It can feel overwhelming, confusing, and even a little bit lonely at times. That's why I wanted to share this episode with you, the key pillars of EL inclusion. Whether you are an EL teacher looking to support your colleagues or a general educator who wants to do right by the multilingual learners in your room. Email marketing isn't dead - but it can often be done better. Today we're joined by Karly Craig, author of Email Is Not Dead and seasoned ecommerce operator, to talk about the email marketing strategies that actually drive revenue.Karly shares why most brands are underutilising flows, especially when it comes to welcome sequences and post-purchase emails, and how extending these can lead to significantly higher conversion rates and long-term revenue. She walks through what a 30-day+ welcome flow could look like, how to inject personality and pattern-breakers into emails, and why category-specific messaging can make a big impact, especially when you offer multiple product types. We also dig into smart retention plays beyond email, including how to think about product drops, building anticipation with your list, and creating “got it” moments post-purchase, as well as diving into reactivation timing, how brands can drive second purchases with value-first strategies not just aggressive discounting, and much more.If you have a question for the MOperators Hotline, click the link to be in with a chance of it being discussed on the show: https://forms.gle/1W7nKoNK5Zakm1Xv600:00 Introduction to Karly Craig and Her Journey02:41 The Evolution of Karly's Book: Email is Not Dead05:52 Key Pillars of Automated Flows in Marketing12:00 Building Effective Email Flows for E-commerce14:54 Post-Purchase Strategies and Customer Retention18:05 Reactivation Strategies and Long-term Customer Engagement20:54 Creating a Personalized Customer Experience24:08 Leveraging Customer Accounts for Increased LTV26:59 The Role of Discounts and Promotions in Retention29:52 Final Thoughts on E-commerce Marketing Strategies38:43 Building Customer Loyalty Through Engagement41:57 Innovative Attribution Models for Marketing45:07 Rethinking Loyalty Programs49:14 Enhancing Customer Experience with Technology52:54 Strategies for Successful Product Drops01:01:00 Leveraging Community for Brand Growth01:13:25 Investing in Personal Development Through CoachingOperators Exclusive Slack: https://join.slack.com/t/9operators/shared_invite/zt-2tdfu426r-TepSHJP~evAyDfR29U2qUwPowered by:Motion.https://motionapp.com/pricing?utm_source=marketing-operators-podcast&utm_medium=paidsponsor&utm_campaign=march-2024-ad-readshttps://motionapp.com/creative-trendsPrescient AI.https://www.prescientai.com/operatorsRichpanel.https://www.richpanel.com/?utm_source=MO&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=ytdescAftersell.https://www.aftersell.com/operatorsNorthbeam.https://www.northbeam.io/Episode 24 with Jared Brody: https://youtu.be/PHrYerwwtJYSubscribe to the 9 Operators Podcast here:https://www.youtube.com/@Operators9Sign up to the 9 Operators newsletter here: https://9operators.com/

We've had the concept of "thought leadership" beaten over our heads in the online space for the past year. But from what I've observed, most business owners are missing the point entirely. Thought leadership is not solely about sharing your hot takes. Thought leadership is not all about being "authentic" by embracing your inner hot mess. And it's definitely not about co-opting the term after you've received a few more likes on Threads than you originally expected. Being a true thought leader means embracing and embodying four distinct pillars: • Expertise (and why your unique process matters more than you think) • Innovation (beyond just adding your spin to someone else's framework) • Credibility (how to ensure your results actually tie back to YOU) • Influence (the missing piece that most "thought leaders" forget) This episode may be a bit confronting because I know, we all like to assume we're operating as thought leaders in our business. But we have to ask ourselves, are we relying on the simple fact that we have a podcast or we post aesthetic reels to establish ourselves as thought leaders? Or are we actually embodying that identity? Plus, I'm diving deep into the difference between thought leadership and personal branding, and why combining both is your ticket to becoming a mini-celebrity in your niche. Whether you're just starting to build your authority or you're ready to amplify your influence, this episode will help you create content that actually moves the needle. How can fashion take action right now for a net positive future? From climate and biodiversity to worker livelihoods and fair wages to overconsumption and textile waste, the gaps between where we need to be and where we are right now feel… vast. But in this episode, we're discussing ways that fashion act right now — like tomorrow — on 5 key pillars that encompass both people and planet. These are areas where the research, and tools are readily available, even for implementing at a large scale. Ahead you'll hear my conversation with Holly Syrett, the Impact Programmes and Sustainability Director at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), a nonprofit organization that accelerates measurable impact in the fashion industry.Perhaps what GFA is most known for is their Global Fashion Summits but they also drive impact through collaborative commitments, impact programs, thought leadership publications and by engaging with policy & advocacy.Their flagship report — which is freely accessible for all — is the Fashion CEO Agenda. And this year's edition, released at the Boston Fashion Summit, is offering more specific tangible action than ever. I kind of think of it as the no-excuses actionable sustainability playbook for fashion brands.I was excited to be able to have this conversation with Holly and be able to share it all with you for free because I know that there are so many of you that work in sustainable fashion or aspire to and want to dive deeper into these types of industry insights but they're not always accessible. So enjoy this conversation with Holly!***PRESENTED BY...The Conscious Fashion Collective MembershipIf you are a sustainable fashion professional or aspiring to transition into this industry, check out our sister platform Conscious Fashion Collective. Today we're going to be talking about some of the key pillars of weight management. These are exactly the sorts of medical and lifestyle factors you would expect to discuss if you worked with an obesity medicine physician. Obesity is a chronic medical condition, it is not a lifestyle choice. So we need to put our detective hats on and really dig deep into the different areas where we can find tools that can help us. While we do not have a cure, we do have a lot of treatments for it.In this episode, I'm going to be sharing aspects of the approach I usually take with my patients, including:The importance of assessing a patient's medical historyHow certain medications can affect weightWhy lab work is helpfulBody composition and its link to metabolic diseasesThe role of diet, exercise and stress managementHow sleep has a lot of intersections with weightRemember that every doctor will have a different philosophy when it comes to obesity. They will have different life experiences, different experiences with their patients, and different ideas of what they think works. I encourage you to find someone that's aligned with what you're looking for in the moment and be aware that this might change over time.Referenced: Rophen tape measure Audio Stamps00:21 - Dr.Rentea emphasizes the importance of finding a physician that's aligned with your values.01:52 - Dr.Rentea reveals why the intake process is so extensive for her patients.03:35 - We discover the significance of looking at medical history to decide the best approach.04:18 - We find out how certain medications can impact weight.06:52 - Dr.Rentea explains why it's helpful to go over lab work with your physician.08:38 - We learn why body composition should be considered and find out more about its link to metabolic diseases.10:50 - Dr.Rentea tells us what she looks for when analyzing a patient's diet and nutrition.12:12 - Dr.Rentea talks about the role of movement and exercise.14:09 - We hear why it's important to consider a patient's stress levels and mental and emotional health. 16:20 - We find out how sleep has a lot of intersections with weight.Quotes11:49 - “There's a lot more that goes into this than just the calorie number that you're eating.”13:46 - “A ton of exercise is really not the main way to lose weight.
