Evan and Tiki talk about Jaxson Dart's "regression" after his awful performance against the Vikings on Sunday. They then talk about the sports radio gold that would happen if the Giants had the number one pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Sandra and Greg Mundis are the resilient couple behind the inspirational real-life account, “Patient Number One: Embracing Hope in Times of Despair.” Greg, a global leader as Executive Director of Assemblies of God World Mission, and Sandra, a gifted storyteller and founder of Europe's Children ministry, have spent decades impacting lives across 195 countries. Their new book chronicles Greg's harrowing journey as the first COVID-19 intubation patient at his hospital—given little chance to live—and Sandra's fierce faith-fueled advocacy, demonstrating the miraculous power of hope, family, and community in the darkest times. In this episode of Marketer of the Day, Sandra and Greg join Robert Plank to share their journey from devastation to hope. They candidly detail Greg's critical illness, the emotional and physical ordeal of prolonged hospitalization and rehabilitation, Sandra's steadfast persistence, and the profound role faith and global prayer played in recovery. The conversation highlights themes of family unity, the psychological toll of crisis, finding purpose beyond suffering, and the decision to turn their collective trauma into a published story of inspiration. Listeners will learn about the importance of documenting miracles, building a support network, and how adversity can lead to deeper connection and renewed mission. Quotes: “If it wasn't for Jesus, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you.” “God's word was like my food... There's power in those words, and it truly brought me through.” “If I take him home, it's the best thing I can do for him... But if I leave him, I want to receive the glory.” Resources: Buy “Patient Number One” on Amazon. Matchday 17 was a weekend which started off with draws and then became a series of one-way results, some in emphatic fashion. Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román De Arquer (@Aeroslavee) review it all.We start with the on-paper partidazo between Villarreal and Barcelona, which was unfortunately conditioned by a first half red card. The visitors won comfortably in the end to become Christmas number one, keeping Real Madrid four points back. Los Blancos had their own 2-0 victory on Saturday night against Sevilla, but left more doubts once again. The only real bright sparks were the form of Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappé, who equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's club record for goals in a calendar year.Atleti won convincingly on the road to leave Girona in the danger zone, while Betis put four past Getafe to apply some pressure on Espanyol. In Part Two we discuss Elche returning to their best form and our concern for Rayo, who might be taking their eye off the ball domestically. The managerless sides played out a 1-1 draw, but Real Sociedad will really feel that it was two points dropped. Both clubs confirmed the appointments of their new coaches, so we evaluate their potential chances. Guillermo Almada has already begun life at Oviedo, but could not prevent the inevitable stalemate. We end by picking our moments of the year and wishing our listeners and subscribers at lllonline.substack.com a happy festive season. ¡¡Feliz Navidad!! Hosted on Acast. John Ross, during his schoolboy days in New Zealand, was interested in far-flung places such as South America, Papua New Guinea, Ancient Greece and Rome, as well as books on World War One and Two. He read a lot of youth fiction starting at 10 years old, but as a teenager, had a voracious appetite for nonfiction. In his 20s he discovered a few wonderful fiction writers, but has still kept mostly to nonfiction through the decades. His first books were Willard Price's Adventure series and Gerald Durrell books on real-life animal collecting. He also read detective and war stories (Biggles) and lots of travel accounts and travel guides.Robert Louis Stevenson was a favorite—Treasure Island, Kidnapped—and later discovered that Stevenson was a very good essayist too. John also enjoyed Rudyard Kipling's Kim.The ancient Greeks left a great impression on him: Herodotus (The Histories) and Thucydides (The Peloponnesian War)In his early 20s he started reading proper literature:Anna Karenina, Dr Zhivago, George Orwell, and Joseph Conrad. He loved Peter Hopkirk's The Great Game series featuring colorful adventurers and spies in exotic locations. In his early 30s he discovered Raymond Chandler and in his 40s H.P. Lovecraft. For books on Asia and East Asia, he started reading about Burma in the late 1980s, and early 1990s, and Mongolia in the mid-1990s, and increasingly China and Taiwan, and even some works on Japan. Some well known book titles that made an early impression were Lost Horizon by James Hilton, Burmese Days by George Orwell, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, and Jonathan Spence's China books. Also books on Asia by Maurice Collis.Amy's ReadingAs a child, Amy remembers reading Black Beauty (Anna Sewell, 1877), Walter Farley's series The Black Stallion (1941), and a book called Ponies Plot (Janet Hickman, 1971). She loved all the required reading for school (some books now banned): English literature such as Graham Greene's Brighton Rock, Shakespeare's plays, and lots of Roald Dahl, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach; and American authors John Steinbeck (1930s–1950s), J. D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye (1951), Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter (1850), Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh (1964) and A Separate Peace (1959) by John Knowles. She recalls that in first grade, her teacher read to the class Little Pear (1931), by Eleanor Francis Lattimore, about a Chinese boy. From her parents' book collection she read Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott (1868), and Wuthering Heights (1847) Emily Bronte as well as stories by Charlotte Bronte and other classics. In college she moved into more popular literature, again much of it required reading for her classes: works by Thomas Pynchon, Jerzy Kosiński, Blind Date (1977) and The Painted Bird (1965) the latter of which—notably—had a scene on bestiality and would probably be banned as college reading these days!.In high school, her father paid her to read books, and she vividly remembers excerpts from Henry Hazlitt's The Foundations of Morality (1964), which still influences her choices in life today. She credits her father's books for her interest in philosophy and a basic understanding of free-market economics.Once she knew she was headed to Japan, she read Edwin Reischauer's The Japanese Today (1988), and Japan as Number One, by Ezra Vogel (1979) which were her first books to read about Asia (other than Shogun). For most of her childhood she preferred non-fiction and didn't start reading fiction seriously till she arrived in Japan and read Haruki Murakami. Now she reads everything! At the end of the podcast Amy & John encourage listeners to write in to ask for suggestions on what books on Asia to give friends or family. They'll choose one to talk about at the end of each show with appropriate suggested reading. Welcome to our new season on the show! For my return listeners you might have noticed the break we took between our last season. I wanted to drop in with a solo episode and talk about why I took a short pause…which the title might say it all. So we are back at it, the show of course continues…we had a little pause in releasing episodes over the last months, as some really big things have been happening and well… I might as well come out and say it. I AM PREGNANT! It is such a blessing and I am overjoyed to share this news to you. Altho ugh this episode isn't just for that. I wanted this episode to be valuable and actually share how I got here. I mean some might think…well we know how you got here, but actually there is much more to it than that. So I'm going to get personal and share things that I feel can be helpful for anyone either on the journey of fertility and wanting to have a family or anyone that is struggling to conceive. First I must say, I have such compassion for those that have struggled, just through this process I have become utterly grateful and blessed for our journey and I'm aware for many it has been a struggle and emotional rollercoaster. So my hope is that by what I share today it can provide some hope, confidence and the knowledge of the steps you can take to possibly help your outcome. In this episode I discuss: Becoming pregnant and how I got here What I did to prepare my body The exact supplements I took The lifestyle changes I made Surrendering to God in this journey Timeline to prepare For full show notes and episode resources head to: https://ericalippy.com/im-pregnant-at-45/ Watch episode on YouTube Episode mentions: Download full 'Holistic guide to preparing for pregnancy' HERE Download 'My Intentional Year' HERE Erica Lippy | Website Follow me on Social Media: Listen on YouTube Your Host: @ericalippy Podcast: @passionlovepursuit PASSION LOVE PURSUIT PODCASTS: https://ericalippy.com/the-podcast/

Are you overlooking early symptoms of heart disease because they don't look “typical”? In this episode, I chat with Dr. Jayne Morgan—one of the world's leading voices in women's cardiology—about the number one killer of women: heart disease. She explains how pregnancy complications, hormonal transitions, and overlooked symptoms silently raise risk long before most women ever get screened. Together, we break down what tests matter, what symptoms never to ignore, and how every woman can take charge of her cardiovascular health starting now. Dr. Jayne Morgan is a powerhouse cardiologist on a mission to revolutionize women's heart health with clarity and honesty. She's also a Pilates instructor, a fierce educator, and one of the few women boldly challenging the blind spots in traditional cardiology training. What you'll learn: (01:52) Why heart disease—not breast cancer—is the number one killer of women and why most women never see it coming. (04:29) How Dr. Morgan realized women's symptoms were dismissed as “atypical,” leading to delayed care and missed diagnoses. (07:26) The subtle early symptoms women experience—fatigue, jaw pain, nausea, shortness of breath—that are often confused for anxiety. (13:38) How pregnancy complications can sometimes predict future heart disease risk. (15:21) Why combining cardiology and obstetrics is essential. (26:39) What happens to heart disease risk during perimenopause and menopause. (37:11) Why movement—not formal “exercise”—is one of the most impactful daily habits for reducing heart disease risk. (45:08) Which tests every woman should ask for, including calcium scoring, thyroid panels, and cholesterol markers. Love the podcast? Here's what to do: Subscribe to the podcast. Leave a review. If there is one skill that transforms relationships from shaky to secure, it is validation. And yes, it is hard AF. In this episode, we're diving into why this deceptively simple tool is the very first thing I teach couples and why it matters so much for creating secure attachment.Validation is tough because when your partner brings you something painful or messy, your body wants to react. Your brain starts telling old stories about not being good enough or being unlovable or being too much. But validation is not about agreeing with them or taking the blame. It is simply saying: I see you. I see this person I love having an emotional experience. When you learn this skill, everything shifts. Fights de-escalate. Arguments turn into discussions. Repair becomes possible. And your relationship starts to feel safer for both of you.Let's make your connection more secure, one validating moment at a time.Discover your attachment style to break free from old relationship patterns. Fifty years into the era of mass incarceration, states like Arkansas, Montana, California, and Colorado are pushing to build new prisons and expand immigrant detention. In this episode of Rattling the Bars, host Mansa Musa talks with Nicole Porter of The Sentencing Project about how federal and state governments are doubling down on new prison construction and ICE contracts to expand the prison-industrial complex, what sets the US criminal justice system apart from other countries around the world, and how organizers are fighting for real prison population reductions instead of more cages.Guest:Nicole D. Porter, named a “New Civil Rights Leader” by Essence Magazine for her work to challenge mass incarceration, manages The Sentencing Project's state and local advocacy efforts on sentencing reform, voting rights, and confronting racial disparities in the criminal legal system. Since joining The Sentencing Project in 2009, Porter's advocacy and findings have supported criminal legal reforms in several states including Kentucky, Maryland Missouri, California, Texas and the District of Columbia. Porter's areas of expertise include research and grassroots support around challenging racial disparities, felony disenfranchisement, in addition to prison closures and prison reuse. Her research has been cited in several major media outlets including Salon and the Washington Post, and she has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, and on National Public Radio and MSNBC.Additional links/info:The Sentencing Project website, Facebook page, and InstagramLisa Armstrong, Essence, “The new Civil Rights leaders”Credits:Producer / Videographer / Post-Production: Cameron GranadinoBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-real-news-podcast--2952221/support.Help us continue producing radically independent news and in-depth analysis by following us and becoming a monthly sustainer.Follow us on:Bluesky: @therealnews.comFacebook: The Real News NetworkTwitter: @TheRealNewsYouTube: @therealnewsInstagram: @therealnewsnetworkBecome a member and join the Supporters Club for The Real News Podcast today!

This week, Maine and Miranda preview the upcoming WNO 31 night of champions we discussed all of the matchups on the main card and breakdown our picks for who will win and retain the titles at Who is Number One.We kick off the show discussing the main event Felipe Pena vs. Luke Griffith we talk about their first two matchups where Pena has been able to submit Luke every time. We talked about their first match up at ADCC 2024 and then again in CJI 2 we talk about some of the stylistic approaches that Luke may take in this trilogy matchup and how his camp is one of the best in the world to deal with Felipe specifically. We also discuss Pena's game and how it has been effective every single time that you have matched up. In the main event, we discussed the matchup between Diego "Pato" Oliveira vs Deandre Corbe. We discussed their most recent matchup that was a somewhat controversial win for Deandre at Sapatero via a judges decision, we discussed some of the strategies in the matches, and how potentially a fired up Pato could potentially put up a pace that alone allows him to win a judges decision in the WNO format. In the featherweight title match between Helena Crevar and Julia Boscher, we discussed the recent outstanding run that Helena has been on winning both the women's division at CJI2, and staking her claim as one of the best women in the world we discussed the difference in ranking leading up to this match, and the activity that will be needed from Julia to win. In Gabi Pessanha vs. Paige Clymer we discussed Gabi making her super fight NoGI debut we discussed some of her Footlock winds that she has taken recently on the IBJJF circuit and some of the tactical tendencies that she has that may lead to her potentially being able to be countered by Paige. We discussed some stylistically changes in. Paige passing, that may potentially work in her favor. We talked about the pathway that Gabi has to victory with heavy top pressure and being able to consistently force into back control to look for the sub.In Xande Ribeiro vs. Faris Ben-Lamkadem we discussed some of Xande recent performances, and how this match up is a late replacement matchup with one of the top grappler on the IBJJF circuit out of Europe. In Felipe Costa vs. Abraham La Montagne we discussed the danger of the Abe lock and potentially the camp that Felipe comes from in order to be able to deal with that technique we discussed the quick outside, passing from Felipe in potentially activity that would allow him to be the favor in this matchup. In the second half the preview section we discussed ADCC Asian and Oceanic Trials, we talked about the size of the divisions and some of the notable competitors at the event. In the introduction of the show show the hosts talked about Maines wife getting her black belt in a few weeks.
