People try to rectify one mistake by making another mistake. This is the way of the struggle for existence in the material world. When you put the sugar cane through the grinder—not once, not twice, thrice, and maybe, if you're really cheap, you put it through again—that's tuccha. Even the cows come over and smell and go that's nothing left. That's tucchavat. Tucchavat means then you see these accumulations of material desires as being insignificant. They don't mean anything to you anymore because you have this: ar kabe nitāi-cānder. By the mercy of Nityānanda Prabhu, karuṇā hoibe—by His mercy, saṁsāra-vāsanā, these stored desires, layer upon layer, storage rooms full of all these desires, the vāsanās. Karma really means that we're forced to act now because of what we did before. In our mind, we're pushed to go in a certain direction because we've accumulated this karma, and we may think, "When's it going to hit me?" It's driving you right now. prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ ahaṅkāra-vimūḍhātmā kartāham iti manyate And everyone thinks, "No, no, I meant to do that."If you've ever seen anybody mess up, and they go, "Yeah, I'm meant to do that"—every soul is messing up in the material world and is like, "We meant to do that.": And so they're forced into this because of saṁsāra-vāsanā, carried from one situation to the next to the next to the next because of vāsanā. So he says, 'kabe tuccha ha'be'—when will that time come? When, by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda, will I no longer be forced by material nature to move in a certain direction. When will Nitāi bestow His causeless mercy upon me, so that my desire for material enjoyment will become very insignificant? When, by His mercy will the desire for material enjoyment become very insignificant? 3) When the mind is completely purified, being freed from material anxieties and desires, then I shall be able to understand Vrndavana and the conjugal love of Radha and Krsna, and then my spiritual life will be successful. 4) When shall I be very much eager to study the books left by the Six Gosvami's, headed by Srila Rupa Gosvami and Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami? By their instruction I shall be able to properly understand the loving affairs of Radha and Krsna. 5) My only aspiration is to attain the lotus feet of the Six Gosvamis headed by Srila Rupa Gosvami and Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami. (1) udilo aruṇa pūraba-bhāge, dwija-maṇi gorā amani jāge, bhakata-samūha loiyā sāthe, gelā nagara-brāje (2) 'tāthaī tāthaī bājalo khol, ghana ghana tāhe jhājera rol, preme ḍhala ḍhala soṇāra ańga, caraṇe nūpura bāje (3) mukunda mādhava yādava hari, bolena bolo re vadana bhori', miche nida-baśe gelo re rāti, divasa śarīra-sāje (4) emana durlabha mānava-deho, pāiyā ki koro bhāva nā keho, ebe nā bhajile yaśodā-suta, carame poribe lāje (5) udita tapana hoile asta, dina gelo boli' hoibe byasta, tabe keno ebe alasa hoy, nā bhaja hṛdoya-rāje (6) jīvana anitya jānaha sār, tāhe nānā-vidha vipada-bhār, nāmāśraya kori' jatane tumi, thākaha āpana kāje (7) jīvera kalyāna-sādhana-kām, jagate āsi' e madhura nām, avidyā-timira-tapana-rūpe, hṛd-gagane birāje (8) kṛṣṇa-nāma-sudhā koriyā pān, jurāo bhakativinoda-prāṇ, nāma binā kichu nāhiko āro, caudda-bhuvana-mājhe TRANSLATION 1) When the rising sun appeared in the East, the jewel of the twice-born, Lord Gaurasundara, awakened, and, taking His devotees with Him, He went all over the countryside towns and villages 2) The mrdangas (khol) resounded "tathai, tathai," and the jhanjha [large metal karatalas that look like small cymbals] in that kirtana played in time. Lord Gauranga's golden form slightly trembled in ecstatic love of Godhead, and His footbells jingled. 3) All the devotees chanted the names Mukunda, Madhava, Yadava and Hari, their mouths being filled with the vibrations. They would announce to the still sleeping people, "You spend your nights uselessly sleeping and your days decorating your bodies! 4) You have achieved such a rare human body, but you do not care for this gift. You remain not serving the darling of Yasoda and slowly fall through your last moments to death. 5) With every rising and setting of the sun, a day passes and is lost. Then, why do you remain idle and not serve the Lord of the heart? 6) This temporary life is full of various miseries. Take shelter of the holy name as your only business. 7) To penetrate the darkness of ignorance and bless everyone's heart, the holy name has risen like the shining sun. 8) Drink the pure nectar of the holy name of Krsna. There is nothing but the name to be had in the fourteen worlds. Just as a cloud pours water on a forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master delivers the materially afflicted world by extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities. 2) Chanting the holy name, dancing in ecstasy, singing, and playing musical instruments, the spiritual master is always gladdened by the sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Because he is relishing the mellows of pure devotion within his mind, sometimes his hair stands on end, he feels quivering in his body, and tears flow from his eyes like waves. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 3) The spiritual master is always engaged in the temple worship of Sri Sri Radha and Krsna. He also engages his disciples in such worship. They dress the Deities in beautiful clothes and ornaments, clean Their temple, and perform other similar worship of the Lord. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 4) The spiritual master is always offering Krsna four kinds of delicious food [analyzed as that which is licked, chewed, drunk, and sucked]. When the spiritual master sees that the devotees are satisfied by eating bhagavat-prasada, he is satisfied. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 5) The spiritual master is always eager to hear and chant about the unlimited conjugal pastimes of Radhika and Madhava, and Their qualities, names, and forms. The spiritual master aspires to relish these at every moment. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 6) The spiritual master is very dear, because he is expert in assisting the gopis, who at different times make different tasteful arrangements for the perfection of Radha and Krsna's conjugal loving affairs within the groves of Vrndavana. I offer my most humble obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master. 7) The spiritual master is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord, because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord. This is acknowledged in all revealed scriptures and followed by all authorities. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is a bona fide representative of Sri Hari [Krsna]. 8) By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krsna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master.

They are the essence of all incarnations. The specific significance of these incarnations is that They introduced a process of chanting and dancing that is simply joyful. 2) My dear brother, I request that you just worship Lord Caitanya and Nityananda with firm conviction and faith. If one wants to be Krsna conscious by this process, one has to give up his engagement in sense gratification. One simply has to chant, "Hare Krsna! Hari Hari!" without any motive. 3) My dear brother, just try and examine this. Within the three worlds there is no one like Lord Caitanya or Lord Nityananda. Their merciful qualities are so great that upon hearing Them even birds and beasts cry and stones melt. 4) But Locana dasa regrets that I am entrapped by sense gratification. The nectar of life is concentration on Kṛṣṇa, and Kṛṣṇa is present in His name. So you can trust the process: if you give yourself to full focus on the name, then you'll become absorbed and attracted. And it's not difficult. In rajas, the mind says, "I want to go somewhere else. I want to go somewhere else. I want to go somewhere else." And the mind flees to try to find some variety in the material nature. But all varieties come from Kṛṣṇa. Everything is complete in Kṛṣṇa, and if we surrender to that moment in which we just give our mind completely to Kṛṣṇa, then we can be in absorption. We won't even know what time it is or how long we've been chanting. We'll just be aware of one thing, and that is Kṛṣṇa's name in the Mahāmantra. So Kṛṣṇa has kindly appeared to us in this form of the Mahāmantra, and He's given us direct access to Him through this. So, we are reverent and we do the practice—not just chant and think of something else, but chant and only think of the name—and keep bringing our minds back to the name because it will go away. You have to be vigilant to come back to the name and be meditative on the holy name. They are the essence of all incarnations. The specific significance of these incarnations is that They introduced a process of chanting and dancing that is simply joyful. 2) My dear brother, I request that you just worship Lord Caitanya and Nityananda with firm conviction and faith. If one wants to be Krsna conscious by this process, one has to give up his engagement in sense gratification. One simply has to chant, "Hare Krsna! Hari Hari!" without any motive. 3) My dear brother, just try and examine this. Within the three worlds there is no one like Lord Caitanya or Lord Nityananda. Their merciful qualities are so great that upon hearing Them even birds and beasts cry and stones melt. 4) But Locana dasa regrets that I am entrapped by sense gratification. Since I have no attraction for the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda, then Yamaraja, the superintendent of death, is punishing me by not allowing me to be attracted by this movement.
