At age 7, she began barrel racing at local rodeos, making the rodeo arena her first stage. She started singing the National Anthem at her youth rodeos, eventually graduating to performances at PRCA rodeos across Missouri and Kansas, including the American Royal in Kansas City. These anthem performances led to the decision for Josey to hang up her spurs and follow her dreams of country music fame. After a main-stage performance at the 2010 Pedal Steel Convention in St. Louis, Josey followed the advice of her much older and wiser musical elders: Form a band and play everywhere you can. The Josey Milner Band became one of the most sought-after live acts in the Kansas City area. Performing an ever-evolving and versatile mix of new country, classic country, country rock, and a little bit of Rock & Roll, Josey led the band through raucous sets at Buffalo Bill Days, Slater Fall Festival, Holden Street Fair, Timbercreek, The Landing, and numerous others, performing for sold-out crowds and claiming the title of “Kansas City's Princess of Country Music.”More recently, Josey has also opened standing room only shows for American Idol, Scotty McCreery, Chris Cagle, and Jon Wolfe. She has performed at CMA Fest and the Hard Rock Café in Nashville, alongside stars like Georgette Jones, Buddy Jewell, Lulu Roman and Ashton Shepherd, The Teddy Bear Festival for children's charities, and the Nascar Kobalt 400 in Las Vegas, for Welcome Home Troops. In November 2013, she performed for the International Music and Entertainment Association Awards, for which she was nominated in three categories: Best Country Female, Best Country Single, and Country Entertainer of the Year. She was also nominated for Shooting Star at the Nashville Universe Awards and Best Female and Artist of the Year at the Midwest Music Awards. With international airplay, charting, live performances and awards, and even a Facebook game using her image (A Better World) and a celebrity endorsement with Piaseci MD skincare, Josey is poised for world-wide stardom. One thing is for certain, wherever her music may take her, she will always remain the small-town girl with the rodeo spurs still hanging on her wall.
Elena began playing piano at age five in her native St. Petersburg, Russia, and gave her first public performance at the age of six. She moved to the US with her family in 1974 and settled in New York City where she attended the renowned High School for the Performing Arts, where she graduated with the B'nai B'rith Award for Outstanding Performance in Music, was named “Promising Young Artist” by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts and was even chosen to play the piano for a cameo role in the MGM movie “Fame”. Elena continued her studies at The Juilliard School of Music, where she began at the Pre-College Division and subsequently earned her bachelor and master degrees and was the recipient of the prestigious Petschek Scholarship. Elena's performance credentials are impressive -- she made her first appearance at Lincoln Center in New York as a high school student with the National Music Week Orchestra and performed her recital debut in New York to a sold-out audience in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Elena made her professional orchestral Debut performing for fifteen thousand people on the same bill as Itzhak Perlman with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. Her solo recitals, orchestral appearances, and TV and radio performances have taken her across the world including her native Russia, where she performed with leading orchestras there including the Moscow State Symphony, the St. Petersburg Camerata and the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra. In fact, Elena was the first foreigner ever to open the annual "Moscow Stars" Festival in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Elena has played numerous concerts for various charities including Elizabeth Taylor's “Concert for AIDS” in Helsinki, violinist Isaac Stern's seventy-fifth birthday celebration for Ben Gurion University, and Moscow's first Russian Orthodox Sunday School for Children. Because of her diverse background and firm grounding in the cultures of her two home countries, Ms. Klionsky was invited to serve on the Board of Directors of the American-Russian Young Artists Orchestra. Elena Klionsky lives with her family in New York City.
