from something that Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākur wrote about chanting the Holy Name of the Lord. It's entitled "Don't artificially meditate on the form of the Lord." Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta: I am overjoyed to hear that your enthusiasm for chanting is increasing. As our contaminations are removed by chanting, the Lord's form, qualities, and pastimes will be revealed to us in the Holy Name. There's no point in making a separate effort to artificially remember the Lord's form, qualities, and pastimes. The Lord and His name are one and the same. This will be understood clearly when the coverings in your heart are removed by chanting without offenses. You will personally realize that all perfection comes from the Holy Name. Through chanting, the distinction that exists between the self and the gross and subtle bodies is gradually effaced, and one realizes one's own spiritual form. Once aware of the spiritual body, as one continues to chant, one sees the transcendental nature of the Lord's form. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

We have books that have changed the world. We can name many others, but the fact is, books have been extant in human society for many years. When people decided to write, and they have been for generations—they would find any surface they could write on. In India, the chosen surface was palm leaves. Painstakingly, they would copy things onto these palm leaves using a stylus; they'd have to expose it to the sun so you get that darkened area. Isn't that beautiful handwriting? And how long would it take you to copy the Bhagavad Gita by hand? Audience: A year! That would take a while to generate enough to try to win the marathon for book distribution. So other people realized, as technology advanced, that books could be printed. The first thing was the Gutenberg Press. That's not it. There was a Gutenberg Press. A man named Gutenberg invented it to spread the Bible. You can trace Christianity and see how it expanded through the distribution of the printed book. Then came other printing presses. This one is a replica. It's a picture of the kind of printing press that Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur brought to Calcutta and kept running 24/7, along with two others. They had them lined up near the altar because he kept them near the altar to show that they were also Deities. Anybody here from Ohio? One, two. You know where these printing presses came from? Ohio is a good export state. These printing presses came from Ohio. He shipped them all the way to India. And Prabhupada had expressed to us, when he started his mission, that he was following the instruction of his spiritual master, whom he asked several times for direction about what kind of service he would like him to do. I'm wearing a wristband right now. It says, "If you ever get money, print books." Who said that? Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur. And where did he say it to our founder-acharya? At Radha Kund! At that sacred place of Radha Kund, our Prabhupada had asked Srila Bhakti Siddhanta, "What can I do?" And Srila Bhakti Siddhanta said that, "I've got this big temple, the Bhagbazar marble temple, and I wish now that I could take the marble from that temple, sell it, and print some books." Then he said, "If you ever get money, print books." Prabhupada said, "I took this from his mouth that he was very fond of books." So when he began his campaign, he extended that same mood to all of us, and it remains. Now, I'm going to teach you a few points that have come by Krishna's mercy to the minds and hearts of devotees who have been distributing books for many years that will save you a lot of time and grief. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality

The essence of these principles is to take one's chanting seriously, to perform it attentively, and finally, to remember why one is doing it. Prabhupāda used to go on morning walks, so it's an enlivening practice. Don't you think? The sun is coming up? Feel that the whole world you can see revealed is Kṛṣṇa's energies. It's very sweet. Shall we mosey back? I wanted to show you something along the way. There is a shop on the corner; they have a little neon sign in the window. In Toronto, I noticed when we were there during the pandemic a couple of years ago that a lot of people had these little neon purple hearts in their windows, about this big. And I traced it out and found out where they were made. It was a movement to honor the first responders during the pandemic and also to give some donations. I found the company that makes them, so we're working on a little design. We're looking at a few designs to make a small neon thing, and when somebody gets a Bhāgavatam set, we'll give them one of those things. It's not that expensive; they could plug it in and put it in their window. Then, wherever we go, we can look and see if they have a Bhāgavatam set. It would be like one of those shelters during a tsunami or anything. If anybody needs to, they can knock on the door and say, “Could you just read me some Bhāgavatam?” We want to make it a movement so it goes all over the world. We will see who has Bhāgavatam, and people will catch on that they should keep a Bhāgavatam in their house. That way, we could flood the world with Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Interview with Stephen G. Roman, President & CEO of Global Atomic Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/global-atomic-tsxglo-advancing-uranium-production-in-niger-6089Recording date: 4th September 2025Global Atomic Corporation presents a compelling uranium investment opportunity at the intersection of critical supply shortages and surging demand from both traditional nuclear power and emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company's flagship Dasa project in Niger represents Africa's highest-grade uranium deposit, positioned to address America's severe uranium supply deficit of 45-46 million pounds annually. The Dasa project's scale cannot be overstated. CEO Stephen Roman emphasizes that the deposit will produce as much as every uranium mine combined in the US, highlighting its strategic importance to American energy security. With US utilities currently burning 50 million pounds a year while domestic production reaches only four or five million pounds a year when fully ramped, Dasa directly addresses this critical supply gap.The project benefits from exceptional market timing. Microsoft's recent joining of the World Nuclear Association exemplifies the sector's transformation, as Roman notes: "Tech now is getting involved with nuclear because they know that's the only way to power data centers and their development." This new demand from AI and data center infrastructure compounds existing supply constraints in an already undersupplied uranium market.Global Atomic has achieved significant progress on long-awaited financing, securing term sheets from both the US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and an Eastern joint venture partner. The company's preference for the DFC arrangement has received substantial political backing under the Trump administration, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio now chairing the DFC and businessman Benjamin Black as CEO.Roman confirms the project has been basically blessed by the White House, the State Department and various others in the administration, representing a dramatic shift in US government support. This backing extends beyond rhetoric, with America recently sending delegations to the Sahel region to build relationships and address security concerns, directly benefiting projects like Dasa.Despite financing delays, construction continues with 700 workers on-site and earthworks nearing completion by November 2025. The project has advanced to the third of five mining levels, with civil construction now underway. Production is scheduled for Q1 2027, placing Global Atomic among the rare near-term uranium producers in an undersupplied market. The company has already invested approximately $250 million, satisfying the DFC's 40% capital contribution requirement for their 60% loan facility. Current financing needs of $250-270 million have been reduced due to this prior investment, making the project more manageable for potential partners.Global Atomic has secured substantial revenue certainty through US utility offtake contracts representing 90% of production. This customer concentration supports both cash flow predictability and US strategic interests in uranium supply security. The investment opportunity is amplified by Niger's improved regulatory environment, with the new mineral code reducing royalties from 12% to 7% while maintaining favorable overall terms. The company's 97-98% local workforce employment strengthens government relations during regional political transitions. With share prices declining from $5 to $0.50 during geopolitical instability, patient investors may find significant value in a strategic asset approaching production in an fundamentally undersupplied uranium market driven by both traditional nuclear demand and emerging AI infrastructure requirements.View Global Atomic's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/global-atomic-corpSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

A godbrother and friend asked me, as we sat down together for lunch one day at Govardhan Ashram. "Yes, please," I replied. He leaned toward me, placing his left hand on the floor. "Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead," he continued, 'is not only all-powerful, but he's also all-merciful." He went on, 'If he were all-powerful but not all-merciful, we'd be in trouble. And if he were all-merciful but not all-powerful, then what could he do for us?' His point was that Krishna is all-good. He wants to help us in every way, and he is the one person who can help us. "Then why isn't my life better than it is?" people often ask. Srila Prabhupada explains, 'The sun is equal toward all, and one simply has to take advantage of it. The sunshine is available, but if we close our doors and want to keep ourselves in darkness, that is our decision. Similarly, Krishna is everywhere. Krishna is for everyone, and Krishna is ready to accept us as soon as we surrender," Prabhupada wrote, 'But how can I surrender? How may I take advantage of the sunshine, and exactly what's in it for me?' are often the next questions. The answer is that chanting your daily 16 rounds of japa places you directly in the sunshine of Krishna's grace. And here is a summary list of what's in it for those who do, and it's based on the verse from the Padma Purana. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

What you are really asking is, how do you know if it's Krishna's plan or if you are doing something wrong? So that you may not know immediately. As Radhika Raman pointed out in his class about prayers, he said that when Hiraṇyakaśipu was trying to kill Prahlāda, one of the ways he tried to do that was to throw him over a cliff. He said, “Kṛṣṇa caught him at the bottom, not at the top.” And in a similar way, as we go through various situations in our life, we wonder whether they are providential, they are an intervention by God, or because I messed up somehow. At first, we may not know. We may have to have faith that Kṛṣṇa will catch us at the bottom. But that's why we have 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo,' when one is able to position oneself in such a way as to accept whatever comes. This is a categorical statement: 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam.' Just accept categorically that whatever is happening is by Kṛṣṇa's arrangement. And then you may come to know, as Prabhupāda in his lecture on Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākur's disappearance day, he did several, but in one of them, he's talking about the various setbacks he had in trying to follow his spiritual master, and then he's pointing out, “But look, this is what it brought me to.” And he had a series of statements prefaced by, “Who knew? Who knew that my coming to America would result in this? Who knew?” And Prabhupāda had pointed out in his lecture that he had reversals. He lost his business, he was gored by a cow, he was kicked out of his league of devotees, and so forth. He was thinking back, “Who knew? Who knew? Who knew what? This was Kṛṣṇa's plan.” So it's difficult when these things come up, and we have to fortify ourselves by hearing śāstra and also take the shelter of godbrothers.I was once in managing a project.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

To the point of what about giving up one's home, going to the forest, and fasting most of the time? The answer is the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra doesn't require these. And the answer is in Prabhupāda's letter, where he uses the phrase "forced meditation." Force means power, and "forced" means pushed by a power greater than oneself. The chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa is infused with Kṛṣṇa's unlimited powers. What's more, when chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa with attention, Kṛṣṇa, the all-powerful, pushes us along. Consider how when someone forces us to do something, that person is more powerful than we are. When someone forces us to do something, we are not doing it voluntarily. For example, a mother may force her child to go to school. Consider the phrase, "Clyde's mother forced him to go to his first day of school, as he was at first unwilling." Clyde's mother, in this sense, is more powerful than Clyde, and she makes him go to school for his own good. When we chant the mahāmantra, we invite Kṛṣṇa to push us forward on the spiritual path, even if we are unwilling. Those who chant japa avail themselves of Kṛṣṇa's power. The Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra is a prayer requesting The Lord to engage us in His spiritual service. Getting out of the material world, the world regulated by Māyā Devī, is not easy. We are stuck, not just in her orbit, but we are imprisoned in her world. Devī-dhām—a place of torture—that is impossible to escape. Who will intervene on our behalf? Who will save us? Kṛṣṇa will. But more precisely, Kṛṣṇa's names have appeared as our liberator. Our chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, therefore, is our cry for Kṛṣṇa's help, recognizing that he is not only more powerful than we are but he is also the master of Māyā Devī. What's more, he knows better than we what is good for us. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

This worship of the spiritual master, anything we do here, we can do every day and then think, “Okay, I'm done. Now I go to the next thing—when's prasādam?” But if we can enter into it with, first of all siddhanta, siddhānta baliyā citte nā kara alasa ihā ha-ite kṛṣṇe lāge sudṛḍha mānasa' (CC Adi 2.117)—means that we should understand precisely why we are doing it, especially we're worshiping the guru here, there, and everywhere so we should understand what guru-tattva means. It's not sentimentality. It is Kṛṣṇa's way of interacting with us—one of the many ways that He reaches out to us. And if we understand that, then our minds become very fixed in that process. Otherwise, our minds have to take dictation from somewhere else. That is: “I will compromise. I will maybe do halfway devotional service. Why get so fanatical? I should just be a little in touch.” But that doesn't last long, because gradually we become more on the side of the senses, the material world, and so forth. So we have a few opportunities in this lifetime—for Guru Pūjā, for celebrating Janmāṣṭamī, Rādhāṣṭamī—very few. If you count them up on a clicker, you'll see there's a finite number we get a chance. So if we take advantage while we're there—to be in full knowledge while we're doing these things, and be focused on what it means to us—and also follow the guru-paramparā, what we are getting through our guru-varga… Be careful. Follow it strictly. Otherwise, it becomes some boring ritual for anyone, and we can forget how fortunate we are. And also what a precarious situation we are in too. We can lose the opportunity at any moment. So we should be attentive. In the context of bhakti, we see in the Sixth Canto of the Bhagavatam and elsewhere, as one of the ācāryas has mentioned, this principle of accumulation of bhakti sukṛti in circumstances where one is not fully aware of what one is doing. For instance, one may hear the chanting of The Hare Krishna mahāmantra. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī very clearly says, "yad-ābhāso ‘py udyan kavalita-bhava-dhvānta-vibhavo dṛśaḿ tattvāndhānām api diśati bhakti-praṇayinīm" (Nāmāṣṭakam, verse 3). And that is, if you hear, even those who are in ignorance of what the Holy Name is, or why people are chanting The Holy Name. Did you see anybody like that last night? How many, as a percentage, had no idea what was going on? In other words, they knew something was happening. They just didn't know what it was. So what percentage? 95%? So those people are called by Rūpa Gosvāmī --"tattvāndhānām." They don't know tattva. They have no idea of what that is. But Hare Krishna is directly the Lord, and therefore there is a dawning of bhakti in their heart that comes from the ābhāsa—just the indirect rays of The Holy Name. And such people then can see or experience for themselves in their hearts the truth of bhakti, an amazing statement in and of itself. As is mentioned in the Sixth Canto of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam in the section of Ajāmila, in Prabhupāda's purport, he said, "Such encounters are recorded and counted." And so there's a little book, and it goes in the book. And Prabhupāda puts it and gives a different metaphor. He said, "Every living being has a bank account in his or her heart, and every time you come in contact with Krishna, the devotees, then there's a deposit." Of course, we have to be careful, because we may think that it means it doesn't matter how we disseminate Krishna consciousness; it's some sort of inoculation by force. Because there is a way in which, if we are artful and gentle in the ways that we present Krishna consciousness and teach according to people's cultural and psycho-physiological natures, then their hearts will be more open to hearing and taking in, and they'll gain more sukṛti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Prabhupāda said that you should continue chanting to become one-minded with the mantra. See, when you don't perceive anything else except the mantra, then you're happy. The mind's always darting here and there and considering, like, 'What's going to happen?' Nothing, because you're right here, always right now. It's just a movie that's playing. So when we can take shelter of the holy name and actually be one-minded, and we're only there with the holy name, which is Kṛṣṇa, we're there with Kṛṣṇa, then we're satisfied. So we have to be with it until the end. And effort means that we have free will. We have to use our energy to do something, to lift up, to try. It's not that the rope comes down, and we say, 'Thanks for the rope, but come down here and tie it around my hand. Otherwise, I'm not going to do it.' We have to take some effort. That's in the story of Yaśodā tying Kṛṣṇa. This is two inches, right? And the one inch, Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura says, is our effort, because when Kṛṣṇa saw that Yaśodā was perspiring and giving her effort, then He extended the other inch, which was, 'Okay, I'll let you tie Me.' So we have to put our effort in. Determination, effort. It's not just automatic it happens. We have to be there in the relationship, not that I have to develop faith in Kṛṣṇa.' He has to develop faith in you, in us. He has to see, like, 'This person's good for it. They're doing their due diligence. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Any service that's done for the sake of service for service, without expectation of getting something in return — "sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje ahaituky apratihatā yayātmā suprasīdati. (SB 1.2.6)" The sages at Naimisharanya said, "If you can do service like this in which you're not expecting anything in return—you can try that." In the Bhagavad Gītā, Kṛṣṇa says, "Do that." And he said, "If you can't do that, then practice doing it." Then he said, "If you can't do that, then just give away some of the fruit of your work." This is in the twelfth chapter. He said, "If you can't do that for one reason or another, try to do something in the world selflessly, like go volunteer somewhere and see if you don't feel better about yourself. In this principle where you give without expecting anything in return." People feel good when they volunteer somewhere, because they think, "Oh, wow, how come I feel better? I didn't want anything. I just volunteered. I tried to do a good thing." When we practice in devotional service and we associate with pure devotees, we notice that they're happy all the time because they're doing selfless service, and it catches. They think, "Why are they so happy? Why do they live such an opulent, happy life?" It's because they follow the formula, and then we might try it ourselves. So that's what we're all doing. In fact, I was talking to a godbrother yesterday, and he was saying how it's especially important to remember when we are in a community like this that how we do things is more important than what we do. It's not that we're trying to achieve some goal, because the goal could always be higher, and what's it to Kṛṣṇa? He owns everything anyway. But it's the mood that we do it in that's most important. If we have a mood of loving service to others, we do things out of love for our friends in devotional service, and we'll feel a natural sense of happiness. That's what makes this, or any other spiritual community, sanguine and cheerful. That is selfless service. So just try to do selfless service and see how you feel. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

It's the longest purport you'll find in the Brahma-saṁhitā or perhaps anywhere else, and it's a description really of the 64 arts that Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is perfect in. And she offers that to Kṛṣṇa. It's this perfection of service that is ārādhanam, this feeling of "Let me perfect my service." So this is the motto of ISV. Our motto, our battle cry, is "Always better service," and this is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, and all the devotees are always trying to follow in her footsteps to perform better and better service to Kṛṣṇa, because her service is the best. Her service is perfect, so we try to perfect our service. In Vṛndāvana once, Prabhupāda came out of his room and the devotees offered him a garland. It was scraggly. Is that a word? Scraggly? It is? Yay! It was scraggly; it was withered. And in the first place, it wasn't a very nice garland, but after the heat hit it, then it turned into something that made Prabhupāda's lips curl a little bit. And then he called all the garland makers to his room, and he gave them a seminar on how to make garlands. So when I walked in this morning and I saw these—the garlands that the devotees are making here—this is ārādhanam. This is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. In the fine arts in the spiritual world, as an example, garland making is one of the arts. Can it be refined? Well, I remember a day here at ISV when it was by Jamunā's grace that we had any flowers at all. We were so poor. How poor were we? I remember we were so poor when we decided to start our saṅkīrtan party and we needed a table. We looked around at each other, "Where are we going to get it? We need a table to set up. We'll have to get somebody to loan us the money." The flowers that we were getting, because Jamunā from the very beginning was the only one supplying us flowers, and they were carnations, but the room was so hot there at our old temple. How hot was it? It was so hot that those little garlands that we offered, the best of what we could put together, they would dry up within an hour and they became these very scraggly little garlands. But over time, we see that the devotees have learned the art of making garlands, and Kṛṣṇa has given more and more facility to get flowers, which is the real opulence in Deity worship—flowers. And now, if you see these vases up here next to Prabhupāda or over here, this looks like somebody is following in the footsteps of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. What to speak of Prabhupāda's garland! Hare Kṛṣṇa! And you can imagine, while they are making those garlands—they take hours, it takes hours to make those—and then the offering goes. And Śrīla Prabhupāda wears it for a few hours. The Deities wear them for a few hours. But do the devotees who made them feel satisfied? Yeah, completely satisfied... The word "attend" has the word "ten" in it. It's Latin. "Ten" is the same word in tendon, which holds together muscle and bone. It also means to stretch towards something, to give it special attention. At-ten-tion. It's there also, intention. So, when we attend to the mantra, we're holding on, we're stretching towards it, always keeping the mantra. And on my screen, I was just noticing that I left four items behind because I have those little air tags. And I was thinking how, if you chant the mantra, you'll get a little notice: "Four anarthas left behind," really, because Kṛṣṇa purifies us by the sound vibration. But we have to be innocent and we have to be sincere and really try to attend to the mantra always. This instruction this morning about just listen to the sound vibration, try to hear it, don't interpret it, but just be very patient and accept that it's an avatār of Kṛṣṇa in sound. Then everything's revealed. If you want to find the ultimate thing, you have to ask the question and if you want to acquire something, you have to ask about it. And whatever you ask about, that's what you're going to get. So if you just ask about the basic necessities of life, you get what the snails get: just a little grass. But if you ask about God, then you can get that. So the Brahma-sūtra says, "Athāto Brahma-jijñāsā." If you can get a leśa, a whiff, a molecule, something tiny, mercy from Kṛṣṇa, the smallest amount, a leśa—then you can understand everything about him. The whole process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is to receive this mercy. “Prabhupada Picks” refers to a selection of verses from the 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam that Srila Prabhupada memorized himself and quoted very frequently in his teachings. Would you like to inherit the kingdom of God? Just say, "Yes." Brahmā says, there's one technique, and that is whatever happens to you in this world—and the same kinds of things happen to all of us, understand that this is the mercy of God, because this world is not for enjoyment. It's an Airbnb, it's an Uber. You don't own it. You don't get to keep it. You don't get to stay. So why are we here? It's a classroom. We're meant to learn something. And if you accept that God's creation is perfect, and the way that He interacts with His devotees is for their ultimate good, and you accept that in your life, and you tolerate whatever miseries come as the special gift of God to purify you of your last vestiges of attachment to the material world, he said, then you inherit the kingdom of God ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #backtogodhead #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

I was just thinking, also, about yesterday. We went out. It's an ocean out there, and people are coming from every direction. You don't know who they are, where they're coming from. I was thinking of the churning of the milk ocean when the devas and the asuras came together for the yajña. It was Viṣṇu's wish that they did this yajña. So, they threw all the ingredients into the ocean. And then, of course, with the help of The Lord at every step, because they couldn't even carry them out by themselves. But when they started churning, then of course, Hālāhala poison came out. And then there was Lakṣmī Jī and all the different entities. Saṅkīrtana is like that. It's the yajna, yuga-dharma. When we go out and attempt to distribute the holy names, the Bhāgavatam, and the Bhagavad-gītā, it's like churning in that crowd, and you don't know who's going to come out of it. Yesterday, on the way home, I got a note from somebody on our team about a person who had written in and said that many years ago, they got a book at a motel, and they didn't think anything of it. They said, "We stole it." It was a Bhagavad-gītā, and they said, "We also got some packet at Los Angeles Ratha-yātrā; somebody handed us one. We had them all, and we didn't do anything about it." He said, "But now I'm chanting. I'm reading. I'm part of the program." So the yajña is very potent because The Holy Name always has a supreme effect, even if somebody accidentally does it, what to speak of jokingly. I was thinking yesterday, too, there were so many challenges. Somebody called me a white devil. Another kid, when I asked about karma, he had some—he was very pugnacious and wanted to challenge the whole idea of morality and everything. It was like everywhere you go, there's some challenge, and it's very healthy to go out and be part of that polishing process where you're getting hit from every side, and then you are endeavoring to give people Holy Names. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japawalk #sankirtan #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Chaitanya and Nitai are so merciful that they don't consider any offenses. That's one of the reasons that Śrīla Prabhupāda mentions that when we approach Kṛṣṇa, we first have to approach Nitāi and Gaurāṅga. One of the names of Lord Nityānanda is adoṣa-darśī. Doṣa means a fault, and adoṣa means no fault, and darśī means to see. So, what his name means is he's the one who doesn't see any faults in others. He only sees the good and tries to uplift all living entities. So Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga is a befitting name for these Deities because they've come here to Los Altos to perform their pastimes and to give everyone who comes here an opportunity to chant, dance, feast, and read the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. And even if they're busy, or they're working, if they have a little bit of association with Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga, they'll become transcendentalized and begin to take to the process of devotional service. So this is a great day of celebration. We were feeling great happiness driving over here today, knowing that the Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga would appear in your home. When I went in the back room to see them, they were so blissful. It reminded me of the song of kevala ānanda-kanda. The whole process of worshiping them, or keeping them in your home and just chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa together, is so sublime and effective that anyone who takes to this will become uplifted. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In the Second Chapter of the First Canto, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam says: śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtanaḥ hṛdy antaḥ stho hy abhadrāṇi vidhunoti suhṛt satām (Text 18) naṣṭa-prāyeṣv abhadreṣu nityaṁ bhāgavata-sevayā bhagavaty uttama-śloke bhaktir bhavati naiṣṭhikī (Text 19) tadā rajas-tamo-bhāvāḥ kāma-lobhādayaś ca ye ceta etair anāviddhaṁ sthitaṁ sattve prasīdati (Text 20) evaṁ prasanna-manaso bhagavad-bhakti-yogataḥ bhagavat-tattva-vijñānaṁ mukta-saṅgasya jāyate (Text 21) bhidyate hṛdaya-granthiś chidyante sarva-saṁśayāḥ kṣīyante cāsya karmāṇi dṛṣṭa evātmanīśvare (Text 22) In this paragraph spoken by Sūta Gosvāmī, he says that the main means for elevating oneself to pure consciousness, or Kṛṣṇa consciousness, is to participate in the hearing of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. He starts by saying: śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtanaḥ. If you sit for Śrīmad Bhāgavatam and just listen submissively, then you're gaining spiritual credit, or puṇya. This goes into a bank account in your heart, and you never lose it, as Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad Gītā : nehābhikrama-nāśo 'sti pratyavāyo na vidyate sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt (BG 2.40). When you do something for Kṛṣṇa and you make advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, it's never lost; it goes to your eternal credit. He goes on to say that by hearing Śrīmad Bhāgavatam gradually, anything which is abhadra is winnowed out. Everyone knows what bhadra means, right? Bhadra means something auspicious, but abhadra means those things that are inauspicious. By hearing the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, gradually any of the anarthas, or unwanted things, that are within our consciousness are winnowed out by the process of hearing. He then says, "evaṁ prasanna-manasaḥ," which means that one's mind becomes happy. That's very difficult in this world because there is always one anxiety after another. When you finish solving one problem, there's another. But by hearing the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam and allowing the spiritual sound vibration to enter your ears and heart, your mind gradually becomes happy. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the 14th Chapter of the 10th Canto that when people have a home, if it doesn't have Kṛṣṇa Consciousness inside, then it becomes like a prison. They're locked in, can't get out. Every realm is defined by the sound vibration. So you can have a fancy house, but once you are locked in there, you're stuck with the sound vibration that's inside. If the sound vibration is mundane, then it doesn't matter how fancy the house is, you'll be in hellish consciousness. And by the same principle, if you're even in the simplest environment, if the vibration is pure, then you're not in the material world. You're in the transcendental realm, as the realm is defined by the transcendental sound vibration. I once lived in Bhuvaneśvara in a little hut, went to my god-brother, and HH Gaura Govinda Mahārāja was staying there too. We had no facility, except for we would cook on a little fire, and Mahārāja would give class in the morning sitting on just a little wooden platform. There was nothing around at that time. But we were just completely happy, just a little khichḍī. We would sleep on the dirt floor in that hut and then listen to Bhāgavatam and chant, and then go to Jagannāth Purī. And it's a blissful life. So this grandiose society, everyone's trying to find happiness by developing materially, but they don't know the principle, which is sound vibration. So it's our job to introduce the science of Kṛṣṇa consciousness so people can transform their lives by upgrading their soundtrack and making sure that they include The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra. They could even put Gaura Nitāi in their house. What a difference that would make! You could spend $5 million on a house on the street that's on the low side. We looked it up. One house is for sale down here. It's 4.2; it's the crappiest house on the block. But if there's no Gaura Nitāi inside any of these places, then what is the use? Soft pillows and a bed? It's just the exact same thing. That's what Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the beginning of the Second Canto of Bhāgavatam you know, just live simply and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and be happy. Or if you live in a nice place so more people can come, it doesn't disturb us either because the main thing is the vibration—keeping the transcendental little vibration going. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

This is bhakti, how The Lord can become one's little child and drink breast milk from the mother. And our ācāryas say, "Yes, Nanda Mahārāja was very fortunate. He became the father of Kṛṣṇa, but Yaśodā is the most fortunate because Kṛṣṇa never left her. He was with her 24 hours a day as a child. No one was closer to Kṛṣṇa than Yaśodā." In the same section of the Bhāgavatam, we hear the admonition that was much repeated by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His teachings. When He went to South India, He talked to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa. Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa was in the Rāmānuja-sampradāya, the Śrī-Sampradāya, and they were having a discussion—Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa, the great ācārya there. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was telling him, "Actually, Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, you worship as Lord Nārāyaṇa." So Veṅkaṭa wanted to know, "Well, how can you say He's the Supreme Personality of Godhead?" And Caitanya Mahāprabhu asked him, "How is it that the consort of Lord Nārāyaṇa came to Vṛndāvana and performed severe austerities to enter into the rāsa dance?" And Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa said, "You please tell me." It's because the quality of devotion in Vṛndāvana is topmost. There is no more intimate relationship between Kṛṣṇa and His devotees than in Śrī Vṛndāvana, and of all the devotees, Mother Yaśodā has the most intimate connection with Kṛṣṇa in His childhood. And therefore Śukadeva Gosvāmī says: "nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha (SB 10.9.21)." And this is the verse quoted by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. There are many approaches. One may try to cultivate knowledge to understand God; one may perform yoga, haṭha Yoga, aṣṭāṅga Yoga; one may be a karmī, trying to position oneself in the material world in such a way as to have the best of everything. And Śukadev says, "None of these ways will attract Kṛṣṇa. Only simple bhakti will. "Nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha." In this world, only by bhakti, following in the footsteps of the residents of Vṛndāvana,... This is later written by Rūpa Gosvāmī, the process of devotional service: "tan-nāma-rūpa-caritādi-sukīrtanānu- smṛtyoḥ krameṇa rasanā-manasī niyojya tiṣṭhan vraje tad-anurāgī-janānugāmī kālaṁ nayed akhilaṁ ity upadeśa-sāram (NOI 8)." He said, "This is the essence of all advice. One should take to the practice of hearing, chanting, and remembering, etc. Śravaṇam, kīrtanaṁ Viṣṇu, smaraṇaṁ, pāda-sevanaṁ, arcanaṁ, vandanaṁ, dāsyaṁ, sakhyaṁ, ātma-nivedanam —the nine processes of devotional service continuously. Then one will come to appreciate the devotional service of the residents of Vṛndāvana." And when one develops this appreciation for the devotion of the devotees in Vṛndāvana, one may become intrigued by that. This is the beginning of one's relationship with Kṛṣṇa in a particular mood. This cannot be artificially stimulated. It comes only by copious hearing over many lifetimes to come to this position of bhakti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------

He is our little vegan friend (pointing to a snail on the sidewalk). He is informed from within by the Supersoul, but I'm not sure where he's going now, because it doesn't look promising, does it? You can see how hapless living entities who have no guidance can wander into some place that is extremely dangerous and be stepped on by material nature. So, it's there in the Bhagavatām: 'samāśritā ye pada-pallava-plavaṁ mahat-padaṁ puṇya-yaśo murāreḥ bhavāmbudhir vatsa-padaṁ paraṁ padaṁ padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām (SB 10.14.58).' The material world is vipadam; it's very dangerous. Any step—your step or somebody else's step—can crush you. So that's like material nature. Here's the Virajā, maybe here's Vaikuntha . So, the avatāra comes and just intervenes. "I'm really sorry, my little vegan friend. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. We love you very much. Please tell all your friends to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, and please, in your next life, come back to our program for going back to Godhead. But for now, we'd like to introduce you to a more lush environment. Please enjoy the salad bar, all you can eat. Everybody carries a song in their heart. That's what moves all of us. Melody and rhythm are universal. So in Bhakti, when we sing these bhajans, they go deeply within our body. They overwrite the other sound vibrations that are there, and they leave us with the clear, pristine spiritual sounds of another realm. And when we have those and we can aspire for that realm, actually, we'll be carried to that realm by the power of that sound vibration. In the spiritual world, this is the norm: that every gait is a dance, every word is a song. So the spiritual world is not void, and Kṛṣṇa is not alone, but the spiritual world is where all the living entities who are enlightened and in love with Kṛṣṇa reside. The material world is a little lonely because we are separated from the light of the spiritual worlds and from Kṛṣṇa. So the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam brings our attention to the portals through which we can see the spiritual world and understand it. It's not illogical. In the Bhagavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa says, "ūrdhva-mūlam adhaḥ-śākham aśvatthaṁ prāhur avyayam chandāṁsi yasya parṇāni yas taṁ veda sa veda-vit," that this material world is a reflection of the spiritual world. We see variety here, but the variety here is temporary. It has a shelf life. Whatever we want to embrace here, whatever we want to taste here, has a beginning and an end. It's a temporary world because it's a reflection of the spiritual world. So the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam says that the mission of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is "reality distinguished from illusion for the benefit of all." If I try to embrace an illusory apple, a reflection on the water, this is folly; I won't be able to eat it. But the substance is there in the spiritual world. So Brahmā gives this explanation of how one can see Kṛṣṇa. He says, "Although Kṛṣṇa is transcendental form is presented as black." Devotees who are in love with the Supreme Personality of Godhead appreciate the Lord as Śyāmasundara, having a very beautiful, blackish form. The Lord's form is so beautiful that the Brahma-saṁhitā also states, "veṇuṁ kvaṇantam aravinda-dalāyatākṣaṁ barhāvataṁsam asitāmbuda-sundarāṅgam / kandarpa-koṭi-kamanīya-viśeṣa-śobhaṁ / govindam ādipuruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi... I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord who plays on His transcendental flute. His eyes are like lotus flowers. He is decorated with peacock plumes, and his bodily color resembles the color of a fresh black cloud. Although his bodily features are more beautiful than millions of Cupids, this beauty of the Supreme Lord can be seen by devotees who are in love with him, devotees whose eyes are anointed with the love of Godhead: 'Premāñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena.' ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

How would you feel if you were cursed to die in seven days? Not very good. But Parīkṣit Mahārāj said, ‘Let the snake-bird, or whatever magical creature this boy has conjured, bite me at once. All I want is to go on hearing the transcendental vibration about Kṛṣṇa.' He wasn't disturbed by it. In fact, there's a list of symptoms given in the Madhya-līlā of the Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta, which is the teachings and pastimes of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That's another book besides the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. It's a must-have, by the way. And within that, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu teaches Sanātana Gosvāmī the tenets of bhakti-yoga. In one section, he describes what symptoms one would have when one becomes spiritually advanced. He gives Parīkṣit Mahārāj as an example of a highly advanced person. The first symptom of the heart being spiritually enlivened, otherwise known as bhāva, is that he didn't mind being cursed. It was called kṣāntir, a kind of immediate forgiveness of the situation. He said, ‘You're cursed.' A little boy cursed you, and it's effective. So it's coming. There's a snake-bird coming for you. And he said, ‘Let it come. It's the arrangement of the Lord.' In fact, his opinion was that this is Kṛṣṇa's arrangement for me. He said, "I was a king. I was so attached to all my things. How else would I have given them up? But now I have an excuse. A perfect excuse." Who else got an excuse in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam to walk out on his family? Vidura. Vidura was not cursed, but he was insulted severely by Duryodhana. You remember this? Vidura was trying to stand up for the Pāṇḍavas, and Duryodhana said, ‘Who is this guy, anyway? He's not even full-blooded, part of our family. He's a mutt. Get him out of here! I'll beat him up! I'll beat him out of here!' In that very moment, Vidura felt, ‘This is Kṛṣṇa's opening for me to go out and just be absorbed and go on pilgrimage.' This is what you do when nothing else works out. You just go to the Dhām. He went on pilgrimage for many years. He walked outside that palace, laid down his bow and arrow right on the doorstep, and then he was unrecognizable after that. No one could tell where he was, or they couldn't see him anymore. So, the times in which we're tested most deeply in this world are the times when we can understand, 'How spiritually advanced am I?' One of the first symptoms is called kṣāntir. It means the heart is forgiving. It's like, 'Okay, it's Kṛṣṇa's arrangement.' This is embodied in one of the most famous verses that we're going to visit today, in the 14th chapter of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. “Prabhupada Picks” refers to a selection of verses from the 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam that Srila Prabhupada memorized himself and quoted very frequently in his teachings. And the second verse—one of the two Prabhupāda's most-quoted verses, there are only two out of that whole chapter (SB 10.33: The Rasa Lila) —is: "vikrīḍitaṁ vraja-vadhūbhir idaṁ ca viṣṇoḥ śraddhānvito 'nuśṛṇuyād atha varṇayed yaḥ bhaktiṁ parāṁ bhagavati pratilabhya kāmaṁ hṛd-rogam āśv apahinoty acireṇa dhīraḥ (SB 10.33.39)." The topics of Kṛṣṇa, especially His consorting with the gopīs of Vṛndāvan, have so much spiritual potency that, śraddhānvito 'nuśṛṇuyād, if somebody faithfully hears them, if they have the context and they understand the other verse, then, such a person very quickly, acireṇa dhīraḥ, that person becomes dhīra. He's not affected by the material world anymore, which is interesting because it's a love story. But by hearing that story, one becomes immune to the so-called "love story" of the material world that everyone is affected by. Everyone is overtaken by Cupid in the material world; nobody can get out of it. It's too powerful. But the potency of Kṛṣṇa kathā is such that if one hears that and understands Kṛṣṇa's position—"dharma-vyatikramo dṛṣṭa īśvarāṇāṁ ca sāhasam"—He's an Īśvara. He's like fire; he can't be contaminated. So, what is taking place there? If one could understand that topic, then 'acireṇa dhīra,' very quickly, one becomes sober and not affected by the material world. What to speak of, 'bhaktim, Param Bhagavati, pratilabhya kama,' he attains the highest level of bhakti and overcomes the "dread disease of the heart," which is Kāma, the lust of the material world. What do you think? Audience: That's very powerful. It's very interesting because if you look at the selected verses throughout the 10th Canto, you can gain something by seeing which ones Prabhupada quoted the most and which topic he was on, what was his thread when you go through. But I just noted that those are the two from the Rasalīlā chapter. He could have quoted something more rasika on a regular basis, but he gave these verses that give context so that one could enter into them properly. Any other realizations or thoughts? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japawalk #spirituallessons #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Śrīla Prabhupāda, you have shown us the real wealth of life: the joy of cooperating together in devotional service to a pure devotee. You have given us the ultimate formula for fulfillment—not tit-for-tat exchanges or transactional relationships, but the mood of selfless giving, free from ego and ambition. You taught us that cooperation among devotees is not merely a strategy for organizational success; it is the very symptom of spiritual advancement. In a world torn by division, the ability of devotees to serve together in harmony is nothing short of miraculous. At ISKCON of Silicon Valley, we witness this miracle every day. Devotees come together not only to distribute your books, but to cook and serve prasādam with devotion, to dress and worship The Deities with care and attention, to clean the temple joyfully as an offering to you, to chant the holy names together, to teach and nurture the children of our community in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and to give newcomers a chance to catch hold of your mood and method of serving Kṛṣṇa. Each of these services is powerful on its own, but when we perform them without a sense of entitlement or desire for recognition but rather, when we execute them in the mood of cooperation for the sake of maintaining unity and purity of purpose in service to your mission—they become transcendental expressions of love. Obstacles dissolve, spiritual joy increases, and the power of sādhu-saṅga becomes tangible. In a letter to Gurukula teachers, you wrote, "We are persons and Kṛṣṇa is a person, and our relationship with Kṛṣṇa is always open as a voluntary agreement. That voluntary attitude, 'Yes, Kṛṣṇa, I shall gladly cooperate, whatever You say,' that ready willingness to obey is only possible if there is love. Forcing will not make me agree. But if there is love, oh, I shall gladly do it. That is bhakti. That is Kṛṣṇa consciousness." A medicine tablet, which contains fillers, is effective only because it contains an active ingredient. The active ingredient of your movement is voluntary service based on love, stimulated by loving exchanges in the process of hearing and chanting about Kṛṣṇa. In you, Śrīla Prabhupāda, we find no filler. Even a small dose of your vāṇī therefore can cure the disease of material life. You have given us the most precious gift: the knowledge that real happiness comes not from consumption but from contribution, not from income but from surrender, not from being served but from serving. That clarity of purpose—śuddha-bhakti—shines like a jewel amid the refuse like distractions, and entanglements of this world. And it is this essence that unites and inspires our community at ISKCON of Silicon Valley to continue your mission with enthusiasm and conviction. Śrīla Prabhupāda, we pray to imbibe even a fraction of your selfless spirit. Please bless us with the humility to put service before recognition, to put unity before individual ambition, and to put your pleasure before our own comforts. Let ISKCON of Silicon Valley always remain a beacon of cooperation in your service, a family that mirrors the miracle you began.
