In this talk, Banshō weaves together spiritual poems from across traditions—Christian, Sufi, Taoist, and Zen—to show how poetry can be a living expression of dharma. Beginning with reflections on the rarity of “radical presence,” he invites us to experience poetry as more than words: as truth, practice, heart, and shared human experience. Through poems like Joyce Rupp's The Perfect Cup, David Whyte's Everything is Waiting for You, Rumi's The Guest House, and Dōgen's timeless verses, he illustrates how beauty, impermanence, and the fullness of human emotions all belong to practice. The talk closes with selections from the Tao Te Ching, pointing to the great mystery—emptiness, interconnection, and the way of reality—revealed in the ordinary and the fleeting. This talk was given on September 21st 2025 during the GVZM Sunday Program. ★ Support this podcast ★

In this Tao Dialogues episode, David explores how you can drop the burden of proving, performing, and perfecting and know your true value.Have you ever believed that your worth must be earned, proven, or validated by others?  Do you often find yourself chasing approval, striving to be “good enough,” only to end up exhausted and unfulfilled? Do you sometimes hear the voice of your Inner Child whispering, “Will I ever be enough just as I am?”David unpacks these questions and offers a gentle path back to the truth of who you already are. The Tao teaches that just as rivers flow and mountains stand tall without needing permission or applause, we too are worthy by our existence. There is nothing we must do to earn this worth. No approval we must gain. No role we must play...     Read the blog post that inspired this episode: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/p/inherent-worthOur Tao Dialogues are powerful yet gentle teachings about authenticity, spirituality and finding emotional balance and flow in everyday life. Get my free guided practice here: https://learn.taylorjohnson.life/embodiment - and know this: Most men trying to improve their sex lives are missing one crucial ingredient: embodiment. And this is one of the main reasons why so many men have "tried all the techniques" but still struggle with premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction and sexual performance anxiety...To overcome these challenges, you HAVE TO do some kind of embodiment practice - in addition to learning the direct sexual techniques that address the sexual "dysfunctions." The techniques alone won't cut it...*NOTE: This episode was originally filmed for Youtube, but I decided to put it here as a podcast episode as an experiment.  For most spiritual schools are important to grow your spirituality, be it the Kundalini or that you open your heart, third eye, and crone chakra…And for that we need energy! Our whole body needs his energy to stay healthy and for sexuality…. If we use our sexual energy for our spirituality then everything would be easy. Because our body uses 1/3 of his energy just only for sex…We can even use our sexual energy to heal our spine or growing our brain… We hear from our spiritual gurus that sex is bad…And I absolutely agree to a certain level, so it would be much better if the guru's parents had avoided making sex to create such a creature (Guru) that is denying sex!!! If you deny, abuse, or think negatively about sex or afraid of sex, then your first chakra or the chakra that is responsible for the sex is blocked… So that you can't use your sexual energy for your spirituality or even worse you will attract diseases that are related to sex. Monks and Nuns have 2 times more prostate cancer or breast cancer than normal beings!!!!!!Let look at how sex energy is causing a Samadhi! When a baby sucks the mother milk, it goes in a Samadhi when the mother is loving and gives the baby the time that it needs to suck the milk in a calm way… How does the baby make that? The Taoist found out:  When the baby sucks the milk, it squeezes the vagina muscles or it pulls up the testicles without squeezing the anus… At the same time, it pulls up the energy from the lowest chakra to the crone chakra. And then it needs to breathe out and breathe in and breath out… In this time it squeezes the tongue against the roof of the mouth and it relaxes the muscles of the vagina or testicles… Maybe, we have done it before… Today, the Taoists are doing the same thing … They just imagine to suck milk and when breathing in they contract these muscles and by breathing out they put the tongue against roof of the mouth and relax these muscles… After the Qigong and the Yoga system, we have a gate of death/hell, where the spirit/soul leaves our body when the body dies… And this gate of death is located at the lowest point of our body this means the vagina or the bone-cave between the testicles and the anus… And this Gate (related to the huh sound) has energetically a direct connection to the crone chakra… The next important Energy-point  (related to the Ohm sound) is at the end of the vagina (uterus mouth)… Both points are crucial for the Kundalini or for spiritual energy… If we do have an energy-block in this area, the energy can not be used for healing, spirituality and even will cause severe diseases… For the females is sex in any case good! Because a normal woman feels love when she has intercourse with her darling… this means she pulls up the energy from her lowest chakra to her heart chakra… And she gets the male energy for free! Even better if the clitoris is stimulated all of her organs will be energized … Never the less, the females lose all of their sexual energy, during their periods.    For the males is a certain amount of sex good. The males lose their energy when they ejaculate… And too many ejaculations leads to severe diseases (aids, immune weakness) and premature aging. Never the less the males can learn Tao-love or the sexual Tantra to even enjoy more the sex without too many ejaculations…If the males reduce the number of ejaculations to 50% everything will work out good. How we can get the energy upwards…1.) Make the Kundalini meditation from Osho15 minutes shake the body from the pelvic on… this means the pelvic should go forward and backward (similar to intercourse). 15 minutes dance in ecstasy.15 minutes sit relaxed with the spine straight without moving.15 minutes sit or lay down on the back without moving… With sounds  Huh, ohm, ha, iStart with the ‘Huh' sound (like school) (from the lowest point of the body) then the Ohm sound below the navel in the middle of the body (uterus mouth) then the ‘Ha' or ‘A' sound (like Allah) in your heart chakra and the I sound (like India) for the crone and third eye chakra… If you would sing gospels like the Africans you will gain the same… You sing always from the area of the vagina and if you long for God then your energy will raise from the lowest chakra to the crone chakra…  My Video: How can gurus be an obstacle? https://youtu.be/Pkn7hnVTAJoMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast1/how-can-gurus-be-an-obstacle.mp3

Send us a textDive deep into the forgotten connections between spiritual practices and herbal medicine with Dr. David Crowe, specialist in Chinese, Tibetan, and Ayurvedic traditions. This illuminating conversation reveals how ancient healing systems viewed chakras not as simplistic energy points, but as sophisticated transformational fields that convert physical essence into spiritual power. You can work with Dr. Crow in his consultation services here:https://www.crowconsultations.com/consultationYou can also learn from Dr. Crow in his courses:https://www.crowconsultations.com/coursesYou can also attend one of Dr. Crow's events here:https://www.crowconsultations.com/events-calendarDavid expertly untangles the confusion around chakras, explaining how Western interpretations have oversimplified complex energy systems. He compares the familiar seven-chakra model with Taoist medicine's three energy fields (dantian), showing how both traditions aim to transform lower energies into higher spiritual states. Through this comparative lens, listeners gain a richer understanding of how diverse healing traditions share fundamental principles while expressing them through different cultural frameworks.Perhaps most valuable for everyday wellness, David shares practical wisdom on integrating spiritual practices with herbal medicine. He explains how meditation, mantras, and mindful awareness can dramatically amplify the therapeutic effects of herbs—a connection that was inseparable in traditional healing but has been lost in modern approaches. "Simply paying attention to the body sensations produced by herbs potentizes their effects," he notes, offering a simple technique anyone can use to enhance their natural healing practices. The conversation also addresses the limitations of what David calls "green allopathy"—using herbs like pharmaceutical drugs to target specific symptoms without addressing root causes. He provides eye-opening examples of how this approach often fails, such as when sleep herbs don't work because the person needs rejuvenation rather than relaxation.Whether you're interested in traditional medicine, spiritual practices, or simply seeking more effective approaches to health challenges, this episode offers profound insights that bridge ancient wisdom with modern needs. My search for the miraculous,Has led me here right now.To pierce the veil that separates worlds,And to teach each other how.☉Happy Solar Eclipse!  Yes, I know, those two words are often not put together.  Solar eclipses especially have an ingrained negative “aura” about them as the ancient peoples felt that a dragon (the Rahu/Ketu dragon of the Moon's nodes) swallowed up the Sun.  The Sun as the giver of life and powerful protector disappearing for a while was super scary (and still is)!  Add to that the unpredictable, weird energies (some say from deep space as the “auric shield” created by the Sun's rays is broken down) and events that historically happen and you have a recipe for fear.Whether these beliefs are true or not, this particular solar eclipse, located at the 29th critical degree of the Virgo, calls for vigilance, discrimination, focus, and clear intention.  As you'll hear in the Pele Report, the Sabian symbol reminds us of “The total concentration required for reaching any spiritual goal.”  That being said, the “kite pattern” formed (as you can see there is a kite pattern in the chart) with Saturn/Neptune opposite and Uranus/Pluto trine, tremendous positive, forward movement/evolution can happen during this time. It is, IMO, a portal opening with the possibility to view or even enter other dimensional realms.Even then, these other dimensional realms need to be entered cautiously as one can lose themselves, their balance, sanity, and direction, if not properly trained and prepared.  However, if one is prepared, experienced, and courageous, profound revelation, inspiration, vision, and understanding can result from tapping into and listening to the right channels.  It's similar to the radio in some ways, there are different stations of different frequencies and they transmit “better or worse” music depending on your taste/inclination!  Be sure to tune in to the right channel! As I'm more interested in soul evolution and personal development, I don't focus so much on the chaos and turmoil this eclipse season is REFLECTING (NOT CREATING) in the socio-political spheres.  I do feel it is definitely a time for the Taoist practices to help us transcend the polarizing forces battling each other more furiously as time goes on.  Rather than feed the monster with anger, judgements, and negative thinking, let's all devote even more of our time and energy toward solution-based thinking and the raising of consciousness, shall we?  I hope so and wish you the best meditations eva! This week's song is “One with Simplicity” by Aura Loom (not on Youtube, just Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/track/2guoaCAPZb6ixmHgupofMb?si=43e1a3b19cef40e5So Much Love,Kaypacha☉

Healing Beyond Diagnosis: Transforming Personality, Recovery, and Empowered Living with Greg Vorst & Michael Nolan

In this episode of Healthy Waves, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Greg Vorst and Michael Nolan, co-founders of Embodied Recovery, to explore the deeper roots of addiction and mental health struggles. Together, they unpack the powerful idea that “the illness is often in the personality,” and how true recovery requires more than abstinence—it demands transformation of how we live, breathe, and relate to ourselves and others. The conversation covers the role of learned helplessness, how body-based practices like Sundo breathing can loosen ingrained patterns, and why recovery is not just coping but awakening into aliveness, peace, and purpose. This dialogue is direct, thought-provoking, and filled with practical insights for anyone navigating healing, trauma, or transformation. About the Guests   Greg Vorst is a licensed therapist, recovery mentor, and practitioner of Sundo—an ancient Taoist breathing and meditation practice. With decades of experience, he bridges psychology, spiritual wisdom, and embodiment work to create practical tools for everyday healing. Michael Nolan is a recovery leader and transformational teacher whose lived experience fuels his work. He helps people move beyond abstinence into awakening—shifting from helplessness to empowerment, and from survival to authentic living. Together, they founded Embodied Recovery, a pioneering treatment center in Silicon Valley. Key Takeaways   Healing is not only about treating symptoms but reshaping personality patterns that keep us stuck. Learned helplessness can keep people trapped, but small nudges from community and structure restore agency. Abstinence is only the foundation—true recovery comes from transforming how we live and relate. The body holds psychological defenses; breathwork and embodiment practices can release stored tension and unlock healing. Protective personality traits (like armoring or judgment) may once have been survival mechanisms but can block intimacy and growth if left unchecked. Recovery is not just coping—it's awakening to aliveness, responsibility, spiritual connection, and empowered choice. A practical first step: share your struggle with a safe friend, guide, or community—truth-telling begins the healing journey.  Sound strategyWith the right sound, we can move our energy to the place we want.Even we don't have to express the sound loudly … The Sufis and the Taoists have developed great sound strategies to become blissful and to heal the body. For every organ exist a specific sound and for a different region of our body exist specific sounds. And we can move from one area to another area the energy with different sounds. For this, we use different sounds… For instance, the Sufis are using the Dikir “Huh” “Allah” .The “Huh”- the sound is pronounced like the vocal of the “Foot, look, school” and the “Allah” is pronounced like the vocal of “run, just”. With the “Huh” we activate the first chakra and with “Allah” the heart chakra and so the energy rises from the first chakra to the heart chakra. And we can combine the sound strategies with body movements like the methods of Sufis (Sufi breathing, Dikir/Sikir), Osho techniques, or the Tao techniques)… And these are very powerful techniques to become blissful and relaxed. With the right rhythm, we can calm down our mind…Why? When we have been a fetus we were constantly hearing the beating of our mother's heart…When your mother had been agitated, her heartbeat increased, your mood became agitated too…And when your mother calmed down, her heartbeat calmed down and you calmed down too.So that we are hooked up with the rhythm of our heart…Again we can combine the rhythms strategy with sound strategy…If you take for different chakras a different sound and then you chant in the slow rhythms of your heart (60 - 80Beats) you will calm down and will drive your energy from the lowest chakra upward…For instance “ Hu Ohm Ka li” this will drive your energy from the first (Hu) chakra to the second (Ohm), forth (Ka) , and then finally to the sixth (Li) and seventh chakra (Li)…  Easy to do…My Video: How to start with meditation 3 https://youtu.be/dkqj0ByRcnoMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast1/How-to-start-with-meditation-3.mp3

In this Tao Dialogues episode, David explores the gentle, often misunderstood power of being humble.Have you ever thought that being humble makes you weak? Do you find yourself confused between setting healthy boundaries and being submissive? Or perhaps you wonder if humility and ambition can ever walk the same path? Humility is often mistaken for invisibility in a world that values noise, boldness and assertion. You'll learn how humility isn't about hiding but revealing our quiet strength. True humility in Taoism is not about shrinking ourselves or surrendering our values. It is about recognising our place in the vast rhythm of the Cosmos.        Read the blog post that inspired this episode:  https://davidjameslees.substack.com/p/the-softness-of-humility-a-path-toOur Tao Dialogues are powerful yet gentle teachings about authenticity, spirituality and finding emotional balance and flow in everyday life. Most people think of the I Ching as a fortune-telling book. In this episode, we explore the Taoist view that time itself is non-linear — past, present, and future already coexist. That perspective explains why divination is possible and why Shi (the Sage's alignment with time and place) matters.Taoist Master Mikel Steenrod and Morgan Boatman look at how coins, sticks, and bones act as tools to bypass bias, and how the I Ching historically guided generals, nobles, and spiritual adepts. Finally, we share a simple framework — Circumstance, Action, Outcome (CAO) — that makes the I Ching practical for modern decisions about health, love, and life direction. If you're curious about Taoism, divination, or the deeper meaning of “being in the right place at the right time,” this conversation offers both history and usable insight.

Gary King is a filmmaker who transitioned from a career in psychology and human resources to independent cinema, building a body of work that balances heart, hustle, and deeply human storytelling. In the spirit of Taoist unpredictability, Gary's story unfolds not as a straight line, but as a rich weave of intuition, risk, and creative alignment. He didn't attend film school—not out of rebellion, but because he didn't know it existed as a real path. Yet, what he lacked in formal education, he made up for in lived experience, teaching himself the craft by actually making films. From his first feature "New York Lately" to a haunting indie gem titled "Among Us," his journey is a testament to following that subtle inner pull, even when it defies logic or convention. What stood out most was Gary's devotion to character. He didn't chase Hollywood formulas or pre-packaged three-act structures. Instead, he sculpted stories that breathe. Stories that fail and rise again. He spoke of actors, not as tools to carry his vision, but as living beings whose rhythms dictate the energy of a scene. “The first take might be gold for one actor, but the sixth take is where another actor finds their truth,” he said. That kind of awareness doesn't come from reading screenwriting manuals. It comes from presence. It's no surprise that Gary gravitated toward stories with strong female leads. His commitment to representation isn't a gimmick—it's a reflection of his own lived dynamics. He and his wife uprooted their lives together, and it was her faith in him that seeded the beginning of his filmmaking path. When he pitched the idea of becoming a director, her response wasn't fear—it was, “Okay, how do we make this happen?”Every film Gary makes becomes his personal film school. No gatekeeping. No pedigree. Just the camera, the actor, the breath of a moment, and the sacred chaos of the edit room. One of the most beautiful sentiments he shared was how universal pain is the bridge to empathy. “You can tell a story about a Broadway dancer who never makes it, and someone who's never danced a day in their life will see themselves in that struggle.”And while his films may not be backed by million-dollar budgets or high-concept gimmicks, they pulse with something far rarer: authenticity. A humility that says, “I'm still learning.” A clarity that says, “This is who I am.” And perhaps most importantly, a humor that says, “Yes, I returned a porno tape to Blockbuster by accident, and no, I don't regret it.”Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bulletproof-screenwriting-podcast--2881148/support.

Embark on an illuminating journey with Nicholas Giannasi in this episode, where Mason guides a profound and deeply insightful conversation that seamlessly weaves together ancient spiritual concepts with their tangible, practical applications in the fabric of everyday existence. This is not merely a surface-level discussion; it's an exploration that delves into the very heart of what it means to be human, to err, and to transcend.   From the nuanced and often misunderstood true meaning of forgiveness—revealed not as a mere act of absolution, but as a dynamic interplay of understanding and compassion—to the profound yet accessible importance of humility in an increasingly self-promotional world, Nicholas shares wisdom that resonates deeply. The conversation gracefully flows through the inevitability of change, emphasizing how embracing impermanence can liberate us from suffering and foster a deeper appreciation for the present moment. Mason and Nicholas collectively peel back the layers, revealing how ancient wisdom, distilled through centuries of profound contemplation and practice, offers an indispensable compass to navigate the intricate and often turbulent waters of the modern world. They invite listeners to discover how these timeless truths can not only illuminate our individual paths but also foster greater harmony and meaning in our lives, making the sacred visible in even the most mundane of activities. This episode promises to be a transformative listen, encouraging a shift in perspective that allows for greater peace, understanding, and authentic engagement with life's rich tapestry.   Episode Highlights: 00:01:34 - Forgiveness and Compassion: Nicholas emphasizes that true forgiveness comes from understanding another's suffering (compassion), which is love with understanding. He suggests stopping the effort to forgive and instead looking into the other person's suffering, creating space for understanding. 00:03:23 - The Importance of Space: Meditation and creating "space" are crucial for spiritual practice and achieving genuine understanding and forgiveness. 00:05:00 - Non-Clinging to "I, Me, Mine": Drawing from Buddhist teachings, Nicholas highlights that suffering arises from clinging to the illusion of a separate "I, me, or mine." True wholeness and appreciation of interconnectedness come from dropping this self-identity. 00:32:00 - The Mundane is Sacred: Both speakers agree that everyday life and seemingly mundane tasks (like "chop wood, carry water") are part of spiritual practice and that true spiritual growth doesn't necessarily mean escaping worldly obligations. 00:18:12 - Preparing for Death: The conversation touches on impermanence and preparing for death by living a grateful and aware life, free from fear and attachment. 00:13:51 - The Role of a Sense of Humor: A sense of humor is presented as an important aspect of the spiritual journey, helping to navigate suffering and the absurdities of life without becoming cynical. 00:44:10 - Jing, Qi, and Shen: The concept of Jing, Qi, and Shen is discussed, with Nicholas emphasizing that healing the soul (Shen) first allows the mind and body (Qi and Jing) to follow. Connecting with a "higher Jing" or the Dao through practice is key. 00:50:04 - Avoiding Over-Complication: Nicholas stresses keeping spiritual practices simple, as the Dao itself is "extremely simple." He notes that attachment to material possessions and the desire for wealth can lead to emptiness and unhappiness.   Resources Mentioned: Stephen Harrod Buhner's final book (an herbalist earth poet) The Psychology of Money (audiobook) Nickdanbeau Love  Email: nicholasgiannasi@gmail.com

Most people are running on a fraction of their true power because their energy is scattered and leaking away. The microcosmic orbit is an ancient Taoist practice that solves this — a simple, natural circuit in your body that stores, refines, and multiplies your life force. It's not some mystical trick reserved for monks. Once you understand how to tap into it, you can use it to charge your whole system, sharpen your mind, and unlock a new level of sexual vitality. In this video, I break down what the microcosmic orbit really is, why it's the missing link in most men's training, and how to start feeling it flow for yourself.Get my FREE Ebook - 3 Techniques for Legendary Ejaculation Control:

In this episode, I outline the joys of intentional ideation, i.e. intentionally setting aside quiet time to sit and just think. It's not rumination though. The goal is to intentionally set aisde quiet time so that you can think, your mind wander to tap the power of the subconscious. The pen makes all of the difference. This will allow you to capture those ideas as they pop up.That's what life is all about... making the abstract concrete, manifesting and bringing into form all of the powerful ideas resting within the subconscious. We all have these amazing ideas down there. The purpose of the intentional ideation is to make those ideas come to life. We'll also formally define ideation, the concept of an "idea", and how the Taoist philosophy book of wisdom, The I-Ching, describes the creative. This was a fun one to do.The audio quality on this episode kind of sucks, but I wanted to get this one out!!
