In fact, one of Prabhupāda's godbrothers had said many years ago—just after Prabhupāda had left that Prabhupāda was an āveśa, or an empowered person, to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world. One of the devotees asked this godbrother, who was a well-wisher of Prabhupāda, 'What kind of āveśa?' And he said, 'Nityānanda-āveśa'—especially empowered by Nityānanda to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world. Otherwise, how could he have come as a great ācārya and sat by himself for one year in New York City and tolerated the cold and then the heat and then just the culture shock? When he started teaching Kṛṣṇa consciousness to others, they had no idea, did the young people who he was or what anything meant. In fact, so much so that they would come, have a feast, go home, and leave everything for Prabhupāda to clean up, not thinking that maybe we should help. But one day they did, and they got service, and then devotees began to make advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So we have this opportunity, being under the shelter of Śrīla Prabhupāda and the movement in which we're worshiping Lord Nitāi and Gaurāṅga. In the pastimes of Lord Nityānanda and Lord Caitanya, we find that it is especially beneficial to chant the names of Nitāi and Caitanya, because They do not consider any offenses. When we chant, “Śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu-nityānanda śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda,” and then chant, “Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare; Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare,” we can very quickly make advancement in devotional service. When we were visiting recently in Navadvīpa-dhāma, the place of Dhameśvara Mahāprabhu, we had a big kīrtana on our yātrā. There were some māyāvādī sannyāsīs there who were watching us. And when we chanted Hare Kṛṣṇa, they didn't dance, and they didn't open their mouths to chant. (there were no masks back then, so we could tell!) Then we started to sing this next song about Lord Caitanya, Nityānanda, and their unlimited mercy. And then they went wild, and they started dancing and singing. So this is the benefit of singing Nitāi and Gaurāṅga, because Lord Nityānanda is so merciful that He doesn't consider any offenses and anybody can enter into the process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness under the shelter of Nitāi and Gaurāṅga. This is the song... ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #nityananda #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritu

So what we have here is an institution meant to continually channel the water that Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, brought from the great ocean of mercy of Kṛṣṇa. We're kind of like civil engineers, right? Sometimes they cut channels like Mulholland; Los Angeles wouldn't be a name right now if Mulholland, a very expert engineer, hadn't figured out how to "steal" all the water from Northern California (you can tell where I'm from) and bring it down to Los Angeles to make the desert fertile. Economics, I learned from an economics book, is the science of managing scarce resources and thereafter the law of supply and demand; but we learn from the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta that there is no scarce resource in the spiritual world. The more we channel the mercy of Nityānanda Prabhu to the world, the more the supply increases. That's a Haribol! That's a secret of success. Also, when we have an institution meant to distribute mercy, "the devil is in the details," but we can come out of the details by principles. And one of the principles that Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu exhibited and taught to the world is the principle of adoṣa-darśī. Everyone is envious in the material world—my brother gets a raise, and I think, "Darn"; somebody else leads a great kīrtana, it feels like ughh!! As Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, this is the lingering disease in the material world. Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu represents the uttama-adhikārī who sees beyond the faults of all living entities, which are cataloged by Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura in the Fourth Canto of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in his commentary, where he says there are four kinds of people that are highly expert at finding faults, some are better at it than others. And there are four kinds of saintly persons who are expert at following finding the good qualities in others. The first fault-finder sees that there are good qualities and bad qualities and then he only sees the bad; second, he's more advanced, he sees the good and bad qualities so he brings up the bad quality to make sure everybody knows about it; the third doesn't even see any good qualities, just sees the bad; and the fourth is so expert that even in those that only have good qualities, he finds some fault. Conversely, in those who represent Lord Nityānanda to one degree or another, the first sees good and bad qualities but chooses to see the good; the second one sees good and bad and brings up the good quality; the third doesn't see the bad quality, just the good; and the fourth, even in a person who is sudurācāra, who has no good qualities factually, a person who is a representative of Lord Nityānanda finds a good quality. The lotus feet of Lord Nityananda are a shelter where one will get the soothing moonlight not only of one, but of millions of moons. If the world wants to have real peace, it should take shelter of Lord Nityananda. Unless one takes shelter under the shade of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda, it will be very difficult for him to approach Radha-Krsna. If one actually wants to enter into the dancing party of Radha-Krsna, he must firmly catch hold of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda. Any person in any part of the world can take up this simple process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and using resources to help expand the Saṅkīrtana movement; and Prabhupāda showed how successful that can be. Caitanya Mahāprabhu also taught that it's important to avoid offenses while chanting, and one of the ways to avoid offenses is to take shelter of Lord Nityānanda and Lord Caitanya, because Lord Nityānanda is adoṣa-darśī—He doesn't see anybody's faults. Do you know anybody like that? It's pretty rare. But there's a description by Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam about different classes of people in this world who find faults. He says that some people are professional fault-finders.They're so expert at finding faults in others that even when there are no faults in somebody, they're able to find one and bring it up. That's a professional fault-finder. If you ask somebody what they do for a profession, they could say, 'I'm a professional fault-finder.' I said something about, 'Don't find faults in others,' and somebody wrote something back saying, 'This is a faulty conclusion; you should try to find fault with people.' Then he talks about someone who is adoṣa-darśī—that even when there is an obvious fault, the person doesn't see any fault. Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura gave an example: He said if somebody is very charitable, then the person who is a fault-finder might say, "Oh yes, he's charitable, but he's going to become very puffed up because he's giving charity. Actually, probably then people will start giving him money too and making him famous, and then he'll accept it all, and then he'll fall down—so it doesn't amount to much." Then he gave an example of somebody who doesn't find faults. He mentioned a householder. One night a burglar came in, and when the residents of the house woke up, the burglar had a weapon and said, "Give me all your riches." So they started handing over the riches. When he left, the householder said, "Oh, he's very pious! First of all, he really needed the money, because otherwise, why would he even come in here? And second of all, he had a weapon and he didn't harm any of us. Such a pious, nice person." Anyway, he gave these examples, but Lord Nityānanda is exactly like that. The śāstra says He is adoṣa-darśī; He doesn't find any fault. Sometimes we're the worst fault-finders of ourselves because, although we're trying to make advancement on the path of devotional service, we may compare ourselves to others and imagine that everyone else is doing okay except for me—and then we may discourage ourselves from advancing in devotional service. We definitely need Lord Nityānanda's help. The Personified Vedas say in their prayers to the Lord that this is your greatest pastime, the way you extend yourself to the living beings in this world. And so the attitude and the order. If we pick up an order from the Lord and take it seriously and apply it, especially the order of how to assist him in saving conditioned souls, then Haridas Thakur said, we just want to alleviate your anxiety. And Prabhupada comments there that this is the best kind of service, is to alleviate the anxiety of the Lord. Some souls are lost here in the material energy, and we give them an opportunity to come out. And when we apply these two things, attitude, what's the first thing? Yeah, do anybody here have an attitude. Say, Yes, do your senses have an attitude? Mine do. I describe it as entitlement.I feel entitled to that. It's like no. I really think I should have that. And like no, we can't have it now, or ever. The second is order. If you just take these two principles, two ingredients, and you put them together, then you have a perfect life following the footsteps of Lord Nityananda. And magic happens wherever you go. You turn a boring drudgery of the material world into a festival wherever you go. And it's hilarious fun as Lord Nityananda, he's also funny, and his name Nityananda means he's always having fun. There's never a time when he doesn't have fun. And the only reason I don't have fun, at a certain point I get bored is because of two things, one is attitude and second one is order. And if I just come back to attitude and order, and I adjust them according to Lord Nityananda, then fun, fun, fun - Nitya, ananda! Nityananda is just fun from beginning to end. There's nothing to impede our fun. And the greatest fun of all is to go out as a representative, follow the order and in the attitude of Lord Nityananda, of bringing souls back to Krishna. And how much can you do that? Śamyāprāsa is smiling. How much can you do it Śamyāprāsa? Birds fly as high as they can in the sky. You can do it always. You can do it always and everywhere. That's why Lord Caitanya said 'yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘kṛṣṇa'-upadeśa, āmāra ājñāya guru hañā tāra' ei deśa' (CC Madhya 7.128). That means world's open for business if you have the right attitude and you have the order, and if you follow the order. Lord Nityananda Himself has opened a market-place of the Holy Name in Surabhi-Kunja. 2) The news of its great results is that He is selling the pure Holy Name in that market-place for the price of only one's faith. 3) Lord Nityananda, the proprietor of the market, seeing all the devotees become attracted, is selling them the Holy Name after bargaining with them. 4) O brother, if you want to buy the Holy Name, then go with me. We must go to the presence of that great soul, Nityananda. 5) You will buy the name of Krsna, I will take my commission and all of our desires will be fulfilled. 6) Lord Nityananda is greatly merciful. Taking only one's faith, He gives the highest ecstasy. 7) If Nitai sees only once tears in the eyes while chanting the name "Gaura", then He gives all resources to that person. 8) He gives the pure teachings of Krsna to everyone and does not care for one's birth, wealth, knowledge and strength. 9) Now, giving up the illusory snare of Maya, either remain in household life or in the forest as a sannyasi for no more troubles remain. 10) There is no more fear of the age of Kali. The merciful Nityananda gives the Holy Name to even the candalas. 11) Bhaktivinoda calls out "Except for the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda there is no other shelter!" You and the Father are one, that's what Jesus came to teach you. That Presence, that Hereness, that Nowness, that's hearing me-- It's Him. You're Him. Turn on the Light. I Love you, nik Support the show: ▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings "You cannot ask the darkness to leave. You must turn on the light." - S. Rinpoche "We are never without grace. We can never be abandoned, it is always there. God can never abandon living beings. From just one candle, you can light a million candles without putting strain on the first candle. From one awakened being, you can set light into a million souls, so powerful is the light. If you go into a room full of light, but outside is darkness, and you open the curtain, that darkness won't come in. But if you go into a room which is dark and you open up a little tiny bit of a curtain, it will fill the whole room with light. Such is the power of the light. We are this light and we must discover this..." - Mooji "Swami Muktananda, in his guru kripa sad-hana, used to meditate intensely on his guru, Nityananda. He would visualize bringing him into his own body until he himself became Nitvananda. So intoxicated did he become in his devotion to his guru that there were times when he didn't know if he was Muktananda or Nityananda. A sense of that feeling of devotion comes from the first-century Odes of Solomon: My heart was split, and a flower appeared; and grace sprang up; and it bore fruit for my God. You split me, tore my heart open, filled me with love. You poured your spirit into me; I knew you as I know myself. My eyes are radiant with your spirit; my nostrils fill with your fragrance. My ears delight in your music, and my face is covered with your dew. Blessed are the men and women who are planted on your earth, in your garden, who grow as your trees and flowers grow, who transform their darkness to light. Their roots plunge into darkness; their faces turn toward the light. There is infinite space in your garden; all men, all women are welcome here; all they need do is enter." - Polishing the Mirror, Ram Dass
Baba said, “The Guru should be one who has fully realized the mantra and can charge it with conscious force. He should be a master of Shaktipat, possessing great spiritual power.” While Baba was describing what he found in Nityananda, he himself also exemplified his own description. Well-known author and Sanskrit scholar Shri Nityananda Misra reviews the essay on Devdutt Pattanaik by Subhodeep Mukhopadhyay, author of 'Ten Heads of Ravana.' Subhodeep Mukhopadhyay shows in his excellent analysis of Pattanaik's work, the protagonist's major positions—from equating Hindutva to militant Brahmanism, reading bizarre meanings into texts such as Krsna apparently having accepted and endorsed infidelity, to praising the brilliance and simplicity of Aryan Invasion/ Migration Theories despite them being repeatedly discredited with evidence—which, far from being rooted in tradition, are riddled with willful misinterpretations, distortions and divisive narratives. Mukhopadhyay builds a compelling picture of why Pattanaik, far from being considered an authority on Dharma related matters and texts, should be replaced by returning to the numerous accurate commentaries and interpretations from within the tradition which are grounded in pramana sastra.
