Your will is your ability to choose a direction and initiate action; to concentrate and focus your attention on your chosen aim. However, the biggest enemy to being decisive and choosing a direction, is indecision. And the biggest enemy to initiating action, is making excuses. And when you are spinning in indecision and keeping busy by making excuses you create a black hole that sucks up all your focus and attention. This is when you get to the end of a week and wonder where it went. You were ready to make this week count but somehow it slipped through your fingers. Our will is like a muscle and we must develop it. That means if you find yourself off course, the correct action is to course correct, NOT QUIT. Hey Everybody! Welcome to Episode #0035 "Stop Quitting" This podcast originated from an IG post that someone asked my "What made me post this?" Well, since you asked, I will be happy to tell you in a Rant that I didn't see coming lol. The point behind the post was the only things you should quit are being lazy, quit making excuses and quit waiting for the right time (which there is no such thing as the "right time" so cut it out!!) .. I proceeded to tell them that I never quit anything. Want to know exactly what I said, keep listening its all in there. I have so many people say, this didn't work or that didn't work, or their diet doesn' t work, or their workout's aren't working... you know why? because you Quit before you reach the end goal. You want everything instantly and I'm sorry my friends, but that is just now how life works. Want something to turn our great... Well then Stop Quitting before It Happens!!! We talk about money, investing, and I share a part of my story that you may not have heard yet about what I went through to become a personal trainer and how making the decision to Not Quit during that 2 years of hell changed my life forever!! I heard Jeff Haden get interviewed on the You Wanna Do What? podcast with Monica Rivera. Jeff is the author of the book The Motivation Myth: How High Achievers Really Set Themselves Up to Win which can get for free by going to www.logicalloss.com/audible if you decide to cancel your subscription you can keep the book (or any other book) for free. Motivation Does Not Come Before Action So many times we think we need the motivation to take action. Jeff points out that it is the other way around. When we take action, and we do the right things, and we see the results, THAT motivates us to keep Going. You Don't Need A Dump Truck Full of Motivation When you think, "I need enough motivation to loss 100 lbs." That is not true. The only motivation you need is enough motivation to make your next meal a healthy one. You need enough motivation to make the next day a day filled with good choices. When you TAKE THESE ACTIONS, the results is motivation. You feel like you accomplished something. People who achieve hard goals over a long period of time did not work on ONE goal, they worked on tiny little goals that upon completion motivated them to NOT QUIT.
