Rekha walked away from corporate success and created a model that allows families to live, work, and learn anywhere in the world, combining personalized education with global travel and purpose-driven living. We talk about releasing guilt, trusting the inner voice, and what happens when you let go of what the world expects—and instead, follow what your Highest Self is trying to say. This episode is for every woman who feels like she's outgrown the script she's been handed. It's your permission to rewrite it.Highlights:02:50 — From Bedrest to BreakthroughWhen the world stopped moving, Rekha's clarity began. Welcome to Khandaan: A Bollywood Podcast where we're continuing with our 80s Dhamaaka episodes. This week we have UMRAO JAAN. One of the most iconic cinematic moments of 1981, Umrao Jaan is widely considered to be Rekha's most celebrated performance. Directed by Muzaffar Ali and with enduring music by Khayyam, Rekha plays the role of a famous courtesan who navigates love and family in the midst of the Sepoy Rebellion of 1857. Costarring Naseeruddin Shah, Farooq Shaikh, Raj Babbar, Shaukat Azmi, Dina Pathak and others, Umrao Jaan is an essential part of 80s Hindi cinema. A big Shoutout to our friend Dj Shai Guy for the 80's Dhamaka Theme song. You can check out more of Shai's work here

Rekha Gupta Vows to Finish Kejriwal in Delhi | Congress vs Rohit Sharma | Vijay Sardana
Harsh Kumar and Sanjay Dixit break down Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's sharp attack on Arvind Kejriwal. They also delve into the legal and political dimensions of the Sambhal Masjid dispute, analyzing its broader implications. The conversation further explores the evolving political landscape in Punjab, shedding light on key power shifts and strategies. Additionally, they preview Mayawati's plans for Uttar Pradesh—will she regain lost ground, or is BSP's influence fading?
Dr. Rekha Kumar, Chief Medical Officer at Found, is focused on weight care, not just weight management, to provide personalized medical care. GLP-1 medications have changed the landscape of obesity treatment, providing doctors with more effective tools for patients, but they don't work for everyone. With this telehealth approach, patients engage with the platform to determine a tailored treatment plan based on each patient's unique biology, lifestyle, and history. There is also an increased stigma around obesity due to the availability of GLP-1s, reinforcing the need for new medications and approaches based on real-world outcomes. Rekha explains, "I would say the way GLP-1s have changed this entire field of medicine is that doctors now feel like they have a tool that works that they can offer their patients. Although GLP-1s don't work perfectly in everybody, and there may be people who don't respond well to them for decades or longer than decades, doctors felt like all they could tell patients was to eat less and exercise more. Even when doctors said that, I think they felt like what they were offering wasn't very useful. Now, an actual tool, or a class of medicine, can be very effective for patients." "I am looped into the conversation on stigma. In some ways, it's been helpful to that conversation in the sense that people like Oprah have come out and said that now she realizes biology is involved in body weight control and that thin people are wired differently. They don't have as much of a preoccupation with food or noise." "In some ways, it's reduced the stigma by bringing attention to the role of biology and hormones that contribute to our body weight that we don't have control of. Unfortunately, now that there is this tool that's so powerful, some would say that it's made weight stigma worse because if somebody chooses not to take this medicine, they're judged for not wanting to be thin." #JoinFound #WeightCare #WeightManagment #Obesity #GLP1 joinfound.com Download the transcript here

An inexperienced crew of administrators aspiring to be field operators are assigned to a distant star system, where they encounter a sentient nebula. Genre: Science Fiction Excerpt: The newly appointed Captain Dorus gazed at his new crew, each one interviewed and hand-picked by him. The not-so-hotshot pilot, Orson, who retired early after she was nearly killed flying into a star during a practice maneuver. The experienced engineer, Rekha, whose tendency to tinker a little too much got her booted off the first four ships she was assigned to. A doctor, Shade, who had no specialty because she kept getting distracted by new discoveries. And the actor, Kellu, whose purpose there no one—including himself—quite understood. What's the Writing Prompt that inspired the story? No prompt. This idea came to me this morning, inspired by a binge-watch session of a show I once enjoyed (“Legends of Tomorrow,” Season 3). I've always loved the idea of a ragtag crew onboard a spaceship having adventures and doing stuff together and…stuff. The podcast is back after a five month hiatus. We break the silence with Shyam Benegal's 1981 masterpiece Kalyug. Kalyug is a an adaptation of Mahabharata. Film was seen as a bit ahead of its times in 1981 the year of its release as it brought together a film maker like Bengal who is seen as pioneer of parallel Hindi cinema and modern day film stars like Shashi Kapoor, Rekha and Raj Babbar. The film presented a mouth watering opportunity to both Saahil and Saqib to construct an episode for the podcast. Hope the listeners enjoy the chat as much the hosts enjoyed the film and talking about it.

To celebrate the birthday of the great Rekha, we watched Utsav (1984), Girish Karnad's adaptation of the ancient Sanskrit play Mrichakatika. In our totally unbiased opinion this is Rekha's film through and through, but really everyone and everything else is great, with one exception that you can probably guess. This is one of our favorite Rekha performances! What are yours? Other discussions: • Is Rekha the best Hindi film actress for sensuality and sexual forthrightness? • The jewelry!!! • Isn't it amazing that Shashi Kapoor produced so many fantastic films in such a short window (1979–1984)? • Does Kulbhushan Kharbanda have BDE? They're joined by Aoife Kilmurray from Vialto's Dublin office, who reveals that O'Brien has a wealth of options when it comes to working on the Emerald Isle.

The UEFA European Football Championship tournament is already under way in Germany and, while he took a nasty knock on the nose in the opening match, Kylian Mbappé is still expected to lead his fellow Frenchmen deep into the competition. Since cementing his superstar status at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Monsieur Mbappé is no stranger to traveling the world for club and country, but—as massive football fans themselves—Shai and Rekha wanted to know just how he does it. They talk to Mostafa Massoud, one of Vialto's immigration experts located in Frankfurt, to discuss the ins and outs of Kylian's German adventure.
