Andy, Pete L, and Dasa are back on the pod talking about how working at The Golf Practice has impacted their own games. Dasa opens up about a rare rough round, experimenting with new putting mechanics from Stan Utley, and the tension between coaching and playing. They get into swing changes, chasing speed, when (or if) to make adjustments, and how AI might fit into the coaching mix.
Now we find out what happens when one who is qualified by Brahma Bhutah. After all, we know from Gita (BG 18.54): 'brahma-bhūtaḥ prasannātmā na śocati na kāṅkṣati samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām.' When one comes to this point of Self-Realization, one's no longer obligated to the senses in the way one was before. They're always demanding. Senses always feel entitled, "I demand that, and I deserve it! You give it to me now!" No more. There's no more obligation by the senses, and the incredible weight of the world comes off one's head that "I have no more debt in this world, no one to pay back because I have no more connection to the world." Brahma-bhūtaḥ prasannātmā, one becomes happy. Na śocati na kāṅkṣati—no more lamentation or hankering and one has no more envy of living beings, because samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu. Burning envy is a problem in this world, Icchā-dveṣa-samutthena. Mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām -from that position, one is at the threshold of the door of bhakti, and one can enter in easily from that position, Krishna is saying there. So here's the perfect situation: the Kumaras are coming into Vaikuṇṭha, and then the verse of ultimate transformation, which indicates the superior quality of bhakti yoga and gives, by example, the very definition of what bhakti is, when Narayan comes near, we hear that "tasyāravinda-nayanasya padāravinda kiñjalka-miśra-tulasī-makaranda-vāyuḥ" (SB 3.15.43)... In this world, it's important to be informed about what's important. We need an intervention. Caitanya Mahāprabhu said to Sanātana Goswami, māyā-mugdha jīvera nāhi svataḥ kṛṣṇa-jñāna jīvere kṛpāya kailā kṛṣṇa veda-purāṇa.'" For that reason, Kṛṣṇa personally comes in the form of Śrīla Vyāsadeva, and he makes available very clear knowledge that is comprehensible to humans. Humans can pick up a piece of literature or hear from someone who's heard from others wisdom that's been passed down through an authorized line, and when they hear it, then they can transform and improve their lives. It's not automatic that people come out of illusion. "Māyā-mugdha jīvera nāhi svataḥ" (CC Madhya 20.122) — it's not automatic that somebody just comes out of illusion. There has to be an intercedence by someone who comes along and gives an indication that there's a better choice. In fact, the availability of lesser goals is the main hindrance for human beings. We have a plethora of paths that lead to results in our lives that are not sanguine and do not fulfill our innermost desire. Fortunately, Kṛṣṇa loves us and wants us to have his association in the blissful spiritual world, and he makes every arrangement so that we can have such interventions in our lives. And Prabhupāda once said that two things are necessary to extricate oneself from one's present position and rise to a higher level, and those are knowledge and practice. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In the tenth Canto of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, we find a verse left for all of us here today by Śukadeva Goswāmī. All of those who feel left behind, who feel hopeless in life, who are striving for the spiritual world, find that it's like reaching for the moon. He wrote: 'Jayanti jana-nivāso devakī-janma-vādo yadu-vara-pariṣat svair dorbhir asyann adharmam sthira-cara-vṛjina-ghnaḥ su-smita-śrī-mukhena vraja-pura-vanitānāṁ vardhayan kāma-devam (SB 10.90.48).' The verse starts with the word Jayati, which means victory, but it is written in the present tense because Śukadeva understood that people after Krishna's disappearance would feel separation from Him and wonder, "Why couldn't His pastimes have gone on even to the present day?" And here he's saying they are going on right now for us, right here in this room. 'Jayanti jana-nivāso devakī-janma-vādo' - He's the Lord who is jayanti jana-nivāsaḥ. He walks among us. He gives His association to all human beings, and for those who enter deeply within the sādhana given to us by Śrīla Rūpa Goswāmī, He is perfectly present in our lives. We need never fear separation from Him by continuing the transcendental vibration in our lives, and the transcendental vibration is the clarion call for everyone to go back home, back to Godhead. Anyone who wants to go back to Godhead, say, "Hare Krishna!" We're going to be singing the Hare Krishna mahā-mantra. This is the most famous song in the world. It's not only sweeping the nation here, but all over the world: Russia, Australia, China, Mexico, Japan. In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam it is mentioned that in the spiritual world, every devotee of Krishna has a unique rāga or a melody for which he or she sings to Krishna from his or her heart. Then it goes on to say that actually, every species of life has a unique rāga to express their deep yearning for Krishna. This next rāga is called Haṃsadhvani, and it is the rāga of the swan. The gracefulness, the aesthetic beauty of the spiritual world, once captured in one's mind, it never leaves. And the song brings us to the swan swimming back to its home. So let's all take Haṃsadhvani into our heart and go back home, back to Godhead. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In Vṛndāvan, the devotees depend exclusively on Kṛṣṇa and the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam begins speaking about the holy name in the first chapter: āpannaḥ saṁsṛtiṁ ghorāṁ yan-nāma vivaśo gṛṇan tataḥ sadyo vimucyeta yad bibheti svayaṁ bhayam (SB 1.1.14) If anyone feels fear in their heart—and who doesn't, here in the material world?—bhayaṁ dvitīyābhiniveśataḥ syād. Fear arises at every moment when we forget Kṛṣṇa, as Śrīmad Bhāgavatam says, "To be free from fear and achieve all safety, call out the name of the Lord." So now we're all together in this sanctified place—more mahamantras chanted here than any other hotel in Orlando, Florida. Let's banish all fear from our hearts once and for all. Are you ready? We're going to raise our arms in the air as high as we can in one second, and we're all going to say "Kṛṣṇa!" But really say it with a feeling of, "Kṛṣṇa, please give me shelter." Śrīla Jīva Goswāmī says in one of his commentaries that the pure devotees of The Lord always remember Kṛṣṇa's promise in the Bhagavad-Gītā: "sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ (BG 18.66)" We're tired of the material world, right? We're not going to take it anymore, right? We only want Kṛṣṇa, right? And now let's put our arms in the air all at once. We'll say "Kṛṣṇa!" as loud as we can. One, two, three: KṚṢṆA! ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #kirtan #sadhusanga #spiritualmusic #musicforsoul #soulfulmusic #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The main way that we develop our character in this world, or any other is by our association. As Kṛṣṇa says in the Gītā: "kāraṇaṁ guṇa-saṅgo 'sya sad-asad-yoni-janmasu." Any situation you're in now, whatever way you've developed in your life, that is because of your association. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, when teaching about devotional service to Sanātana Gosvāmī, starts with talking about the power of association. Whenever you can get an opportunity to associate with those that you feel are ideal, take the opportunity to hear from, to serve, and to observe. That's very powerful that when you find somebody who is so high minded that you're impressed with them, you're in good association. Somebody who's doing things better than you could imagine that you could. If you spend some time with such advanced devotees, then there is a way that you'll also start taking on their qualities. And if you can get advice from such gentle souls, you can reveal your mind to such persons and say, here's the specific thing. How should I deal with it? You may even feel safe enough to admit whatever your anartha is, and then it becomes diminished because of exposure to the light, and guhyam akhyati pricchati. Rupa Goswami says, we need this kind of fellowship with advanced devotees to be able to reveal our minds. You can also work on yourself about being vulnerable, meaning start little by little by talking about what your anarthas are. There's a fear we might lose our stature in life. "I wear a mask that this is who I am as a human being or as a devotee, or whatever societal situation I'm in. I feel I have to protect that in order to be whole and to be accepted, to be loved." But if you can find situations where you can practice your vulnerability and find those people you feel safe enough with that you can admit certain things about yourself, then you realize that not only are you okay, but you feel unburdened by that. That's guhyam ākhyāti pṛcchati. It's very helpful. Actually, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is the only thing that can completely satisfy the heart, and one of the reasons is—or the main reason is—that we're part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. We have a very intimate relationship with Him. In one sense, we are Kṛṣṇa because we're one of His limbs. On the other side, achintya bheda abheda: we have our own identity. It's achintya, inconceivable. But if you consider how intimate we are, as Prabhupada explains, if you have a limb like a finger, what will you do to protect your finger? How will you take care of it? How important do you consider it to be? So, Kṛṣṇa considers every one of us to be important because we're His limbs, we're His parts and parcels—in one sense, on one side, non-different from Kṛṣṇa. And the feeling of separation from Him, dvitiya, thinking that I'm something separate from Him, is the cause of a completely different world. It's a world in which there's ignorance of the fact that we're part of Krishna, we're eternally His servants, and we enjoy in cooperation with Him, just as the finger does in cooperation with the hand and the rest of the body. So, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa feels so good because we finally have that respite we need from the pounding we get in the material world when we're trying to arrange things separately from Kṛṣṇa. We're just fully putting our attention in the hands of Krishna and just focusing on His name. Just as an experiment for a few minutes, we can probably only take about four or five in the time we have left. But I'd like you to rate yourself on a scale of one to ten. Ten means samadhi, that you attained complete absorption, that you're just fully fixed on the name without any fluctuation of your attention to any other place. One means that you were like sleeping on the floor and dreaming about some other land. Where did you end up on the scale? How do you rate yourself in the last 45 minutes of chanting the maha-mantra? Say a number—you don't have to give a long explanation, just a short one. And then say one thing that you find to be endearing about And then say one thing that you find to be endearing about Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
We've been given full permission to give our complete attention to chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, talking about Kṛṣṇa, and worshiping Kṛṣṇa. And if somebody brings up another topic, you can say, 'I appreciate it very much. If it were any other lifetime, I would be happy to discuss it with you. However, in this lifetime, I no longer have time, because I have been given one business—and that is to chant about Kṛṣṇa, worship Kṛṣṇa, and spread the Holy Name to people all over the world. If it was any other lifetime, I would be happy to talk to you about it. But in this lifetime, I've dedicated myself to this project, and I don't have time. Like, you know, sometimes people say, "It was any other day," or "any other something." It's like, "It was any other lifetime, it was any other previous lifetime." I would have probably been happy to talk to you about this, but in this lifetime, I won't be able to, because I have one point of dedication: Tasmād ekena manasā Bhagavān sātvatāṁ patiḥ Śrotavyaḥ kīrtitavyaś ca Dhyeyaḥ pūjyaś ca nityadā. (SB 1.2.14) This is the conclusion of the seminar, the 1000-Year seminar that took place at Naimiśāraṇya. They came up with a few mission statements, and one of them is "tasmād ekena manasā." Therefore, "tasmād ekena manasā" means to just point your mind in one direction. This has been the mission statement; it has been passed down from the top of the company. They already decided, and they gave it to us. So, if someone wants to bring your mind somewhere else, to some other conversation that doesn't sound like it's part of your mission, say, "Yeah, no problem. If it was some other previous lifetime, I would have definitely entertained it with you. But in this lifetime, I've been given 'tasmād ekena manasā bhagavān sātvatāṁ patiḥ.' I can only think of Bhagavān and do that kind of business and topic. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #soul #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The Bṛhat-bhāgavatāmṛta mentions that devotees don't look for peace. They're not looking for peace of mind; they're looking to satisfy Kṛṣṇa. In the endeavor to satisfy Kṛṣṇa, there are many complex situations, and there are many anxieties. And on record, a devotee asked Prabhupāda, "Devotees sometimes are in great anxiety." For instance he gave the example of distributing books, "they are in so much anxiety about it." And Prabhupāda said, "Tell them that that is spiritual anxiety." Then he gave the example of Yaśodā. And he said, "Yaśodā is always in anxiety. There's never a time when she's Oṁ śānti śānti śānti." She's constantly worried, "Will Kṛṣṇa get into something in Vraj? He's playing with the calves and the cows, and are they getting into trouble somewhere?" For instance, Kṛṣṇa goes and steals from people's houses, and then Yaśodā gets called about it, "Your son's stealing!" And then Kṛṣṇa has this impish look on his face, and so forth. So, constant anxiety for Kṛṣṇa. One takeaway from just the threshold of entering into this cursing pastime is that these kinds of differences of opinion or anxieties or complexities happen in spiritual life because of the uniqueness of the soul and the unfolding Līlā of Kṛṣṇa. And so, we needn't be utopian in interpreting this and saying, "How could this ever happen?" As we will find out tomorrow and onward, from this pastime The Lord appears. And tomorrow, we find that there's more about the nature of the Kumāras and why they became angry and then, subsequently, last point I'll make is that their transformation. This is a pastime of transformation, and it's very important ,because throughout the Srimad Bhagavatam, we find this beacon of pure devotional service, which is directing us towards the highest position of life, which is to attain pure love for Krishna. And in the process, we find different kinds of people from different levels of consciousness. For instance, the Kumaras were at a level of undifferenced monism and they're about to be transformed into Krishna bhaktas. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When we have service, we feel naturally satisfied. My tendency is, in material consciousness, to think, "Why aren't people serving me enough?" And that's why I'm dissatisfied. "Let's make a list: my such-and-such isn't serving me enough." Suggestions -Wife, husband, start there. Let's start at home. "The kids aren't serving me enough. Who else?" My contractor, whatever it may be. You can make a long list, and you say, "They're not serving me enough." You'll be in endless anxiety, because no one will ever serve you enough, and we'll never be able to serve them enough, either, on the materialistic level. But for ourselves, when we say, "How can I be of service?" and we go into service mind, rather than the false ego of "Why aren't people serving me enough?" then there's a sense of relief, natural relief. It's a very simple switch: from being the center or trying to find a place that's comfortable for me, to being a servant. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Vaisesika Dasa discusses the importance of hearing and serving pure devotees as outlined in Srimad Bhagavatam 1.2.16. He explained that devotees, free from vice, are bridges to higher spiritual realms. The conversation emphasized the significance of Vaishnava association, or sadhu sanga, for spiritual advancement. Vaisesika Dasa highlighted the stages of devotional service, from shraddha (faith) to bhava (prema), and the role of devotees in transforming asuras (non-devotees) through their association. Practical tips for managing friendships and developing a taste for reading Srimad Bhagavatam were also provided.
When all else fails, chant Harē Kṛṣṇa, and everything else will fail. There's no question about it; any of my plans that don't include chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa will fail. In fact, even the best-laid plans of the most intelligent people in the world always get reversed one way or the other in this world. So, we have to come to the position of submission to the will of the Supreme Lord, and the best way to express that is by chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa sincerely. In fact, just the idea of every day taking time just to say Kṛṣṇa's names over and over again, exclusively, is a form of submission. Say "your will, not my will," and then "you're in charge, not me." And Prabhupāda mentions, throughout his teachings, the ways in which by chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa, all the energies from all sides are synchronized. And so, there's a growing sense for those who chant Harē Kṛṣṇa that this is the only solution. In fact, oftentimes, Prabhupāda would answer devotees' inquiries about what to do about this or that. He'd say, "Well, just chant Harē Kṛṣṇa." And it works, because Kṛṣṇa is God, and we're His parts and parcels, and we must be submissive. Otherwise, we don't feel satisfied. In submission, we actually feel happy. It's the independent spirit trying to break off from Kṛṣṇa and be the big man here in this material world. That's very difficult and challenging and mentally straining. So, devotees are happy because they submit to Kṛṣṇa. The best way to submit to Kṛṣṇa is to chant His Holy Names. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu mentioned that there are multiple benefits from chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa, including that the disease that causes my departure from Kṛṣṇa's instructions—the envy within the heart and so forth—becomes rectified by chanting His names. And I also am introduced to the concept of real good fortune in the world. I get knowledge, and I'm able to conquer the material world by the power of Kṛṣṇa's Holy Names. So, it's a good idea. Chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa is the best idea there is. If you list all the ideas that are available in this world, chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa is not just at the top of the list; it's light years away from any other idea that anybody might have. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
I was just in a redwood forest a couple of days ago. Wednesday, I was there. Today's Friday. I was in Muir Woods. Looking with a friend of mine, we were looking at the trees, and you have to strain your neck to see upwards; they're so tall! Then we were looking at a seed of one of the redwood trees that is there, and it is minuscule. How does it all start? It starts from a seed. How much information is in that seed, enough to grow a huge tree? And all you have to add is light and water and a little air, some earth, and you've got a tree. This is given as a metaphor for the whole universe. The universe comes in seed form, then expands into all the forms that we see now. All that's needed is a little attention from the glance of the original source, and then everything else opens from a seed. So, in this way, there are many of the world's phenomena that are mentioned in the ancient wisdom literature, not the least of which is the Bhagavad Gītā, which talks about how to see everything in the world as part of the source, and therefore you're never separated from the source, because you can always meditate on that source. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #successsadhana #lessonsfromthegoldenmonk #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
This morning, I was reading a eulogy of my dear godbrother, Jayananda Ṭhākura, who is very dear to Śrīla Prabhupāda. And Śrīla Prabhupāda had written him a letter that I very much appreciated, regarding the chanting of the holy name, and it has a very straightforward purport. So I wanted to read it to you. And here's what he wrote: 1967 Prabhupāda wrote the following: 'Your service attitude for Kṛṣṇa and your sincere attempts at being advanced in Kṛṣṇa consciousness will work with you and make your life more and more glorious and a happy state. I have been very glad that you are appreciating by yourself the effects of sincere Kṛṣṇa consciousness. I have nothing new to instruct you. The same old instruction, namely, constant chanting and attentively hearing the transcendental vibration Hare Kṛṣṇa is the only process for self-realization in this age. In San Francisco, while you were driving your car, and I was sitting by you, hearing Your transcendental vibration, this very sincere attempt has enriched your consciousness. And my only instruction is that you may constantly do this habit without fail." So Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura said, "Apply the simple path very strictly." So there's a way in which Prabhupāda says here, "There's no new instruction I have for you." And this is one of the ways the mind tries to trick us by saying, "There must be something more sophisticated." But Prabhupāda comes back and says, "No, this is the simple process." He says, "This is the same old instruction: chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." So knowing that everything is there for improvement on all levels is a calming factor to the mind—that just be there. Just hear the vibration, bypass the mind, go straight from the lips into your heart, and be confident that this is the only process that will be effective in this age. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When the devotees first went to India, Prabhupāda was there, and he invited devotees to come over because he wanted to show what happened. You know, he went alone to America, and he comes back with all these Americans. In India, at the time, people were looking to Americans and go, like, 'How are we going to catch up to these guys? We want what they have.' And then Prabhupāda plays this trick on them, where he comes to America, he gets all these Westerners, and he comes back with a big airplane full of Westerners. 'Here you go. They want what you are supposed to want, which is pure love for God.' In Surat, devotees went there, and they were having kīrtana, and people came out of their houses, and they were grabbing the dust after the devotees walked there, so much so that there were holes in the road! And devotees were surprised and taken aback, and they asked Prabhupāda later, 'Why were they doing that?' And he said, 'Because you follow the four regulative principles and you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, anywhere you go in the world, you'll be honored because of them.' The greatest desire one can have is what Prahlāda Mahārāja showed us: 'Oh my Lord, if I have any desire within my heart, let it be no material desire, only the desire to serve You.' So we have the stark examples: Hiraṇyakaśipu—boo! And then you have Prahlāda Mahārāja, he's worshipable to us. In fact, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, when He would sit with Gadādhara Paṇḍita to hear Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, He wanted to hear that story over and over again. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta told all his disciples to read Prahlāda 108 times. Hear that story over and over and over and over again, and he's famous, Prahlada Maharaja. He's famous all over the world because of that. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Last year in Kārtika, one of our devotees, Kṛṣṇa-sakha, was on Govardhana parikramā, and just came around the hill. A boy who was begging started to follow him, and he followed him for several kilometers. And Kṛṣṇa-sakha said no, and the boy kept following, and they got to Rādhā-kuṇḍa. And then he kept following. They'd gone a quarter of the way around Govardhana Hill, and the boy kept following. And someone who saw that offered to give the boy something, but he said, 'No, I don't want anything from anybody else but him. I've already followed him this far,' and at some point, Kṛṣṇa-sakha realized that this is divine intervention. 'I don't know who this is. I should give him something.' And he looked in his pocket and he didn't have anything except for a very large bill. And good luck getting change anywhere in India! So, as if conducted by providence, he handed over the large bill to the small boy who now looks content enough to go on his way. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu comes to this world to give a dispensation that's never been given before: 'anarpita-carīṁ cirāt karuṇayāvatīrṇaḥ kalau samarpayitum unnatojjvala-rasāṁ sva-bhakti-śriyam hariḥ puraṭa-sundara-dyuti-kadamba-sandīpitaḥ sadā hṛdaya-kandare sphuratu vaḥ śacī-nandanaḥ (CC Ādi 1.4)'. Kṛṣṇa comes thinking, 'I have not given away the greatest gift forever. Can't even remember when. And what's more, people don't know about the topmost realm in the spiritual world. For there's an unceremonious love that actually pleases Me to the core of My heart.' So in Kali-yuga, He's ready to give away the big bills. All we have to do is beg," says Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura in this song, 'enechi aushadhi maya nasibaro lagi'.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhukirtans #kirtan #spiritualmusic #soulfulmusic #song #spiritualawakening #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
We're not going out to collect money, really. We're going out for our own purification, first and foremost. It's a high sādhana to go out into the great unknown and present the Vedic literatures to people. And it's also something that they really appreciate too, because frankly, life is really boring in the material world. Same things happen all the time, and people are sick and tired of it, and they're waiting for devotees to come door to door. In fact, Prabhupāda wrote in his poem "Vṛndāvane Bhajan," before he came to America, "The people are sitting in their homes, and they're looking out the window down the road, and they're wondering, "When are Nitāi and Gaurāṅga going to come and save me?" Did you know that that's what they're doing in their houses? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

O jiva soul, arise and give up your sleep. Chant the holy names of Lord Hari, who is the giver of liberation; the enemy of the Mura demon; the supreme enjoyer; the all-attractive one; and the horse-headed incarnation, Hayagriva. 2) Lord Hari [Krsna] incarnated as the half-man, half-lion, Nrsimha. He appeared as a dwarf-brahmana named Upendra and is the killer of the Madhu demon. He is the beloved son of the King of Vraja, Nanda Maharaja, and is blackish in complexion. He is the slayer of the Putana witch and the destroyer of the demon Kaitabha. All glories to Lord Hari, who appeared as Lord Rama, the son of King Dasaratha. 3) He is the darling of mother Yasoda; the giver of pleasure to the cows, land, and spiritual senses; and the protector of the cows. He is the Lord of the Vrndavana forest; the gopis' beloved; the lover of Radhika; and the most beautiful personality in all the worlds. 4) As Ramacandra He brought about the end of the demoniac King Ravana; as Krsna He stole the older gopis' butter; He stole the younger gopis' clothes while they were bathing in the Yamuna. He is a cowherd boy of Vraja and the protector of the cowherd boys. He steals the hearts of all and always holds a flute. 5) Lord Krsna is worshiped by the best of yogis and is the son of Nanda. He removes all the fears of the inhabitants of Vraja. He is the color of a fresh rain cloud, and His form is enchanting. When He wanders about, playing His flute, He looks very charming. 6) He is the son of Yasoda and the killer of King Kamsa, and He sports in the rasa dance among the groves of Vraja. Krsna engages in this rasa dance underneath the kadamba trees, and He resides in the forest of Vrndavana. 7) He increases the ecstasy of His devotees. He is the reservoir of all love and is the transcendental Cupid who uses His flowered arrows to increase the loving desires of the gopis. He is the pleasure of the gopis' hearts and the abode of all wonderful qualities. 8) Lord Krsna is the life of the River Yamuna. He is always absorbed in amorous pastimes, and He is the moon of the gopis' minds, which are like the cakora birds that subsist only upon moonlight. O mind, obey these words of mine and sing the glories of Sri Krsna in the form of these holy names, which are full of nectarean mellows. We're eternal servants of Kṛṣṇa , and when we're able to find that seed which is given to us by association of pure devotees, that the only thing that is important to me ultimately is the sincere desire to serve Kṛṣṇa with no motivation, even if we're not able to act in that position yet, when we know and recognize that I have that desire seed within my heart, it will grow, and Kṛṣṇa will reward that. If He rewarded Pūtanā, if He rewarded Pauṇḍraka, and who can even find the desire seed within their hearts to serve Kṛṣṇa, how much more will He reciprocate with somebody who's sincerely trying, even if unable to do it? Kṛṣṇa gives such encouraging words in Bhāgavatam, like 'jāta-śraddho mat-kathāsu nirviṇṇaḥ sarva-karmasu veda duḥkhātmakān kāmān parityāge 'py anīśvaraḥ (SB 11.20.27-28)' He said, "You may know you don't want any part of the material world, but you're not able to detach from it because of so many present habits you've developed from past association." He said, "But don't worry, keep up. Just go on with the process, because that seed of pure devotional service that you have in your heart will fully manifest by My grace." There's a very encouraging purport in the light of the Bhagavata in which Prabhupāda says that once you've recognized that desire in your heart and expressed it even one time - 'sakṛd eva prapanno yas,' that's from the Rāmāyaṇa—that Vibhishana said, you know, "I'm your servitor." And Rāmachandra said, "Anyone who says that, from that day forward, I'm their protector. I'm always there for them. I'll never forget that they said that." If we are able to come forward in devotional service to serve the Lord in that way, then Prabhupāda writes that even if you change your mind, the devotional service by its own force will drag you to perfection. So better to inform ourselves of the perfection that we already have as living entities, as servants of the Lord, and water that seed as much as possible in all circumstances by being very submissive to the process of devotional service. Don't take anything personally in this world; it's all for our purification. Just depend on the mercy of Kṛṣṇa. And Prabhupāda alludes to that in the purport. He said, "The perfectional mentality of 'sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaḿ śaraṇaḿ vraja,'—just take shelter of Kṛṣṇa." You may be confused; you may not know exactly how everything works together, whatever it is, as Prabhupāda indicates in this purport, it's from Kṛṣṇa's words, 'mā śucaḥ.' He said, Prabhupāda writes, "But such worry is useless. Just surrender to Kṛṣṇa, and He'll take care of everything." That's real perfection in life, even if we're imperfect. If we have that conviction that if I surrender to Kṛṣṇa, there is a God, and I'm not Him, and if I surrender to Him, He's perfect, and He'll make everything else perfect—that's all you need. If you start there, and you give your heart and soul to watering that seed, then everything will manifest in due course of time. The purpose of the creation, ultimately, is to give the living entities an opportunity to come out of this illusion. And Saṅkarṣaṇa, who is not intimately, but somehow indirectly—connected with the creation of the material world, as mentioned in the Fifth Canto of the Bhāgavatam, before He starts His destruction in the material world through the agency of Rudra, He becomes a little annoyed because He's given unlimited chances for the jīvas in the material world to come back to their senses and come back to Him, and then they say, 'Oh no, I'm not interested.' And it's in that sense of annoyance that the Rudras pop from His forehead and start their dance of destruction and burn down the material world. And then it starts over again, giving an opportunity for all living entities to come back to Godhead. So we can take from this many things. Two general things are that the material world is perfectly accommodating, and if we just adjust ourselves to Kṛṣṇa's purpose, then just as every living being is being fully accommodated to try to enjoy the material world in exactly the way that that living entity wants to be accommodated, we will be fully accommodated in the spiritual world, even if our desire is minuscule. The Lord is waiting for that tiny desire, even of the living entity, to say, 'No, I would like to have You instead.' If He's accommodated every living being to enjoy the material world in exactly the way he or she wants to, makes sense that since His main purpose is for us to come back to Him, that He would also accommodate our desire for devotional service. And the other lesson is that.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

If somebody unjustly takes your property, rendering selfless service doesn't mean, 'Oh, yeah, let everyone violate me, and I'll just sit by passively.' That's not what it means. That's why I say it's not mutually exclusive. One must do one's duty dutifully. If you're in the corporate environment, however, I know for sure that there's a sense even from the top of the big corporations—that's why they invite people like us to come there and speak all the time. I'm going there on Tuesday to give a presentation, and there's an open invitation from so many of these corporations to come and hear wisdom that talks about higher values, like gratitude, like selflessness, Because what corporations have come to realize is that people cannot survive just by the rough and tumble of competition—that 'let us compete, and then the best person wins,' and then there's a kind of social Darwinism. People come fatigued by that, and they also don't do as well. The research, social research, is showing that people who have high-minded values can be more productive. If you do your due diligence, and you also have this sense of selflessness, like some of the corporations do, like even Marc Benioff has this way of giving away a lot of what he earns from the corporation. How's that working out? Fine. And what about other corporations like Tata? They give away, just by their bylaws, half of what they earn. I know a person very well who's a very successful entrepreneur. Lives in Singapore, but he commutes to Silicon Valley. He gives seminars on this, and the last one I attended just to observe, he was advocating for this idea that when you work for service, not only do you feel more satisfied, but he actually produced evidence, statistical evidence, that people do better financially, which is counterintuitive. And it also goes to the idea of, even within the realm of fundraising, people who give tend to be able to give more because they realize more capacity. By giving you do grow, and you can prove it on paper. And it's not just an amorphous idea, a sentimental idea, or something like that. So that's not mutually exclusive. You can protect your interests, which you should do, because you have to be able to work and earn a living, and you should do the best you can. And if there's some sense of somebody violating your space, you have to protect yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In Japan, where we go frequently, there's this little tranquil river that's barely flowing, but enough so that there's life in it, and it's beautiful. And retired people in Japan like to fish. Some do, and they'll stand by that little stream and they fish. When I go for my walks there, I watch, and I have never seen anybody catch anything, but what they do is they put the lure in the water, and then they pull it back and put it in and pull it back. With fishing, the fish has to see the lure and then get attracted to it and then bite. And so you can think of your mind like a fish. Fish are very fickle. They'll go off at any second; you look at them and make a wrong movement, they're gone. So you have to be a patient fisher and throw the lure and keep bringing it past. The mantra is the lure, and you keep bringing it past your mind. Keep bringing it past your mind, until the fish of your mind sees the lure. And then when you've captured it, when it's hooked on the mantra, then you've achieved a success. It's all successful, but that's something that is noticeably helpful to us when our mind actually gets caught on the hook of the holy name. After all, Kṛṣṇa means 'the attractor,' and the mind is attracted to everything else. But if you can get attracted to this name Kṛṣṇa and get caught on it, then you can reel it in, and then you'll feel that you've had this experience that will pervade the rest of your life. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #mantra #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The Lord's devotees have a special qualification in that, as Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā (6.32): "ātmaupamyena sarvatra samaṁ paśyati yo 'rjuna sukhaṁ vā yadi vā duḥkhaṁ sa yogī paramo mataḥ." They're the parama yogīs because, He says, they have compassion. Atmaupamyena means they feel empathy towards others because they've been through it themselves, and they know what the material world's like. Although Kṛṣṇa oversees the material world and there's a sense of the suffering of the living entities, the ones who feel it most intensely are those who've been in it and then have been saved by the Supreme Personality of Godhead and are given the opportunity, then, as a lifetime occupation, to go out and give mercy to others. And He describes, as everyone knows, several ways in which this potency of Kṛṣṇa appears through the devotees in this world, through the seemingly incidental way in which someone may introduce somebody to Kṛṣṇa consciousness—the vartmana pradakṣaka guru, somebody who shows you the path. Kṛṣṇa works through that person. There's serendipity there. Interestingly, that person who introduces one to the path may not even be fully aware that he or she is doing it. For instance, Bilvamaṅgala Ṭhākura is mentioned in the first chapter of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, and his girlfriend is the one he accredits for introducing him to the path of pure bhakti. He was just going to hang out, and she said, "What are you doing with your life? Couldn't you, like, get it together? You'd actually be a great devotee if you just use some of this energy for God." And it woke him up. So he eternally gives her credit as Kṛṣṇa is speaking to him through an agent called the vartmana pradakṣaka guru—guru, one who opens one's eyes from darkness into light. Then he describes how there are many instructors who speak on behalf of Kṛṣṇa, and then there's one who gives the mantra. And all of these, Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī describes as manifestations of Kṛṣṇa. It's the way that He appears in this world. Uddhava mentions at the end of the Uddhava-gītā: "naivopayanty apacitiṁ kavayas taveśa brahmāyuṣāpi kṛtam ṛddha-mudaḥ smarantaḥ yo 'ntar bahis tanu-bhṛtām aśubhaṁ vidhunvann ācārya-caittya-vapuṣā sva-gatiṁ vyanakti (SB 11.29.6)." He says to Lord Kṛṣṇa, 'That I cannot offer enough gratitude. I cannot express enough gratitude to You, because You appear in this world as the ācārya to sva-gatiṁ vyanakti, to show the path to You. And You also appear as the antaryāmī, the Supersoul within the heart.' As we know, and Kavirāja Gosvāmī quotes this in the first chapter of the Ādi-līlā: "teṣāṁ satata-yuktānāṁ bhajatāṁ prīti-pūrvakam dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ taṁ yena mām upayānti te" He uses the metaphor that 'I'm there ready to light a lamp and show you the direction if you become interested in Me.' He said, 'So You're there as the antarayāmī to show the path.' And then he said, 'You manifest externally as the different gurus who will show me the path. Externally walk me by the hand along the path of devotional service,' called anugraha. As graha means a grabber, and anu means follow. So somebody who makes you follow, like, 'No, no, come here. Hold on there, little fella, come over here for a second. We have a little something for you,' and that the devotees who are representing the Lord in the material world, although The Lord doesn't get involved; the devotees do that. They're little grabbers. People feel a little bit roughed up for a minute or two, and then they realize later on, "Oh, saved me from falling on the railway track, pulled me up, grabbed me from falling off the roof." As Prahlāda Mahārāja says..
It's broken down by Viśvanāth Cakravartī Ṭhākur in the Madhurya Kadambinī. He says, when you eliminate certain obstacles, then you're known to be in niṣṭhā. And I mentioned some of them, like sleep, distraction, the awakening of lower desires—suddenly they come out in different ways, indifference; you're not distracted, you're not sleepy, but you just don't care. Meh! All of that evaporates in time by good association, by following the process, and then one has this sense of no obstacle. There's nothing holding me back from the process. And that's called niṣṭhā—steadiness, consistency. From that platform, then one can make further advancement in devotional service; otherwise, we're always knocked back. So it's recommended that we really invest ourselves in getting out of the mire of bad qualities by seriously practicing devotional service till we come to niṣṭhā, then we can proceed to the next stage, which is ruci, where it's noticeable that we really want to hear. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When we become frustrated to the point of despair, there's an opening for us. And that opening for Arjuna in the Bhagavad-gītā was that he gave up. There's so much effort I put into trying to organize everything in the world so it'll come out straight, and it always comes out crooked. Prabhupāda mentions in one of his purports, in the Second Canto of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, that observing our own frustration can be enlightening because it means that we're incompatible with the nature of the world. And that's because, as he says, 'We are a different category of energy altogether.' We are consciousness, and consciousness can't be measured in the same way that material elements can. We have the controlled studies scientifically to come out with a predictable outcome, or as close as possible, so that we can say that there are certain principles that work uniformly in the world, but with consciousness, you can't apply the same measurements. It's impossible to use the same tools to measure it. We're subtler than matter, and it really bugs us. Bugs me. I'm always trying to get things to work right. And then I remember that purport where Prabhupāda says, 'Just notice that the material nature is clumsy.' I may attribute it to myself, but that's because I want more; I want something more refined. So in despair, we can find teachable moments—that is, times in which we feel so out of place in this world that we can come to a point of questioning why. And oftentimes this is the turning point. It is possible to not take advantage of despair, not take advantage of frustration, and just continually try to fix it or try to forget about it and become distracted. Oftentimes we do that. I'll speak for myself. So one of the big admonitions given in the Brahma-sūtra, otherwise known as the Vedānta-sūtra, is the introductory statement that now you've got a chance to inquire, ask a big question. It says, athāto brahma jijñāsā—means now that you've come to the human form of life, you have an opportunity to ask, 'Why? Why am I suffering?' Also, other questions could be there, like, 'Why do I have to die? Why do—why am I faced with non-permanence when I definitely feel like I shouldn't be?' That's a conundrum and can lead to a sense of angst, existential angst. And it's a relief to know, isn't it, that the wisdom literature knows us? Of course, I could go back to Vyasadeva. He's the one who compiled it, and put that question first amongst all the others, a myriad of questions that can be asked or statements that can be made, principles that can be expounded. But then he says, you do it, you ask, you ask, Why am I suffering, and what's the purpose of life? The implication is that there's an answer waiting for you. It's forthcoming ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife
The third theme, besides sincerity and wanting to help others, that's so prominent in Prahlāda's prayers is that he said, "My Lord," when he's right in front of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, he says, "I just want to serve my spiritual master." Kṛṣṇa has appeared for him. He's right in front of him, and he doesn't say, "I'll serve You, my Lord." He said, "I'll serve my spiritual master to serve You." And that mood of being the servant of the servant, servant of the servant, he said, "Nārada Muni saved me. My spiritual master saved me. So how could I ever forget his service?" What's the verse? Say it loud. Evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ prabhavāhi-kūpe kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā bhagavan gṛhītaḥ so 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām (SB 7.9.28) 'Bhṛtya,' I'll be the servant of my spiritual master. "How I was falling into a blind well full of snakes, but my spiritual master saved me from this. That's His mercy that I can see You." So he offers himself to a spiritual master. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
So, this is one of the very important lessons that Prahlād Mahārāj teaches us, is to become trained in the spiritual science. Don't neglect the Bhagavad-gītā. Or should I say it in the positive? It's better, isn't it, because that might go and you may think, 'Neglect the Bhagavad-gītā.' No. Read Bhagavad-gītā every day. How's that for a challenge? If one reads Bhagavad-gītā every day, then you won't have to make excuses for why you make mistakes, or why you made mistakes, or why you feel morose, or why you feel confused, and so forth, because those who read the Bhagavad-gītā every day don't get confused. They see things as they are, and they see the difference between matter and spirit. And that's fairly simple. Let me just check, do we have any Bhagavad-gītās? Just checking to see if we have them on site. Do we have any here? I heard that we've distributed over approximately 500 million books since Prabhupāda started book distribution, and we have a few of them here. Bhagavad-gītā is available. Do any of you have it at home? Just checking. It sounds simplistic, but sometimes the simple things are the true answer. It's called Occam's razor. So if you take this challenge that Prahlād Mahārāj is putting out—educate yourself the way a geologist becomes educated to see the way the world's actually working and to find out where the gold is—then you'll never be bewildered. So if you read at least a chapter of Bhagavad-gītā every day, hear the verses, and go deeply within the purports as much as possible, then you'll see the world and find the great treasures in life and avoid the difficulties. Now, speaking of difficulties, Prahlād Mahārāj also talks about that. He says.. Of all the practices, japa is the most essential. It's the one that we do ourselves. We depend on our own sincerity to fuel the process. In the beginning, we also do it as a medicinal process, as when a doctor gives a prescription and says, "Take this many for the next two weeks, and then don't miss a dose. If you do, then make it up." And when the medicine acts, then we can see for ourselves its efficiency. In the beginning, we have to trust the doctor, and we have to trust the medicine. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī uses this word, nirṇītaṁ. He said, "Don't worry, this medicine is highly potent. It's been vetted by all the best medical scientists in the world—spiritual scientists. And it's a doubtless and fearless way that one can make advancement in spiritual practice. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #japajolt #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Seventh Canto, ninth chapter, we get a kind of fruit because we hear the prayers that are coming from Prahlāda's heart, and from those we can learn many, many lessons. The fact that the Lord came to save Prahlāda and to answer his prayers, and hearing the prayers that Prahlāda offered, is an important exercise for the devotees because Prahlāda represents the foundational position from which one can actually enter into devotional service—that is, selfless service. As he says to Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, who offers him benedictions, "I don't want anything," and he really means it because Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva had to ask him a few times. They said, "No, take something." And Prahlāda said, "No, you're my master. I'm your servant. I serve Your command, and that's what I do. I don't want anything, please." And so this is a foundational point for those who are entering into the realm of bhakti: "I don't want anything in return." This is where one starts to notice the reciprocation of the Lord in a very sweet way—that I'm giving to the Lord without asking anything in return, and that He goes out of His way to give things to such a devotee. So there are many, many lessons we can take. We have a special treat, which is a bhajan written by Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, five prayers to Nṛsiṁhadeva in Navadvīpa. In a very revealing way. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura mentions that by his worship of Nṛsiṁhadeva, ostensibly in Nṛsiṁha Palli, and by rolling in the courtyard in ecstasy there at NṛsiṁhaPalli, the place where Nṛsiṁhadeva himself gives 24-hour darśana (the temple is never closed, because even if you go there and the door is closed, there's still a grid; you can look in and see Nṛsiṁhadeva), and of course, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura had a close relationship with Nṛsiṁhadeva in that Lord Narahari Deva had helped to reveal the actual birthplace of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That is, that from the vantage point in Godrumadvīpa (which some of you may have visited), there's a balcony on the house of Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, or where he and Śrīla Bhaktsiddanta Saraswati Ṭhākura resided together and did many of their writings. Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura would look out and, curiously, in the morning time, just before maṅgala-āratī, he would see a cloud of dust coming from Nṛsiṁha Palli all the way to the place where the Yoga Pīṭha, or the appearance place of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, is. And that was one of the ways that he triangulated to come to understand that Nṛsiṁhadeva himself was coming for the maṅgala-āratīk of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in that place. We find that Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, although sometimes people may say or opine that, "Well, he's a Vaikuṇṭha deity. What are you worshiping him for? Our destination is Goloka Vṛndāvana and vraja-prema." But you'll see in this next bhajan, after the Daśāvatāra Stotra, that Nṛsiṁhadeva was actually prevalent, ubiquitous almost, in the pastimes of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. He appears in various places, not the least of which is one of the first pastimes when the saṅkīrtana movement starts and Nṛsiṁhadeva personally comes and chastises the Kazi. The Kazi had tried to stop the saṅkīrtana, and Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva woke him up at night and put his nails into his chest and said, "Don't do that." And of course, there's Nṛsiṁhānanda Brahmacārī and other appearances of Lord Narahari Deva. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
We've noticed here at ISKCON of Silicon Valley, which is a small little laboratory somewhere tucked away in California where we experiment. We experiment and see how far can we push the goals and how far will Krishna meet us? And every single time we make a new goal, we're not sure how we're going to make it. In fact, it seems like last time it worked, but this time, everything's different. So how will we possibly do it this time? I propose that that's where real life is. It's in that gap where we know what we want to do for Krishna and we have that ambition, but we're not sure how we're going to do it, and we decide we're going to do it anyway, no matter what happens. We're going to try for it with all our heart. And then miracles happen, and right after they happen, and we reach the goal, then we say, or somebody says, "Yeah, but can you do it again next year?" And we have the same feeling all over again. Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura used to ask His devotees to spend money when they got it; someone would come along and give a big donation, and then he'd say, "Spend it all on a festival." He wanted them to feel this sense that "we're broke. And now what are we going to do? Depend on Krishna." When the devotees lived in Ulta Danga Junction Road, apparently they were very poor because someone, maybe it was Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta, or one of his disciples, said, "We were so poor. Now, remember, you're in Bengal, it was hard for us to even buy rice." That's hard to believe, because it's Bengal, where you can't not find rice. But that's how poor they were, and when they moved to the big temple in Bagh Bazar, with all the marble that somebody had already paid for, mortgage was clear, everything, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī said, "We were better off in old Danga, because there we had that sense of adventure, what's going to happen next?" And he noticed that devotees were starting to feel that "we're entitled. I've got my room now, and plus, I get to use the car." And then they start.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles will be towed away at the owner's expense." Means that if—if you leave your mind unattended and not engaged in Kṛṣṇa's service, it's like you just parked it somewhere in the wrong place, it'll get towed away. And when you get your mind towed away, if you've ever had your car towed away, you've got to go down to the impound and pay some exorbitant amount of money to get it back. It's not easy, and so don't park your mind in an improper place and just leave it there, because it will get towed so far away, you may not be able to find it again. Every worthy goal has a discipline. Some people work for becoming a surgeon—four years of college, seven years of medical school, residency, waiting for this and that, maybe to cure cancer. Is there a cure for cancer? No, but they still keep doing it. And there's this practice of reaching our original position with Kṛṣṇa in the spiritual world. What's that worth? Four years of college, seven years of special training? It's worth lifetimes, and every session of chanting japa is a testament to our determination to reach Kṛṣṇa, who says in His teachings to Uddhava, "This dedication that you have—bhaktyāham ekayā grāhyaḥ śraddhayātmā priyaḥ satām—it's very dear to Me." So if we remember that the goal is something beyond what anybody else is doing in this world, and that our orientation is towards Kṛṣṇa, despite whatever other duties we have to do in this world, our main process is pointing ourselves back home, back to Godhead. Every japa session is a welcome opportunity to lean into that determination and express to Kṛṣṇa from our heart, "This is what I really want." So we can use this session today. For some of us on the West Coast, it's still Akṣaya Tṛtīyā until the sun is fully up. But whatever, it doesn't matter. The main point is that every moment is an opportunity to express our sincere desire to reach Kṛṣṇa, so we can put that into the chanting today. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In the Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna says, "There is a right, there is a wrong. Wrong means you're going towards the darkness. Right means you're going towards the light, which is Krsna. And when you go towards darkness, then there's a repercussion. Your consciousness becomes dark, and there are dark ways in which you relate to other people, heartless ways. And what about animals? How could one even think of harming an animal when when one would think that there's a divine soul within and God's there next to him, within his heart?" Therefore, in the Śrī Īśopaniṣad it is said: 'yas tu sarvāṇi bhūtāny ātmany evānupaśyati sarva-bhūteṣu cātmānaṁ tato na vijugupsate (Īśo Mantra 6) This means that when one becomes aware of God, is looking towards the light and seeing God within everyone's heart, and every relationship, and every living being has a relationship with God and with me, then I don't hate anything or any being. What's more, I show respect everywhere, and when I don't show respect, when I ignore what is reality, and when that darkness comes in, I do things which cause more darkness in my life. Some people call it sin. We call it vikarma, or missteps that entangle us more and more in darkness. So Caitanya Mahāprabhu, in teaching Rūpa Gosvāmī, said, "As soon as you turn towards the light, then the darkness goes away. Kṛṣṇa, sūrya sama; māyā haya andhakāra." He said, "Ignorance is darkness, and Krsna is light. And when you turn toward Krsna, then the darkness goes away immediately. The reactions to activities done in darkness, which cause more reactions, called karmic reactions, become so numerous that we can't experience them all in one lifetime, and they're carried over to the next lifetime, the next lifetime, next lifetime." And this has been going on since time immemorial, and it's a process of suffering from one body to the next. So Caitanya Mahāprabhu said this chain of suffering caused by these reactions to ignorance can be immediately stopped by taking to the light. It means turning towards Krsna in what's called devotional service. And he quoted from the most valuable book for those who are eager to come into the light called the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. This is the book that points us directly to Krsna. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
By taking a little time to chant, either while you're sitting or you're standing, or even if you're walking, to repeat the mantra, you'll notice that it lifts the mind above the many thoughts about the past and the future. Often times, future is about worrying, past about lamentation, what I could have done. And when we chant the the mantra, then, by its very definition, Mantra, the the word tra comes from trayate, which means to deliver. The mind gets delivered from the myriad worries, lamentations that are constantly churning within the mind, and by the power of the mantra, we can notice that we're transcendental to the mind. We're also transcendental to the body, and we're not really part of this world altogether. We're part of the spiritual world, and even from here, we can feel that connection to the spiritual world just through the mantra. So Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who I described, the monk from 500 years ago, taught this as a process that anyone could take to doesn't matter where you're starting from, what your background is, if you sincerely chant the mantra the way a baby might cry out for its mother. When a baby cries for the mother, the mother hears the tone of the baby and knows, "oh, I better go quickly." And if we have that sincerity of purpose when we're chanting the mantra, then we'll also very quickly experience the results of our chanting. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualpurposeoflife #mantra #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
So in japa, this principle can be applied of asking Kṛṣṇa for what's most valuable, and we can ask again and again, because the mind might go to something lesser. The main obstacle is a clear path to a lesser goal, and in japa, we're forging a path to the highest goal, but it has to come from us, and that's why it's an individual practice. Kṛṣṇa wants to know especially what we want. He's attentive to every living entity in an individualized way. So if you remember that it's personal and that the only kind of chanting or asking that's fulfilling is if we ask Kṛṣṇa for what's most important, which is sincere service at His lotus feet, and to help us overcome any attraction to anything less than that. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
What Kṛṣṇa is saying is that if you find your sincerity and you offer it to Kṛṣṇa, and you say, "Kṛṣṇa, I'm Yours, and I will surrender to You and only depend upon You," then Kṛṣṇa is already there, as Gajendra, I mentioned, said, "He's there waiting." It's not that He becomes bored; He's always interested in us. He's always aware of us, and what He's mostly aware of, as we found out in this verse today, is our motive. That's the most secret thing within the heart. In the Bhagavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa says, rāja-vidyā rāja-guhyaṁ—it's secret. Why is it secret? Because someone may read it and think, "I'll make a new commentarian, then I'll become Kṛṣṇa." Or, "Who is this person?" Prabhupāda mentions. Some people say, "How audacious of Him to say, 'Surrender to Me.'" And there are scholars who are expert in dissecting the verses, but they have no intention of surrendering to Kṛṣṇa. Therefore, when they write about Kṛṣṇa or they give commentary on the Bhagavad-gītā, their commentaries are meaningless, what to speak of misleading. So the relationship we have with Kṛṣṇa can be immediately realized when we find in ourselves our motive, and even if it's very difficult to bring forth, if we find even a scintilla—is that's small enough. Scintilla? I don't know if a scintilla is smaller than a molecule, but there are different types of terms. One is about a specific element or entity. Scintilla means something very tiny—if we can find that, that's what's important. So this verse is a reminder that if we all were able to find that sincerity and offer to Kṛṣṇa and come what may offer ourselves in service—tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo, knowing that "I'm in Kṛṣṇa's hands, whatever happens because I'm a surrendered soul to Kṛṣṇa, everything that happens to me is for my purification." 'Drive with care' is something Kṛṣṇa points out in the Bhagavad Gita. First he says, "yānti deva-vratā devān pitṝn yānti pitṛ-vratāḥ bhūtāni yānti bhūtejyā yānti mad-yājino 'pi mām (BG 9.25)." Yanti means to go. He said, You can go any direction you want. In this universe, it's a matter of where you push your attention. Because where attention goes, energy flows. And he says you should drive with care, because, for instance, if you drive blindfolded, you're going to smash into somebody, and it's going to have a negative consequence on your life. So in the Gita, he talks about how you should be aware of how the world is comprised of three modes of material nature, and be careful where you associate yourself and how you interact with the world. Be very careful and deliberate where you go by getting knowledge about how to move towards a worthy destination and how to choose all the right circumstances so that you can keep moving in that direction. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When you're reading a book, if you've ever had the experience that you get finished with a paragraph, you know you read it. But if somebody said, "What did you just read?" you'd say, "I have no idea," because although my eyes are going down the page and somehow the reading process is happening, I'm thinking about something else, like signing up for the next set of classes or paying my taxes or something like that. So, when you're chanting, it's a time where you can become more observant of your mind and notice whether you're aware that you're chanting or not. And if you keep asking yourself that question, "Am I aware that I'm chanting?" it's simple, because you don't have to conjure anything. You just have to be aware that you're chanting and keep chanting and hear the mantra, and that's the main process. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
There's a principle that when you appreciate the good qualities in others, then they become part of you. But if you become envious of others, or don't try to understand actually what they're doing and you disparage them, then you lose that advantage. So in the culture of respect, when you see somebody that's doing something, I think you said it too. When you see somebody doing something better than you're doing it, you should have the humility to appreciate them and be able to approach them, and that way you can receive knowledge. I f you see somebody who's sincerely engaged in practicing God consciousness and chanting the Lord's Names, if you take the urge of envy, and then say something to knock them down a peg or two so that you feel better about yourself. Then not only do you lose the opportunity to take on their good qualities and do what they're doing. But there's also kind of a universal way in which when somebody is sincerely trying to worship God and then you say something bad about them, to defame them, then the person that they are aspiring to appreciate doesn't appreciate you. In this case, it's, it's Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And Krishna does take it personally when those who are His devotees are not spoken of kindly when they should be. So we should respect our own consciousness and realize that it's not to be wasted, because our consciousness is a part of the supreme consciousness. Therefore it's divine. We're units of the supreme like the sunshine is a unit of the sun. So we're the same as but different at the same time. So when we notice our own consciousness, we should be respectful of it and not waste it. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura gives this technique for success in chanting which is to beg. If you beg Kṛṣṇa for a place in devotional service, you will make advancement, although we're helpless—just tiny beings enveloped by the material energy and conducted by the modes of material nature—if we beg Him to be a servant and just keep begging over and over again, think of a very persistent beggar who follows somebody for miles and miles and miles and won't give up. That's how Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura says that he was successful. He received the Holy Name from Lord Caitanya because he begged for it. So, if you want it bad enough and you're willing to beg for it and just do whatever is necessary, let it all be in your voice and the chanting, and have your hand out: "Please, Kṛṣṇa, give me something, just even a molecule." ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
That's why we're always so confounded, because we're always trying to create a self. What is my relationship now, when I go to kindergarten with all these other kids that I never met before? What about in fifth grade? How do I adapt? Should I wear jeans or corduroys, or should I wear shorts? Who should I be like? Which identity should I take on now? And throughout our lives, trying to create a persona based on the material body and mind is extremely troublesome, and what to speak of the fact that it's untenable. You can't hold it. Whatever identity you have now will be diminished. It will change. It will be lost completely at a certain point. So, this is one of the tenets of the teachings of Jung—Jung and the Bhagavad-gītā. And finally, we have this statement: modern psychology and ancient wisdom both address this with beautiful parallels and profound differences. So, let's go into a few more of them. The problem: losing the self. This is a problem. We've lost ourselves. In the ancient Upaniṣads, this is called ātma-hā—death of the self. There is no death of the self, but we conceive that ourself has died, and we lose sense of our real self. And when we do that, we get into this trap. So, Jung says we get trapped in personas—masks. He calls them living for society's expectations. This is a sociological fact. Everyone is working very hard to put on the right mask in order to fit in. It's one of the deep needs of the human psyche: I have to fit in with everybody else. Therefore, I'll wear the appropriate mask at the appropriate time, whether it's in relationship to the family or to the greater society. One has to play a certain role and assume a certain sort of mask. He also says, "The unconscious gets repressed, leading to alienation and neurosis." I'll read that again. Maybe it resonates: "The unconscious gets repressed, leading to alienation and neurosis." And here's some from the Bhagavad-gītā. I'll give some summary comparison between what Jung said and what Bhagavad-gītā Kṛṣṇa says. In Bhagavad-gītā, the soul (ātmā) identifies with the temporary body and mind. This phenomenon is called māyā, which means it's a mistake, and it forgets its eternal divine nature. If you remember your eternal divine nature and you're aware of it, you don't have a problem. The problem comes when you forget it. Next, this leads to suffering and endless rebirth—this is called saṁsāra. One thing leads to another. The world is accommodating our desires, and our misguided sense of self leads us to misguided desires, which are then accommodated by this material nature, which is very mechanical, and we end up moving from one temporary situation to another. And in each one of them, we're striving for something that cannot be achieved. We cannot find permanence in a temporary world. That's our problem. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark
I find that when something looks too hard, then it's easy to get discouraged. If you put the bar low enough, and someone says, "So anybody could do that," that's a good place for it, which is what Lord Caitanya is doing there. So oftentimes, devotees become intimidated because they think, "It's too hard," or "It's too much," but there are many encouraging statements like that in the śāstra. Can you hand me a Bhagavad-gītā? Is there one available right there? If you can't get a Bhagavad-gītā in a Hare Krishna temple, I don't know. So, at 3.31, this is one of my favorite encouraging purports, and it has to do with doing what you can with what you have now, because there's another phenomenon, which is, "Because I can't do everything, I won't do anything." And in this verse, Krishna says, "One who executes his duties according to My injunctions and who follows this teaching faithfully, without envy, becomes free from the bondage of the fruit of actions." And Prabhupāda writes the following in his purport: "The injunction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, is the essence of all Vedic wisdom, and therefore is eternally true without exception. As the Vedas are eternal, so this truth of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is also eternal. One should have firm faith in this injunction without envying the Lord. There are many philosophers who write comments on the Bhagavad-gītā but have no faith in Kṛṣṇa. They will never be liberated from the bondage of the fruit of action, but an ordinary man with firm faith in the eternal injunctions of the Lord, even though unable to execute such orders, becomes liberated from the bondage of the law of karma. In the beginning of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one may not fully discharge the injunctions of the Lord, but because one is not resentful of this principle and works sincerely, without consideration of defeat and hopelessness, he will surely be promoted to the stage of pure Kṛṣṇa consciousness." Do you find that encouraging? https://vedabase.io/en/library/bg/3/31/ ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #sincerity #spiritualstudy #spiritualpurposeoflife #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Once, when we were in a spot where there was no light whatsoever, no moon and no cities nearby, I stepped out of the car, and the stars were so bright, I was almost knocked on my back. I had an existential moment thinking, "Oh, I'm in a universe I forgot. And look at all these planets that abound." There's a universal form of the Lord described in the Bhagavad-gītā and the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. But beyond that, there's the original beauty of the Supreme Personality of God Himself that's so captivating that He's known as Kṛṣṇa. It means He captivates everyone. There was a song written by George Harrison many years ago, "There's something in the way she moves." Actually it was originally "in the way He moves," but the producers thought, "Well, that won't fly." He was talking about Kṛṣṇa, "That attracts me like no other lover," and he was just singing a song. And there are myriad songs, not just from one who heard about Kṛṣṇa from someone else, but you go to the great ācāryas and poets, and they'll be saying—they'll—they'll want to write the choicest poetry. That's why Kṛṣṇa is called uttama-śloka. Everyone wants to write something to try to describe the limit of Kṛṣṇa's beauty, and they never get to that point of describing the limit, because it's unlimited. It's always becoming more beautiful and more captivating. And without this beauty, we're relegated to the reflection of beauty in the material world. Whatever natural scene we see, if you've ever noticed, it can't completely satisfy the heart. It doesn't reciprocate. There's a verisimilitude. It's the reflection of reality, and therefore we're attracted to it, and it's breathtaking for a moment, but you can't keep it within you. You can't—it doesn't reciprocate with you. But Kṛṣṇa is beauty, because His beauty, His opulence is non-different from Himself. By seeing Kṛṣṇa, the ultimate object for the for meditation—dheyam sadā—one can continuously, says the Bhāgavatam, look at Kṛṣṇa's beauty, and you'll never get tired of it. Other scenes you make you might get used to. If you've seen the ocean enough times, then you think, "Oh, I'm going to go somewhere else." Seeing enough sunsets, you forget about it, like, "Oh, that's suns to get in my eyes. Close the curtains. Let's watch TV." The Bhāgavatam says that everyone's looking for that beauty everywhere. There's never a time we're satisfied by it, until we see Kṛṣṇa, who's the source of all beauty. And this is what's available through bhakti-yoga—is the beautiful form of Kṛṣṇa and the descriptions of His beauty. And Rūpa Gosvāmī said, "This is the second element by which one doesn't even care about—" one who has seen the beauty of Kṛṣṇa and is pursuing the beauty of Kṛṣṇa no longer cares about liberation. They're only addicted to that. "I just want to see the beauty of Kṛṣṇa." ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------
Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! he Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! he Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! rakṣa mām Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa! pāhi mām That is, “O Lord Kṛṣṇa, please protect Me and maintain Me.” He also chanted: Rāma! Rāghava! Rāma! Rāghava! Rāma! Rāghava! rakṣa mām Kṛṣṇa! Keśava! Kṛṣṇa! Keśava! Kṛṣṇa! Keśava! pāhi mām That is, “O Lord Rāma, descendant of King Raghu, please protect Me. O Kṛṣṇa, O Keśava, killer of the Keśī demon, please maintain Me.” https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/7/96/ Chanting this verse, Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, known as Gaurahari, went on His way. As soon as He saw someone, He would request him to chant “Hari! Hari!” (CC Madhya 7.97) https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/7/97/ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ (USA only) https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered
Prabhupāda also says that one can be attentive when one has a sense of love for Kṛṣṇa, and following the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa requires some adjustment to one's lifestyle and also consciousness, in that we remember that "I'm helpless," as Kuntī says, "let go of any sense that you have a maintainer or protector, and just take shelter of Kṛṣṇa, then your chanting will be effective." 'Janmaiśvarya-śruta-śrībhir edhamāna-madaḥ pumān naivārhaty abhidhātuṁ vai tvām akiñcana-gocaram (ŚB 1.8.26). So it's the one opportunity we have. Of course, every moment is an opportunity, but this is very deliberate to aim our consciousness like an arrow towards Kṛṣṇa, and we can be very focused by feeling ourselves helpless. And as Caitanya Mahāprabhu said: "tṛṇād api su-nīcena taror iva sahiṣṇunā amāninā māna-dena kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ" (Śikṣāṣṭakaṁ, Verse 3) being utterly dependent on Kṛṣṇa and realizing our own ineptitude. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
