Actually, Kṛṣṇa says it himself (BG 5.29), "I'm the best resource. bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati You want a resource? I own everything. Everything comes from Me." There is nothing more direct and personal that we can do than repeat Kṛṣṇa's names. He is completely present, 100%. In fact, Rūpa Goswāmī says the name is better than Kṛṣṇa personally. And therefore, out of all the practices we do, this is the most direct. We have complete, full access to Kṛṣṇa just by his name. So, it's very personal. You can remember that the name and the named—Kṛṣṇa and his name—are non-different, and that it's a very personal process of repeating somebody's name. If you love somebody and you say their name, then you become immediately connected in consciousness. But because Kṛṣṇa is an absolute person, He makes his avatār in his name specifically to lift us up. And Rūpa Goswāmī and all the ācāryas say, "Out of all the practices we do, this is the most important." Feel free to give your whole heart and mind to the process. Nothing else is needed, just this chanting with sincerity. And one other mood is that we're all going through a lot because we're in a human experience, and we're very vulnerable and exposed from all sides. We can use that to our advantage by just admitting to Kṛṣṇa how we're suffering in the material world and how we need a shelter, because no one else can help us, only Kṛṣṇa. In the Western countries, where the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement is spreading, learned scholars and other thoughtful men are realizing its effectiveness. For example, Dr. J. Stillson Judah, a learned scholar, has been very much attracted to this movement because he has actually seen that it is turning hippies addicted to drugs into pure Vaiṣṇavas who voluntarily become servants of Kṛṣṇa and humanity. Even a few years ago, such hippies did not know the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, but now they are chanting it and becoming pure Vaiṣṇavas. Thus they are becoming free from all sinful activities, such as illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating and gambling. This is practical proof of the effectiveness of the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement, which is supported in this verse. One may or may not know the value of chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, but if one somehow or other chants it, he will immediately be purified, just as one who takes a potent medicine will feel its effects, regardless of whether he takes it knowingly or unknowingly. People like to accumulate. In fact, the whole airline interest industry is supported and based on the reward systems they have. They wouldn't exist today if they didn't have the frequent flyer programs. I saw a documentary about it. They got that idea from an idea that was in America ,circa 1960. I remember it well: it was Blue Chip Stamps. You used to get these little stamps you could paste in a book when you bought things, and once you filled out a certain number of pages, you could trade it in for exciting prizes. Even though the prizes were not that significant, the whole idea gave people this compulsion to collect Blue Chip Stamps. And the airline industry figured that out—that people seek some reward. So they started this reward system, and it's the only reason they hold it together today. People are compelled, like, "I'm going to fly this airline because I get points, I get miles, and then I could trade it in for an upgrade someday." And when you get on that, a little plastic red carpet you can walk on like, "I'm over here. You guys are over there. You guys are losers." Puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtana... even if we have a sense of, "What do I get out of this?" Bhāgavatam says, puṇya-śravaṇa-kīrtana: just by hearing, you are accumulating this spiritual asset that will come to bear someday, that you'll be able to use that. You have to have that asset. It's also mentioned in the Bhagavad-Gītā. Kṛṣṇa says that the human life is meant for daivī sampat, and Prabhupāda gives it in that context that you're collecting it. You should get daivī sampat, or spiritual assets, so that you can be strong and take to spiritual life; otherwise, people fade away. So, hear, chant, remember, and perform devotional service with the idea that "I'm preparing myself so that I can stand on my own two feet." And that's called niṣṭhā. We come to a point when we have enough spiritual asset that we're no longer pushed around by the lower urges. And that day comes for anyone who sticks to the process of devotional service. There are two ways to do it. If you chant haphazardly or offensively, then you'll come to the goal someday, but it'll take a long time. But if you become focused and regulated and apply yourself, then the process is very quick. It's described in many places as coming very quickly: 'satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥ taj-joṣaṇād āśv.' Āśu means very quickly. It happens more quickly than you might think, if you stick to the process. But it's always up to Kṛṣṇa. So this is the process given to us by our great ācāryas. And we have all the spiritual necessities and paraphernalia necessary. We just have to apply ourselves. An observation: the mind can become overwhelmed and think, "Oh, I can never do this," but there is enough encouragement from Kṛṣṇa that, "Yes, you can," and even a little application will have an inordinate result. Therefore, we should be encouraged by Kṛṣṇa's words that whatever we can do, do. A little bit is better than nothing. If we feel that, "I wish I was more advanced," don't worry. Just do what you can now, and more will come as you're able to taste the flavor of The Holy Name and as Kṛṣṇa gives more facility in your life, or as is naturally available because of changes of different periods in your life, you get more opportunity. Just be ready for it to take advantage when it comes. The sages of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam tell us that before the creation of the material universe, everything exists in subtle potential within the consciousness of the Supreme Lord. When He glances upon material nature, His will awakens the machinery of manifestation. The universe begins to print itself into being, one layer at a time, from subtle to gross, from vibration to form, from thought into thing. This process is mirrored everywhere around us, and even within us. In the age of machines, the simplest metaphor is that of a 3D printer. The 3D printer begins not with paper or ink, but with information: invisible sequences of digital data, code, shapes, colors, ideas are sent from the mind of a creator into a mechanism that translates them into visible form. The machine does not invent the content; it merely reveals what has been conceived. The same principle governs the cosmos. The material universe is not a random explosion, but a deliberate unfolding, an act of divine printing. The Lord's glance over Prakṛti or material nature is like pressing the "Print" button. The information—the blueprints of galaxies, atoms, and souls—is already encoded in the divine mind. The material energy serves as the printer, the instrument through which that information takes on perceptible form. Just as a printer cannot produce anything unless data is supplied, nature cannot act without consciousness. The Bhāgavatam describes material nature as inert, a machine that awakens only when the glance of the Lord touches it. That glance is consciousness; that glance is will; and it brings everything to life. And Japa is the sound that prints the spiritual world. In the same way, our consciousness is constantly printing our personal reality. Each thought and desire-vibration we emit becomes a line of code in the architecture of our life. This is why the Vedas say, "manomaya prāṇa śarīra netra" "The mind is the architect of form." When we chant the Hare Krishna mantra, we are sending transcendental information into our hearts and the subtle layers of the universe. These sounds are not material; they are Śabda-Brahman, pure spiritual energy in the form of vibration. They contain within them the entire reality: Krishna, the source of everything, His names, His pastimes, and His devotees. So, just making a parallel to remember that whatever vibration we're making is forming the world around us and within us. Japa is the means through which we transform the instrument of our mind to a medium where we can see Krishna. And it requires some practice, because in the beginning, the mind is agitated by various thoughts, moving in different directions. And then talking to somebody recently who is studying the subtleties of the mind and the process of meditation, I came up with this phrase: "benign discomfort." When one practices sitting to chant the holy name of the Lord, one has to tolerate benign discomfort, as the mind might want to move here or there. We should stay in the practice of bringing the mind back to the mantra until it becomes ekāgratā, or one with the mantra. And then we can find great benefit in being fully absorbed in the mantra. So, we're printing our world as we speak and as we chant, and we have to tolerate benign discomfort. There's great fruit in staying the course. If we can achieve one-mindedness with the mantra, we can achieve absorption. Have you ever walked out of your āśrama and had somebody come up to you and say, "You look tired"? Have you ever had that? How do you feel after that? You go to the mirror and you're looking like, "Yeah, maybe I do look tired." All day long you're thinking about it, and you go home and say, "Hey, do I look tired?" They are like, "Yeah, you look tired." Like, "Oh." Or what if somebody comes up to you and they go, "You look terrible"? How do you feel? Yeah. Then you go to other people, "How do I look to you?" We are very protective of our, or deliberate about the way we present ourselves to the world. And everybody wants to look all spruced up when they go out and meet people. They don't like it if somebody says, "Oh, you look tired, you look sick, you look terrible." And all of these affect the consciousness of the person, as soon as somebody observes that, whether it's true or not. What's really true is they're spiritual, and they do have a secret, which is that they're eternal servant of Kṛṣṇa; they have just forgotten it. So if you make the statement, then ask the question, there's a chemical reaction, just like epoxy glue. When I was a kid, there used to be two tubes, because it wasn't like Super Glue, where you just do one thing and it sticks together. It always annoyed me as a kid; I would tell my father, "Why do they have to have two tubes?" Because when they mix together, that's when there's a chemical reaction, and then it becomes a solid on a molecular level, it holds the thing together. So these two things go together, and what are they? Audience: You look spiritual, what is your secret? And if you just walk up to people all day long and said, "Excuse me, you look spiritual. What's your secret?" I guarantee you will sell tons of books, because people are in a state of self-realization when you ask these two questions, and when you hand the book over, they'll remember, "I'm spirit soul." All the devotees, due to great ecstasy, repeatedly dance to their hearts content. 3) All the people of the universe become maddened upon entering this intoxicating shower of nectar. Some people cry, some dance and others become fully intoxicated within their minds. 4) Lord Siva, embracing Narada Muni, repeatedly makes loud screams of ecstatic joy, and Lord Brahma, dancing very ecstatically, says, “All of you kindly chant, Haribol! Haribol!” 5) In great happiness the thousand-faced Ananta Sesa chants “Hari! Hari!” By the influence of the transcendental vibration of the holy name, the whole universe becomes ecstatically maddened and everyone tastes the mellows of the holy name. 6) Thakura Bhaktivinoda, the humble servant of the Lord, says, “The holy name of Krishna has fulfilled all my desires by vibrating on everyone's tongue.” Bhaktivinoda therefore prays at the feet of Sri Rupa Goswami that the chanting of harinam may continue like this always. We'll talk tonight about the legacy that we have inherited and the ways in which we can carry it forward to other people. If you look around here today, you'll see that these are rare souls in the room, because we are in the midst of the saṅkīrtana movement. Somehow or other, we have been given this opportunity together to carry on the service that Śrīla Prabhupāda got from his spiritual master, and it goes all the way back to Kṛṣṇa. So, the service itself is a high sādhana that connects us to Kṛṣṇa most directly. What's more, it's the purpose of the creation. That's what Kṛṣṇa has in mind every time Mahā Viṣṇu exhales: yasyaika-niśvasita-kālam athāvalambya jīvanti loma-vilajā jagad-aṇḍa-nāthāḥ viṣṇur mahān sa iha yasya kalā-viśeṣo govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi (Brahma-saṁhitā 5.48) All the universes manifest, and then Kṛṣṇa reminds everyone where they left off in the last creation so they can start up again. But His underlying purpose in manifesting the world is to give every soul a chance to turn back towards him in the spiritual world and be happy. He says in the Bhagavad Gītā that those who take up the work of helping turn people back towards him are the most dear to him. Any spiritual practice that brings us closer to God, because it's a practice that's dear to him, is the most direct and the most important. So, book distribution is not a P.R. event. It's not a quaint activity that was meant for another era. Rather, it's a high sādhana that connects each one of us, not only to Prabhupāda, but also to Kṛṣṇa. And it was Śrīla Prabhupāda's mode, as he expressed it himself, that he picked up the mood of his spiritual master and he carried it forward. When we chant Haṛe Kṛṣṇa, we hear Haṛe Kṛṣṇa, and we perhaps take some time every day to chant individually, otherwise known as japa, or mantra meditation, it's possible that we could take it for granted or any of the other aspects of devotional service. I've read about monks who have been in a monastery for many years, and they have midlife crises where they start questioning their practice after so many years. And we often see that when people first come to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, they feel extremely fortunate because they realize the contrast between where they've been and what they've walked into, which is a spiritual environment. But when you are in the spiritual environment for a long time, unless you're conscientious about it and careful in the environment, then it's possible to either feel entitled or take it for granted, which may be the same thing or related as cousins. And at the same time, it is also completely possible to stay awake to one's good fortune of being in the practice of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. There are various qualities that Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, our main Ācārya, or teacher for Kṛṣṇa consciousness from 500 years ago, recommended—12 in all. He had given them in "do's and don'ts." He recommended that we are careful about atyāhāra, which literally means overeating, but it also means over-collecting, getting involved in collecting things that are not necessary, and working very hard for worldly things that distract us from our main interest in life, which is to utilize our time to become conscious of Kṛṣṇa. Atyāhāraḥ prayāsaś ca prajalpo (NOI 2)... He says, "I'm giving you the 'not-to-do' list." You may have a "to-do" list somewhere with you tonight or in your car at home, right? But you can also have a "not-to-do" list. When Durvāsā Muni tried to vanquish Ambarīṣa Mahārāja for a slight offense, which had to do with status, Durvāsā thought, "I carry a water pot; therefore, I'm a sādhu." He didn't understand that external trappings have nothing to do with it, because Ambarīṣa Mahārāja was a pure devotee in his heart of hearts, even though he was a king. He's glorified by all the ācāryas, who say, "Look, he's living only for Kṛṣṇa, and he's using everything for Kṛṣṇa." He had performed a severe austerity. He broke the fast before Durvāsā Muni to please Kṛṣṇa, and he did it in such a way that it should have been a non-issue, but Durvāsā Muni made it an issue. He tried to kill him, and then the Sudarśana-cakra chased after him. He went to many places to take shelter. Everyone said, "Sorry." Even then, he went to Lord Viṣṇu, who uttered this verse: "sādhavo hṛdayaṁ tu aham: The pure devotees are in My heart. I only consider them. That's My only consideration. And therefore, you have to go back to Ambarīṣa Mahārāja and beg forgiveness." So the consideration of the Bhāgavatam is that first, we worship the Vaiṣṇavas, or we worship the Vaiṣṇavas and we become servants of the servant. And kunja-vihari, always enjoying the company of the gopis within the bushes of Vrdavana forest. Radha-madhava kunja-vihari. So He's not only lover of Radharani, but braja-jana-vallabha. The whole residents of Vrndavana, they love Krsna. They do not know anything else. They do not know whether Krsna is God or not, neither they are very much harassed that “I shall love Krsna if He is God.” “He may be God or He may be whatever He is. It doesn't matter, but we love Krsna, that's all. ” That is called unnalloyed love. “If Krsna is God, then I shall love Him”—this is conditional love. This is not pure love. Krsna may be God or whatever He may be, but by His wonderful acts, the Vrajavasi, they are thinking, “Oh Krsna, He is very wonderful child, maybe some demigod. Maybe some demigod.” Because people are generally under impression that the demigods are all-powerful. They're powerful within this material world. The more we organize opportunities for everyone to read Prabhupāda's books more thoroughly, more questions are answered, and the more we imbibe Prabhupāda's mood, it's inescapable—and we don't wonder about it. We know directly Prabhupāda has manifested himself as a spiritual hologram right in front of us and spoken to us directly and as intimately as possible—because that's the nature of books. They're miraculous. I'll just make one last point, which is that Śrīla Prabhupāda also wanted us to write. He wrote his books based on the tradition of all the ācāryas, and we're a sampradāya of the book. All ācāryas generally have written and left some literary contribution behind. Sometimes people feel reticent about writing, because they say, “Well, Prabhupāda wrote everything, so we shouldn't write anything.” But you could look at it a different way—and that is, if we don't write, how can we prove what we got from Prabhupāda? At one time, Prabhupāda criticized his colleagues from the other institution he was part of for some time, and asked, “Where are their books?” As Prabhupāda was producing more and more books, he asked, “Where are their books?” Maybe it's not well known, but Prabhupāda strenuously advocated that all of his followers should write. Did you know that? I'll just read you a quote and let Prabhupāda speak for himself. Are you up for this? There's a few here. I took out a few out of many more, just to give a taste. "Formally, all activities were performed in connection with Viṣṇu, but after Satya-yuga, there were symptoms of disrespectful dealings among Vaiṣṇavas. Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura has said that a Vaiṣṇava is he who has helped others become Vaiṣṇavas. An example of one who has converted many others into Vaiṣṇavas is Nārada Muni—a powerful Vaiṣṇava who has converted others into Vaiṣṇavas is to be worshiped. But because of material contamination, sometimes an exalted Vaiṣṇava is disrespected by other minor Vaiṣṇavas. When great saintly persons saw this contamination, they introduced worship of the Deity in the temple. This began in Tretā-yuga and was especially predominant in Dvāpara-yuga. But in Kali-yuga, worship of the Deity is being neglected. Therefore, chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra is more powerful than Deity worship. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu set a practical example in that He did not establish any temples or Deities, but He profusely introduced the saṅkīrtana movement. Therefore, Kṛṣṇa consciousness preachers should give more stress to the saṅkīrtana movement—especially by distributing transcendental literature more and more. This helps the saṅkīrtana movement. Whenever there is a possibility to worship the Deity, we may establish many centers. But generally, we should give more stress to the distribution of transcendental literature, for this will be more effective in converting people to Kṛṣṇa consciousness." Okay, that's the preface. And now it gets to something more specific about writing. "It is certainly not good to write literature for money or reputation, but to write books and publish them for the enlightenment of the general populace is real service to the Lord. That was Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī's opinion, and he specifically told his disciples to write books. He actually preferred to publish books rather than establish temples. These are the potency of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and so we are part of Caitanya Mahāprabhu's mission. We're very fortunate to be His representatives. If you cultivate knowledge of who Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is by hearing again and again the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Kavirāja Goswami says, if you hear it and you don't understand it, then hear it again, and again and again till you understand. And the effect is that we enter into that Līlā ourselves, and when we understand Kṛṣṇa by His grace, by hearing about Him, we become blissful, and we also become effectual in presenting Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to others. Why is He so important? Because it's very difficult to approach Kṛṣṇa, but Caitanya Mahāprabhu is Kṛṣṇa, but He comes as a devotee, and He makes Himself available, so that if anybody worships Him, tīrthāspadaṁ śiva-viriñci-nutaṁ śaraṇyam bhṛtyārti-haṁ praṇata-pāla bhavābdhi-potaṁ (SB 11.5.33) His lotus feet are the sum total of all the holy places. And if one serves Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and how does one do that? Join the saṅkīrtana movement, which is like an ocean. He said, “You have to cheat death before death cheats you.” And for those who are financial accountants (I don't know if there are any other kinds, I guess there are).we know the tax codes. Generally speaking, rich people don't have anything. If you look at their financials, you'll see they look like they don't own anything. They fly in jets that are not theirs. They live in an apartment that is not theirs. They have a huge fund of money, but that belongs to the company. “They don't have anything.” So, how much tax do they pay, Accountants? Zero! Because they don't have anything. This is the idea of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, in one sense also: I don't have anything. It's all Kṛṣṇa's. And whatever I hold on to will be taken, and then I'm cheated by the process of material nature, but if I preemptively donate it all to Kṛṣṇa, whatever I have, it all belongs to Kṛṣṇa. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura talks about this: "manasa deho geho jo kichu mor." He is saying, "All this stuff—house, what else does he name? My mind, my family—donated. It all belongs to Kṛṣṇa." Then that's reality, and one is situated properly. Bhaktivinoda is also saying, "jīv kṛṣṇa dās e biśvas korle to ār duḥkha nai." If you want to be free from unhappinéss, then just preemptively sign everything off to Kṛṣṇa. Say, "it all belongs to Kṛṣṇa, and I'm just a servant. I just work here, but nothing is mine." The topic today is 10 Principles to Develop Determination. Let's think first about the word determination. It has the word terminus in it, and that means, essentially, that one can finish what one starts. If you have ever started to read a book and then found that you only got to the second chapter, or if you had an idea to write in your notebook every day for the year, but you found in your drawer five to seven notebooks that were a quarter filled because you started and then you stopped, then maybe you felt frustrated and thought, 'Why couldn't I finish?' What to speak of finishing devotional practices, many people take vows and then later on, they give them up. It's practically commonplace. In fact, those who do follow vows stand out because people say, 'How is it they're still doing it?' And Prabhupāda told us, once, "Don't be amazed at who stops following their vows, be amazed at who does, as it's far more extraordinary." Those who do have the determination to continue and at least put together one lifetime in full dedication to Kṛṣṇa are notable. So, let's talk about some of the principles of determination today. My intention by mentioning these principles is that you can take them with you. Many of them are very practical, and you can enact them yourself, especially if you make a note or listen to this later and go through the ten and find out how you can execute each one of them. I guarantee you'll find an increase in the determination in your life, and maybe other benefits will come from this as well. As a preface to expressing how to develop determination, I'll start with the precursors—how to prepare the field to enact these ten that I'm going to mention today. Andy and Dasa talk about a quote from Ben Hogan and how they are trying to apply it to business, life, and golf.

Doesn't matter how much yoga you practice. Doesn't matter how detached you are, how mindful you are of the world; you may even achieve the point of equanimity. Has anybody here achieved complete equanimity, even when the monkey jumps on your head? No problem! So, even if you've achieved that state, it won't help you unless you have Acyuta-bhāva; you have to have that awakening that comes from Madana-Mohan. It stimulates the heart. It could come from the scent of the Tulasī leaf mixed with saffron. It could come from that one last Kīrtan, and we've seen it before. One young devotee came to the New York Ratha-yātrā. Complete equilibrium in life, because he grew up in a devotee family, and in one Kīrtan, the devotees were jumping up off the ground, and then he started jumping off the ground. After that, he said, "I'm in all the way." Changed. His heart changed. We know another devotee who came to Jagannāth Purī, and he saw the lotus eyes of Toṭā Gopināth, and he said, "That's it. I'm convinced. I'm in." Kṛṣṇa touches our heart. naiṣkarmyam apy acyuta-bhāva-varjitaṁ na śobhate jñānam (SB 1.5.12) Nothing else is enough in this world, through any process, except for bhakti, represented by Madana-Mohan. And that's what this temple is. It's what we should build in our heart. A monument in the heart that says nothing else but Kṛṣṇa only: the worshiping of Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. No other demigod, no other movie star, no other sports guy—unless you see them in relationship to Kṛṣṇa. When we have that experience of "I'm attracted to Kṛṣṇa, and all I want is Kṛṣṇa," it doesn't matter externally how entangled we are. How could we enter into Vrindāvan? How could we have a relationship with Kṛṣṇa? Revive our original relationship with Kṛṣṇa? The way that Yaśodā and all the residents of Vṛndāvan did. Isn't that what everybody here wants to know? Isn't this why you came to Brahmāṇḍa Ghāṭ today? This was what Rāmānanda Rāya said, and Lord Caitanya accepted. He said: jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām (SB 10.14.3) Brahmā said, "Throw away as far as you can throw it, any idea of figuring out Kṛṣṇa with your intellect. Make no attempt by your intellect to try to understand Kṛṣṇa, because if you could understand Kṛṣṇa by your intellect, he wouldn't be Kṛṣṇa. He would be some ordinary person. jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām He recommended something that all of you are doing. Do you want to know what he recommended that you're already doing and what you're doing right now? He recommended dedicating one's life to hearing about Kṛṣṇa. Why did you come on this Yātrā? You just wanted to hear about Kṛṣṇa. Admit it. I want you to admit it. All you wanted to do was hear about Kṛṣṇa, right? So he said, "Jīvanti" means "just live for this." If all you do is live, stay alive somehow or other, so that you can hear about Kṛṣṇa in the next class, your life is perfect. All you need is a little khicaḍī and some ācār and maybe a pāpaḍam, but definitely some lime or lemon. Lime is better. That's all you want, so you can stay alive, a little something to feed the fire in the belly. Then all you want is a little place to lie down. It has to be clean. Maybe a mat, a straw mat. Is that good enough? A little straw mat, maybe six and a half feet? Is that good enough? Okay, so all you need is a little khicaḍī, some ācār, maybe pāpaḍam, lime, and a mat to lie down on, so that you can stay alive. You wake up and you think, "Okay, I'm still alive, right?" And then you say, "What do I do now?" Nothing else to do but hear about Kṛṣṇa. So Brahmā said, "Make this your life," or he said, "If it is your life, that's the perfect life.
