What happens when you travel — not for sightseeing, but for the soul? In this heartfelt episode of Big Blend Radio's "Soul Diving Sunday" Show, Live & Die Happy Coach Shelley Whizin shares her extraordinary pilgrimage to South Africa, where she spent time on the sacred land of the White Lion Global Protection Trust alongside lionhearted leadership author Linda Tucker and spiritual activist Andrew Harvey. Shelley traveled in real physical pain — dealing with a bulging disc and sciatica — yet refused to stay home. What unfolded was a profound journey of healing, stillness, grief, and transformation. From a shattering 40-minute ceremony invoking Mother Earth and the white lions, to sitting in silence with wild lions on the African savanna, to confronting the brutal reality of canned hunting farms, this conversation goes deep into what it means to truly be present. Big Blend Radio host Lisa Smith — who has lived in both South Africa and Kenya — joins Shelley for a richly layered conversation about the cycle of life, the web of nature, trophy hunting, and the healing power of stepping outside your comfort zone. In a radically fresh reading of Mary Magdalene's story, a renowned scholar of mystical traditions sheds new light on the Divine Feminine as a force for change and healing. For more than 20 years, Andrew Harvey has trained his fine scholar's eye on sacred texts and mystical truths to illuminate the message of inspired activism that they hold. Today, we need this message more urgently than ever. In this new book, Andrew takes a fresh, impassioned look at the story of Mary Magdalene and Jesus to distill its meaning for our world and show us how to embody this truth in our own lives. The Magdalene Revolution will:Examine how Mary Magdalene is presented in the New Testament—sometimes splendidly, but also absurdly and even dangerouslyExplore the truths revealed about her in texts such as the Gospel of Mary and other Gnostic gospelsPropose a radical reclamation of the divine feminine by recognizing Mary Magdalene as the Bride to Jesus's Bridegroom—a female and co-equal Christ in her own rightIlluminate a new paradigm of fully embodied divine and human love that each of us can live out in our daily lives“We are in the time of the Second Coming,” Andrew writes. “The old story is dying, and a new story with Mary Magdalene's and Jesus's love at the center is being born, because it completes and activates the full range of Christ consciousness.” In Mary Magdalene's great spirit of healing and transfiguration, this book offers us this new human story—and a path to transform not only ourselves, but our world.Andrew Harvey is a world-renowned spiritual teacher, evolutionary mystic, and sacred activist. His work is sourced from all the major mystical systems and is celebrated for its marriage of scholarly and personal fearless visionary witness. “Life and love are inseparable from each other,” said Meher Baba. Love, humanity, nature, and consciousness have co-evolved together. Long ago, humanity was one with love, one with all of creation, then we separated, and ever since, we have been trying to merge with the Beloved. We developed rituals and ceremonies that brought us back into wholeness, but when these magical ceremonies decreased in power, we developed stories to foster our connection. The era of great myths began in goddess cultures, where the Divine feminine Face of God was most prominent. The Great Goddess was comfortable in all the realms: in the heavens, on Earth, and in the dark mysteries of the underworld. But with the rise of gods and heroes around the middle of the Bronze age, the masculine principle became elevated, and the feminine became suppressed and marginalized. While this has resulted in some important scientific innovation, it has also caused imbalances both to our world soul (Anima Mundi) and to the individual psyches of humanity. “What we are experiencing is tantamount to a shamanic dismemberment. We need to dismember in order to remember; we need to put ourselves back together again in ways that are healthy and whole. We are compelled to reconstruct the whole out of what has been torn apart; we are being called to dig deeper into our psyche. When we go deep, we find Indigenous and feminine wisdom—and original love— buried in the depths of our unconscious.” Today, we will freely discuss how we can recover and redeem the perennial wisdom of Original love, as well the wisdom of Indigenous peoples and the Divine feminine. We will also welcome whatever else wants to come forward into this sacred dialogue with our esteemed guests Anne Baring and James O'Dea.Anne Baring, who I was first introduced to by some of my most treasured women friends, has for the past half century been doing her utmost to recover and redeem the Feminine Face of God, initially inspired by a powerful dream she had (which she can share if she wishes today). A Jungian analyst, Anne is the author or co-author of nine books, including The Myth of the Goddess (with Jules Cashford), The Birds Who Flew Beyond Time (with Andrew Harvey) , The Divine Feminine (with Seilla Elworhty, and more recently The Dream of The Cosmos: A Quest for the Soul, and Divine Wisdom and the Holy Spirit: The Forgotten Feminine Face of God. James O'Dea, who is the first person I gave my newly completed draft of a manuscript for Original Love to, is, similar to Anne, a long-term advocate for the awakening of soul, former president of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, the director of the Washington office of Amnesty International and the president of the Seva Foundation, and also the author of several important books, including Cultivating Peace, The Conscious Activist: Where Activism meets Mysticism, Soul Awakening Practice, and more recently some books with visionary artist Marika Popovits. Glenn Aparicio Parry's latest book Original Love was published on February 13, 2026 and is available wherever books or ebooks are sold.

A visionary, incendiary work of spiritual scholarship and lived revelation by author Andrew Harvey, The Magdalene Revolution: The Return of the Sacred Feminine and the Birth of Radical Equality reclaims one of Christianity's most misunderstood women—Mary Magdalene. Harvey delivers a clarion call for a radical rethinking of the story of Mary Magdalene, not as a marginal figure but as a co-equal spiritual authority and bearer of Christ consciousness whose long-suppressed wisdom may hold the key to humanity's next evolutionary leap.
How do we begin to understand the division and the chaos that surrounds us? Lisa continues the conversation today with the founder of the Institute for Sacred Activism Andrew Harvey. Andrew is a religious scholar, mystical teacher, and author of more than 40 books, and discusses how to birth the new in times of extreme turbulence. He explains how the response to chaos is to become more luminous yourself. Find deeper and deeper energy and compassion within yourself and respond from calm and spaciousness. A lighter perspective can deconstruct the narrative. You must change your consciousness. You can only do that when you recognize you are Divine. Your emotions are sacred. These are the gifts of the Sacred Feminine. This is the Law of the Universe. The feminine teaches us how to open to love, while the masculine helps us to structure that love. This gives us power. Andrew shares how he's been working on his book for several decades and intensely for the past several years. His research, which included very credible sources, helped him to open up connections. He shared a story of finally being able to write the Preface of the book and the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. After he wrote it, he went to breakfast. Upon his return, he found his condo engulfed in flames. He lost absolutely everything including his most beloved feline. It was the hardest suffering he had ever experienced. This was less than one year ago. It completely transformed his life. Andrew talks about how he felt like he had died but then was resurrected. He felt calm after this experience. It opened the door to new possibilities. We are currently living in a severe dark night, but this is what Andrew believes is part of what will give birth to a divine new humanity. We can all become warriors of the new. We now have the chance to change and transform, by working with our self first. This is pure alchemy. We can now recognize the truth and be a source of inspiration. This is Part 2 of the interview. Info: www.andrewharvey.net
Let's talk about one of the Virtual Alexandria's main saints. Andrew Harvey joins me to discuss The Magdalene Revolution: The Return of the Sacred Feminine and the Birth of Radical Equality. We'll explore the restoration of the Divine Feminine to the heart of the spiritual path, unveiling a visionary figure who stands as a co-equal teacher and female Christ. By reclaiming the “Sacred Marriage” of masculine and feminine, it challenges centuries of patriarchal distortion and reveals a hidden tradition of sexual holiness. This transformative journey invites seekers to participate in birthing a divinized humanity capable of healing a world currently enduring a global dark night. How do we navigate this period of oppression and division? How do we live in modern times with all the chaos that surrounds us? Religious scholar, mystical teacher, and author of more than 40 books, Andrew Harvery, joins us today to talk about how to birth the new in times of extreme turbulence. Andrew is also the founder of the Institute for Sacred Activism. We are all experiencing the destruction of the old firsthand, but where do we turn? Andrew offers wisdom by discussing his latest book, "The Magdalene Revolution: The Rise of the Sacred Feminine and the Birth of Radical Equality." Andrew shares a firsthand experience he had many decades ago involving a vision of Mary Magdalene at her cave in the south of France. He felt an enormous peace in this place, yet he was outraged at how the church had demonized her. Upon leaving her cave, he turned back and saw her in golden light. Andrew believes Mary Magdalene is an essential part of Jesus's story. He understands that she is the sacred partner of Jesus. She was the first to see Jesus after Resurrection yet the Bible, written by men, painted her as a lunatic. Andrew explains how the Sophianic Gospel shows that Mary Magdalene and Jesus recognized the divinity in one another. She helped him come deeper into his body so they could bring in a love force to birth a new humanity. Mary Magdalene's evolution was very complex. In the Gnostic Gospels, it is believed that she was the sacred partner to Jesus. She also had great skill in healing and liberating people. As they grew united in the mission, she became more empowered and more illumined. She taught the Feminine Mysteries to groups of women as she expanded. The Sophianic Gospel talks specifically about Mary Magdalene's sacred spirituality. Once you bring together the messages of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, you see a life force of love is being birthed. This represents enormous joy and power. It's a whole new level of radiant empowerment. Andrew believes that Jesus, Mother Mary, and Mary Magdalene are all incarnations of the Divine, fully empowered and sacred. Andrew has done extensive research, and he shows how there are fragments in the Bible that tell the story. He presents a grounded version of how they actually lived. This story is a completion and a missing piece. It is ripe for this time as a vast hunger is rising in humanity. This is an expression of love and connection of all of creation. This is the gift of the Divine Feminine. Spirit and Matter are being healed through this resurgence. This is Part 1 of the interview. Info: www.andrewharvey.net

Send us a textI am honoured and excited to share my chat with Andrew Harvey, an internationally renowned religious scholar, writer, teacher, author and the founder of the Institute for Sacred Activism! Andrew leads us into an exploration of the revelatory union between Jesus and Mary Magdalene as co-equal partners in a mission toward wholeness that unifies masculine and feminine, transcendence and embodiment, and heaven and earth. Here, Mary is recognised as a fully empowered feminine Christ who, in embodying her own sacred authority and destiny, enabled not only Jesus' mission, but in co-creation with him, birthed a living map for a new earth founded on love, courage, and kindness for all of us.Andrew's latest book, The Magdalene Revolution, is a beautifully written, evocative masterpiece, which - in its combination of scholarly research, divine transmissions and Andrew's own mystical experiences - had me in tears of recognition, joy, and alignment many, many times. The book brings to light revolutionary aspects of Jesus' and Mary Magdalene's sacred union, and reminds us of their extraordinary lives as courageous, divinely inspired individuals who, in their devotion to the Mother and the path of love, were ready to risk it all. I'm your host, Kate Shaw. This week we have a big fish episode! I mean, it's a big episode about a lot of different fish, not necessarily fish that are big—although some of them sure are! Thanks to Arthur, Yuzu, Jayson, Kabir, Nora, Siya, Joel, Elizabeth, Mac, Ryder, Alyx, Dean, and Riley. I told you this is a big fish episode. Let's jump right in with a fish suggested by Jayson, the sawfish. There are five species of sawfish alive today. The smallest can still grow over 10 feet long, or 3 meters, while the biggest species can grow over 20 feet long, or 6 meters. The largest sawfish ever reliably measured was 24 feet long, or 7.3 meters. The sawfish lives mostly in warm, shallow ocean waters, usually where the bottom is muddy or sandy. It can also tolerate brackish and even freshwater, and will sometimes swim into rivers and live there just fine. The sawfish is a type of ray, and rays are most closely related to sharks. Like sharks, rays have an internal skeleton made of cartilage instead of bone, but they also have bony teeth. You can definitely see the similarity between sharks and sawfish in the body shape, although the sawfish is flattened underneath, which allows it to lie on the ocean floor. There's also another detail that helps you tell a sawfish from most sharks: the rostrum, or snout. It's surprisingly long and studded with teeth on both sides, which makes it look like a saw. The teeth on the sawfish's saw are actual teeth. They're called rostral teeth and the rostrum itself is part of the skull, not a beak or a mouth. It's covered in skin just like the rest of the body. The sawfish's mouth is located underneath the body quite a bit back from the rostrum's base, and the mouth contains a lot of ordinary teeth that aren't very sharp. Since the sawfish has plenty of teeth in its mouth, you may be wondering how and why it also has extra teeth on both sides of its saw. It's because the rostral teeth evolved from dermal denticles. Dermal denticles look like scales but they're literally teeth, they're just not used for eating. Sharks have them too, along with some other fish. In the case of the sawfish, the rostral teeth grow much larger than an ordinary dermal denticle, and stick out sideways. Both the rostrum and the head are packed with electroreceptors that allow the sawfish to sense tiny electrical charges that animals emit as they move. This might mean a school of fish swimming through muddy water, or it might mean a crustacean hiding in the sand. The sawfish sometimes uses its rostrum to dig prey out of the sand, but it also uses it to slash at fish or other animals.

Light, truth, and direct experience. Today we will talk about angel healing with local poet, author, and mystic Jenny D’Angelo. Amidst a shower of poetry, Jenny shares about her history with Dorrie D’Angelo, the Angel Lady of Carmel and about how she hopes to model vibrant elderhood for those around her. She talks about how to tune into the angels around each of us which she describes as our teams of unseen helpers. After the break, we take a call from Ray of Santa Cruz who describes his mom’s experience seeing angels. We end by talking about little yeses and big yeses where a big yes to one thing can look like a no to something else. BIO: Jenny D'Angelo, healer, poet, Angel scribe. She was adopted by Dorie D'Angelo, the Angel Lady of Carmel, in 1983. Jenny is a published poet and international speaker. She receives the words from the Angels in humility, knowing them as blessings to be shared. Jenny lives on the California central coast. Her video interview with Andrew Harvey can be found here. When the world gets chaotic and uncertain, we need spiritual practice more than ever—not just to sustain our souls and restore our inner peace, but to recharge and prepare ourselves to take on challenges with effective action. A few years ago, Philip Goldberg, the author of “Spiritual Practice in Crazy Times” and host of the Spirit Matters podcast. interviewed twelve spiritual leaders to help us get through the pandemic. We're now re-releasing the interviews as an encore series, because the messages are as relevant today as when they first aired. Together, Ali and Philip explore countercultural aspects of embodiment, the importance of challenging societal norms, and the need to advocate for a shift towards present-centered awareness.Central to the conversation is the profound impact of the pelvic bowl, a core element of Philip's teachings. Drawing inspiration from cultures that value the body differently, Philip highlights the concept of Hara in Japanese Noh theater. He traces the historical shift in Western culture from the belly as the thinking center to the current emphasis on the head, revealing a narrative of mistrust in the body.Sensitivity emerges as a core theme of the conversation, which Philip positions as the foundation of intelligence. Ali and Philip delve into the subtleties of staying “dropped in” to the pelvic floor, stressing the gentle and patient approach required for restoring sensitivity, especially in individuals who have experienced trauma. Throughout the episode, the exploration of embodiment, cultural shifts, and the profound connection between the body and the world converges into a call to action. The duo inspires listeners to nurture sensitivity, embrace radical wholeness, and reclaim their true intelligence, fostering the evolution of both individual and collective consciousness.EXPLORATION POINTS:Ali and Philip discuss the geography of intelligence and the significance of the pelvic bowl as the base of experiencing our wholeness.Philip traces the d/evolution of Western culture from valuing the belly as the center to the current emphasis on the head and mistrust of the body. They discuss sensitivity as the foundation of intelligence and explore the nuances of restoring sensitivity, particularly in trauma survivors.Philip unpacks the fallacy of independence, and vividly describes the self as being in constant felt-relationship with the world. The conversation ultimately advocates that we recognize and learn to live from our full intelligence as a key to cultural evolution. FOR MORE PHILIP SHEPHERD:BIO: Philip Shepherd is recognized as a leader in the global embodiment movement. He is the creator of The Embodied Present Process™ (TEPP), which provides both potent insights into how our culture desensitizes the body, and a series of over 150 practices to help people renew their sensitivity to the world and reclaim their calm, centred presence in it. He shares TEPP worldwide through in-person workshops and Facilitators Trainings, and has articulated the need for a new, more embodied way of being in two books: Radical Wholeness and New Self, New World. Both books identify the causes, perils and challenges of our culture's disembodiment. Philip's personal path to embodiment includes a two-year journey as a teenager, during which he traveled alone by bicycle through Europe, the Middle East, Iran, India and Japan. He has also studied classical Japanese Noh Theater; co-founded an interdisciplinary theatre company; written two internationally produced plays and a television documentary; designed and built several houses; co-founded an arts magazine called Onion; played lead roles on stages in London, New York, Chicago and Toronto; and earned a reputation as a coach, both with individual clients seeking a deeper experience of embodiment, and for corporate clients seeking to improve their presentation skills. He developed TEPP with his co-director and wife Allyson Woodrooffe, who also shares the practices in person. His website and online courses are found at EmbodiedPresent.com. An inspiring manual for navigating humanity's collective dark night and enacting personal and planetary transformation• Explores how Sacred Activism--specifically, creative, wise, sacredly inspired action--offers an antidote to the crises facing our world• Reveals how to uncover and sustain joy and how to use it as fuel for continuing Sacred Activism in dangerous times• Includes practical maps of the dark night process and of the four-part path to transfiguration drawn from the secret depths of the mystical traditionsPresenting a manual for navigating humanity's collective dark night, Andrew Harvey and Carolyn Baker explore potential antidotes, drawn from mystical traditions and Sacred Activism, to help us find inspiration and take action in the face of the daunting challenges to our world.Offering a deep discussion of our global dark night in terms of the Kali Yuga, the authors examine the dangers of a growing constellation of intractable crises--authoritarianism both in America and abroad, climate change, economic inequality, social upheaval, and spiritual malaise. They then explore the antidotes to these crises: Sacred Activism--specifically, creative, wise, sacredly inspired action--and a profound understanding of our evolutionary ordeal and its potentialities. Examining the power of joy to help enact personal and planetary transformation, they explain how joy, or ananda, is a force all mystical traditions recognize as the essence of the Divine. They reveal how to uncover and sustain joy in ourselves and how to use joy as fuel for continuing Sacred Activism in dangerous times.Drawing on the visionary teachings of mystics such as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and Sri Aurobindo, the authors show how the global dark night is part of an evolutionary mutation process and how its very intensity makes it the potential seedbed of a new embodied, divine humanity. They offer practical maps of the crises, of the shadows that this global dark night is casting, and of the four-part path to transfiguration drawn from mystical traditions. Sharing a vision of a new and focused global moment of love in action, the authors reveal that apocalypse is not inevitable--if enough people awaken to the extraordinary possibilities of Sacred Activism.Andrew Harvey is an internationally renowned religious scholar, writer, spiritual teacher, and the author of more than 30 books.
